so in recent months it seems like a lot of beloved TV series have been unceremoniously cancelled leaving people with a lot of sadness and frustration especially because it seems like a lot of trashy TV gets to be renewed endlessly a number of shows with a strong cult following couldn't manage to survive and the Uproar on the internet every time this happens is really loud and difficult to ignore recent victims include our flag means death Warrior the incredible scavengers rain Lockwood and Co was a shadow and Bone wolf pack I mean who unironically watched this let's be so serious here it's crazy the amount of shows that are being killed so my condolences to anyone who lost a show that was very near and dear to them and it made me think about the cancellations that very deeply hurt me to my core shows that I absolutely adored but that never got to have an ending and we're going to talk about those today now there are some iconic shows that were not iously cancelled and I'm not necessarily going to talk about those because they're way too obvious like Freaks and Geeks iconic can't touch that my so-called life can't touch that mind Hunter probably a modern classic can't touch that these shows are their own monuments that Mark people for a very long time despite being cancelled very early on and a lot of people have held hope that they could one day come back because yeah there are also some iconic shows that were cancelled and then brought back to life Firefly is one of the most respected Sci-Fi series of all time it was cancelled after one season due to little ratings mostly because of the fact that the network for some reason made the incomprehensible decision to air the episodes out of order however it was later brought back as a movie called Serenity that provided the story with a more satisfying conclusion Twin Peaks got to return over 20 years after its original cancellation Veronica Mars was brought back like twice Brooklyn 99 was cancelled by Fox after five seasons and then saved by NBC Lucifer was also cancelled by Fox but then resurrected by Netflix I was never a big fan of Arrested Development but the show was cancelled and then also revived by Netflix although I hear that one was a terrible idea in the end but these TV miracles do happen which is why now every time a show gets cancelled fans attempt to start massive petition to get the Network's attentions to potentially save their favorite thing from cancellation but in most cases it doesn't work and if I'm being completely honest in most cases these shows do not deserve to be resurrected sometimes shows are killed and they should stay dead but today I want to talk about the ones that truly did not deserve to be cancelled the shows that have stayed with me for years haunting my dreams as I try to make sense of their loss occupying my life as I question where the story was going what that character was going to do and I fall into the abyss because my life has not mattered since their cancellation I'm being dramatic I'm I'm being dramatic I realize that I'm sorry I'm going to stop but you get the gist I want to talk about these shows that really really stuck with me and that I wish we had more of you probably have heard about some of them there's a couple I already mentioned on the channel before others you probably have never heard about or forgot even existed but regardless those are the cancellations that hurt me the most and hey if you can think of any show that was cancelled and that also broke your beautiful little heart feel free to share them in the comments there may be an underrated gem I need to watch in there so with all that in mind here is my list of cancelled TV shows that deserve a second life starting with number eight Hannibal I'm going to start with this one and get it out of the way now because man everybody knows I think when it comes to shows that got unceremoniously cancelled and that fans are dying to get back Hannibal is probably number one on the podium the reimagined story of the most iconic fictional serial killer of all time is considered by many to be the most underrated show ever made especially given the fact that mads mikkelson is easily the best incarnation of Hannibal Lecter yes I put him above Anthony Hopkins and I will not be taking questions at this time the show ran for three seasons and was absolutely incredible it's a brilliant psychological Thriller that is incredibly well written and that unfortunately not a lot of people watched at the time Hannibal was ax due to low ratings but then thanks to the big boom of streaming platforms the show had a sort of Renaissance just a year or two after it was killed and it built an absolutely gigantic cult following millions of fans who were dying for the show to get its Justice and return for a fourth season however the interest thing with Hannibal is that the show was cancelled in 2015 almost 10 years ago now God we're old and over the last few years it seems like there has been a change in the Visions the fans have of the ending for those who don't know Hannibal ends on a very very intense Cliffhanger and while initially it heavily contributed to the Colossal heartbreak over its cancellation recently A lot of people have changed their tune and are more and more of the opinion that the show ending the way it did is actually really fitting and that continuing the story isn't really necessary and I sort of agree sort of obviously there are a few loose ends but the way Hannibal ends