well welcome to this uh pro presenter live stream i'm super excited to be with you and i have cody with me cody how's it going buddy how are you brad you know i am doing pretty good except you know much like a lot of people who are watching you run into technical issues all the time and i have a camera that doesn't have a friendly hdmi port on it anymore and so i just lost video right before starting which is super fun but we got it solved we are back so it's good to be with you cody you're uh hanging out in austin texas correct yep that's where i live um i'm moving from here from ohio about six months ago okay nine months ago awesome so you're out there and i am uh in michigan so uh welcome from the cold snowy uh tundra of michigan all the way to texas for wherever you guys are watching so glad that you guys could be here uh with us uh we're gonna be covering a bunch of stuff today and particularly we're gonna be talking about a stage display stage screens producer views how to have a better view of what's going on inside of propresenter so that you can confidently know where you're sending content what it looks like on all of these different connected screens that you might have inside the program plus we've got something super exciting in a little while we're going to be doing some trivia cody tell them about that so the trivia game is really cool if any of you ever played kahoot it's similar to that but what's going to happen is we're actually going to play on each of our individual devices whether it's your phone or your computer there's a link in the video here that you can follow to get to that what you want to do is you want to be in the game while we're doing it otherwise you can't win so make sure you're joining through that link you're playing the game you're signed up and you're ready to go once we say hey we're playing okay but it'll be really fun we've got some some technology-based questions we have some questions based on pro presenter renewed vision uh even questions based on me and brad so i think you guys will enjoy it and it'll be a fun fun time for all of us that is awesome that's awesome so uh yeah so that's exciting that is coming up here in a little bit and what's that link again that they can go to i'm pulling up something on my machine so if you can share that that'd be awesome so if they don't okay if they don't see it in the comments it's renewed vision dot com slash join trivia or nudevision.com that's drawing trivia so if you don't see it in the comment you can enter that in you can go ahead and put your information uh in the website so that way you're ready to go um we're gonna we're not gonna do it right now we're gonna do it in a few minutes probably a little bit more towards the middle of what we're doing today um but today we're going to talk um at first a little bit about what purpose 7.4 was about some of the features in that um how you can use those we're going to do our trivia game and we're also going to cover stage displays and editing with the new linked text and objects so that's awesome yeah no you're good man um well how about before we get started into all of this how about we check out what all of those new features are in propresenter 7. so check this out [Applause] [Music] [Music] well that is awesome there's so much amazing new stuff in there and i mean there's a bunch of little things that are super exciting and then there's some really big things like we can use it on newer versions of the os that it's built for uh upcoming operating systems and computer hardware and stuff like that so all of that is super exciting cody what's one of your favorite new new features here in 7.4 i think my favorite feature is the new line fills being able to have it be fit to width instead of all the way out at the edge of whatever your object is being able to do fit to width of the actual line and then fit to width of your whole text box is cool too yeah yeah it's very very nice you're no longer you can still have your text inside a box but no longer does it have to be this full full deal so you can it's actually kind of cool when you're doing like left or right justified text because then you get these like lines that stick out towards the end it looks really really nice uh and and really cool that way so um well let's jump in and one thing i want to say before we jump in is i believe cody is and i'm trying to as well watch the chat on facebook so if you're on facebook and you have questions or something pops up along the way we do want to know about it we do want to be able to be super helpful today and so we're going to get started talking about stage screens and why stage screens and what they're used for just in a general sense and and where to get started with them and then we're going to look a little bit more in depth at producer views and and how to take that kind of to the next level so cody um in for you when you think of stage screens what do you first think of and and how do you see those being used for most churches when i first think of a stage strain i think of a confidence monitor lots of musicians on stage will rely on a confidence monitor in the back of the room that they can look to see what the lyrics are to see what time it is maybe and so that's helpful for that but there's so much more potential for it and that's what i think we're going to get into a little bit more of later um but for a lot of churches a lot of organizations um maybe you didn't understand what a stage screen or confidence monitor is and so we wanted to talk a little bit about that um we we call confidence monitors stage screens from a perspective perspective so think of them as the same thing regardless of which word or which term we end up using but a stage strain is the ability for anyone who's a talent on stage to see a screen that shows stuff just for them so you may have content you want to show on your your auditorium screens but you want to show a clock and you want to have a countdown timer and you want to have a note well you can put it on the stage screen just so the people on stage see it and the people who are in the audience don't see it so that's kind of what the purpose of a stage screen is uh that's awesome so let's look at how to set those up so i'm going to jump onto my computer here and let's take a look at how we're going to do this so inside pro presenter the first thing that we need to do is we need to set up that screen so we're going to go to screens and we're going to go to configure screen so screen's in the top menu here and then we're going to go to configure screens and then you'll see we have two different types of screens we have audience screens which are meant for people who are viewing the content in the end so you can think of this as you know maybe your live stream as an audience screen your main projector or tvs or a video wall those are all audience screens stage screens are meant for people who are either on stage or behind the scenes so in here you'll see i have a stage area and you'll see my first one just called stage display now it used to be connected to a different monitor but we can easily connect this up to maybe different hardware that's hooked up to the computer or we could set up a placeholder or we could send it over ndi where you can send video across the network to different devices so those are some different ways that you can set up that screen but once you have that screen set up you have to decide what content you want to send to that screen and the way that we do this is by going to our stage editor and setting up some stage layouts so we're going to go to more into stage editor so this is our main area to find all of our extra editors so in the main toolbar here show is where we you know control the main show but then we have a bunch of different editors here we have a regular editor we have a