church i got married in this church had my children in the church of god for my wife in the church of god became a pastor in the church of god and i'm gonna make it to heaven in the church of god amen somebody amen praise god hallelujah as we prepare to give you the right hand of fellowship and welcome you into this family salvation through jesus christ made each one of you a member of his body now you stand before this congregation of believers indicating your desire to become a member of this local church we are ready to welcome you into this fellowship with all its benefits and its responsibilities as the shepherd of this block charged by god to faithfully amen responsible for you to offer the things that you need spiritually for growth i want you to pledge your love and your commitment to this body everyone do you publicly profess and confess your faith in jesus christ as savior and lord and desire to follow his example all your life i do praise god do you agree to be two services today you are going to preach about two of the churches in revelation for those who heard the service this morning or who was here we preached about the church in sardis but now we are going to talk about the church in philadelphia hallelujah be to god shout hallelujah because in revelation 3 verse 17 the lord jesus said he who has the key of david he who opens and no one shots he who shots and no one opens he said to the church of philadelphia i know your works see i have set before you an open door and no man can shut it somebody shot open door for you have a little strength you have a little strength but you have kept my word you have not denied my name he says in verse 9 indeed i will make those of the synagogue of satan who say they are jews and are not but lie the lord says indeed i will make them come and worship before your feet to know that i loved you somebody worshiped god for the things that god is going to bring down to your feet somebody shout hallelujah shout hallelujah the lord says i just speak to my people today you speak to them about obstacles versus opportunities ask your neighbor neighbor do you see an obstacle or do you see an opportunity because whenever there is an obstacle there is always a hidden opportunity inside of it whenever you see a problem there is always a blessing that's hidden somewhere there somebody shout a shout of hallelujah now jesus as he spoke to the churches you see these seven churches they were real churches the church in sardis was real the church in ephesus was leave the church in tigeria was real there were real churches and so the church in philadelphia it was a real church jesus said i am standing among the lampstands i'm standing among the seven churches and hear me everybody he has a message for the church in philadelphia isn't it strange that the church here bring my greater glory is in philadelphia god has a message for us today he has a message for the church in philadelphia hear what he says he says i open a door and no man can shoot it somebody shout hallelujah he says i know your work somebody saw it hallelujah come on somebody he says i know you have a little strength but you have kept my word and you have not denied my name if you believe it's how to shout a praise come on everybody musicians everybody give god a praise right there sad opportunities the way that the lord jesus begun this lecture you said pastor this letter was penned by john it was not penned by john the lord himself jesus christ he is the one who spoke into the spirit of john he said see that's how he begun this letter he said see i want you to look like you have never looked before he said see i have sold you now an open door he said see i want you to see in the spirit that there is an open door you say where is that open door lord the open door is not behind you we are not looking back we cannot go back into 2020 we cannot go back into 2019 we cannot go back into 2017 those days are gone they are over they will never return you say pastor but they were good days i don't matter how good they are the lord said i'm sitting before you right now i'm putting before you an open door but can you see it open door speaks of opportunities somebody shot opportunities we are not waiting on a door to be open you are not waiting on a door to be open the door is already open are you seeing the open door the door is open but it takes vision to see the open door the bible says without vision the people will perish he's gonna take vision to see the open door many of us we do not know our history so whenever we see an obstacle we think it is over can i remind you about the history of the church of god this church that you're a part of it did not begin here it did not begin here the church that we are a part of the church of god it did not begin in the caribbean the church of god did not begin in england can i tell you where the church of god began it began in cleveland tennessee in 1886 that's when the church of god began it means the church of god is not a caribbean thing the church of god is not just some movement that started in somebody's home i started in somebody's back room the church of god began in 1886 somebody shouted so to praise in 1886 there were eight members somebody sold hallelujah amen in 1886 there were eight members there was a baptist preacher by the name of rg sperling are you with me somebody he was a baptist preacher i know there are many of you caught against baptists but the church of god began with the baptist preacher that