foreign [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] so we're going on an adventure we wanted to check all the storm damage on the way from Fresno through Oakhurst through Mariposa on to bryceford just out just outside of Yosemite National Park and uh man we've seen a lot of trees down we've seen a lot of swollen Creeks couple big Rivers I want to talk about where gold can be found in a uh in a river after a flood all right take care foreign [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] hi guys Amanda ma here we wanted to check out the recent flooding from a drive from Fresno to Mariposa and go to my favorite place to go gold planning which is the Merced River anybody can pan right underneath the the bridge but the further down it's under clean but I just wanted to show you where gold will drop in a flood so let's go on a little walk as you can see the river is really high right now it is the highest I think I've ever seen it and I've been gold prospecting here for I don't know 15 years so this is quite an astounding thing this is the bridge that they had that used to go on the other side would be the old railroad now let's look over here you can see those Rapids right there and you can see that it's kind of coming out here and it's slowing down along here and then it's also slowing here if you see it's kind of that triangle Rock just in front of that triangle Rock it's very slow so that would be a good deposit zone for gold you can see that the river is moving very quickly but if you look right here and you look over here where that little tree is so it's very slow it's getting caught up in these rocks all that gold is getting caught up in the Rocks so let's walk a little further down what a nice coming down right there so if there's any natural gold that's coming up off of this mountain here it would be coming down in that spring now that spring does not run in the summertime so looking underneath that area if there is host fold in this this mountain here that would be a good place to live wow oh so you can see this is a better angle of that little pattern in there where it looks like you would be able to find a positive gold that would kind of wash up into that little cave that's behind that tree so you can see how fast it's going but look right down here in this little pocket it's not moving nearly as fast now it's the Rubber did come up over that rock it could deposit things right in this area here Mr pocket Mr pocket if you've never seen what is it the story of Mr pocket is a wonderful wonderful show to see how to find gold load can y'all see how the river is moving really fast in the center and then it slows down right here so this would be a good drop point for gold to collect so normally this is all just be EP but in a flood it's depositing gold all within the slower area why the inside Bend of a curve is important so the river is moving quite fast and it's starting it's starting to curve and you can see the White Caps there and then you can see in here how it's much slower that's a good place and source to look for gold on the inside Bend of a curve these old Diggins perhaps thanks for coming along with me on this journey YouTube I hope you enjoyed it we just wanted to show you what the rivers were looking like after this recent California storms and to show you where gold would deposit in a river like this now this is the Merced River you're free to go down underneath the uh the bridge there and further down there are campgrounds but they are some of them are under claim so you have to be very careful but you're free to go again right here on your trip to Yosemite thank you thank you [Music]
