What If France Made An Empire In 2021?

hello everyone and today we're going to be looking at a scenario where france starts a new empire this video is going to be based in 2021 so we have the 2021 borders of the world and yeah if you colored in red and obviously whatever country france attacks is going to be in blue also you might have noticed that i have a new background now if you haven't noticed that then i don't know how you didn't but basically i can go like this now and be all the way over here now i'm not actually going to be doing that in videos obviously i just think that having a background that isn't solid black is a lot better for videos because you can kind of like if you ever get bored you know you just look back there and see all the weird stuff on my shelf don't worry the shelf isn't going to be like that forever i'm going to actually rearrange it put some stuff on it but uh for now until i finish recording this video it's gonna be looking like that now the first thing that this french empire does is i like the monarch now you can't really be an empire without a monarch so they do just that after this they decide to kind of go up north and take over the french part of belgium now they don't want to do this alone so they forge an alliance with the netherlands if you don't know belgium's situation it's like this so basically we have all the french speaking population under this line all of the dutch speaking population above it in a little bit of german over here in the east so we're going to be having france and the netherlands declaring war on belgium now considering these small armies of the lowland countries this is going to be a brief invasion and just like that belgium is invaded by the netherlands and france and just like that we have the deletion of belgium up north here in france now if uh for say an american were to look at this map they'd see no difference anyway from here the netherlands is going to be represented by a darker red just to kind of symbolize that it is an ally and not a part of france so from here france just kind of moves over to the east and takes over luxembourg with ease and now we are starting to see that france is getting thicker so now france has to make a decision it only has about three countries it can really attack which would be spain italy and germany it could attack switzerland but then you'd have to move through mountains but then again you'd also have to move through mountains for spain and italy so uh yeah also the ardenes so yeah france has to make a decision here it's kind of sandwiched so france does make the uh i guess smarter decision to invade switzerland so the french troops start to traverse the alp mountains now this isn't easy and i'm not saying that this is all happening rapidly this is most likely a slower process but eventually burn is captured and switzerland falls in the peace journey we just have straight up annexation of switzerland which kind of leaves us with a border gorish map but don't worry because now france is going to be going to war with italy so at first the french troops that were in switzerland start to push down into italy meanwhile we have italian troops pushing up and capturing corsica we also have french troops pushing over into southern france not only does france have a bigger army than italy but they've also probably gained troops from belgium luxembourg and switzerland so with this they moved down and cut off the italian troops that were invading in the south from here we have a push in and they eventually surround these troops after squeezing in on all sides the italian troops surrender with this we have friends starting to storm northern italy and taking over vast amounts of land also if it isn't obvious already nato the eu the u.n that doesn't exist in this scenario in order for france to actually become an empire we need to eradicate all alliances so uh that's already been done anyway france continues its push down south and starts to get near rome france also makes the landing on corsica and pushes down into sardinia from here the french troops continue to push down into italy and eventually capture rome and eventually the country of italy surrenders when the peace treaty is over with we are left with france that looks like this so they've been next to all northern italy and have created a i guess a vassal or a puppet of southern italy they've also annexed the island of sardinia and yeah so now uh they have a lot more options over here in the balkans but i really doubt that france would want to go that far instead france starts to eye up germany so after preparing both of their armies both the netherlands and france go to war with germany since this was a surprise invasion france right away has the advantage pushing through southern germany we also have the dutch pushing in from the west eventually both of their fronts are connected and the sole push in the germany has started luckily for germany though the dutch haven't been doing much recruitment and easily push back them from their borders from here they start a small push into the northern netherlands but this isn't seen as a significant cause because you know the french are in the south so after almost making it to amsterdam they just kind of give up and focus on their southern front which has been expanding not in their favor after months of fighting eventually germany is cut back down to this now essentially bavaria is just going to be lost because it's disconnected so germany eventually surrenders so once again looking at the peace treaty here we actually have the dutch who benefit more from this now they've taken over a lot of western germany which is very industrial i think but we also have france taking over southwestern germany and puppeting vassalizing bavaria anyway so now we have a europe that is heavily influenced by france we have a lot of these countries that probably border france and bavaria who are going to be influenced by them and probably are going to try to improve their relations with them but the main sore thumb for france right now is going to be spain and britain so how does france respond with that well they respond with the declaration of war now the dutch aren't going to be involved with this one because they don't really have an interest being involved with this instead they're probably going to be working on kind of converting well i guess converting isn't a good word but but they're going to be working on these german areas just to kind of make them settle down so yeah anyway we have the war with france down here right away since france is primarily working off of sneak attacks they start to push into northern spain they meet up with catalonia who decides to rebel at this time and actually get a pretty good front anyway we also have rebels over here in galicia and rebels in southern spain so spain really isn't that stable we also have portugal joining the war for i don't know why but just to kind of gang bang spain i guess and eventually all sides push in and spain collapses also the annexation of andorra kind of just happens alright so taking a look at the peace treaty we have a balkanized spain so yeah we have france taking over pretty much all northern spain we have the release of galicia we have the recent southern spain we have portugal getting lands and we have catalonian independence now since catalonia was uh i guess technically helped out by the french all these other countries were helped out by france but not as much as catalonia who had direct french support so catalonia decided to join this new french alliance so once again in the red we have france the pink is a puppet of france and the darker red is an ally of france so france is pretty much done with europe we would most likely have a hundred years war part two but not for this video instead we're gonna be having a conference of berlin version two which really isn't better so the first thing france does is declare war on algeria now remember once again all alliances have been disbanded so northern africa will not help out algeria in this scenario france now has an army of about 1 million personnel which is comparable to the us and china which that's a lot of people in an army so they make their landing in northern algeria from here they start to push along the coast now saharan desert exists so this is pretty much all useless the french push over and take algiers now uh if you don't know anything about africa once again saharan desert so uh losing your capital city and all of your coast means that the rest of this country is kind of i don't want to say useless but there's not much there so the french starts to sweep down but eventually the government surrenders and we have the french annexation of algeria except it's going to be under direct french rule it isn't going to be a colony this is now a part of france so france has just doubled in size and is probably going to want to continue to expand their colonies so going over to south america we have suriname and guyana which are right here so in south america we're going to be having france kind of taking over the english colony of uh guyana and the dutch are going to be taking back suriname just kind of skipping ahead in the war i would be a pretty simple war uh here we have the france kind of reinstating their colonies in south america and finally for one last war now i know i said i was done with africa but uh yeah let's just do this so france is not going to be at war with all their former african colonies here wait i don't remember if this so france is now war with all of their former colonies here and uh yeah once again saharan desert but we're going to be ignoring that for the scenario and france starts to push in from algeria now these countries aren't necessarily the richest countries so france easily takes them out and conquers them and with that we have a creation of two more french colonies in africa now these are actually colonies this one isn't a colony but these two are taking a look ahead in the future we actually have galicia joining in on the french alliance and we also have all the balkans being influenced by france now i know i said this earlier but now that francis kind of made itself a superpower and a well-known superpower around the world the balkans have fully switched over to french influence so yeah this is what would happen if france decided to make an empire in 2021 now this isn't what would actually happen this is a fictional scenario like all my videos are so yeah there's that but it is fun to kind of look at these fictional scenarios and see what could happen if you guys enjoyed this video make sure to leave a like on it
