all right guys welcome back to another wrath video so this is going to be broken down into three parts mainly because there's a lot to talk about and i don't want the video to be overly long so today we're going to look at the feral druid and then throughout the week we'll look at balance and resto and then we'll work our way through all the classes and specs some classes such as warlocks mages basically where they're just pure dps we'll just cover all the specs in one video but as i say there's quite a lot of detail to get through and i didn't want this being a 40 45 minute video just looking at the druid right off the bat we're going to answer a couple of questions before we start looking at new spells talents and general performance first question being do you still power shift as a feral dps no you don't we're going to look at why do you still use your wolf's head helmet the level 40 blue which you'll be very familiar with i would afford no you don't and we're going to get into why that is but that all plays a part into why you no longer power shift obviously we're also going to look at bear tanking as well but there's no major questions that i feel like need answering straight away so i'm sure a lot of it will be cleared up as we go through the video before we get started make sure you like and subscribe for lots more future raf content between now and launch and obviously throughout because as i say even if you're not a druid and you're waiting for a specific class it will be coming to the channel as well as pre-ray biss gearing and just all everything that you need to know to arm yourself ready for wrath of the lich king and if you're watching thinking it's too soon to be talking about raph check the video up there i'll put a link in the description below as well that'll answer exactly why i'm talking about it now and roughly when we could be expecting wrath of the lich king classic just a quick thank you on the screen as well to all of you guys that have joined the channel as a member it really does support the channel helps keeping me here pumping out the content that you want to see and thank you to all the twitch subscribers as well if you want to see me live stream over on twitch it's scottyj87 link also in the description below now let's get started now some of the big things that change for a feral in wrath of the lich king is no more power shifting no more wolf's head helm and actually just having a much cleaner better rotation although the difficulty is still there and when i say the difficulty is still there i would say wrath of the lich king is definitely a step up in difficulty from a rotation perspective because you're no longer as a feral dps i'm talking about now we will get onto tanking shortly but you're no longer just you know power shift shred shred power shift shred shred you know you've actually got a lot of plates like spinning plates and lots of things that you need to be tracking and making sure that you're getting the most out of basically every global cooldown that you've got now there's some major things that i want to talk about first and if we start with the big one which i consider it quite a big one because omen of clarity has had a rework it's still in the same position it still requires 11 points in resto but it has a chance to proc off of spells and the reason this is a big one is because it will now proc off of your feral fairy fire where ordinarily you're keeping fairy fire up and you only use it pretty much just to keep the armor reduction up on them on the mob or on the boss or whatever now you actually use it as a filler as dps because it procs omen of clarity so if you've got no energy or you're waiting you're pulling your energy because savage raw is about to drop off you've got five combo points you don't want to waste them you know you're waiting and just pulling that energy then fairy fire is a good way to just be able to force omen of clarity procs and it actually in all fairness procs really really frequently now let's cover why you don't power shift as a feral in wrath of the lich king the biggest change to this is actually the way that energy works and your fuel talent so energy where you get x amount every two seconds in classic and tbc now it's just normalized so you're getting a constant flow of energy coming in so there is no power shifting just before you get a tick of additional energy because you're constantly getting ticks of energy that on top of the fact that fuel now i'll read it for you gives you 60 chance to gain 10 rage when you shapeshift into bear and dire bear form and you keep up to 60 energy when you shapeshift into cat obviously that will be up to a hundred percent energy if you've got five points in it so it's retaining energy now rather than gaining energy so if you shapeshift on zero energy when you shape-shift back in you'll have zero energy where the original furor which i'll put on screen now actually gives you energy the fuel will change and on top of that you're not going to want a level 40 head when you're now level 80 because that would just be ludicrous but the main thing is the fact that fuel changed and the way the energy tick actually works it doesn't tick anymore it's just a constant flow so now as a feral dps now you know that you're not going to power shift what do you do before we look at exactly what you're going to do let's look at the talents and look at the major we're not going to go through every