Which Smash Bros Character Is Canonically Strongest?

hey so i've got a bit of an interesting video today i don't know if you guys ever saw when you were growing up the the show and it was like who would win a tyrannosaurus rex or a stegosaurus and it kind of breaks them down has an animated fight between the two like which dinosaur would win at shadow by the name of smash bracket which only has 2.69 k subs i reckon we can blow this channel up guys what this channel is is it pits the smash bros characters against each other in a giant bracket where they animate every single fight and it's how good they are canonically which is how good they are in their actual game for example mewtwo he's like a low tier in smash bros and in the actual pokemon games he's like a legendary pokemon so this breaks down how good the characters would actually be if there was no balance patches nothing going on just straight pull it out of their game and put in a fight with another smash bros character so i think this is gonna be very very interesting to check out all right so season one episode one marth midnight verse kirby so i think the start is they go on and then they explain a lot and then at the end they show the fight they animate the fight so underneath the uppercuts [Music] yo meta knight wins surely [Music] this is so cool this is so cool what they're in a bloody castle oh my goodness yo is that the leftover sword mars can use eleven sword oh he's got it he's got it [Music] he chopped it he chopped it in half yo martha's done come back when you can put up a fight meta knight wins there you go now at first glance this might have seemed like it was an incredibly one-sided fight and that's because it wasn't nearly as clear-cut as i initially thought it would be though meta knight has certainly demonstrated some insanely impressive looking feats even with that rule set but it's also easy to forget that he's only eight inches tall and so that's what i was saying like he's got so much more power but he was tiny eight inches tall dude that is tinier than my like shoe but the key difference maker here was skill even if we were to take away all of meta knight's strength and all of his speed he's consistently portrayed to be an extremely skilled and experienced fighter one of the best in the galaxy marth on the other hand is one of the best in the damn galaxy moth what is he he's just some chump in the house he portrayed to be relatively average in his ability meta knight is the winner and will be advancing on to the next round of the smash bracket this is so i'm addicted this is so cool all right so midnight would beat math what's next what's another one captain falcon vs falco oh this is a cool match-up i know that falco like flies a spaceship and captain falcon drives a car in their main games is that gonna come into play at all we're going straight to the fight he's pulling up in a whip yes was that a missile from a bloody falco spaceship wait have we started okay okay all right he starts in the whip that's so funny there's my fear miss out from falco spaceship right hands surely falco wins easy he's got a gun back and he's got the speed he's got that movement look at that he's dodging it [Music] oh he's got a bloody rpg tosses it back yo falco wins easy no way oh my god this is nasty hit him with a knee show me a move oh [Music] oh my god so they they also fight on like the legit like on their legit like uh what's it called what's it got like their map like where they're from you know like he's on the racetrack had enough already oh [ __ ] trying to get away dude he just pulled out kirby [Music] these guys are [Music] does he live does he live he's weak he's pulling out the spaceship [Music] oh my god this is not they're both in spaceships he's a pilot i'm sorry if there's any little kids watching i did not know that would happen we gotta watch it one more time though that's okay that's game that doesn't happen in smash and there you go i was not ready this was such an interesting matchup from start to finish both characters were ace pilots in space renowned mercenaries and bounty hunters and their names are even similar i didn't realize how similar they were captain falcon and his machines just couldn't hold up even if we were incredibly generous with the falcon punch's measurements or attempted to scale his strength to other admittedly difficult to measure characters like black shadow it just wasn't anywhere close to what he would need to hurt falco who's capable of surviving shots from the land master while there is one claim in f-zero gx that captain falcon's belt buckle holds the power of the universe and could destroy a galaxy this claim was never backed by the way my boat can actually destroy the galaxy just by the way up or substantiated by feats falco lombardi is the winner and will be moving on to the next round of the smash break that makes sense that makes sense he's got the machinery he's got the equipment dude oh my lord wait what am i doing why i'm not subscribed yet subscribe like this is we got to get this channel i want to see this at 5.3 k i want this doubled oh they've done red versus ganondorf yo oh my god all right lucina vs rob though let's watch lucini versus rob first lucina is my main in smash bros by the way if you didn't know so i want to see how she does this is weird this is wait rob's literally a toy yeah look see this is what rob is he's a toy that nintendo released come at me have we seen a little just gonna pick him up and throw him [Music] [Laughter] and there you go honestly i'm not sure what you expected to happen one of these characters is a fearsome elite warrior from the future with powerful swords weaponry and magic and the other one is a literal children's tour that's what i'm saying i like said so they're legit they're keeping it canonical