reflow editor we got a bible interface and then we have all of our other editors and so we're just going to go to our stage editor and in our stage editor on the left normally you would see all of your slides inside of a document but in our stage editor we're seeing all of our different layouts for our stage screen so i have a bunch of different layouts in here that i've created in the past and you can easily add new layouts by just clicking this add icon right here so we can either add a blank layout but one of the easiest things to do is to add a pre-filled layout so we can go and add one of these pre-built layouts like current next slide stacked text that's meant for music or we could bring in maybe a current slide preview with a bunch of different timers so that we can see all the different timers and maybe this is a really good one for teachers who might be on stage or a current slide with large notes so if you have a teacher or a presenter who's on stage and they want to have some of those notes in there they can do that that way so you can easily add one of these so let's add in this current slide with large notes and when i add it it's just going to add a new layout here and we can see all of the objects that are in that stage layout so here you can see we have a system clock so this text box has this little link icon and what it's saying is it's pulling this text from somewhere in the program and it's pulling this text from the system clock so what does your what's the time on your computer but then we have another link text object that would be our segment clock so how long has the segment been running and this is pulling the text from this timer here so we have different timers and we have segment clocks that we can run as part of one of those timers and it will pull that information in there and then here we have a an object that's filled with a current slide image so it's a static image of whatever is currently on your screen but if we wanted to change that from a static image we could go over here to our fill and we could change this from current slide image to screen preview and we could set this to be a screen preview of our main output so i could just set this to main output and now this will be a preview of our main output then we have another text box here and this text is pulling in the text from our current slide notes so in here you can see all of uh any notes that would be on any given slide and then at the bottom we have a area for our stage message so if somebody wanted to send a message through to the stage through this stage button in our top menu here so if i click the stage button you can put a message in and send that to the stage screen so this whatever you type in this message area it would show up in this text box down here so you can create multiple layouts and then we can set those layouts to show on our stage screen so all we have to do is go back to our screens menu and under the stage section you can see we have our stage display and then i can choose a layout here so i could choose a layout and i could choose that current slide and large notes layout now if i go to my preview area here on the left or on the right this is where it previews all of our different all of our different screens i can preview my stage display screen and so you can see this is a preview of what's happening so this is my full screen preview and if i had any notes for the slides they would show up over here and if i go to my messages and i would or sorry not my messages if i go to stage and i send through this test info you'll see it shows there at the bottom to send a message through to our stage screen so that's kind of the basics of how you would go through and set up a stage layout and how you would set it to show on those screens now you can actually toggle between these different stage layouts throughout a presentation so we could toggle through and during music show one stage layout and during the teaching we could show a totally different stage layout and the way that we go about that is by utilizing the action palette and the action palette is a really powerful tool that allows us to trigger multiple actions to happen with one single slide click so i'll just show you quickly kind of how we would do that so let's say we're on the song and we wanted to trigger a stage layout that's meant for music so um on the song waymaker we want to click on this slide and have it trigger a layout that's meant for music so what i'm going to do is i'm actually going to just right click on the slide and whoops i'm using a track pad here and it's not being nice to my frozen fingers and cody you're making a lot of noise on your end i'm not sure what's going on over there thanks buddy uh there we go and uh so if we go to uh edit actions actually i'll just remove this action of stage real quick so we'll right click again we're going to add an action and we're going to add a stage action so we'll click on stage and when we do that it pulls up this stage layouts drop down where we can choose a layout for our stage display so in here we can go through and let's say we want to do current slide we want to do current slide next slide text for our music so we could just do that and this one has a chord chart with it and we can hit done and now when i click on this slide it's going to change our stage layout and then we'll see all of this now if we had a chord chart in here it would show on that side we could just easily edit this action so i'll right click again and hit stage and we could change this and maybe say band i think this is like a normal one so there we go we have our current slide next slide text and then some clocks at the bottom of kind of what's going on and what's showing uh throughout the program and then let's say we go into another element so i'm going to go to this these teaching notes here and i'm going to add a stage layout to these teaching notes so i'll right click on this slide for teaching notes and i'll say add action and stage and here i'm going to change the stage display and i'm going to change this to be that current slide and large notes that we were looking at earlier or we could set it to this pastor one that i created previously because you can name these whatever you want but i'll just do this one that we looked at earlier so now when i click on this slide it's going to change my stage layout and we're going to get that full screen preview and so when i go and you know like throw this text on there we'll get that and if we had any notes again it would be showing right there on the side so those are a few of the basic ways that we would go about creating stage layouts really quickly because you can just use those pre-filled layouts and if you wanted to maybe delete an element or move an element around you can easily do that inside the stage editor and then we can use the action palette to trigger those throughout a presentation now i think one of the best practices of triggering these different things is trigger it by element so the first slide of a song you could trigger a stage layout that says be set up for what the band needs so current slide next slide text is pretty normal for what musicians on stage want and then when we get so every single song that first slide it's always saying make sure you're on that music layout and then when we get to maybe a host or somebody an announcement person who's on stage any sort of personality who's on stage then you could switch that layout to give maybe a full screen preview of what's on the screen that's behind them so they don't have to turn around so you can easily switch that and again you could put that right on that first slide you know maybe it's a welcome slide and you could just add that stage layout on there so when your operator clicks on welcome it automatically changes that over for you and then you get