single talent we'll just look at the big ones that have either been added or changed so when we look at the feral tree this might answer some questions when it comes to abilities and stuff like that as well so big ones that have changed fairly instinct for example now it gives you a 30 additional damage to swipe which is both useful for bear and cat because yes you're gonna get cat swipe which we will get into shortly you've now got a personal cooldown which you can use in both bear and cat form which when activated this ability temporary grants you 30 of your maximum health for 20 seconds so this is like a mini last stand if you like as a warrior sorry just adjusting the camera so you've actually got a decent cooldown outside of bark skin which by the way when we get to how the abilities have changed bark skin is even better than it was as well now you now get 10 expertise rating from primal precision which is two points which obviously any expertise is amazing but getting 10 points of expertise it just from you know two points in talent is obviously really really good feral charge has moved slightly so it's moved further down the tree and the reason for this is because feral ferry fire if i put the tbc talent calculator open next to this you'll see obviously feral fairy fire is just a trained ability now it's no longer a talent so feral charges move down but the good thing about this is feral charge also works with your cat as well now so feral charge cat causes you to leap behind an enemy daze in them for three seconds with a 30 second cooldown there are minor changes like savage fury moving from sort of the fifth fifth or sixth tier in the tbc calculator up to the second tier because it's basically swaps places with brutal impact but i'm not going to go too much over the minor changes we'll just look at the big ones so another big one would be protector of the pack which increases your attack power by two percent and reduces the damage you take by four percent while in bear or diver form so as a tank you're absolutely gonna want this and i think this is probably a good time to mention the fact that in tbc and vanilla you could almost dps and tank in the same spec it's not quite like that in wrath of the lich king don't get me wrong you could sort of tank five mans and stuff like that but if you're wanting to like tank raids to a good standard but also do the best amount of or the most amount of damage that you can do you're going to struggle doing that in a single spec because there are so many talents that are actually really good for bear or for cat you know not necessarily for both although a lot of them are obviously very good for both but you would struggle to get everything you want in bear and everything you want in cat in one spec so fortunately we get joel speck obviously in wrath of the lich king so you might go feral feral so you've got cat and bear you could make a balanced speck to excel in tanking but only be you know you'll still be good at doing damage but not optimal at doing damage so you could see a lot of druids doing that me personally you know as a feral dps i'll be going pure feral dps talents and not worrying about tanking at all so something like protector at a pack is not something that would make it into my spec then we've got predatory instincts which it's exactly the same except for it's just been shrunk down from five points this is a big one so king of the jungle while using your enrage ability in bare form or dire bear form your damage is increased by 15 so this is great for tanking great for you know threat the main thing here for feral dps is the fact that your tiger's fury now instantly restores 60 energy in addition the mana cost of bare form cat form and diabetes forms reduced by 60 so obviously that's a nice side benefit but on the basis you're not power shifting you know this is not a big as big a deal as it would be you know if we was like in tbc still tigers fury is free it costs zero energy so you actually use this as an integral part of your rotation so you use it to gain that 60 energy when you need it and you almost always want to keep your tigers fury on cooldown whereas at the moment you might not even have it bound in cbc you've got improved mangle as well now which reduces the cooldown of your mangled bear and it also reduces the energy cost of mangled cat the reason this isn't a big deal for cat but is a bigger deal for bear is because you only use mangle just to keep the debuff up whereas for bear obviously being able to reduce the cooldown is a massive increase in threat and this is what i mean there's lots of talents where they may do something for both bear and cat but they're a lot more useful for one than the other so as a pure bad bear tank you probably would take these the improved mangle as a cat not so much and then moving down now we're looking at the brand new talent so we've got brendan tear which increases damage done by maul and shred attacks on bleeding targets by 20 so this is both good for bear and cat and it also increases the critical strike chance of ferocious bite ability on bleeding targets by 25 which again is amazing and then primal gore grants the periodic damage from your lacerate and rip abilities to be able to critically hit before i talk about these these two let's just also get berserk out of the way which when activated this ability causes your mangle bear to hit up to three targets which is absolutely amazing