even though it wasn't the intended ending feels like an ending that could be definitive in terms of the characters and a lot of their themes and I really have to walk around the pot here because I really don't want to spoil anything the final episode sort of Mak sense there is a way to look look at it that could make it a good ending but also I would love to have seen the ending the writers wanted to have because Hannibal is an incredible show that was made with a lot of care and attention and I'm putting it at the bottom of the list because it's the entry that actually has the most hope believe it or not this show was cancelled 9 years ago but right now in 2024 it is looking somewhat likely that season 4 of Hannibal actually will happen Matt mikkelson has confirmed that a lot of conversations have been had behind the scenes he and other people who were involved in the show including the Creator really want to make it happen and while nothing concrete seems to have been set yet mads has said in a recent interview that ideas have been worked on and that he can't reveal any of what has been discussed in case season 4 does happen so we'll have to see but this is by far the most hopeful scenario for any of the shows on this list if you haven't watched Hannibal do yourself a favor watch it number seven Thea created by the brilliant Brit Marling who also plays the main character Thea tells the story of a blind woman named Prairie Johnson who mysteriously goes missing while on a trip out of town her family and the police try to look for her for years but to no avail until she suddenly reappears 7 years later just as mysteriously as when she vanished but the Prairie that returns is drastically different from the one her family knows she refuses to say where she was during the year she was missing she no longer calls herself prair and only refers to herself as DOA and more shocking than all Prairie is no longer blind and while her family is happy to get her back they can't help but notice that something is off and quickly it becomes very apparent that Prairie's return may not be a happy Miracle but rather a calculated plan because it seems like she is back looking for something or rather looking for someone Thea is a Netflix series that came out in 2016 and was cancelled after two seasons and I absolutely loved it this show is so unique and so original I had never seen something like it before and I have never seen something like it since the cast is incredible Brit Marling is absolutely breathtaking as Prairie the depth she has to go to with her performance for this character to be brought to life is just unbelievable Jason ISX who's literally incapable of being anything less than spectacular plays a very intimidating character with another masterful performance and the rest of the cast is just as good Pas Vega Riz Amed and Zena who joins the show in season 2 in the role of a mysterious young girl named fola it's just a crazy Ensemble of unhinged talent I love it now there are several factors that could explain why the OA was cancelled yes season 2 was not nearly as popular as season 1 for a couple of reasons for one just like Twin Peaks back in the early '90s it's often speculated that the O downfall could be attributed to it getting a little too weird for its own good an argument I understand but don't necessarily agree with I mean don't get me wrong the show is definitely out there it's very bizarre are and season 2 has one very specific scene that was so strange and out of pocket that it left a lot of people scratching their heads nobody was ready for what that scene was and some people were turned off by the show when they saw it but I think the show's weirdness was also part of the appeal the OA is the type of show that is just so unpredictable you never know what's around the corner I've said it before in another video where I talked about the show like a couple years ago but when I tell you the synopsis I just gave you for the show's story is only scratching the surface believe me I'm not exaggerating that premise is already a really strong mystery that was more than enough for me to watch it but trust me you will think you know where this show is going and I guarantee you you will be wrong the OA is a story that spends most of its time slowly peeling back the layers of its own weirdness and sees season 2 clearly was designed to push the boundaries of its floore if you ask me the fact that a show this unique was green lit in the first place is kind of a miracle and that reality is not lost on me I also think one of the reasons for season 2's lackluster performance is simply that the waight between seasons 1 and two was way too long that's a larger conversation to be had about how these streaming platforms operate with renewing their shows but I definitely think it was a factor here it took 2 and a half years for the second part to be released and while season 1 was somewhat popular it wasn't enough of a hit for a lot of people to stay invested for this long and I feel like the way just caused people to lose interest in the show and weirdly enough it sort of makes for an appropriately strange ending because without spoiling anything the end of season 2 is one of the most meta Cliffhangers I've ever seen it literally broke my brain in two I could not believe what I was watching watching and I could not wait to see more but then it got cancelled and it hurt my feelings Brit Marling apparently had planned for the full