to the teaching notes for maybe a speaker on stage or a pastor and you can again change out that layout so that that is uh meant for that person on stage so again we're just going to trigger these like one time as a new element starts throughout a a service or an event so that it's set up for the right things along the way i think that's a good best practice that you can get in the rhythm of setting up and then when you're re-utilizing songs or re-utilizing elements it's always on that first slide it's always easy it's always gonna click and change that layout to what you want to see cody do you have anything yeah go ahead um so i was going to say if if you were to create a stage layout and you wanted to put a note on there that's going to show from a slide so a slide is linked to it in a note with a note is when a slide is clicked a note goes from there to the stage screen how would you go about doing that like where do how would you go about adding that and then where in the slide do you actually go to edit the note yeah so let's first look at how to edit the note so i'm going to go back on my computer here and we're going to go to our main editor here so i'm just going to click edit and that will bring us into our editor and let's say we had some notes for this slide the place we would add that is down here at the bottom it says slide notes so whatever slide we're on we can click on slide notes and we could just type in here hello and now we have that slide note that is added in there so if we go back to show and i click on the slide again you'll see that hello shows up in that slide note area that we have set up in our stage layout now again let's go to our stage layout so i'm going to go to my more button and click on stage editor and in here we'll go to that current slide large notes area and you'll see that we have a text box that is set to be current slide notes now if we wanted to recreate that i'm just going to delete that text box and let's add a new element now there's a few different ways we can do this but the easiest way to do it is to hit the add object icon here and we can go down and we can add some different things so we can either add current slide text preview image or notes so that's kind of what we're looking for is our current slide notes and when we click that it's going to automatically create a text box that's linked perfectly to what we're looking for so then i can just resize this text box and put it over here i could change the formatting of it so i'm going to just kind of get it all lined up and maybe we want to change the scaling so it's like really obvious that there's a note on it so we'll say scale text up to fit container so it's going to make it really large and so now you can see my hello is really really big um when we click on a slide that has it but if i go to another slide and we click on that one there's no note in that slide and so it doesn't show anything but if i go back to this one it has that note and so it shows it there um are we getting any other questions from the chat cody that we can answer all right we've got it we've got a few a few good ones in here great um so someone asked is the screen preview the same as live slide in pro 6 and as in will it play a video or animation as opposed to just a static image and so yeah the answer would be yes your screen preview is pulling from a screen so i know that some of the terms changed from pro presenter 6 to project 7 but there's a reason for it and i'll explain a little bit of that reason um when we had purpose under 6 we only had one audience output you couldn't have more than one screen coming from your computer so you only ever were viewing one live slide because you only have ever had one live slot at a time but now with pro presenter seven you can have multiple outputs and so the point is instead of saying you're just previewing the live slide which could be any of those outputs you're previewing one of those specific outputs so you're choosing which one you want to preview so if you do only have one let's say you have one projector in your room and that's all you want to preview you're just going to select that as the the piece that you're previewing you don't actually have to say a live slide because that is your live slide because you only have that one but if you have more than one screen you can choose which one you want to preview there yeah and that's how you can get into interesting things that we'll cover in a little while of how you can create a multi-view that's showing you a live preview of all of the different outputs from your computer so you're seeing a live preview of not only your projector you're seeing a live preview of what's on your stage screen in a live preview of what's being sent to your video switcher or your live stream or a lobby screen so you can see all the different content and know when you're clicking through that what's being shown on all those different screens is exactly what you want shown on all those different screens one thing i'm going to throw out real quick before we get to the next question is just a reminder that we're going to be doing some trivia with a pro presenter plus giveaway in just a few minutes and so you can head over to crowd.live on enter the code renewed vision or you can click on the link that you'll find in the comments so either go to crowd.live and enter renewed vision or click on the link that you'll find in the comments to get registered and ready for that trivia game coming up here in a few minutes yes get ready okay so cody next question um so do the stage displays move with the show if it is run on another computer um so there's a few different things to this question if you just export a document or if you export a playlist it's not going to bring over any stage looks that are linked inside of your library the actual layouts are part of your library yeah the layouts themselves themselves yes uh action would be there but the layout wouldn't so you still want the layout to come too so the way to do that is you would have to sync your library and you can do that within the preferences of pro presenter so you can sync your library to a flash drive or google drive and then when you're at the other when you're at your other computer you can sync back to pro presenter from that library and it'll pull in your stage screens yep yeah and i believe it's going to try to look for similar named layouts or similar order of layouts and so as long as that's the same on the two computers it should come through if not it's a really quick and easy thing of right clicking and just saying edit layout and making sure you're choosing the right one there but it will not like you said it's not going to actually bring the layout of all the different pieces adjusted in the right places that you want it's just the action on those slides is just triggering that layout as it exists in your computer in that stage layout area so that's a great question uh do we have any more yeah let's let's go over one more before we do trivia because trivia is the fun part of this so yes it is i'm excited it's gonna be so fun um someone said what if the band jumps to the third slide so they were saying like what if uh what if you um you were you were assigning your stage screen to a slide but they just jumped to the third one to start or something yeah one one good practice that i mean you could speak to this too but one good practice that i tend to use is i will set up a blank slide at the beginning of my song that'll be if i have a motion graphic i'll put it there and any actions that i want to use i'll put on that slide that way i just i click that every time i'm going to start start a new song even a new document if you're going to go into a message or something else a video it can be a good resource there just to put a blank slide in there put your actions