Just a bit of context here:

Jean-Claude Van Damme competed with the Belgian National Karate Team at age 15, had a competitive record of 44 wins - 4 losses in semi-contact matches, and earned his blackbelt at age 18. He also has a competitive kickboxing record of 19 wins - 1 loss (18 wins by knockout).

The only real accomplishments of Seagal in the world of martial arts is being adept at Akido, which by definition involves the other guy deliberately taking a fall so the other can "apply the technique". In other words basically useless if the other person is actually fighting back.

So yeah, I'll take the black belt over the guy who's performance on the mat is as fake as it is on screen.

This doesn't even come close to the more recent video of him doing a "martial arts" demonstration in Russia. His cheeseburger body goes out in front of a crowd in full karate gear and then dudes run at him and pretend to be fully thrown to the ground just by Steven barely touching them or moving at all. Wish I had the clip on hand.
