WHY DID I GET THIS!?

hey everybody so I really wasn't planning on making this video but then I just decided a what the hell um so this this right here is all of the devices that I accumulated in the last couple years that's it uh believe it or not um you I'm sure you all have a lot more especially if you're into these types of devices you probably have a bunch of different handhelds and different um just a lot of options that have that have come out uh and you probably have a bunch and that's cool man but I just want you guys to see everything that I have this is it and what this video is about is like well if I have all these things or if I have these items and why the heck did I get this and I'm going to talk a little bit about that but first let's start with a little bit of history when I first started with these devices I got this guy right here this is the pocket go s30 I still think this is one of my favorite um small handhelds I mean out of all these I still love this one just because of the form factor I like the fact that it looks like a Super Nintendo controller uh I like the horizontal layout um it's not that vertical uh type of handheld which isn't my favorite uh format um and it was really neat because it does have this analog stick which was absolutely useless uh because it's it's kind of underpowered it doesn't play it doesn't have the capability to play Nintendo 64 at least not that I remember um but it was still really cool like if you notice like these other devices this the RG 35xx this is the Mio Mini Plus um they could have had a little nub right there and it would have been helpful because like this right here ended up supporting Nintendo 64 and um so it might have been useful to play you know some of those Nintendo 64 games with the analog uh stick it would have been cool there but none of these have taken advantage of that um newer devices how now have the two Nubs at the bottom which you know it's it's crowded but it's there at least the options there but uh this was unique uh so I thought this was really cool Plus everything that it did play we did manage to to run some light Dreamcast uh games on here um and so it's just it's a really cool device it definitely plays all the Neo Geo games Capcom games all that good stuff but this was actually continues to be one of my favorite little devices do I play it no uh but I do like it a lot um after this the next guy that I got was this one here the RG 35xx and I do have several videos um talking about firmwares and things like that Acme plus has kind of been throughout this entire process he developed the firmware for this as well and uh he and I you know we've uh created a quite a I think a pretty good friendship and so I've just kind of follow him along the path of his development uh this was another device that he was interested in I said okay that's something that I could uh you know be involved in I thought that would be cool so uh this turned out to be a really great device actually it's probably one of my more successful uh videos so like all the videos that I have related to the RG 35xx has really been a big part of like growing my Channel with subscribers and all that so I really do appreciate all of you that have uh tuned in and watched these videos that were specific to this now where I haven't really been very successful or actually really done much is with the uh steam deck I mean what's there to do it already has its own firmware it already has its own OS uh it's already you know known to be a great device so there's really nothing for me to add to this um I did do like an unboxing video cuz you know I was just proud of of getting one or whatever but uh this isn't something that I spend a lot of time on uh but uh it's a very powerful device now I absolutely hate it as a handheld it's just too freaking big man and not a lot of people or not enough people really say that cuz maybe they're okay with it but I mean come on man get the hell out of here this thing is freaking humongous um now docked that's that's where it's at so I do dock the steam deck and I do play all the different games I learn I learned how to get it connected to my little mini arcade system so that's even cooler because then I can play actual arcade games Dreamcast games through the uh arcade uh device which is really fun um so there's that uh then I also got myself a Nintendo switch now I haven't even had this a year this is the OLED and again this is a device that I also docked so why the hell did I get an OLED if I'm just going to be docking it all the time well uh if I decide that I do want to play it handheld mode I do want the best screen possible so I did get the OLED version but uh really I spend most of my time docked on this device with a wireless controller and I you know play uh various you know Games first party games things like that I don't have a large library but the games that I do have are wonderful and I think this is a magical device in terms of the really engulfing you in the gameplay aspect of uh of the um of their of Nintendo's ecosystem uh they just they really do it right um everything from you know their controllers to just the whole interface The Sounds um it just it's a fun experience with the Nintendo switch so I'm really happy that I did uh buy this and it's been it's been a cool system to really enjoy sit down and enjoy um this one was actually the only reason I have this the Miu Mini Plus is because it was sent to me um from it was that this is actually the first and only device that was sent to me uh based off of my Channel or and I and I really think this had a lot to do with it because of all the views that I got on this guy uh this was sent to me but it was a lot later in the game probably like two or three months after it was released um and so I did a short video you know just because I mean it was sent to me from from the lit NXT guys and it didn't do so well so that's probably like the first last time I'm going to hear from them but it was cool I mean it was the first time I ever got something like this uh for you know for just because I have a YouTube channel so this was cool uh this device is pretty cool I do say I will say that the screen on the Miu Mini Plus is is uh better than the rg35 XX and it's you know pretty much just as capable as as the rg35 XX but I don't really have as much um time invested in this device so I still kind of lean on this when I you know when I want to pick up one of these things between the two I'll always pick this guy up just because I spend a lot more time on it um then not too long ago I got myself an analog pocket and uh so this obviously can't play all of the games that any of these guys can but what it does play it's uh as close to the real thing that you're going to get now whether there's a big difference between the emulation uh for a hardware emulation which is what this fpga device does versus software emulation which is here so like if I play a Neo Geo game on here do I really see the difference between this and this absolutely not um but when I do dock this into my cabinet I I know that I'm playing as close to the real thing as possible which is really cool and then this does uh cover Neo Geo uh and Capcom which is pretty much my entire favorite arcade libraries are going to be part of the Neo Geo cps1 and two libraries it doesn't do cps3 doesn't do PlayStation it doesn't do a lot of other things but it does what it does do it does extremely well then the screen on this thing is beautiful