Whiskey Barrel Propane Fire Pit

yeah [Music] all right ready all right it's the woodchuck whiskey ball and we're gonna I'm gonna show you how to make one of these uh whiskey barrel burn pits hard to make but they're takes a while to look underneath here there's your ignition system and your your gas everything is all enclosed it all works extremely well all you got to do is turn on your gas and adjust it to where you want it high or low okay now we've already started the process we took the ring off it's going to have the table on it first thing we did we went around and we sanded off all the nails you got all the nails sanded off on the barrel and we already took off the ring that we need for the table and over here we've got it all tacked on round and all the holes that were drilled before we took this off make sure you drill the holes on while it's on the barrel and then from this point we're going to Mark out where the edge of the table is going to go all the way around and then a flat metal here we had to we had to add on a piece because the end result from the stock that we bought we had to add on a piece to make sure it goes all the way around so that is the very beginning of the whiskey ball woodchuck episode building a whiskey barrel burn pit okay so now we're gonna start cutting out everything and we're going to lay out the the outside edge and it's gonna this is going to be an important part of this you got to keep it extremely flat and you've got to make sure you follow this line all the way around that's why we Mark the screwdriver and use the paint pen to follow it all the way around so we get an accurate marking this didn't quite take a whiskey Ball but the next part is next part I'll take a whiskey ball maybe two we'll see what happens pull up rolling [Music] that's a good start right there then we just have to follow it all the way around we're just going to follow it all the way around the white we've marked it out with the with the with a white marker we use this as our guide and just mark it all the way up no we follow this all the way around then all we have to do is torch up what we want and then the rest is plain to see this is something that anybody this is something anybody can do at home if you just have a just a minimal amount of skills and tools it's not that hard to do [Music] started with with the pilot holes we took this band off then we redrilled the holes bigger to accommodate the screws and now we've got it painted and we're putting it back on so we can remove this one if you take all the bands off at one time the barrel falls apart so you have to do this in sequence it's very important to remember that on a lot of these Oak barrels they use nails in quarters and the nail heads you have to sand down and center punch in in order to get the band loose so you can doctor it up paint it and make it look nice so here we go [Music] okay now we're gonna center punch he's got to get some punched off so you can get the bandwidth you got the band off we got our pilot holes already done now we have to open them up bigger to make it accommodate the screw [Music] so we got the band off now we have to continue to clean the barrel up to this other band we do only do one side at a time obviously we're gonna have to do some wood filler here so I saved the the sawdust from the Oak Barrel so I can add a little bit of adhesive and I can fill all these these indentations from the barrel damage that makes it look pristine when the Barrel's done okay now we've got all the holes drilled out to the right sides to accommodate the screws now we have to fix the nail holes where we punched out the nails because screws don't go in that area they only go in the boards it only takes a second to fill those holes up but once you get it done it's going to sand it off it's going to make it look pristine so now you've got a pretty good idea on how much work goes into one of these things if you want to look five-star we only do five star at the woodchuck chuck [Music] foreign yep but he was trying to kill me foreign [Music] okay whiskey ball a woodchuck and uh we we got we're doing the finished product here we're just finishing up the finish the final touches we got all the insurance internal Hardware put in the gas the igniter everything's ready to go up here we got our burner and it's got a it's got a cool full lid on it and uh no no we're gonna we're gonna go ahead and close this up and uh do a final sweep this this was going to be a a tan whiskey Ball but it turned out to be a 40. but it was worth it so we got it hinged on the door so you can put in the propane tank this is this controls the gas on and off and we got an igniter right here just like on a gas grill click on this and it lights right up it's all self-contained you can take it to the beach you can take it on a you can take it on a boat if you want to it's all fully self-contained and now it's done it wasn't a 10 whiskey ball it was a 40 whiskey ball but it was worth it but as you can see this is whiskey ball woodchuck signing off foreign [Music] whiskey Ball but we finally hit the end of the mark so here we go we're going to light this second [Music]