i like it i like it all right let's move on this one this channel is sick dude they're fighting in ocarina of time oh this is the this is the one i'm most excited for cannon don't know damn ganon doesn't know what that is he doesn't he's never seen volator before all right all right i'm pumped for this what's he got on that one i'm sorry guys oh wait but ganondorf is here now in that actual bracket i don't know what that was i know that was just just them showing off a fight scene i guess yo this has so many ganondorf through her strategic exploitation of his weakness to be distracted by mundane objects she mysteriously surrendered by waving a white flag of defeat whether it came from an intentional move to spare ganondorf from her isabellistic form or subtle manipulation to win over a powerful ally we may never know the answer but when all is said and done ganondorf is the winner and we'll be moving on to the next round that makes sense isabel on the smash bracket jigglypuff kirby alrighty this is interesting wait let me try and guess let me try jigglypuff she's got it i think kirby wins we should do this i should have been guessing i think kirby wins kirby's got so many powers right so many powers what is going on jigglypuff rest will not kill canonically that is a smash bros exclusive go go go go go go go [ __ ] kirby's way too fast as well look at this oh no puff has no chance what is that bubble the thing the thing kirby's asleep oh true g i remember this from the pokemon from the pokemon anime kirby jigglypuff gets mad when people fall asleep when she sings she's hates it she's like why is everyone sleeping when i'm singing oh my god i forgot about that what a throwback what is that hyper beam [Music] oh my god kirby what are you doing get in the fight [Music] here we go here we go all right gg gg surely oh hills oh my lord jigglypuff shouldn't she look off only have like four moves this is crazy oh oh oh another power dude oh kirby wind [Music] hammer [Music] oh it's kirby that's drug that means i'm dead you just blew up the planet so extra and there you go now on paper this seems like an incredibly one-sided stomp of a match and if someone were oh my god kirby kirby wins by punching puffs so hard to split the into the stat sheets for each character then that would be a totally fair assumption to make even if jigglypuff holds a surprising advantage in combat speed before even calculating instead i did not know kevin had that much power you took every single i don't know i did not know kirby with this buff earth and replaced it with our entire solar system and then replaced every moon and asteroid in each of those solar systems with something the size of earth the energy to destroy all of that would be comparable to the energy that kirby's outputting with this baseball feat here and yet despite oh wow kirby demonstrated this power in baseball look at the baseball flying through planets and destroying all of the energy that kirby's outputting and yet despite that power i still think that this can be an incredibly close match depending on the context and that only looking at the stat sheets here is a short-sighted way to view the match-up kirby almost never uses his full strength even when fighting the weakest opponents in the kirby universe based on the destructible objects that kirby can or can't destroy in a single hit in his game he operates at a much much weaker level in normal gameplay to the point that it's hard to say that he's even holding back his normal power levels are just completely incomparable to his maximum output however if he were to ever attempt to go all out or even just use the tiniest fraction of his true power outside of what he normally displays in gameplay he would be able to instantly destroy jigglypuff in a single attack it would even blow through any sort of defense that she could put up like protect counter endure focus sash etc but if kirby didn't go all out before jigglypuff landed even a single toxic or confusion attack jigglypuff would almost certainly take the victory kirby doesn't have meaningful enough resistance to poison damage in order to withstand toxic's effects even when using his poison ability but the true equalizer here is the incredibly dangerous confusion status effect when an enemy hurts himself in confusion it's treated as a base power 40 attack in pokemon but this power is modified by the target's attack stat while we're not trying to scale the power of pokemon moves to actual stats the important thing to highlight from this is that almost all of the damage is coming from the raw strength of the confused pokemon rather than what they were attempting to put into their attacks kirby can put out so much more damage than he can take that hurting himself from confusion even once would have been more than enough to knock him out and likely even kill him outright by calculating the probability of kirby hurting himself in confusion each turn and then factoring the chance for different lengths of the status effect we found that confusion on its own every time it's applied gives jigglypuff a 75 chance of victory by the time it wears off of course kirby would also be just about as likely to pulverize the planet accidentally which wouldn't be too good for jigglypuff so if jigglypuff is faster and has several reliable win conditions why didn't she take this kirby really hasn't ever used his full strength on screen outside of one single context competitions and as per the rules of smash bracket characters are aware that they're fighting in a fighting competition and so kirby would have absolutely no hesitation to show off his true power and steal the spotlight depending on the context this could be a disturbingly close matchup but getting crazy i respect it anyway there we go there we go that is smash bracket awesome
