her endeavors earned her the title of the funniest person in America in a decade later she became a television star as well as years went on Ellen established herself as a television host actress writer LGBT activist and a producer and her own comedy talk show that she has been hosting since 2003 169 Daytime Emmy Awards and 17 People's Choice Awards as of 2017 Ellen herself has won 30 Emmys 20 People's Choice Awards which is more than any other person and lots of other awards for her work in charities she organized usually the television personality clouds around cracks jokes and generally comes across as one of the most giving and most kind people but on more than one occasion things have gotten awkward and tense in the studio that made the beloved hosts lose her temper even though she never ranted and made a scene but did her best to stay professional and cool she didn't manage to hide her anger either so in today's video we'll be looking at six times Ellen lost her temper live everybody knows that from 1994 to 1998 Ellen starred in her own sitcom but only real fast remembered that in the two-part episode titled the puppy episode which aired in late April of 1997 and was watched by 47 million people her character Ellen Morgan came out as a lesbian making her the Friz gay lead character in American television however the TV star herself finally officially came out in an issue of Time magazine two weeks before the episode actually aired she was featured in the cover of the magazine with big red letters saying yep I'm gay in the issue that was eventually voted as the best ever by the readers Ellen elaborated further in her sexual orientation and thanks to raising awareness and by making their problems known ultimately became an icon of the LGBTQ community in the years to come so when in 2015 pastor Larry Tom Shaq railed against the entertainment industry gay rights organizations and others for supporting a gay agenda and the LGBTQ community and his column and Christian post referencing LGBTQ culture and television likely Modern Family in Ellen's own show it didn't sit well with the talk-show host the pastor said that Ellen celebrates her lesbianism and marriage in between appearances of guests like Taylor Swift to attract young girls so she addressed the remarks during the monologue of her talk-show the only way I'm trying to influence people is to be more kind and compassionate with one another that's the message I'm sending out she said adding that she doesn't usually read stories about herself and the tabloids or online for that matter unless it's about her being pregnant and then how else would she know even though Ellen was laughing off the pastor in the monologue she wasn't exactly laughing obviously trying to contain her anger she explained that she wasn't quote-unquote married as the pastor wrote but actually married saying that she didn't know what it means to celebrate lesbianism than joking well I guess I do I don't even know what it means to celebrate my lesbianism I mean I guess I do it's like that being called out like she was would cause anyone to lose their temper and judging by Ellen's facial expression she certainly did upon reading it and almost the second time is well during the monologue a certain dose of professional rivalry certainly is healthy but when the situation gets more serious one side is bound to lose their temper but still do their best to hide it in front of the cameras when Wendy Williams the host of the Wendy Williams Show one of the top test syndicated daytime talk shows appeared in one segment on Ellen things became awkward sooner rather than later to the point where Ellen obviously lost her temper but did her best to hide it for what seems forever now the two talk-show hosts have been at war for Ayla's guests and at one point Bloomberg Business reported that Williams traded off daily with Ellen as the number one female host which is while and probably disliked her along with her gossipy nature in the way she speaks about celebrities as rather awkward talk about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West went on and Williams expressed their thoughts he's touring right Ellen became what many viewers and fast perceived as cold serious and uninterested there was certainly a weird vibe going on between the two talk-show hosts and the tension was palpable as Ellen tried not to show her disdain and need to criticize Williams who at one point plugged the ad she did for PETA seemingly in the very same second she also managed to acknowledge the fact that Ellen was a vegan only to ask how does she live without bacon because judging by the way Ellen carried herself throughout the interview it's obvious that Williams's presence alone caused her to lose her temper to the point where she couldn't even hide it back in 2015 Caitlyn Jenner appeared on The Ellen Show and while everything started off good with Ellen even praising Jenner and her involvement in transgender rights activism things turned around soon enough when it came to the topic of same-sex marriage which greatly annoyed the top show host the I am Kate star upset Ellen was she called herself a traditionalist who never used to approve of same-sex marriage I mean I kind of like tradition I don't quite get it still even though she added that her views and the subjects had evolved over time Ellen wasn't convinced and said that it's funny because Jenner is still kind of a little not on board with it because you're so you're still kind of a little not unborn with it no I'm on board while generous system that she was obviously annoyed Ellen explained that same-sex couples seek the same equality as the transgender people the Jenner supports it didn't end there in the studio though as Ellen claimed that the former Olympian still has a judgment about gay marriage during Howard Stern interview adding that she didn't entirely understand Jenner stance on the subject you're wanting people to understand and accept you this is like really confusing to people and you still have a judgment about gay people in marriage and even though the talk-show host said that the interview with Jenner was great she sort of took it personally when Jenner didn't ask with her like so many guests before her I don't think she's a dancer maybe she didn't want to dance with me because I'm a lesbian she said obviously still annoyed being such an animal lover Ellen wanted to know everything about Jennifer Lawrence's new cat when the actress appeared on the show when the slide show of the cat started Helen was in the middle of a sentence when the Hunger Games star interrupted her saying little Chaz Bono while looking at her cat's photo instead of continuing with her question Ellen asked if that's really the cat's name because naming the cat after the transgender son of Cher and the late Sonny Bono seemed a bit off the silver linings playbook actress infamous for not filtering her statements explained that the cat's name is actually Cleo but they called her Chaz Bono because of her masculine energy instead of shutting up right then and there Lauren's continued rambling saying that she always assumed that cats are girls and dogs are boys and even revealed that initially they named the cat Oliver and even got a Rakhal her with the name on it before realizing it was actually a girl making a full circle the actress concluded that her pets boyish energy is weird for a cat so they called her Chaz Bono at this point Helen visibly got annoyed and lost her temper even though she tried to hide it as she improvised and quickly changed the subject stuttering about the differences between male and female cats because all three color cats or girls just so you know that for the future any cat with three colors is a female back in 2017 the legendary actress Nicole Kidman made an appearance in the show along with celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis the cooking segment started with what seemed like a friendly banter but it appears that the cocky chef had other ideas about how it's gonna go right off the bat she made an inappropriate joke about rice balls only to insult Ellen on account of her cooking skills saying that what she may look like dog food [Applause] the host of the show wasn't the only DiLaurentis target and the famous actors got jabbed as well looking at what Kidman was doing the celebrity chef said and even though Kidman was laughing Ellen wasn't having a good time making matters worse DiLaurentis said that Ellen's balls are falling apart and while the talk-show host was obviously too angry to say anything and only mug for the camera while trying to chew wood De Laurentiis made Kidd miss rug back saying it's a little tough before spitting her bite into her hand [Applause] one time Ellen wanted to treat her audience members so she had a table with free merch set up during filming the sign on it however asked fans to take only one item and while most people respected this too women helped themselves to a whole lot of free swag little did they know that they were being filmed as there was a hidden camera set up and Ellen decided to confront them on-air and publicly shame them on national level talking to the audience she said that she wanted to see how honest they were any of you could have taken more than one thing and he didn't except for these ladies right here she said while the camera zoomed it on the two ladies with their actions being shown and squeezed for everyone to see [Applause] caught red-handed with one of them even saying nobody will see just do it the embarrassed women tried to explain themselves one of them said that the extra goodies were for her sister who couldn't make it but angry Ellen immediately shot back to teach them a lesson the talk show host sent both of them to sit in what she called Ellen Jail which was an improvised cell on the stage saying you think nobody's watching you and he just need to be a
