What A Day At The World's Largest Truck Stop - Iowa 80 🚚

i'm ever case join me as i visit the world's largest truck stop here in iowa it may not just be the world's largest truck stop it's probably the coolest truck stop and of course i'll be up to my fun antics as well i don't know if they'll like this or not but i have closed off this section buckle up because this won't be like any other adventure hi there it's me again i am headed out to the world's largest truck stop and there's a lot more than just a typical truck stop so that is in iowa and i'm doing the drive there right now and i can give you a hint i'm still in wisconsin let's get back on the road and head out to iowa and the world's largest truck stop [Music] [Applause] so far you have not missed a darn thing as i've been doing the drive here in iowa after uh cutting through dubuque and uh taking this road that will take me to i-80 [Music] there's been absolutely nothing i-80 is the country's longest interstate taking you from coast to coast and we are right in the middle of it i guess it would make sense to have the world's largest truck stop on the nation's longest interstate i'm right off i-80 outside of davenport and this is a love's truck stop but it's not the world's largest truck stop that's still down the road let's keep going [Applause] a little further down the road here down i-80 at another truck stop still isn't the world's largest truck stop boy these truckers have a lot of choices off i-80 here in davenport let's keep it moving [Music] [Applause] [Music] well i've made it to the world's largest truck stop here in the middle of nowhere just outside of davenport iowa let's get this fun started at the world's largest truck stop and what makes this the world's largest truck stop let's go check this out [Applause] i wonder if this is the shuttle to get me into the main building [Music] [Applause] check out these gas prices here 19 cents a gallon hang on a second yeah fill it up all the way something i noticed here about the world's largest truck stop is they have 900 parking spots for these big rigs over here that is a lot of trucks and i'm coming down this aisle here right now kind of in the middle of it and this is just the first row there's actually some nice looking rigs here check out this one so in case you are curious 900 parking spots here at the world's largest truck stop which is called the iowa 80 by the way they've been here 58 years and they serve 5 000 customers every single day and for breakfast in case you're wondering over 19 million eggs have been served so far i guess truck drivers like their eggs i'd hate to be one of the truck drivers that comes here when it's sleeting or pouring outside and you get stuck at one of these end spots and then you have to do the walk into the building which believe it or not is a couple of blocks it looks like they have a general service center you could also get the uh the truck washed i write about this as well check this out a lot of truck drivers don't drive solo they bring their furry companion with them and it makes sense after a while the pooch probably starts to stink so while they've got showers here for the truck drivers the old canine can get a doggy bath at the same time you're getting all the bugs off the truck check this out something i just noticed about this sign here it's on a fire hydrant so as i am walking around the grounds here at the iowa truck stop one of the rigs i noticed is cfi and if you saw my live my very first live stream uh last friday you might recall me saying that one of the vloggers i follow is riding with dave dave and his girlfriend billy joe they are truck drivers and work for cfi and here's another angle of the iowa 80 the world's largest truck stop as they say as i drive around the uh premises here and this huge parking lot that fits 900 trucks i'm finding all kinds of different things and i did read this before i came here i will show it to you in a moment they've got a truck right here so when i walked in they told me that there's about 20 maybe 25 minutes left here at the truck museum before they closed for the day so we'll take a quick tour because i know you're dying has 44.5 horses [Music] you really don't see these flat nose trucks on the road anymore i believe it's a fuel efficiency thing and that's why what they call the conventionals the ones with the big hoods in front of them that's why you see a lot of those on the road now [Music] there used to be a show back in i think the 80s maybe late 70s and it was called bj and the bear some of you might remember that show and it was about a truck driver that had a little bear with him or maybe it was a monkey but then wouldn't it be bj and the monkey anyways bj had an animal with him and he's a truck driver and that's all i remember this reminds me of something you'd see back in the 20s and the mafia would be coming after you [Music] [Applause] [Music] this bad boy from 1955 has 255 horses and can do a top rated speed of 60 miles an hour mack has come a long way since then [Music] the year this truck is 1929 with a top speed of 15 to 20 miles an hour those go-karts i did in a previous video go as fast as this truck [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] my [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] i promise you cfi has nothing to do with my channel but i need to charge you guys for some advertising now [Music] [Music] over 100 trucks in this museum and it's absolutely free to walk through at the iowa 80 truck stop here just west of davenport iowa i know you want to see what's inside the world's largest truck stop let's go check it out [Music] so truck drivers that you use are cb radios they usually have a handle how about this guy goes by sasquash i feel like i just stepped into the world of mash one of the things