this one is a bit of a no-brainer right I mean African elephants are easily the largest living land animals in the entire world the African bush elephant and the African forest elephant are two species in the family with African bush elephants being the largest of all mammals on earth they are larger and stronger than Asian elephants African bush elephants can be 8 to 13 feet or 2.4 to 4 metres tall and weigh up to 7 tons or 6.4 metric tonnes and they can lift weights of up to 9 tons or 8.2 metric tonnes their trunk is also very strong it contains more than 40,000 muscles and tendons and can carry weights of up to 440 pounds or 200 kilograms African bush elephants also have larger ears than Asian elephants and they're also known for their long tusks commonly their tusks grow up to lengths of 8 feet or 2.5 metres and can weigh up to 99 pounds or 45 kilograms they use their immense tusks for digging to defend themselves from predators and to fight with other male African