on that and then just click that the first time once you click that then it changes your layout it changes your actions it changes your stage layout changes all that for you and then you can jump to the third slide so it's pretty easy because if you click that blank slide it's not going to put words for you it's not like you have to click the first verse you know you just click that first one it's blank it's not going to do anything right yeah so this is a this is more of a training piece in a way that pro presenter how you set up propresenter to work for your context so again i agree with cody that i would encourage you and and encourage you to train your volunteers to say always click on the first slide of every document because there's some important things on there and you can point out and say you know when you click on there you'll see so if we go back here you'll see like a little guy standing at a podium and that's a really important thing that's happening if you're using like audience looks to do things for live streams you can say you got a little mr mustache there he's a really important thing that we need to make sure to select or else things aren't going to look right so just be in a really a habit of always clicking on that first slide so again if we go over to one of these songs here oh that's these are old this is not a great uh here we go waymaker so that was the one we were working on earlier so again we we have our motion background on here and we have our little guy standing at a podium and so you can uh you know when they click on that it's doing a lot of that work the other thing is you're like well no it's a super spontaneous moment and they're just jumping into the middle of the song and i'm trying to get there as fast as i can the one thing that you have to remember is that if you're going from one song to another song you might be okay to actually skip it because when you're triggering a stage layout you're triggering a change in a stage layout and so if your stage layout is already set up for music if you skip into the middle of another document and that other document is another song you'll be fine it's the exact same layout it will stay the same but if you go from pastor on stage or teacher or something like that to the middle of a song and you don't trigger that layout change now the band on stage might be seeing that full screen preview with some clocks instead of current and next slide and so in that scenario it's going to be wiser for you to say let's just be late on that first slide let's get things set right and not try to rush things too fast and then go catch up with them on the second slide or the third slide it's okay sometimes to miss something so that you set yourself up for success instead of like frantically clicking on something and then you end up uh you know showing the wrong thing to the wrong people and it's actually more harmful to them because you didn't realize what was going on so that that would at least be my suggestion i don't know cody if you are in agreement with any of that or not but that's that's what i've noticed from years of training volunteers and working in my local church absolutely good explanation yes i love this person's comment here who who else was today years old when they learned that the icon was a person standing at a podium so i i really like that that's really good way to go so uh other questions cody before we jump into trivia yeah uh let's let's make sure people are getting on trivia yes they're ready to go links in the comments again join the trivia it'll tell you once you're in there it'll say this game will begin shortly this trivia game has not started once activated this area will allow you to play so once you see that you're good to go yeah and one thing that i want to point out so i actually use this with my church and again you can find that link in the comments or go to crowd.live and type in renewed vision we actually did this trivia with our church for like a little pre-show on christmas eve it was super fun we were all online for christmas eve this year and so we did this we wanted to make it as fun as possible so we did a trivia event just like this and uh one thing that you need to know is that what you're seeing on your device is real time so it's in time with me here in my facility and and in austin texas but it probably won't be real time with the video you're watching on facebook so we're gonna read the questions and say who's in the lead and all of that stuff but we're probably actually going to be a little behind what you're seeing on your device so make sure you stay tuned to what's on your device and you know you can tune us out but if you're not going to play and you just want to watch you can have fun watching the video but i want to encourage everybody to head over again sign up for trivia make sure you get logged in it's your chance to win an entire year or an extension of what you already have for propresenter plus so you get all of the latest features and updates and all of the good stuff that's coming to pro presenter here in the future so make sure you do that and i'm going to look at some questions here while we're waiting to get that started but we have a bunch of people logging in that i see and we'll get here started here in just a second just looking through those comments a lot of good stuff in here yeah and i love seeing people helping each other out in the comments so um yeah so this is great uh okay so let's uh get started with our game here in just a second so i'm gonna start our countdown timer and uh we will get rolling here so we can skip that and we're gonna just jump in cody does that sound good can we just jump on into this thing okay so we're gonna skip the countdown we're gonna jump in and uh we have our first question here why was propresenter uh created in 2000 for passion one day for northpoint community church to be the best lighting software or to be the best lyric software so which one of those was it for passion one day for north point community church and uh you have 15 seconds oh it looks like i should have checked this a second here looks like we are not automatically going through here let me see this a second uh does the host will activate the question there we go there we go we also gave the first answer away because it was showing your screen oh i'm so sorry well we're gonna try that again so stop finish everyone gets a free free one there yes uh i earned zero i earned zero points though that's not cool okay we're restarting this real quick here i'm sorry i was showing my screen there uh a couple too many things to control okay start countdown here we go and we're playing the game okay so was it for passion north point best lighting software or best lyric software which speaking of lighting software i've been using pro presenter to control my lighting and it's pretty cool so i love it yeah and the answer is 62 said that it was for a passion and you were correct you were correct okay in first place is cd he's bringing back the old school medium of uh i don't even remember what that stand compact disc there you go which was the first feature in pro presenter oh which came first live streaming all caps video inputs or line fills what uh which came first as a feature live streaming all caps video input or live fills most people said all caps and video input and video input was correct so that was our stephen p is now up in first place followed by jen in russell cd is down in fourth do we recommend mac or pc more in 2021 mac or pc which one do we recommend more in 2021 what do you guys think this will be an interesting one the answer most people say a mac and the other said pc and the answer is both of them both of them are recommended here in 2021 steven p is still in first place uh yeah they are both recommended so uh they work great hdmi