how about you I'm hey welcome to Hamilton bill farm today's video I want to talk about the different types of tires that you can get on your tractor stay tuned [Music] [Music] so the different type of tires that you can get on tractors is categorized by our series designation and you have R 1 R 2 R 3 R 4 s and we're going to talk mainly about our ones r 3s and our fours or twos I'll touch on it but I don't have anything to show you but let's get started with our ones now this is an R 1 tire than I'm standing beside this is what they call an AG tire you'll hear referred to as an AG tire and so basically what it is the lugs and these these grooves here and the tread wear this tread pattern is called lugs and it's spaced out more and it's deeper than a normal tire and what that's going to do for you is going to give you a better pulling option or a better traction option when you're working in conditions that are like fields for your plowing and road crops and things like that where you need that traction to pull that heavy weight behind you and you it may be wet conditions but this right here the drawback to the r-1 tire is this things are aggressive man if you go across your front yard at your house or something it's really going to do a number on your yard when you're using an r1 tire so you don't want to buy an r1 tire if you're going to be using it for residential property type stuff you may want to consider a different option which takes me to the par-3 tire [Music] our tunas similar turn our one just a deeper type of tread but now we go to the are three tire this or a three tire is what they call a turf tire you can see how the pattern on this tire is less aggressive and it's made for more of like a kind of a long more tire I know that's not exactly correct but it is more of a non Moorish type of tire that's going to be not as aggressive on a residential lawn or residential type property but some drawbacks are you're not going to get that traction in the wind sloppy conditions and you're not going to get the pulling power that you have with some of the other type of tread types that we're going to talk about more in the video [Music] and finally you have the art for tire now this are for tire is more of them it's got an industrial tire you'll hear it referred to as that whenever you go talk to a tractor dealer you may say hey do you have industrial tires on it this type of tire is kind of a mix between r1 and r4 so it gives you that traction but it's less aggressive and so you can actually use this around your property you can even if you're careful you can drive around some you know lawns on it if you don't make too many sharp turns and this type of tire will also pull you out of some sticky situations if you're going to get into some muddy or some wet situation you still have the pulling power with this the weight that you can put behind these things well this this tread type or this tread pattern will help accommodate the weight that you pull and you'll see some of the bigger tractors use this or for tire I will I will say this it's also a wider tire and so when you're considering what you're going to be pulling behind it the weight behind it this is probably your better kind of overall this is probably your better option of a tire in my opinion now this is my opinion because of the situation are the applications that I use the tire but you know obviously you want to consider all the things but you can actually see the difference between this r4 tire look at the mud pattern here prepared to this r1 so you can see the difference of the patterns how they will accommodate different types of pulling scenarios or different type of terrain scenarios and so those are some of the things that you need to consider when you're thinking about what tire you want to put on your tractor I will say the r-1 is for you know a lot of traction a lot of sloppy wet conditions but off the r4 is a wider heavier tire that's got kind of a good balance of tread wear and pulling power and the r3 is kind of a turf tire but the r3 I'll caution you will find are 3s on a big tractor because if you put an r3 tire on a bigger tractor that I'm pretty sure the resale value is going to go down because there's just not a lot of people looking for a turf tire on a tractor that they're going to be operating in the woods so you have multiple options to consider when you're thinking about what tire you're going to be putting on your tractor and so ask your dealer when you go to purchase your tractor what tire do I need for the application I'm going to use it for you know do I need that turf tire do I need the r1 or a four tire to add tire and industrial tire and so he will help you meet your dealer or your salesman will help you make the best decision based on the application that you have you know so just make sure that you take all these things into consideration I appreciate you watching the video as always
