minecraft has been around for over 10 years now and alongside it has minecraft youtubers throughout its course minecraft has its fair share of ups and downs as well as bumps in the road a bit over a month ago now i made a video discussing some of the most popular minecraft youtubers of all time and where they are now the video displayed that not all minecraft youtubers who provided us with hundreds of hours of entertainment during our earlier years survived not all of them made it out to the other side minecraft's different popularity during 2016 took many channels with it and in my previous video i only focused on five channels but there were many more today we're going to be exploring more popular minecraft youtubers and where they are today are they still relevant do they still get views or are they gone from youtube entirely well let's get right into it but first we need to go through a brief recap of what happened during minecraft's full in popularity during 2015 and 2016. basically the game hit an all-time low in terms of popularity largely due to a multitude of reasons such as the lackluster or disliked updates including 1.9 or burnout from the game as it had been popular for almost 5 years at this point due to this some popular minecraft youtubers jumped ship testing the waters of other games or other content some stuck with minecraft though and decided to ride it out then during late 2018 with the release of 1.13 a major update to the game minecraft began to increase in popularity once more and then in early 2019 it blew up with dozens of new content being made for the game from pewdiepie's let's plays to the new 1.14 update the game was peaking in popularity once more taking youtube by storm and it would continue like this into 2020. however the youtubers who are making minecraft content now are not the same as the youtubers were making minecraft content back in 2013 and 2014 so who made it out who survived this roller coaster that was minecraft's popularity well the first youtuber on the list is one of the ogs one you probably all know it is none other than the famous captain sparkles beginning on a different channel and playing call of duty he eventually switched to his now famous channel captain sparkles believing that his previous channel name would hold him back he eventually began uploading minecraft content on his main channel often with another youtuber at the time seananners he was one of the first youtubers to hop onto the minecraft trend it would really blow up in popularity with his early minecraft parodies of tyre cruises dynamite and usher's dj got us falling in love again by early 2011 he was already accumulating millions of monthly views and this would only increase into 2012 with the beginning of many of its other popular series such as the survival series and hunger games series by august 2013 he was able to accumulate upwards of 80 million views a month he will continue uploading more minecraft videos also hopping onto the popular trend of minigames which continue to push the channel growth alongside his mini game content he would also upload many more famous minecraft parodies and some originals some of which have over 100 million views by late 2014 his growth had slowed down considerably and this would continue into 2015 but he was still able to get consistent viewership as you can see here by the graph this decline would continue throughout 2016 and 2017 alongside minecraft decrease in popularity and then in 2018 he actually began to lose subscribers every month even though he was still able to achieve upwards of 10 million monthly views however his hard work and consistent uploading throughout minecraft's low points in popularity would pay off as he still had a strong community full of fans that he would interact with and he would strengthen his bond by setting up his own subreddit his loyal fan base stuck with him and by mid-2019 when minecraft's popularity rose once more he would gain almost 400 000 subscribers in a single month and his use would skyrocket up to 72 million from then on he has continued to grow monthly captain sparkle stuck it through and was rewarded at the end of it all to this day he still hasn't lost sight of what once made him so popular and continues to upload minecraft content because he enjoys doing it his recent videos still accumulate upwards of 100 000 views some of which get into the millions and his community still enjoys watching him frequently collaborate with the current generation of minecraft youtubers many of which he inspired the next youtuber on this list is stampy who began uploading on his original stampy lognose channel in 2006. but before we get into that consider subscribing we are so close to 100k no pressure though anyways while most of his older videos on that channel are now private his one million subscriber special gives us some short snippets of his earlier videos displaying that he uploaded a variety of content he would upload short animation videos skits and short films he would then study video production in college and university uploading many of his short films onto his channel inspired by other youtubers and let's players he began uploading call of duty gameplay and other console games he'll continue along these lines eventually becoming more established as a halo content creator but as he got towards the end of university he found himself with less free time and decided to stop uploading on the stampy long nose channel and making a second channel called stampylonghead to upload lower quality let's play videos which he could still find the time to make his earliest upload on the stampede longnose channel are of the game journey and he would upload a few other games into his friend started playing minecraft so he joined in and would make minecraft videos as well and it wasn't long until he was addicted this was the beginning of his success on the 10th of august 2012 he would upload his first minecraft video and slowly over time he began transitioning to more minecraft anyways with his newfound channel niche he began getting attention and by early 2013 he had begun accumulating hundreds of thousands of monthly views by mid-2013 his channel began skyrocketing and he began getting tens of thousands of subscribers each month with his videos getting millions of views this would continue into 2014 where in january he gained a whopping 450 000 subscribers in that month alone his growth would largely steady out through 2014 with his channel consistently getting around 180 to 200 million monthly channel views and his future was looking really bright if you look at his most viewed videos you can see that some of them have over 20 million views which is absolutely nuts however things wouldn't remain as steady while he would hit 5 billion subscribers in 2015 2015 also marked the year his channel would begin going downhill so what happened well his good friend and other youtuber who was a common feature in his videos elfalie got involved in some nasty allegations and drama which basically ruined his career knowing that he could no longer be associated with him elfa lee decided to stop collaborating with stampy in order to not tarnish his reputation and stampy would do a farewell episode farewelling elfali from stampy's lovely world series and while this was a hundred percent the right decision it still led to negative repercussions for his channel with a massive