[Music] [Music] hey everybody i'm tom vassell welcome to week in review this is a video where the diced our staff tells you about the videos we put out over the past week we then tell you what we think of those videos no one out of the videos we tell you what we think of the games and then if you want to see the whole review hey there's a link to each one in the description below let's get ready to rumble i mean let's start hey everybody z garcia here so last week i did unsung gems xyz i combined those three letters and i did one video talking about those check that out and then i reviewed a couple of games so i reviewed vivid memories which i rated a four out of ten i think it's got a a clever they attempted to come up with a clever interesting theme this idea of nostalgia and creating connections in the mind and the cover certainly promises a very gorgeous warm welcoming nostalgic game the gameplay itself is very abstract it's about creating literal connections in your brain with these fragments there's a lot of terminology it is kind of clunky it is visually sort of unclear and somewhat unappealing i really didn't enjoy my experience with it played it a decent amount don't really want to play it again and then i reviewed ascension the 10th annivers 10th anniversary edition of that and i rated that an 8 out of 10. i like ascension i've liked ascension from the beginning but i think this edition is a really rock solid production and edition of the original game it improves the artwork throughout i think the artwork is now really good it's a it's got some rebalancing that was done to some of the cars some of the cars that were considered too weak have been brought up to up to snuff and the whole thing is you know keeps that simplicity of the original one the pace the quickness of the game and if you are looking for a a sort of core deck building experience ascension 10th anniversary edition here is a good one to jump into or if you've never played ascension before another good one to jump into with this one and that's it for me i will see you on the next one hey everyone i'm liz boccellini this week i reviewed chai which is a game where you and your opponents all own your own tea shop or tea house and you are trying to fulfill customer orders with different tea leaves and ingredients and you're trying to get the most victory points at the end of the game and i gave this one a 7.5 out of 10. hey chris here this week i took a look at three games the first one was full throttle this is a freedom and freeze racing betting game i gave it a five there is not terribly much game in it it is really suitable for kids to play with but i think that you could still do something better with what was in there uh kind of cute c but it's not great next up was a game called rosetta the lost language i gave this game a six it's a cooperative clue based clue giving game one person is the author of this kind of hieroglyph and they assign a specific meaning to it and the other players have to guess the meaning of it round after round trying to hone in on it it's really neat i think that a lot of people could like this one if you like games that require you to be very performative and create things as the person who assigns the meaning you have to draw new hieroglyphs as players guess words you get to draw hieroglyphs to try to clue them into what yours means it's a weird concept but it works but it's very challenging and for that reason it's a six it's fun but also it's it's kind of tiring and then lastly we took a look at rescuing robin hood in the foursquare review i gave this game an 8.5 i like this game a lot it is really clever has multiple forms of push your luck all kind of squished together in a little game and i found that to be interesting there's some resources you can share amongst the players very cooperative very mathy puzzly but in a cool unique way and in a way that's i found to be really fun so that's what i looked at this week all right everybody roy canaday here and this week i took a look at the investigator pack for dunwich horror legacy for the arkham horror the card game this is basically a pack of investigator cards like cards with new investigators new cards that you can add into your decks and things like that so if you're brand new to arkham hara and you haven't got the dunwich legacy cycle which was actually the first mytho cycle or whatever for the game i might give this a seven um basically if you're new to the game and are into it check that out so if you want to see what some of the cards look like or my thoughts on that go check out that video also i took a look at rescuing robin hood this is a cooperative game with lots of cooperation as you have these guards that you're trying to fight through to rescue different heroes and eventually rescue robin hood and maybe even take out the sheriff of nottingham we did a four squares review of this this is an eight for me definitely really enjoy this game um and then also like always i did favorite game friday i think this week we're talking about deck building games so we talked about deck building games so you can check out everybody's opinions on deck boating games and maybe leave in the comments your favorite deck budding game that would be awesome on that video and this is roy and that's what i've been doing this week hi everyone this week i reviewed two games i reviewed full throttle and rescuing robin hood let's talk about full throttle i gave this one a five it feels like a kids game with very few choices that matter but it was marketed for adults how could that happen i don't know freedom freeze sadly i gave this one a five as for rescuing robin hood interesting co-op game i give this one a seven and a half um i give it that because though the game doesn't speak to me very much personally i do think it is a very unique approach to a co-op game i especially love the the passing down the punches that go on with it and um just kind of the general flow of the game so good stuff there seven and a half it is approved hey there everybody it's mike delecio and this week i was a part of a number of reviews first i did a rapid-fire round-up where i talked about 10 games in just under 20 minutes and so if you are interested in knowing my thoughts about games that other people have reviewed in full fashion but just want to get some kind of bite-sized thoughts on it you can check that out and then i did two full reviews the first thing i did was a review of the collector's edition of petra core i rated this an 8.5 an outstanding product i feel like this is a game that i already liked quite a bit petrichor's in my top 100 games it's in the high end of my top 100 games and this new product is an all-in-one storage solution it has all of the expansion materials in there it's got some promo tile a lot of promo towels in there and a really really wonderful consolidated rule book that i spent a fair amount of time talking about so check that out if you're interested i also did a review for the isle of cats big box storage solution again and the new expansion materials the kittens and beasts and the boat pack and so i really talked about this more as a total product and gave my thoughts on it i gave it a nine out of ten really really excellent uh just about everything that i would be looking for in a product like this was hit the quality of the components is fantastic this has a wooden insert that makes for the setup and tear down to be a real breeze and it that's the biggest selling point of this to me is that now this game that i already liked now i can get it on the table get playing it very quickly get it put away very quickly as well a really really good product all right well that's it for me this week let's keep it moving okay so for me first of all i uh got my kids all wilds uno hoping to break them of their uno addiction and uh one of them didn't like it the other thought it was okay and i hated it i gave it a one it should be burned uh then endogenesis so endogenous i i really wanted to like this game i think more than than i than it it turned out to be it's an interesting card game where you're using cards to fight enemies and each other but at best it's a six out of ten i can't really give it a higher score than that it felt a little too fiddly i think at the end of the day tranquility seven out of ten but this game is not for everybody it's a cooperative game with very little communication putting a bunch of cards in order it's interesting i liked it but buyer beware airland air land and sea spies lies and supplies this is a standalone expansion in airline and see it's pretty much the same game with different powers or the way the cards work is different 18 cards but it can be combined with the original game these small games from arcane wonders are really fast really fun to play with two players and this one actually you could play with four but still best with two eight out of ten rescuing robin hood we did a foursquare review on this cooperative game that feels different it has an unusual feel to it as you are rescuing um different villagers and then eventually robin hood himself i like it has a strong cooperative feel 8.5 and viral the hive this little tiny expansion for viral adds player powers that's all i need to say it's an 8.5 almost out of the box there very small easy to put in the game four games to skip i did a review of four different games from bad to worse i took a look at my top 10 arc nova cards since i like that game so much i did a couple more shelf reviews i talked about the top 10 games that were played at the dice tower west convention just going through the ones that were checked out the most and i continued my publisher uh series with a top 10 red raven games and we did all our live stuff crowd surfing um i did my q a board game breakfasts and our big top 10 of the list was our top 10 anticipated games of 2022. yes i know it's march but most games still haven't come out yet so what are they go check it out thanks so much for watching folks until next time i'm tom vassell this has been week in review on the dice tower [Music] [Music] do [Music] [Applause] [Music] you