should be run up to distances of what 100 feet 15 feet 125 feet or 50 feet and the faster you answer the more points you get 115 125 or 50. and most of you said 50 feet and the next closest answer was 15 feet we still recommend though don't go 50 feet like yeah 25 feet yes yeah or use sdi and i don't know if that's another question when was stage display introduced into pro presenter pro 3 pro 35 pro 4 or pro 5. also if you want to know how to shorten propresenter's title it is written right there in those answers that is the preferred way to shorten it and most people said pro five the answer is pro four pro four okay steven p still rocking up at top with 449 points followed by cd the faster you answer the question yep the more points you get which places is pro presenter not uh yet being used in nautical submarines at nasa the office of the president of the united states the nfl draft which place is it not being used mostly no one's commenting anymore because everyone's playing yes and uh in nautical submarines it's being used by the president what he knows how to use twitter and pro presenter or the office does okay which of the followings is not a tv standard nts c pal bbc or seacam which one of those is not a television standard they might be a standard well it is a standard it's a standard to watch it might be a standard to watch if you don't live in this country bbc is the correct answer that is a network in the uk not a standard for video transmission steven p still rocking in first of the four owned partners of renewed vision they have this in common they each have two children they're all under 50 they all have four letters in their first names they each drive electric cars what do they have in common i have no idea what this answer is we'll see if this shakes up the leaderboard they're all under 50 is what everybody said but they each have four letters in their first name so uh brad rich greg yeah and stephen p holds on to his lead even with that if you got the answers when we restarted please don't use them uh what is black magic design voodoo or a creative video technology company voodoo or a creative technology video company and a few of you still believe that it's voodoo but it's not i mean they do some really cool stuff for a really cheap budget but it is uh it's actually a creative video company okay on to our next question in pro 6 the keyboard shortcut command 3 or control 3 on pc will toggle the outputs of sdi displays toggle the stage display in the preview show only the background layer in the preview or make a fart noise who made these questions [Laughter] a different bread and the answer was that it toggles it toggles okay here is our next question blackmagic design acquired the rights to the atem trademark from who from ross from data video video onyx or echolab who originally who originally owned atem and blackmagic bought it did you even know that blackmagic bought it from somebody else i didn't should have made that like more worth more points the answer was echolab echolab so if you knew that one oh cd jumps up into first place we got a change in the leaderboard which font was available in the first per the first font available in the versions of pro presenter was ariel triplex helvetica or adlib i really hope it like threw in random verbs and adjectives if it was adlib everybody thinks helvetica and they were wrong it was a font i've never heard of called triplex cd still rocking it out which of these acronyms are not related to video which one of those acronyms is not related to video i'm not even going to try say them because i i will screw it up and then i'll make it more difficult for you so which one of these is not related to video and the answer um was dhcp that's not related to video it's it's network it's not video at all oh it's all network interesting which of is the greatest faith hope love or charity hmm we're changing things changing things up the greatest of these is you better pay attention when you're running sermon notes and get this one right the greatest of these is not charity it is love so people no matter what the world's doing let's try love each other because that's that's what we should be doing okay our next question whose hair would make them a better youth director brad or cody now the interesting thing cody have you been a youth director no no i have so um so this will be interesting to see what the correct answer is here i didn't make these questions it's a 50 50 split surprise i am shocked well so i have more of the worship leader here in my opinion right um but i am surprised by that yeah that's very interesting tyler's now in first place shaking things up at the top okay the official sanctuary sanctioned phenom of phonetic abbreviation for pro presenter is pp pro p pro or ms which one is it please don't say pp don't see prophet don't yes don't yeah neither of those are a thing pro is the official and our winner is tyler tyler congratulations man you did awesome you got 921 points and you did it the fastest way i'll email you yeah so we yeah we have uh all of that information that you use to fill out the form so we'll be able to contact you and let you know how you can get uh that extension or that free year of propresenter plus so congratulations thank you guys so much for playing sorry for the little snafu there at the beginning getting it started but super fun doing something fun on one of these streams so if you enjoyed that and want to do more of that in the future make sure to leave a little comment in there saying loved the trivia so that we can know if you enjoyed that or not because we could do more of that in the future if you wanted to uh so cody uh i don't know if more questions have uh come in uh i know you're saying it was kind of uh quiet on the commenting on the chat front um but do we have any more questions before we jump into the next thing we do have more questions but the comments are kind of funny because i i think i made the answer actually be right if they chose you for the hair question and so so uh someone said uh that they disagree about the hair question i i'm sorry that my hair is not youth pastory enough uh compared to cody's but maybe it depends what area of the country you're in i bet you if you're in california or oregon you're a youth pastor i've been totally broke let's go to the beach and catch some surf you can't even can't even fake it um yeah i actually hit the waves here in lake michigan believe it or not we get a very very large waves i'm more of a boogie boarder than a stand-up surfer but we get we get some like 12 to 15 footers in the fall and it's pretty awesome so that's just a random one for you because lake michigan's like an ocean but yeah and i would agree with you that your hair is much more uh worship leadery which matches the fact that you lead worship so um well done well done wow i had to look the part so someone said devin devin said our worship team has requested a stage display for worship lyrics assuming they don't have one right now my hesitation is if the band is relying on the stage display the current and next slide might not align with their song structure uh so if you're if you're using the the built-in um linked functions it's it's going to always be linked to whatever's next so as long as you have your slides set up um with the groups in the order of the the way that the song's playing it'll always say what's next um so it'll say like next group is first one next group is chorus and so like as you're going through the songs that the the people on stage will know what's next whether it's the band or your your singers um yes if they decided to go back to a course and that wasn't the next thing up like if they wanted to be spontaneous about it it wouldn't say the right thing is next but uh that would be a rare occasion if you're going to move to something