for for multi multi mob tanking or small packs and it has no cooldown so you can just literally spam mangle and you'll be putting them all in there as well because you can get glyph of more which makes more hit an additional target as well and it reduces the energy cost of all platform abilities by 50 last 15 seconds and you can't use tiger's fury while berserk is active it also clears the effect of fear and makes you immune to fear for the duration it's such a multi-purpose ability and if we start with brendan tear now you're gonna be keeping your aim is to keep rip up 100 of the time and then if your rotation the fight the particular fight you're on allows it to be using ferocious bite to obviously get that extra 25 critical hit chance from ferocious biting on a bleeding target either way you'll start using rake as a main part of your rotation as well as a feral dps in wrath so you're always gonna have a bleed on so if a mob was about to die you can benefit from that 25 percent critical hit chance on a bleeding target by having break you know having rake on the target and then using ferocious bite but the fact that rip can concrete is massive and there's actually a tear set you can get later on down the line where rake also can critically hit the the actual periodic damage of it so bleeds are incredibly important in wrath of the lich king and if we talk about berserk i mean the the fact that you have got a cooldown you know a dps cooldown is amazing the fact it makes you immune to fear is even better especially on certain fights there's nothing more annoying than popping cooldowns and then getting feared we know that the fact that you can't use tiger's fury with berserk at the same time is not an issue because ordinarily what you would do is get your rotation underway so you would for example you know charge in as you know or leaping as a cat but it is still charged even though it leaps it should have been called feral leap you know get your mangle up get your savage roar up get a rake up tigers fury to get to full full energy and then pop berserk and then get get going with your rotation from there so you're not going to like charging and berserk straight away you're going to want to get rid of some energy to pop tiger's fury to go into berserk and then that it really just helps get all your bleeds up straight away get a five-point savage raw it it massively helps at the start of the fight and if we look at some of the resto talents that are useful there's no useful balance talents at all for feral but we'll have a quick look at sort of the first few tears of resto because they do play a big part and there's a new talent in there which is actually quite juicy so improved mark of the world has changed from tbc to wrath of the lich king as well at the at the moment in tbc all it does is increases you know the effectiveness of mark of the wild it still does that with these two points not five points anymore but you also get all your attributes in increased by two percent so that's why you take that and fewer or because you're not power shifting you know it's nice to be able to retain some energy if you came out to pop and innovate on someone or do a tranquility or something like that but you don't really need five points in fuel at all you're really just putting the three points in it just to move down to the next tier naturalist this is where you get your 10 physical damage so you know again not a lot to talk about there natural shapeshifter still does the same thing but now we get master shape shifter so you're going to want master shapeshifter as any speck of druid you go because it gives every single one of them a good bonus so for bear form it increases physical damage by four percent for cat form it increases critical strike chance by four percent for moonkin it increases spell damage by four percent and for trio life increases healing by four percent so that's a really really big bonus and it doesn't matter what spec druid you're going to be you're absolutely going to be going for this talent and then obviously the last one we've got there is i'm going to clarity and not only does it proc off spells it's actually a passive ability now as well so you never need to worry about it being on your character because as long as you've got a point in the talent it's always active the last talent really worth talking about when it comes to feral in the resto tree is the fact that intensity still does the same thing so you get your mana regen and enrage also gives you that instant rage from using it but any further down than that you're not really going to get any bonus as a feral druid going in the resto tree now we've looked at talents it's worth having a quick look at glyphs if you don't know about glyphs there's a new profession that gets introduced in wrath of the lich king which is inscription an inscription can make glyphs which basically alter the way certain abilities work it could just be flat out increasing damage sometimes it's changing the ability a little bit more than just flat out damage now i'll put some of them on screen but we'll really just talk about the important ones for feral or the ones that i consider important for feral so if we start with feral dps so savage raw glyph of shred and rip are pretty much the go-to glyphs for a cat because your savage raw ability grants an additional three percent bonus damage savage raw does 30 it's a flat 30 physical damage increase whilst you