story of the OA to be told in five seasons and while that's clearly never going to happen I really wish Netflix would have at least given her one more season to attempt to wrap the story up like you just want to see where a show this bizarre was trying to go and as recently as November of 2012 23 4 years after the show got cancelled Brit Marling says she is still hopeful that season 3 could happen but uh I don't know some fans believe that this is all a big plan that works into the theories around the show and that secret Clues have been dropped to suggest that the show is coming back and that this is all part of Brit marling's master plan but no I think these people are just scoping they just don't want to accept that the show is cancelled and they need something to believe in but I do hope the OA one day gets to finish its story just like Twin Peaks got to do 25 years later and yes I keep comparing the OA to Twin Peaks and that's because the OA in my eyes is the modern Twin Peaks I will not be taking any questions at this time thank you let's move on number six 1899 oh boy this one still hurts I feel like I've been complaining about this Show's cancellation so much whether it be on YouTube or mostly on Instagram which by the way follow me on Instagram we have a lot of fun there but this is genuinely a tragic loss I've talked about 1899 on the channel before because it was in my video about the top 10 best shows of 2022 it is insanely good and its cancellation is something I never really got over like I'm kind of still mad about it 1899 is a Netflix series from the creators of dark my favorite show of all time about a group of people in the year 1899 on board of a ship named Kerberos making its way to New York City all the different people on the ship seem to be hiding secrets and looking for New Beginnings they come from everywhere around the world and really need to get to New York City for various reasons the trip is already pretty tense but things take an incredibly Sinister turn when in the middle of the voyage the keros crosses paths on the open sea with the Prometheus an identical ship that had suddenly gone missing under mysterious circumstances months prior this show is so [ __ ] cool just like the OA it is full of little Mysteries and weird ideas and again if you think you know where the story is going no you don't this thing will bend your mind from the first minute to the very last second from what I understand 1899 was cancelled because it was simply too expensive to make and I think the viewership wasn't big enough for Netflix to keep going with it which makes sense it's a German series that has at least eight or nine different languages during the story but it still makes me really really sad 1899 is one of the most unique and amazing shows Netflix has ever had it's creepy and weird the story revolves around a series of extremely compelling Mysteries and the twists and turns in the show are so creative and mindblowing and what makes its cancellation even more infuriating to me is the fact that odar and free the creators of the show had explained that they already had the entire story figured out they knew how the show was going to end and just like dark their previous Masterpiece they had a three three season plan to finish that story it would have been treated like a Trilogy and I am just so [ __ ] mad that we will never get that trilogy this story deserves to be told fully and the fact that it never will breaks my fragile little heart because yeah uh the unfortunate thing with 1899 is that it is almost certain that we will never get that Revival like I said sometimes shows get cancelled and the rights are bought back by another Network and they get to continue it in a new home but this is definitely never going to happen here because odar and free are under a Netflix contract where their next few projects have to be made with Netflix so theoretically unless Netflix would agree to it they would never be able to work with another platform to continue 1899 even if another platform was interested in continuing the show and Netflix is certainly not going to come back on their decisions so what we are left with is an incredible season of TV with one of the coolest concept out there that ends on an insane twist that will never be resolved and I will never get over it before we continue let's just take a quick moment to thank Circle The Secret Circle is a supernatural drama television series that aired on the CW in 2011 the story centers around Cassie Blake a 16-year-old girl who has to move to the small town of chance Harbor in the state of Washington to live with her grandmother after her mom suddenly dies in a mysterious fire she tries to give herself a new start in that new environment but things quickly take a dark turn when she is approached by five students in her new high school who reveal to her her real identity and that is when Cassie discovers that she descends from a long line of witches and her arrival in chance Harbor just completed The Secret Circle the enigmatic coven formed by the five other students who all got powers from their ancestors together they uncover dark secrets about their family's past face threats from other witches and confront ancient evils that threaten their existence because Cassie is not a normal witch she descends from a very powerful lineage that is linked to incredibly Dark and Dangerous magic and her family's past might have a direct connection to her mother's mysterious