uh so uh this screen is better than any of these other screens even the uh OLED I would say I would argue that this is far better than any of these other screens so uh this has been a great device to have now uh fast forward um with the Nova blast project which I haven't done any videos on or talked about but if you follow my Twitter or if you follow you know Reddit or things like that you might have already heard about it it's on my uh I think it's my title logo or whatever that's on my channel uh but um there's a it's a candy cabinet arcade project that's coming and I'm expecting a sample uh coming to me soon and my intention is to dock this guy in that in that and playing like all the arcade games and things that are offered in here really just focusing on Arcade but then also the steam deck and things like that so I kind of got ahead of that and prepared myself on what I would need in order to make that happen so um very happy to have this uh it's really a lot of fun and like I said this screen is absolutely gorgeous so so let's go ahead and get into why I got myself this uh Tio super pocket um this is this is different than all of these other devices because I mean yeah it's limited that's a big one the screen's a lot smaller than a lot of these devices so if you look at it the screen is smaller uh it's actually even smaller than this oh it's maybe about the same size as that no it's still a little smaller anyway it's a small device I mean it's it's cute whatever but I mean I already have this I already have the Miu Mini Plus so that can probably play everything that's on this deal but what makes this unique is back here this right here uh and this is hard to take off there we go so it has a cartridge slot because now this is a probably your cheapest entry entry point and uh now it's not working I'm going to fired up though so this is the cheapest entry point into the evercade uh ecosystem so evercade if you're not familiar with them they've developed a little handheld and a console that um actually has cartridges and supports cartridges creates they create cartridges for it uh so that's physical media that you could actually purchase for it uh which is really cool I thought that was really unique and uh so I was kind of interested in that the other reason is that Acme plus is interested in this device and if he's interested in the device and I should be interested in the device because we're going to see the potential of what it all can do uh so it's not just what you see on the surface uh it's going to be about what else uh you know he can make happen and then I'll be more than happy to join him on that journey and report to you all uh the other cool thing about this is that it you know it has like a a switch to turn on and off the device that you're not having to just hold down a power button hold it down for a few seconds to turn it off all of these have that actually uh none of these have a switch that turns it on and off you have to push down something and for a few amount of seconds or whatever for it to shut down or it's software based where you can shut down through the uh UI or whatever but this has an actual switch which is really cool so I'm going to go ahead and turn it on make sure I didn't break it from earlier when I dropped it um and it's got a cool little interface got a little intro it's got music while you're checking your menu so it does have music it's got a volume uh volume up and down which is cool pretty basic interface which is the way I like it I like it's simple you could just kind of scroll through all the different games and the cards that are available um it's got a menu that you can go in and change settings uh this is if you if I actually had a cartridge in here I can go into evercade and it'll load up whatever cartridge or collection that I have in that cartridge and play from there then there's other settings um that's there you know with the display you can you have display settings I'm not going to get into all that I mean there's been videos already covering all this um but it's a it's a cool device and I'm just trying to get the hell out of here so oops Jesus I'm still learning this thing all right so it's not intuitive that's for sure like I would think back or the B button would just kind of get me out out out in layers till I finally get back to this screen it doesn't work that way it does have a select and a start button um it's got the weirdest um shoulder buttons in any device um matter of fact if you look at all these other devices you know they're sticking out and you can get them from the top down um all of them kind of have that this has that even this guy has it right here on the sides uh let's see this one has it on the top kind of like a Super Nintendo controller and your switch also has him on the top that you basically push down to get them and of course the the uh seam deck has buttons on the top and on the on the on the back side of it it's got some switches back here too all right so they all it all makes sense and that's kind of been the design for years uh but these guys decided no we're just going to put them flat in the back and you push into to the device so that's what you got to do you got to push in which is very weird especially after years and years of being physically trained in uh how to uh activate you know switches that are either on the back or on the top of the device so you're always pushing down on the thing but there's a little lip here but there's no buttons there so it is it is weird and that's been mentioned before but I'm going to reiterate that because that's that's a funky design choice but uh but yeah man it goes back to the fact that it has this little button it's got a headphone jack and uh like I said this is something that you know we're going to well not we I'm just waiting on Acme plus to come up with stuff and then once he does I'll try it out maybe test it give him some feedback but then as I'm testing things and getting places uh that's where I'll share this with you um the other reason I bought this one and not the Capcom version obviously the Capcom uh device has better games or I guess you can argue that but the games that on that are on the Capcom device I prefer to the what the library is on here uh similar to the if you think about the Egret 2 mini uh the Egret 2 mini has a kind of a crap selection of games versus like the Astro City Mini so the Astro City Mini has a much better selection of games but once hacked the Egret 2 mini is the better device it's got a bigger screen you can rotate it I mean it's just it it's a it's a it's it's got you know just a better overall uh device once hacked um if not then I would say that the Astro City Mini is is the better of the two in terms of the buttons the stick uh the games the you know the interface all that good stuff so but so because I like I prefer this color profile to the Capcom one I chose this one because I figured uh it doesn't really matter what's inside because eventually we're going to get everything that we can into this uh device but I do like the fact that I have an option of buying actual cartridges and I can put that I can put that in here and actually play games that are just exclusive uh to this uh device or this ecosystem which is the evercade uh so that's pretty cool but anyway uh this is much longer than I expected it to be but who cares uh probably 80% of you aren't even watching anymore but for those of you that are thank you for watching uh if you