that's more spontaneous it's not usually like the normal you know yeah and if you're less go ahead yeah and if you're doing spontaneous really the changes happen at the breaks and so one way so between a verse and a chorus and so one way that you could get around that is just put by putting a blank slide between every section so when you hit the last slide of a verse the next thing that it shows is nothing it's just blank and when you hit the last slide of a chorus it shows nothing it's blank and then your operator is just waiting to hear what they might sing next that way the people on stage don't feel like you're prompting them with another section to play you're kind of waiting on them and this is a conversation that you have to have with your worship leader and your band of how they want to see it but that would be an easier way to do it because then you can um go through this the chorus or the verse and they'll know like okay we're always going to sing the verse in order and i want to know what the next slide is there but when i'm done with the verse i don't know i might go back to the beginning of the verse i don't know where i'm going to go next so a blank slide at the end of each one of those sections would would uh take care of that problem yeah uh someone said can you add a blank slide before the scripture to trigger the stage layout so that's kind of what brad was going over earlier was if you add an action at the beginning of any document you could you could create a stage look for that specific document could say this is my this is my sermon staged look so every time the sermon's going this is the stage look i have showing so if you have that on your first slide and you have that as an action there right when the operator clicks that slide it'll make that stage screen live for your sermon and then you can change it when you go back to let's say you have a song after the message well you could then have an action on that song to start and change it back to your lyrics yep and if you need to change your look at any time and you don't want to do it with an action you can always go to the screens menu and under stage you can find your stage screen and just go select a uh a different stage layout and it will just change it to that automatically so i could just click on band and it's going to change my current look here that i have on the slide accordingly so that's that's one way that you can get through that but that's uh that's a really uh a good question about how to handle um handle that stuff uh one thing that i wanted somebody was asking about lower thirds and you're doing live stream and you're doing full screen and then how do you handle your stage screen well when you're changing when you're using text on and formatting it differently via looks and using your text on your main screen all of this is just using the raw text information that's on any given slide and so it doesn't matter if your text is formatted one way on your main screen and it's formatted differently on your live stream you can format it differently on your stage screen so the only time that you're seeing it as maybe a you would see it as like a lower third is if you're doing a live a screen preview of maybe that screen that has lower thirds on it so as long as you avoid doing a screen preview of maybe the video signal that's being sent to a video switcher you won't see a lower third version you would just see and so choosing like the text current slide text or next slide text will always just bring in the text from that slide and format it in whatever font and color and size that you set up in your stage layout any other questions there cody i was distracted by um someone saying my beard game is on point oh you're so vain cody no i'm just joking that's what i said cody's your tips scales and his favor yes sorry brad yeah i mean it's true it's true um so someone did ask earlier i lost i can't go back past 18 minutes for some reason but someone did ask earlier how would they show something on their stage screen but not on their audience screen like if they like let's say that the lyrics going but they don't want them to be shown on the audio screen at this moment yeah that's a great question we can easily go through that so we'll go back to our song here for waymaker and let's say that for this song we wanted to change up what's happening and we only want to show our motion background on the main screen we just want it to be a reflective moment where the people on stage are getting prompted with lyrics but everybody in the room they don't have lyrics because we don't really want them to sing in this moment so there's an easy way that we can do this so if we right click and we edit our stage action or when you're adding a new stage action there's an option here to change slide destination so we can change the destination so that it is stage only so when we click on this it's going to change our layout and it's going to say only show the text from now on on the stage screen so when i click on this and i click you'll see our stage display here is showing current slide in next slide but if i go to my main output [Music] oh well sorry about that so uh we would typically do this on the next slide so uh let me let me adjust this okay so we are going to it's actually not showing anything because when i click on this what it's saying is don't show this on the main output so that's why nothing was showing and it was staying with the previous thing even though our stage display is showing what's going on now if we wanted to show our motion background but we wanted to turn it off at our text what we would do is we could edit our stage action turn off the option of only showing it on on the stage screen then we could add another action to this slide so we're going to add a action of stage and then we're going to go in here and we're going to say stage only so now when i click on the slide on our main output oops main output we will see uh what did i mess up here it's always fun doing this on the fly when i haven't done it in a really long time so under the presentation menu there is a show slides only on stage screen i'll deselect that a second so that that doesn't get messed up okay so i click on this it's going to show my main this on my main output now i click on this slide it doesn't show the text on the screen it is still showing it on my stage display when this song is done we need to switch that back so the couple different ways that you can switch it back is by adding another um cue so we could add another stage queue and on this queue we could say stage plus audience and so now when we click on this you'll see on our main output we now get text so we could add that to any queue or instead of doing that you could go to presentation and then go down and say show slides and click this option here so if we're on this one and you'll see like our text is so we'll go to our first one we'll see our text is not showing there and then if we click on this option in our presentation menu it will show that text now when we click on any other slide so that's uh thank you ricky there's nothing more encouraging than brad messing up in pro presenter it happens to the best of us you know i there's a lot of options there's a lot of things that you can do inside propresenter and especially when like this is not a feature that i use all the time and so sometimes it just takes my brain a minute to remember okay what are the steps to go through one of the the things that you could easily get tripped up in is when you trigger that again it's it's like changing a stage layout that we're triggering that from now on only show the text on the stage screen and not on the audience screen which means no matter what you click on it's never going to show so you have to remember at the end of that special music or at the end of that