death The Secret Circle was developed by the same people who made The Vampire Diaries and it's an adaptation of a series of novels by LJ Smith the original author of The Vampire Diaries novels clearly the CW was trying to replicate a very specific formula which makes sense because the Vampire Diaries had become an instant success when it came out 2 years prior quickly earning itself the title of biggest show in the Network's history so naturally they wanted another Mega hit under their belt and they had some really solid people in the cast that were relatively unknown at the time Jessica Parker Kennedy who is way too underrated Shelly Henning and one of my absolute favorites Phoebe tonin like really on paper this show had everything lined up to be the next big thing Unfortunately The Secret Circle did not really connect with audiences at the time and as the season progressed ratings slowly fell until it became completely unviable for the CW to justify making a second season so well I mean they canell the show obviously that's what the video is about and that was that The Secret Circle was killed after one season however over the years the show has gained a pretty large cult following mostly made of people who believe this series deserved more some see it as an excellent series that was overshadowed by bigger shows While others perceive it more as a misunderstood gem with great ideas that wasn't given the proper time to prove itself and I think I fall more into that second category personally I wasn't the biggest fan of The Secret Circle I thought it was fine like a fun little show but a lot of its execution was awkward and clumsy it's unfortunate that it didn't get a chance to improve because in comparison a lot of The Vampire Diaries first season was also awkward and clumsy but it also had characters that became Instant Pop Culture phenomenons which is something The Secret Circle did not have but I do think that the concept of The Secret Circle is really good like really good excellent even the premise the ideas behind the characters all of that is brilliant and I always say that reboots should be about good ideas that didn't get a chance to be executed right instead of things that were already done great and beloved and this is a great example of that The Secret Circle to me is a perfect candidate for a full reboot update it modernize it make it less cheesy bring an insane cast I am dying for a good gritty Moody series about witches that people will take seriously this [ __ ] would [ __ ] rock give me an HBO Max reboot of The Secret Circle that doesn't hold any punches thank you very much next number four Dead Like Me Dead Like Me is a 2003 series that ran on Showtime for two seasons before being cancelled and it was created by Brian Fuller the creator of Hannibal yeah this guy's not very lucky Dead Like Me tells the story of Georgia lass or George an 18-year-old College Dropout with an unsatisfying life who is cold and emotionally distant after abandoning her studies George gets a corporate job she intends to be at temporarily but during her lunch break on her very first day she is suddenly hit and crushed by a rogue toilet seat that fell from from a deorbiting space station and George dies after dying her spirit immediately awakens but she doesn't understand what happened she is then approached by undead beings who can see her as a ghost and reveal to her that she has died but unlike other dead people she learned she will not be allowed to go to the afterlife instead George is going to become a grim reaper an undead entity that has for only task to retrieve The Souls of people who are about to die and if she collects enough Souls she can earn her way into the great beyond so Georgia joins a group of grim reapers as she tries to make sense of this new life in death while her family struggles to grieve her and does not know how to move forward after her sudden passing Dead Like Me was a very weird show it was sort of a comedy with a lot of dark humor and very wellth thought out arcs that made the story quite compelling like honestly this show has a lot of really good ideas it's very unique and out there and while not everything is executed the best all the time you can tell there was a lot of effort put into this show in a way that to this day makes it one of a kind I honestly cannot think of another show that is quite like it even with the flaws that most definitely contributed to its drop in ratings I think its issues mostly come down to the wonky character writing the spite the great Stories the characters are in this cast is not that memorable and you don't ever never truly get attached to anyone aside maybe from George and even that is a bit of a stretch the characters are not very likable but again the stories they're in are so fascinating and imaginative that a lot of people still remember this show for its insane creativity aside from that though Dead Like Me is one of those shows that apparently also had a lot of behind the scenes problems people not getting along long intense conflicts and claims of unprofessionalism by MGM television the production company behind the show like The Creator Brian Fuller exited the show very early into season 1 due to those issues and he later admitted that working on the show was a nightmare and that MGM was constantly trying to Strongarm him into making the show something he didn't want it to be and Rebecca gayart who played one of the main characters also left the show