extreme trends presents when this 11 year old wore her dress for picture day the school's response left her in tears before we begin do us a favor and click that like button also subscribe to our channel and click the notification bell to be inspired by these heartwarming stories every day it was a bright sunny morning on the 28th of september in 2017 when eleven-year-old vegas finally woke up to the day that she was looking forward to for weeks studying at lockwood schools eileen johnson middle school in her hometown of billings montana the little girl had always been fond of learning she was one of those least troublesome kids who usually got along really well with the rest of the class and spread positivity and joy all around them that morning vegas was more thrilled than normal for school and quite rightfully so it's picture day she squeaked cheerfully taking her most beloved new dress out from her wardrobe it had been gifted to her by her sister a few weeks back and vegas had then decided to save it for picture day at school which was organized once every year the concept behind this day is to facilitate parents and families to maintain a photographic record of their children's student life which is obviously quite memorable to say the least therefore kids are usually quite excited for this day at school and makes several attempts to look as presentable as they possibly can this also explains why vegas had waited for weeks just so that she could finally get dressed in her brand new outfit set her hair and accessorize beautifully however little did she know the day that seemed so bright and exciting would soon turn into a nightmare as she twirled around the cheerful 11 year old glanced at her reflection in the full-length mirror one last time before heading out for school the shade of grey on her dress was complimented well by a floral print that had a pop of pink besides being high neck the dress gracefully fell till the knees of the little girl in order to elevate the overall look even further vegas decided to pair the dress with brand new opaque black leggings while her hair was tied in a cute ponytail after quickly admiring herself in the mirror vegas ran outside where her car was waiting for her can't wait she thought completely unaware of the heartbreaking incident that was approaching while joining others in the line vegas looked around and checked the outfits of her friends and her classmates however soon the joyful people's smile disappeared when a school staff member rudely pulled her to the side what are you wearing vegas the teacher asked angrily which left vegas both confused and shattered she simply couldn't comprehend what she had done wrong since the entire class was almost ready for the picture vegas was allowed to stand for the photograph but soon afterwards she was taken to the principal's office from where her parents were called your child has been cited for dress code violation the vice principal said over the phone her shoulders were showing this kind of dress is not appropriate for school as vegas continued sobbing she waited for her parents to arrive and take her home the day was simply too much for her to handle i don't want to talk about it it makes me so upset vegas said in a weak voice while weeping in the arms of her grandmother sandra lynn darling who was seriously furious at the school staff after capturing a photograph of her heartbroken granddaughter darling posted it on facebook with a caption describing the entire scenario it took only a few hours for thousands of people in the community to comment about how unreasonable the school's enforcement of dress code truly was everyone agreed there was nothing wrong with vegas's outfit one facebook user wrote i don't understand why this dress would be distracting that's ridiculous i would argue as a parent as darling continued replying to people on facebook she realized that she wasn't the only one who was extremely infuriated and disappointed with the school's absurd policies despite all this however the administration at lockwood schools stayed adamant and didn't even bother apologizing for their behavior that had left the little girl devastated needless to say it is imperative for schools to rethink such absurd policies especially those related to dress code it's also crucial for parents and families to stand up for their school going kids whenever they are bullied or let down that's it for today thank you for watching subscribe for more heartwarming stories and check out one of the two videos on your screen for another amazing video
