A rail replacement bus finally gets me - visiting every station on the North Wales Main Line

I've been visiting every station on the North Wales Main Line I've even been trying to pronounce this station droo go go go today I'm visiting the final three stations and ending at hollyood come and join [Music] me this is the quietest train that we've be on so far today tqu it's okay one of the things I am learning about being on angle SE is it's really nice I wasn't expecting to like it this much I think this would have I was expecting it to be a bit of a come down after the the rest of the North Wales Coast but no this is amazing I can see just over there there's a coach waiting that's because we need to get on that coach it's time for a rail replacement bus I'm looking over there is that an old windmill that's had its sails removed I like that like that this is so much better than hide Central the platform here is staggered so this is a platform towards hollyhead that's a platform towards Chester that platform is currently closed cuz I think they're installing a Harrington hump um so none of the trains going that way are stopping there which is why cuz we're going borgan next we're getting on that coach but just opposite there's the remains of some kind of platform I don't see how that could have been in use because the signal box is in the way so another one for the comments what is that platform type thing was that every in use so that's the platform that's currently closed yes that does look very l so I can see why they're installing a hump can just about make out in the distance cuz they used to have these um steps used to use to step up on the train see them discarded on the side there but yeah teys getting a Harington up on this side it's also really nice as like one of the oldfashioned Gated level Crossings there's no trains coming so we can't get video of it opening and closing but I guess our well replacement bus I wait I wouldn't like to be a car can we either way around [Music] [Applause] [Music] here B rail replacement bus borgan well that was an experience a big coach going around Little W country lanes but we're here now oh this is a bit of nice the way that things have planned out with that V replacement bus it's actually saved us from being here for an hour and 40 minutes cuz we made it just in time to get another train going the other way in about 10 minutes time in that original plan I was kind of dreading spending that long here cuz there's not actually a lot here but it's so beautiful so nice I think in hindsight I would have liked that there's a lot of similarities here between here and Valley in terms of the buildings that are just over there uh longer platform though but it's got the steps this is what's being replaced at TR how am I getting interrupted at borgan are you stopping at CL PG n don't it [Music] mate that's the first time today I've actually seen a train not stop at request stop does seem to be rare at most of these stations like especially uh clamp PG that's being used a lot like every time we've gone through it there's clearly people here that are looking after the station I think one of those Planters said it's been adopted by the local wa has there ever been like a bay platform or anything here because there's evidence of that over on that side [Music] good cuz that's where we're going next G warned me that the shelter was full of spiders but I can't see any spiders there's no spiders here kill an hour and 40 minutes here was to to go and walk around that Lake over there looking at it it's bigger than it looked on a map and I'm not sure we' have been able to do it in that time now I think I recognize those headlights I think we're on a 197 to finish off the day first and last 197 of the day I don't care what people say I do really like the 197s mean glamorous assistant says they're ugly but I'm not vain like that I was right it is a [Music] 197 so the the display is saying that this train has been delayed by a points failure I mean we're only a minute late speaking of points failures I haven't been pointing much this video have a point right the next and final stop for us will be Holly head the next station will be our final stop so that's the newer embankment onto holy Island that carries the 855 built in [Applause] the90s we are now approaching hly head which is our final stop there is hollyhead this seems like an interesting place the platforms all over the place like this we've come in on platform 2 there's a platform there that's clearly not used platform 3 is over there and Platform One is like all the way over there weird station but quirky I like [Music] quirky that's a retro departure screen I get the impression that this station hasn't seen much love oh look how blue the water is uh no so you can see the layout of the station better from this side platform two where we came in platform three over on that side Platform One is back there and that's where the passenger ships used to come into um so you Lally jump off a train pretty much straight onto a ferry so the whole Port has been redeveloped and changed since then this bridge and the road bridge over there means that ships they stand no chance of getting there the ships are over there somewhere now so needs to tell hollyhead that ww doesn't exist anymore so this is it hollyhead we've made it to the end of the North Wales Coastline I hope you've enjoyed joining me for this