after only five episodes Dead Like Me was canceled by Showtime after two seasons a total of 29 episodes and mostly fell into Oblivion almost immediately however I recently found out that Dead Like Me did have a continuation after its cancellation in 2003 in the form of a direct to DVD movie titled Dead Like Me life after death that was released in 2009 I had never heard about it which is surprising because the whole cast came back for this movie and it also Stars chenet Grimes who was at the height of her popularity at the time because this came out right after the first season of 90210 I just how did I not know about this what the [ __ ] I don't know if it's good then because I haven't seen it but regardless just like The Secret Circle I think Dead Like Me is one of those shows that in my opinion absolutely deserves a reboot it's a story that can 100% be updated and made even better than the first time I just think it's too good of a concept to be left lying on the floor after 20 years there is so much to do with this and I think it would be an absolute sh shame not to give this a second life somewhere down the line no pun intended there but I'm still going to take credit for it thank you number three I am not okay with this # I am not okay with I am not okay with this being cancelled maybe just # save I am not okay with this I am not okay with this is a dark comedy series on Netflix that follows the life of Sydney Novak a 17-year-old high school student struggling with the recent death of her father Sydney is trying really hard to grieve while navigating the trials of high school complicated friendships her waking sexuality and her very bad anger issues all while living in a small seemingly mundane town she doesn't really like she thinks she's boring and unimportant but Sydney's life takes an unexpected turn when she discovers she has telekinetic powers that are triggered by her emotions as she tries to understand and control these new abilities she is haunted Ed by mysterious occurrences and suppressed memories linked to her father's passing her powers become increasingly difficult to manage and soon things began to completely spiral out of control I am not okay with this is a collaboration between the producers of stranger things and the director of another Netflix gem the end of the [ __ ] world and may I say it was a perfect pairing this show is incredibly wellmade it's funny it's Charming it's really compelling at at times really sad the series delves into Sydney's internal battles which brings a lot of very real themes that obviously anyone who has been a teenager can relate to it masterfully explores The Angst and the awkwardness of growing up and it's done with a great deal of emotion all wrapped up in a supernatural Intrigue this one particularly hurts because one it ended on a massive Cliffhanger but two because it wasn't cancelled due to bad audiences or whatever it was cancelled because it was one of the shows Netflix decided to kill in order to cut costs during covid same goes for glow another excellent Netflix series that was cancelled after three seasons because of Co and that case was even worse because it had initially been renewed for a fourth season that would have been the end of the show and that renewal had been announced publicly but later Netflix came back on that decision and cancelled glow anyway and I cannot imagine what that must have felt like for the cast and crew it's already one thing to have your show be cancelled but having it be cancelled after it had already been announced to be renewed ouch that is a very brutal way to get fired like a very unique kind of hard break but yeah I am not okay with this was a very unfortunate loss this show deserved its second season it's one of the best shows Netflix has had in years I think it's been a little too long since it was cancelled for us to hope for a Revival and I will will be upset about that for the rest of my life I'm being dramatic again I'm being a little dramatic we can talk about it I'm being dramatic number two impulse despite my own suggestions earlier in this video I feel like I have spent the last few months endlessly complaining about my frustration with TV reboots and for good reason I [ __ ] hate TV reboots most of them are lazy uninspired trash but even though most of these reboots have been notoriously awful every now and then you do find a diamond in the roof and one of those diamonds is impulse a show that virtually nobody has even heard about and that even less people have seen this is the show that gives me faith that if made with heart certain TV reboots can be good and by God I have been meaning to talk about this show for a very long time so this section is going to be a little longer strap the [ __ ] in impulse is a TV reboot of the 2008 Hayden Christensen movie jumper about a 23-year-old crook named David who discovers he is a jumper a person who has the power to teleport to any place they can visualize in their minds David lives a life of luxury by stealing money with this ability for years but everything changes when he starts being hunted down by a shadow organization that seeks to exterminate jumpers from the world the movie is a very loose adaptation of a novel of the same name and it was a critical disaster when it came out jumper now has a bit of a cult following status but people really did not like this movie when it came out in 2008 especially people who had read the book the main criticism being that it