keep it up which we're going to get into that when we look at the new abilities that raf brings glyph of shred each time you shred the duration of your rip on the target is extended to two seconds up to a maximum of six seconds so an extra six seconds on your rip is huge and then also glyph of rip which increases the duration of rip ability by four seconds so all in all you're increasing your rip up time by 10 seconds which just gives you the ability to get more ferocious bites in and then for bear we've got glyph of growl which increases the chance your growl ability to work successfully by eight percent glyph of friends in regen which you've got friended regen on which still does the same thing so it regens a bunch of health but whilst it's on you you're actually taking 20 percent more healing done as well and survival instincts ability grants an additional 15 of your maximum health so now the talent survival instincts where you get 30 maximum health you're now getting 45 which is massive but a couple of additional ones that i'd like to talk about is glyph of mall so like i mentioned earlier your mall ability now hits one additional target which for aoe tanking or when you've got berserk up so you're like more mangle spamming on you know two three mobs your damage will be insane and then also got glyph of mangle which just flat out increases the damage done by mangle by 10 there are some minor ones which pretty much every druid is going to want to use for example glyph of unburdened rebirth so you don't need a reagent for your rebirth anymore challenging raw which reduces the cooldown of your challenging raw you really that is for a tank more than anything else but when it comes to minor glyphs there isn't that much that's really that you really need there's one for aquatic form there's one for thorns that increases the duration of your forms by 50 minutes so that's quite nice because you just need to worry about it less or there's another one which is called glyph of the wild which reduces the mana cost of mark of the world and gifted a while by 50 but none of the minor ones are really worth worrying about too much now i'm not going to talk about like all the abilities that all the specs get we're just going to focus on feral as i say so we'll look at what a feral druid gets but to be honest there's not really that much added to feral but you know there are some certain spells added to boomi and resto which we'll get to in their individual videos a couple of couple of changes or big things that change with abilities is you now get an out of combat red so you get revive which is good and bad because i hate rezzing people you know it's bad enough having to do it once every 30 minutes for a combat res but now you've got no excuse to stand there looking pretty while the rest of the raid res is everyone because you can do it yourself as well with all the mount changes and in cost and level that you can learn them which i do talk about in the video up there so feel free to check that out i'll also put that video in the link in the description below as well you get travel form at 16. now this is probably not gonna be relevant to you because odds are you're probably already playing a druid not actually like watching this to level one but maybe you are maybe you see this video and you're like you know what actually i want to go druid so if you do want to go druid you get travel form at 16 now which is quite nice and also i mentioned bark skin earlier so bark skin went for a change as well a really really good change for both feral and well i want to say feral amber i mean cat or bear and it means it can be used in forms so the druid skin becomes as tough as bark all damage taking is reduced by 20 while protected damage and attacks will not cause spell casting delays so that portion's the same still and this spell is usable while stunned frozen incapacitated feared or asleep and as i say usable in all forms so if there's some aoe that's about to go out and you want some personal cooldowns you've got if you talent it you've got your survival instincts to increase your maximum health and you can bark skin as well now i don't want to say this is a massive one but it really is when you think about it but entangling roots can also now be used indoors so you've got a really really solid cc and i should have mentioned it when we were talking about talent but it ties really nicely in with predatory strikes so predatory strikes other than the giving you the attack power that you're used to you have a 20 chance basically per combo point to give you an instant cast spell so if you do a five point combo rip you're going to get predatory strikes up which now you can either do an instant cast hill for example or if you're in charge of keeping a mob cc'd it's not that punishing it's still punishing it's going to be a dps loss don't get me wrong but if you're timing it right you can keep a mob rooted that maybe you're rooting at your focus target and you've got that mob set as your focus while you're nuking down another target and there is going to be circumstances particularly in 10 man raiding less 25 because there's going to be a lot more cc available in 25 man but in 10 man raiding or maybe even heroics this can be incredibly useful if you have your ui set up properly and you're using it right so predatory strikes with entangling roots being able to be used indoors as feral as a cc is absolutely amazing then we've