I'm back outside Manchester Picadilly I've still got a few more stations on the Hope Valley Line to do so it's time to complete visiting every station on the Hope Valley Line come with [Music] [Music] me it wouldn't be padil without a last minute platform utation with it the Stoke train well mfield train decided it didn't want to move anymore blocking ours in so F least we on a train yeah be Michael causing the problem M [Music] field [Music] welcome to brinnington we're only here for half an hour it's a fairly basic station though over there the platforms used to be longer clearly there is a ticket office shelters there's not a lot to say about witon really speaking of the platforms used to being longer you still got the old um streetlight posts they've just got no heads on them so this is performance on time North Manchester 55% on time it's not great out there underways at the moment so brington doesn't have the best reputation in the area we're we're in Stockport and it's one of the more deprived areas of Stockport but but in the station ticket office there it's really well looked after as a swap shop and yeah it's really helped to bring down the antisocial behavior in the area we have a problem at the next station of Bradbury I only had 11 minutes but our next train is 8 minutes late this is going to be fun yes I just looked at my wrist when I don't have a [Music] watch the next station stop is Bradbury okay we're coming into Bradbury now we're going to have 3 or 4 minutes to run over the foot Bridge get to our other train luckily there's not a lot to say about bread Brey so this is more going to be a ticking exercise I think we're going to make the train I think it's going to be okay this is radbury thing I've always noticed about bread it has unusual signs like that's a design you don't normally see on the Northern Network I think it was an experimental version of the station sign that was never actually used okay we're almost definitely going to make it it's 4 minutes to get from here to [Applause] there platform made it I had enough time to walk down the platform B view next this is Bell View this is bvw station the station I think should actually be called Gorton station cuz Gorton station is nowhere near Gorton bvw is closer to Gorton than and gon we got 20 something minutes here so not a rush light bread Brey let's have a look around just noticed the platform has been extended by a little bit I'm going to Hazard a guess this is something to do with introducing four car trains down here but it's like that much right by the station of B there used to be the old BW Zoological Gardens it's like an old Zoo amusement park EX you all all of that now long since gone all that's left is a Speedway that's just behind me on kman Lane it's all just a bit Grim around here I'm not going to lie should we go back to the station the station itself is on hide road which is like the main a57 into Manchester fun fact you'll notice a lot of houses have already been demolished on one side of the road because it was meant to be one of the motorways coming into Manchester that plan has long since been dropped and like there's newer development on one side than there is on the other because space was left for the motorway it's a very weird place to put a station sign platform's all the way down there also I've note because of like the old zoo and amusement park Etc used to be a much better used station and as such it used to have four platforms so it's one of those stations that is a shadow of its former self we're going to be on this train for 1 minute it's going to be a long journey now we will shortly be arriving at [Music] R right the brow station there is literally nothing here but there's interesting things between here and our next station of reddish North so what we're going to do we're going to take a bit of a walk to reddish North and look at some of these interesting [Applause] things hello we've got a friend and we got somebody looking over with jealousy over there hello hello small KY you're friendly hello hi sweetheart so I'm stood on whand road which is this little dead end in East Manchester but it's very wide this doesn't feel like a dead end that's because this is actually where the planned Manchester Eastern bypass was meant to go it's meant to go from up from Broadway down to Heaton chapel and if you know where to look there's loads of evidence of where the plan route was supposed to go there's even a couple of roads that are called Eastern bypass yeah very very obvious if you know where to look and this is where it was meant to be nerd it would have come from behind the camera where I've just been this road magically ends but the obvious route is very obvious so while I'm walking along what would have been the Manchester Eastern bypass it seems like a really great moment to say a massive thank you to my lovely patreons they all scrolling on the screen right now without their support things like this wouldn't be possible thank you guys so much if you want to get your name onto the list the links to do so are in the description but seriously thank you thank you thank you the actual physical road called whand Road ended back there but this Rouses here still technically part of Wayland Road it's just a little foot path on that side so there's only this narrow foot bridge over the railway now I would assume if this plan had have actually been built that would have to been replaced it's not the kind of place you want to be at night around here so here on this side of the ra Bridge very obvious where the bypass was meant to go but also of note here this is the site of the old redish Depo it's now a newb built housing estate but it used to serve all of the electric trains for the wood headline it was actually situated on the ffield loop which is now closed we talked about that when we were at Fairfield in one of the previous videos yeah the ffield loop is now a walking a cycling route and we're going to go on it for a little bit just on the other side of this estate so I thought we were going to be going down the ffield loop but to check the map we're not we are going to go over it though and the bridge is somewhere around here I hope I totally know where I'm going okay so this is an old Bri noisy football people this is an old bridge over the ffield loop clearly used to be a road of some kind but now just a foot path and down there you can see what is now the cycling route you can tell this used to be a road bridge because you can see all the old curbs down the side that side just overgrown much wider I didn't realize how long this walk was going to be we've made it to reddish South so we've made it to reddish North time to catch our last train somebody needs to tell them that gmpte kind of like stopped existing a while ago so while reddish North was originally the smaller of the twoed stations it's definitely now the bigger and the better served station right so this is our last station we're going to get a train to Manchester shortly just so I can say that I've actually left reddish North and that's the end of The Hope Valley series it took me a long time to actually complete it I'm sorry it took so long I'm going leave a link here to the next video that I think you should watch but until next time bye-bye