baptist preacher in 1886 he was tired of the lukewarmness he was tired of the coldness he wanted something more come on somebody somebody shout hallelujah for two years they would read the scripture for two years they would pray for two years they saw the face of the almighty god because they wanted a greater revival come on grimmer avenue do you see obstacles or do you see opportunities shy hallelujah there was a holy dissatisfaction can i tell you the problem with us we have become too satisfied satisfied with the lukewarmness satisfied with the deadness satisfying not seeing miracles not seeing signs again can i tell you we are a pentecostal movement we are real fire fire fire fire fire movement pentecostal movement that's how the church of god began [Music] do you have a thirst for revival do you see obstacles or opportunities somebody showed hallelujah during the same time that god was raising up arcgis perlin in tennessee god was also raising up f.w.f bryant in north carolina who was a baptist deacons deacons must have the holy ghost on fire i'm gonna do something in this house if you want to serve in this house then you got to seek for the baptism of the holy ghost come on somebody there must be great anointing [Music] come on there must be a thrash for the holy ghost and fire the smoke of god must come down inside [Music] in north carolina wf bryant baptist deacon come on somebody you started to pray and then the holy ghost power came down over 100 persons were baptized with the holy ghost on fire reverend brittany they were speaking in tongues we don't like speaking in tongues anymore you speak in tongues now when some people get upset come on somebody it's not every time you speak in tongues there's gonna be an interpretation come on somebody let's not quiet this thing down we have a pentecostal movement people are coming to church who need deliverance so yes sires they joined together there was an outpouring of the holy ghost because they saw opportunities instead of obstacles somebody worshiped god by the time the church began the church was called holiness church because the church is all about holiness the church was called christian union come on somebody showed hallelujah but when the fire came some persons didn't like the fire that was in the house they didn't like to see the divine healing that's taken place can i tell you why some people complain when others start to worship because they do not want to see the power of the almighty god manifest in the presence of god's people you see when the power came revelation came shut hallelujah they started to stone the church people they flocked them why they were speaking in tongues come on philadelphia they started to stone them christians were short they were there through the christians who are a part of the church of god but that did not stop the church of god because the church of god is alive and well today the church of god it has over 7 million members in over 185 countries the church of god is the largest pentecostal denomination in the world because they did not see obstacles they saw opportunities shias lift up your hand and so the church cannot be stopped the church cannot be stopped you are a part of the church your body is a temple of the living god we are the part of the church [Music] cannot be stopped the salmon called the vision he said the church triumphant is alive and well so let the church be the church let the people rejoice oh we have settled the question we have made jesus our choice let the anthems ring out songs of victory well for the church triumphant the church is alive and well all this ship has been through some battles before storms and tempest and rocks on the shore the hall may be battered gone inside is safe dawn inside is safe lift up your room and sit down inside it's safe it will carry its cargo to its porch in the sky the church is not perfect but can i tell you the holy ghost is the one who runs the church and the church will carry its cargo command somebody to its porch in the sky come on shout hallelujah hell cannot stop the church saying about so let the church be the church and let the people rejoice somebody rejoice right now break forth in rejoicing shall yes lift your hand and say i'm alive say i'm alive the church is alive we see opportunities we see opportunities we see opportunities not obstacles god says i've set before you an open door can you see it in your spirit it's an open door somebody showed hallelujah look at your neighbor even if you don't speak loudly but remind your neighbor that there is a promise that's inside of the problem do you have a problem today there is a promise philadelphia greater glory spiritual warriors musicians of praise team members there is a promise that's inside of the problem you say pastor what are you talking about can i tell you what this looks like in matthew 4 verse 19 jesus went down to the sea of galilee he saw a group of aggressive rugged fishermen they look like they were nothing they looked like they were just some fishermen who would curse who would swear come on somebody but jesus took one looked at those rugged fishermen he saw the promise inside of them hear what jesus said he said come and follow me and i will make you fishers of men i never fret about the church i pray for the church i will never worry about the foundation of the church the church is foundation he's built upon a solid rocker somebody saw it hallelujah and the gates of hell will never prevail against it i don't worry