got savage raw which this is a big one this is what changes the way you really approach a feral druid especially from a dps perspective so finish it's a finishing move that increases physical damage done by 30 percent says 33 percent on mine because i've got it glyphed and it's only usable while in cat form last longer per combo point so this can almost be compared to a rogue's slice and die so bro keeps slicing dice up for extra speed or haste you know attack speed we keep savage roar up for more damage and this is where i said spinning plates comes in so if we just talk about sort of what a basic rotation looks like don't get me wrong i will be doing an in-depth wrap of the lich king feral guide but just the basics are you want to keep up fairy fire you want to keep up mangle you want as close to 100 uptime on rake and rip and you need savage roar up at all times you never want to be put in a five-point rip up without savage raw because you're going to lose 30 damage or 33 damage with a glyph same really goes for rake you're not going to want to be raking before you've got a savage roar up and then whilst you're waiting for energy you can be trying to force omen of clarity procs by using ferry fire at the same time you're going to be weaving in your tiger's fury to gain that extra energy and obviously using berserk to reduce the energy of your abilities now like i say you normally use berserk in your open up with tiger's fury into a berserk in the opener and then just use it when it comes back again if you get it back during the fight assuming it lasts longer than three minutes but you're spinning a lot of plates and this is where a lot of druids foul you know they're like oh no what do i do my savage drawer is about to fall off so is rip what do i prioritize they get that wrong they lose a lot of damage it's about understanding exactly what you need to be doing and when you need to be doing it and when you can ferocious bite you know you don't want to be using a five-point ferocious bite on a target that's got two seconds left on rip for example and maybe you've only got four or five seconds on savage raw you need to make decisions on the fly so it's quite a complicated dps spec but ultimately if you can do it and you can do it well it's very rewarding now the big one that i've not mentioned and i say it's the big one because it is the big one and that is the fact that you can actually do extremely competent aoe now as a feral and if it's a small pack of mobs that don't actually have that much health being able to swipe until you've got no energy and then tiger's fury to get another couple of swipes out the the burst damage potential is absolutely insane and again couple that with berserk which reduces the cost of swipe by fifty percent you can literally go in swipe swipe tigers fury berserk swipes right you know spam swipe as long as you've got savage rora obviously or you're losing 30 damage off the bat and trust me you will you will and can on short burst aoe fights absolutely top the damage meters popping all your cooldowns and spamming swipe and that's about it when it comes to feral dps you sort of know the new abilities what new talents you've got you know sort of how to use them as well so a little bit about bear now bear is still really strong really strong tank and the aoe tanking is yeah all the aoe capability of all the tanks is sort of exceptional now but feral you get uncapped swipe now so swipe will just hit everything maul being able to hit an additional target from glyphs is massive berserk and then spamming mango on free targets is massive the only downside to bears or something that changed was bonus armor the way bonus armor works we know you can reach the armor cap in tbc because all the bonus armor is then multiplied by your bare form that isn't the case anymore so any items that have got bonus armor on that is what you get if it says 400 bonus armor that that's what you get it does it's not multiplied by you know the percentage the 400 armor percent from your bare form for example there's really strong but as i say that's just a minor change that i wanted to at least make you aware of and there's not that many things that are that interesting to talk about a bear tank about really because you will still be you know you'll still be pretty much tanking how you tank now keeping lacerate up more mangle if it's you know adds if there's ads you'll be more than swiping you know if you use enrage you're going to get extra damage so you might couple your enrage with berserk so you can like get the 15 extra damage and start smashing free targets with mangle spam the damage potential of a bear is absolutely huge but overall there's not really that much that changes from tbc to wrath other than the fact that your aoe tanking now is absolutely solid and the same applies again if you've got nothing to press you press feral ferry fire to try and force over the clarity prox i think that's about where i want to leave it you know i think we've covered enough we've looked at you know feral dps talents and new abilities feral tank talents and new abilities we've spoke about how to use them i feel like we've gone through quite a lot of detail there so if you found this useful please do make you make sure you hit the like button subscribe to the channel consider joining as a member on the channel as well check me out over on twitch and i look forward to seeing you on the next one peace out