viewership decrease during 2016 his child continued to drop in popularity and alongside that he also lost a lot of motivation to play the game stating that he wasn't as interested in minecraft anymore and by the end of 2018 he was losing subscribers every month he stopped uploading as frequently and his growth stagnated the beginning of 2020 was roughly the same for him often averaging around 20 to 30 million monthly views which is very impressive but far less than the upwards of 200 million he was getting in 2013 and 2014. it's commonly believed that rather than minecraft's decrease in popularity hurting his channel it was his fans growing up and maturing that did while he kept making the same type of videos it just seemed that over time his audience grew up and lost interest however unlike many other youtubers stampy didn't care his views were decreasing as he still enjoyed making videos and staying true to that nature he kept persisting and recently began his lovely world series again so things may be on the rise once more popular mmos was a youtuber who grew to great popularity but unlike the other youtubers we talked about on this list he initially began his channel in 2012 to help promote his website at the time popularmmos.com originally he began by uploading runescape videos but at the time they didn't see that much success he eventually started doing more games as well as guides and one of the games he did as a guide was for minecraft seeing its success he began uploading minecraft more often and it wasn't long until the sole focus of his channel was minecraft his early survival let's play saw great popularity but he then decided to do other maps such as skyblock with his girlfriend which saw even greater success throughout 2012 his channel grew slowly but steadily but then in april of 2013 his channel started getting traffic and he went from about a hundred thousand monthly views to 23.5 million by the end of the year he would then begin uploading many more mod and map showcases which always did well and throughout 2014 his channel did not stop growing and he was frequently gaining over 200 000 subscribers a month his channel was doing really well and in 2015 he was still averaging over 250 million monthly views incredibly high for the time throughout this entire time period his girlfriend later to be wife was increasingly becoming associated with the channel to the point where she would be basically in every video the audience grew accustomed to her and enjoyed her being in the videos but more about that in just a second so throughout 2016 and 2017 popular mmo's channel was not hurt by minecraft's decreasing popularity he continued getting well over 200 million views a month even hitting 300 million multiple times this was very unusual as almost every other minecraft youtuber at the time suffered a significant blow to their monthly views and subs during this period continue to grow through minecraft's worst period popular mmos would maintain his 200 million monthly view count up until july of 2018. it was around this time that his channel began to dip in popularity by early 2019 his monthly channel views had halved due to less uploads he also announced he had broken up with his wife and his channel took a significant hit from that even though she continued to appear in videos now you think with minecraft's resurgence in popularity in 2019 that popular mmos would at least see a slight increase in viewership but no throughout 2019 news channel kept declining and by 2020 he was getting well under 100 million monthly views last month november of this year he only got 18 million monthly views which is still very high but nowhere near the consistent 200 million plus he was pulling alongside his child's decrease in popularity he stopped uploading as frequently and these days it rarely seemed uploaded more than five or six times a month substantially less than the daily uploads he used to do what's most interesting about his channel however is the fact that it was almost entirely separate from minecraft's popularity and his shadow was not tied to it at all he actually had some of his best months during 2016 and 2017 when minecraft was at an all-time low and he was unaffected by the game's resurgence the final youtuber on this list is one which is often forgotten sethbling one of the early minecraft geniuses creating his channel all the way back in 2006 he didn't start uploading until early 2011. his first videos would be showcasing technical builds with minecarts and rails and he seemed to have quite decent knowledge of the mechanics behind them especially for the time he would make a lot of minecart based technical videos and some would actually net him well over a million views as they were very unique and stood out looking at early graphs of his channel you can see that he began growing almost straight away after he began uploading and by the end of his first year on the platform he already had 40 000 subscribers which is insane for youtube at the time he would expand and start making contraptions which were more advanced such as his wave machine and two-player trading system both of which got millions of views he built himself quite the reputation with his wacky but unique builds and contraptions and through 2012 his growth would continue to increase with his channel accumulating millions of monthly views but then in 2013 his channel really kicked off and he started getting hundreds of thousands of subscribers every month and his growth would continue into 2014. he uploaded a really large variety of minecraft content it seemed that whatever he uploaded his viewers would watch but by 2015 his growth had started slowing down his monthly subscribers were dipping below the tens of thousands and his monthly views were dropping alongside that 2016 wasn't better as his views continued to plummet alongside minecraft's decrease in popularity in a few months during 2016 he was actually losing subscribers and things weren't looking too good so what happened well unlike many other youtubers i believe settling just lost motivation or interest in the game and stopped uploading minecrafters often for that same reason during 2016 it was rare to see him upload that much and when he did it was either other games or minecraft uhcs in 2017 it was much of the same except for the fact that he barely uploaded minecraft instead opting to upload a variety of mario and zelda games in 2018 he lost subscribers almost every month but upon his return to the game in 2019 a newfound interest in data packs his channel saw a massive spike in popularity gaining 50 000 plus subscribers and tens of millions of monthly views this newfound interest in the game was short-lived however as by late 2019 and early 2020 he had stopped uploading minecraft as often again and these days does many super mario speedruns and occasionally does some minecraft speedruns so it seems as if his channel never really died he proved in 2019 that when he began uploading minecraft again his channel could start growing so wasn't that viewers disliked his newer content but rather it seems that he lost interest in the game and wanted to do other things but anyways that about wraps it up for this video if i missed any other youtubers be sure to leave a comment and let me know and maybe i'll cover them in a third part be sure to subscribe and join the discord thank you all so much for watching
