Why Do Developers Undervalue Their Time?

how come so many developers fundamentally underestimate the value of their own time this is a comment I see again and again on my YouTube videos why would I use NOCO tools when I know how to code to save time I totally get it as developers we don't want to feel useless admitting that even Engineers might just use no cool tools for a lot of use cases it's kind of like admitting that we aren't needed anymore that's scary so we tell ourselves that no code is nearly as flexible or fast or that it can't solve the problems as well as custom code can but the truth is it can in a lot of cases and if you can solve a lot of trivial things with no code why not do that and then spend your valuable time as a developer on more complex problems there are a ton of things that just need to work it doesn't need a particularly elegant solution or have Optimal Performance and just because you can engineer it doesn't mean you should