element i need to say turn it back on on our main audience screen or else we're going to run into run into issues there so that's one thing that you can that you can do so other questions cody yeah so i'm going to show i'm going to talk a little bit about options of how you can actually output a stage screen to your screens like pro presenter what gear you can use yeah and then some other devices you might be able to use with that um and someone asked um can producer 7 work as a teleprompter i'm going to answer that too a little bit in this awesome um and then let's go to you showing off what a producer view might look like okay perfect um so there's so many different ways you could get your video out from proprietor seven in proprietary six you were limited to just the two screens remember your audio one audio screen and one stage screen and so a lot of times you would have to use like your one hdmi port and then a usb adapter to hdmi to get your stage screen out or something else out but now proprietor 7 is able to make use of any of your screen outputs on your computer so if your computer has more than one hdmi output you could use both of them to output completely different things so one could be your audience one could be your stage screen uh if your computer only has one or if it doesn't have maybe you have a um like the mac mini m1 or a newer mac device that only has they only allow one or two screens well you can you can sort of get around that by using the blackmagic deck link card which is an awesome device because it already gets you into a high quality video output standard you're using high quality cabling then you're using sdi cabling um so you got sdi you have hdmi out of your computer you can also use the usb adapters they're not very high quality they're not nearly the same as going straight out from your your graphics outputs and your video outputs um but then your other options are you can do ndi so you could do um if with proprietor seven you can do ndi for your stage screens or for your audience screens um so you could pull in an ndi feed from your stage screen from another into another computer or into um let's say the apple tv os they have an ndi app so you can receive ndi through that you could you could even do that with audience screens you could send your audience screen to an apple tv over ndi if you wanted to um and then right in front of me i have a ipad so what i have installed here on the ipad is the pro presenter stage app and it allows you to use any of your ios devices to or or android 2 um to have your stage screen show up on so if you had musicians or singers on stage who just want something simple in front of them maybe maybe you don't have the ability to run a tv and the adapters and cables for the tv yet you just want to have this up there you could have that up there but the other neat thing about the ipad is you can actually mirror the screen so if i go to settings here i can go to [Music] vertically mirror layout so now everything looks backwards um and that's so that you can use it as a teleprompter you can put it in the teleprompter thing and when your talent's looking at it they're seeing it on on the screen correctly um so to answer that one person's question who was it can purposely seven work as a teleprompter phil asked that i think someone asked that earlier too as well um so you can use a an ipad and you can put it in a teleprompter even one of those do-it-yourself glass ones with wood it's like thirty dollars you get glass from a mirror or you get glass from um a picture frame and then you take it out and you can build one yourself it's really easy and then you can put a camera behind it and then just put this under there and you can see the text and someone could be switching slides and as as the as your speaker is presenting so you know how to to switch the size the exact right time and it's pretty cool so yeah one way some cool convenient ways to get stage go ahead yeah one way that we use uh use propresenter um in the middle of the of of lockdowns and stuff like that as a teleprompter was we actually had a separate computer running pro presenter and it was all of the teaching notes like written out word for word for somebody who was on stage for this part that they wanted to say a certain way and so we had an operator running that computer and that was sent out ndi and it was brought into our main propresenter installation and that was hooked up to our stage display and so that way we could have a different that was basically a video input that i could show on my stage display and it didn't alter the other content that my normal operator was running for the live stream so we could have two different operators but still use all of the same infrastructure and all the same gear we just had this extra computer sending some ndi video of that teleprompter feed to the tv that they were looking at right by the camera so kind of a little complex there but um but you could do it that you have like all of that text instead of just showing one thing to one person you could have text coming from multiple sources into you know one installation of pro presenter so that's pretty cool yeah um my church we're launching a church in the dallas area um two weeks from now not sunday but next sunday and so we're actually going to be in a school and um we're using one of the mac mini m1s and so they're limited to how many screen outputs you can have you can have two on the mac mini you can have one on their laptops because they already have a built-in one so that counts as one of your screens um so instead of output like instead of trying to figure out a way to get so many different displays to come out of the limited hardware that they have there for outputs we're actually using the stage screen app on an apple tv on the tv that we have that we're going to be using on our mobile setup for our for our um our band and our singers so there'll be a tv on the ground it'll have apple tv plugged into it it'll be using the stage screen app and i i was testing it and there's like no latency it's it's immediate even wirelessly it was perfect which is which is cool but that gets around that limitation of maybe you have a device that's only limited to a certain amount of screens you can still use whether it's a an ipad or an apple tv or something else you can still have a stage screen coming to it you don't have to have a third output from your device yeah so there's a lot of different ways that you can get around maybe your computer's limitations now sending ndi and doing some of those things that still takes processing power it's not totally free and just like uh free as in like it doesn't cost the computer any processing um it it does require processing so if your computer is way underpowered and super old you might run into issues with it but it's definitely something worth checking out if you're running out of ports on your computer that there are other options out there to set up stage screens to be able to see now one a couple other ways that you can hook up stage screens and what we're going to talk about now is producer views so how do i make a view for my producer or my operator an operator screen that shows the operator everything that's going on from inside pro presenter now we use one of these here at my church i actually have a second screen set up next to our computer and on that screen is this like quad view that shows all of the different outputs so one is like what's being sent to the projector another is what is on our stage screen because i can't see our stage screen from our booth most people can't see what's on the stage screen from from their booth or where they're operating so what's actually on there so i can know what's being sent to that another is what does the information look like sent to our live stream so how does that look and