took the concept of the source material and proceeded to dumb it down to a degree that ruined the whole story jumper very much is an over-the-top mindless action flick that is overall pretty forgettable in my opinion impulse is a much darker and grounded version of the premise the show came out in 201 18 and was produced by Doug Lyman who directed jumper and just like many other shows in this list it ran for two seasons before being cancelled and this show was really good this time around the story follows a teenage girl named Henrietta or Henry who is played by the incredibly underrated Maddie hson Henry is a troubled young girl who recently moved to a new town with her mother who fell in love with a man who lives there with his own daughter she has pretty bad behavior heral issues she's a rebel and a loner and she's not exactly the most pleasant person to be around when the Story begins we also learned that Henry is subject to somewhat frequent seizures but doctors can't really tell what causes them we see her have a seizure at school after getting into a heated argument with a teacher and it's even mentioned by her mother that she is forbidden from driving as a result because it could be extremely dangerous for her to be on the road by herself which is one of the reasons why her car was sold off paired with it being a punishment for her bad behavior but Henry is frustrated by that restriction and she decides to ask for the help of clay a popular boy at school who likes her to get her car back and that's exactly what they do but things take a very dark turn when after their little Escapade that clay boy takes Henry back to his truck and he sexually assaults her which causes Henry to panic and that Panic causes her to have another seizure except this time in the middle of her episode Henry accidentally unlocks her power for the very first time and she teleports out of the vehicle crashing into her own bedroom a second later however we later find out that her teleporting ability bends matter around her it's like a gravitational pool and in doing it in such an uncontrolled way teleporting in the middle of her seizure caused Henry to accidentally crush the truck she was in onto the boy who was in there with her almost killing him and leaving him per permanently paralyzed as a result Henry now has to learn to make sense of this new ability and at the same time this happens a mysterious man lurking in the shadows appears in town listen to me impulse was [ __ ] good okay and like not a a little bit good it was really good the World building is crazy the acting is on fire the characters are amazing this show just slaps from Midnight to midnight my boy Henry is an incredibly compelling protagonist with tons of layers A lot of the show following that first incident is about her psyche more specifically her emotions because her powers are directly linked to it her entire path of learning to control her teleportation is dependent on her ability to control her emotions which she's not very good at and that comes with deconstructing her past and deconstructing the trauma of the assault she was subjected to by Clay it's basically a very human story about trauma this disguised as this science fiction thing and contrary to jumper which was pretty much devoid of real themes and focused more on the grand spectacle of it all impulse is particularly grounded and isolated the idea of it being set in a shitty small town makes the story feel more intimate and makes for an incredibly compelling narrative a narrative that is supported by a large cast of Amazing characters from Henry's steps sister Jenna with who she has a very complicated LoveHate relationship her class made towns with who she builds an unlikely friendship and also one of the few main characters in a ya sci-fi fantasy story to be autistic to her mother Cleo who tries her best to be a good mother but always feels like she's not doing enough and the terrifying Bill Boone one of the most unsettlingly threatening antagonists I remember from the last few years I could go on and on this show is just awesome it's dark and gritty but also clever and Incredibly heartfelt so what happened why was this show cancelled well you don't have to look far for the answer it's actually very simple impulse was a YouTube original the end in case you don't remember because nobody does about five six years ago YouTube decided to start producing TV shows for the platform thinking it could potentially rival with the likes of Netflix that only lasted a couple of years before they killed it because people just weren't really subscribing to it and it was getting really expensive to make all these show shows but despite being kind of a flop YouTube Originals did give us some pretty solid shows that most people forget were YouTube Originals Cobra Kai was a YouTube original until they cancelled it and Netflix brought it back Wayne was another series that people seem to enjoy and that was cancelled after one season Liza on demand anybody remembers that anyone okay that probably wasn't a good example but impulse was easily the best of them but unlike Cobra Kai nobody stepped up to save the show when it was canceled after two seasons which sucks because the show ends on a massive Cliffhanger that was teasing a whole new level of World building for the story and it's very frustrating the show was cancelled in 2019 that was 5 years ago now so I think it's pretty dead in the water but God I would pay a lot of