that makes this place unique they've got a dentist and a barber we'll check it out soon this place is simply amazing so to the left here you've got like a little grocery store and in front of us is the food court and of course you've got the gift shop then there's a whole other wing yet this building seems to be broken up into three or four different sections from what i can tell and combined it is all over 100 000 square feet and when you factor in the size of the property here it's bigger than 57 football fields [Music] can you tell what these are they're uh fish slippers like flip-flops they're fish flops every trucker should have a pair i don't know if they'll like this or not but i have closed off this section i feel like with this whole clan over here i should be like those little stickers you put on the back of minivans you know where it's like the family and then the dog or the pet or something like that my new friends you could just put us on a sticker and put us on your big rig did you know that only 10 of truck drivers are females because she has nothing to say about that [Music] we found the giant convenience store [Music] it's like a a miniature grocery store here at the iowa 80 truck stop [Music] and if you're thirsty that's not a problem looks like the coolers go all the way to nebraska they don't discriminate here at the iowa 80 you get coke or pepsi unless you want rc that's a whole different story then [Music] it's not as tall as i thought he would be all right my truck driving audience really quick what kind of truck is this did you say kenworth no mac no peterbilt this sign actually reminds me that this place goes through 775 rolls of toilet paper every month that's what they say in driving terms that's 55 miles of toilet paper every single month that is a lot of flushing here at the i-80 and moving into the apparel department here at the i-80 around a big 100 000 square foot building has made me hungry let's go into their restaurant where they have served over three and a half million cups of coffee over the last 50 years [Music] do [Music] all right i've got my home-cooked meal here so i hit the buffet and i got spaghetti i've got a mess is what i've got going on here i've got a little roll the mashed potatoes and the gravy looks pretty good there's some corn in here um there's a little corn there's a mac and cheese and potato all in one right now as i showed you earlier they have a little food court here so you've got a lot of choices if you're coming here to eat and this is more of their family home style restaurant i would say that it's not homemade i had read somewhere that uh a lot of the food in here this restaurant is uh homemade but this is not homemade it sounds good though all right after that huge meal i'm going to need this truck to get around this place my tummy is full and there's a lot more to see here at the iowa 80 truck stop [Music] you have a quarter i can borrow mind i don't need a quarter look at that they have an actual truck in [Music] here that is one expensive prop [Music] yeah it's got a lot more gadgets and gauges in my f-150 i'm confused with the sign that says no parking seems like they're all parking back here it's amazing all the things that you can use or need for trucks oh i need these this truck is actually on a rotating floor it's like being at the auto show all they need is somebody to describe what they're looking at well hang on this truck was made from peterbilt it's yellow [Music] if you've never been on the inside of a truck and you wanted to see one here we go you can even have a big party in the sleeper back here got a nice closet for all your jeans i guess you could probably mount a little tv in here a little fridge down here i need to clean this fridge i'm still inside this truck which is still inside the iowa 80 truck stop i found the air horn switch for this thing i know you want me to you're gonna have to go to my website right now and uh contribute a lot of money on paypal and then i'll come back and do this [Music] they have everything you can think of that you would need for your rig here everything this is like the walt disney world for truck drivers check out these nice shiny chrome exhaust pipes what do you think they go for it would be nice to have a bed in the vehicle though especially if you owned a tesla it could drive itself while you sleep need a mud flap that's pretty neat they have their own embroidery shop here [Music] well you know i'm going upstairs to check this out this is pretty wild up here so at a truck stop there is a dentist office which is right over here they also have the barber and the chiropractor i wonder if you can get all the services done at once and being upstairs here we get a nice bird's eye view of the store oh i see a shoplifter over there that's the only thing of a shower i will show you if you want to see the shower with somebody in it you have to go to another channel for that i'm a family channel so when i walked in this was the area i walked into with the elevated truck here [Music] wow the iowa 80 truck stop the world's largest truck stop it was endless in there and all the trouble i could have continued to get in probably time for me to go it did seem fitting to me to bring my truck to come check out the world's largest truck stop and i really do own a truck and i will give you just a couple of seconds in this ginormous parking lot for you to figure out which truck is mine yeah yeah it's not the size of your truck that counts [Music] so i'm in a little town of iowa called walcott let's go check out the rest of this area and see what else i have other than the world's largest truck stop so this looks like the happening metropolis of walcott iowa where there's a dollar general and that's about it it was a lot of fun checking out the world's largest