money to get a third season that wraps up the story I think it really deserves it and without spoiling anything the show ends in a way where you could sort of just ify picking it back up with a significant time Jump that would explain why the characters are now noticeably older if you want to watch impulse by the way uh it's still available on YouTube I think you should be able to watch the first episode for free you can just like search impulse on YouTube and it's going to be there so do yourself a favor watch it and somebody please get me a season 3 I want to know what happens next and finally number one dark Dark Angel this is it this is the show that made me want to make this video this is the show that solos all the other shows in this list and it's not even close I have been waiting to talk about this for so long and here we are so open your ears Dark Angel is a dark science fiction series that came out in 2000 and that was cancelled in 2002 and it was created by none other than and James Cameron the man who brought us Titanic Avatar and Terminator the show takes place in an alternate dystopian semi- post-apocalyptic future set in the year 2019 and tells the story of Max gavara played by Jessica Alba a Genetically Enhanced super soldier who escaped from the covert military facility that experimented on her as a child she grew up with an identification code as a name x54 52 and for the 10 years following her escape the now 19-year-old Max tries to live a normal life while being hunted down by men toore the secret government program that bioengineered raised and trained these super soldiers to become the most lethal assassins in the world so she keeps a low profile in Seattle but secretly tries to track down any of the other 11 children that escaped Menor with her but everything changes for Max when she meets a mysterious man named Logan a hacker and anti-establishment activist hiding among the elite who somehow seems to know who Max is and where she came from the show takes place in a broken version of the United States that essentially collapsed after an electromagnetic weapon destroyed computers and almost all forms of communication systems the country has become a wasteland of crime and misery where only the Uber Rich get to live a decent Life by day max Works an honest job to appear as normal as possible but by night she uses her super soldier abilities to continue her search and occasionally to steal valuable items from the Uber Rich to sell them off to the black market and make more money but when we meet her in the first season manacor is closing in on her she becomes a Target and reluctantly has to team up with Logan to try and dismantle the organization I think at the time the show premiered back in 2000 Dark Angel was the most expensive pilot ever produced it was massive for the time in an era where television was extremely formulated by Design with very little means the show premiered with a 2hour episode meaning the pilot is essentially a movie and it is shot like a movie that doesn't mean much today because we're used to big TV series being incredibly cinematic now but at the time having a TV show of this scope that looked like it had the production value of a big Hollywood film that was mindblowing people just didn't get to see that fact that let alone from a movie director that had made something as massive as Titanic just 3 years earlier in a weird way I think I would say that dark Angel's cancellation can entirely be chucked up to the fact that it was just way too ahead of its time this show came out like 20 years too early people were not ready for it and the network behind it didn't understand it either so despite being Uber successful the network made some incredibly stupid decisions in season 2 they moved the show to Friday nights which is essentially rating suicide and then when the ratings inevitably dropped as a result they got unhappy with their own decision and they canel the show because it was too expensive to make good job guys Dark Angel was continued in a series of Canon novels that pick up right after the events of season 2 I've never read them and most people do not even know these books exist anyway but the point is I don't think there is a single show in existence that is more deserving of a reboot than Dark Angel a brilliant idea that never got a chance to unlock its full potential and go where it wanted to go and having recently re-watch some of the show man it has aged surprisingly well for a 24-year-old series a lot of its ideas and mostly their execution still feel very unique and fresh it might have been a little too long to do a continuation now but I would be extremely into the idea of a reboot that fully executes the vision of the original series that said though I got to admit it's really hard to imagine anyone other than Jessica Alba playing the role of Max maybe we just do a continuation that takes place after a 20year time Jump bring back Jessica Alba and Jansen AOL I don't know call it dark angel 20139 or something I don't know I honestly don't know but this world this Incredible Universe that James Cameron created deserves another chance to exist I very firmly believe that that # Dark Angel 2039 get it trending on Twitter or something well that was my list if you have any other shows that came to mind and you think should be mentioned again feel free to leave them in the comments down below thanks for watching that's it for me see you next time do you remember me W