what does that look like so we have one of those in there and then in our last area we have all of our clocks and all the other information inside pro presenter takes up that last little space but you might not have an output from your computer to set up that extra screen so another way that you can do this and a lot of pro presenter users actually when pro 7 first came out a bunch of people in this facebook group were like hey check this out this is a way that we've created this extra view right inside the interface to use up some space that they weren't using so we're going to take a look at this so inside propresenter we're going to create one of these views and we're going to create this view over in this area some people don't use the audio bin very much and so they don't need um anything in here and so let's say we had a new playlist so i'm just going to add a playlist and like there's nothing in here and so we don't have any items in our playlist so we could like drag this way down to the bottom and kind of minimize that so it's not taking up very much space and now you can see all of this extra space we have up here for a preview and so what we're going to do is we're going to create a control screen that's actually really tall so we're going to go to screens and we're going to go to configure screens and in here we're going to add a new stage screen and so i'm going to add a new one and i'm going to add a placeholder and instead of using one of these normal sizes so these are normal like widescreen or standard definition ratios i'm going to create a custom size so for my custom size we could name this and i'll just name this tall and this is just the name of our placeholder and we're going to say our width is 640 and normally the the ratio for a widescreen video that small would be 640 by 360 right in or no 480 360 by 480 is that right oh shoot um so we're gonna i think it's 480. uh i fairly certain but now i'm questioning myself for whatever reason but so we're going to go with 1440 as our height which should be three screens tall so we're going to say okay and so now we have this big tall screen we'll see how right my math is in here in a minute we can always adjust it if we need to so now we have this really tall screen so now we can go over to our preview and instead of previewing our main output we're going to change this to our stage screen 1. now let's make this a little easier to understand so i'm going to go back to configure screens i'm going to change the name of this and we're going to call this our operator screen and so now we have our operator screen and we'll just change this to be operator so now we have all of this here and you'll actually see it's kind of shoved some of that content that was currently there in a in the middle of the screen it's tried to move it around but let's create a purposeful layout for this operator screen so we're going to go to more and we're going to go to our stage editor so we've started by creating our screen we've created at the size that we want to fit in the area we want so now let's create a layout to fit in that size so i'm going to create a new layout and i'm going to create a blank layout in our blank layout we can change the size of the layout so i'm going to go over here and i'm going to say create one that's the size of that other screen so now we have this nice tall layout here and now let's add in some screen previews so i'm going to go in here and i'm going to add a new object and i'm going to go to screen preview and i'm going to select my main output and so that's going to be my first one and i'm going to set this to be our 640 by it is 360 now that i'm sizing this out so we're a little tall we'll we'll fix that in a second so that's our main output and just so i know which screen this is i'm going to just create a little text box here so i'm going to create a text box and we're just going to call this projector maybe so maybe this is our projector and so we have our little text box that says projector and we'll just size that down a bunch and we'll just put this over top here and we'll go in and maybe change add a shape fill so we'll add a fill to that shape and we'll set that color to maybe be uh black and if we wanted to we could change the opacity of that so we'll just cut the opacity down so it's like semi-transparent and so now we have our projector word and then we have a preview of that so now i'm going to take those two and i'm just going to hit command c or ctrl c for copy and then paste and i'm going to copy and paste that again and so this one i'm going to click on my object and change that from main output i'm going to do a screen preview and i'm going to do that of our stage display and then i'll click here and i'll rename this stage display and then we'll do that one more time ctrl c ctrl b and now we have our last one and we will select in here you know slide screen preview and this one will say is maybe our live stream what's being sent to our live stream and so we can go in here and say live stream and so now we have our our different pieces there and my ratio i i did my math wrong somebody uh somebody is doing it for me i think i see dan owens trying to help me out here so you can see all those different ones there so now if i go back to show you'll see uh our stage our layout here isn't changed we are still seeing the same thing that's because we need to change the operator view to the layout we just created so what we're going to do is we're going to go to screens and we're going to go to operator and change it from band and we're going to change that to our new blank layout which i should have named but right now it's just called blank layout and on here now when i click on this you'll see what's happening on all of these different screens so on our projector this is what we're seeing on our stage display this is what we're seeing and on our lobby we're seeing this um and so if i go to uh let's click there there we go so now i could like skip over to a different song and we could throw up different lyrics and you can see what's going on on all of those different screens in one handy to use area so um it's a really awesome way to be able to see what's going on and we could like maybe minimize this in the interface and so now your operator is clicking on slides but they can clearly see what's being shown on all of the different layouts all at one time so i think that's a really really handy thing for people to be able to see all of what's being sent in one easy view questions that are coming in or so yeah so just some notes about this um one thing that this does though is it it's taking up more resources from the computer so if you're on a computer that's that's struggling or if you're on a computer that's older doesn't have the highest end specs or if it's just right on the edge of what you're already doing this isn't something that you want to do because you're you're pulling from three different sources and you're you're also adding an additional stage display that you have to have as a placeholder to pull this from to look at and so that's all stuff that your computer may not be able to handle if it's if it's on the edge if you've got plenty of space then totally if your resources are good then then this is an awesome thing to do i use it at my church using it on our mac mini uh and i'm keep referencing the mac mini because it's powerful like there's so much you can do with it even though it uh it's not um some a high-end machine per se or expensive it's 8.99 for the 16 gigabyte version um m1 specifically not the intel versions but just make sure that if you're going to use a producer view that has um it's really more of a broadcast room view for people to see what's going on for uh screen previews for the stage display or for the different if you have a live stream you could preview your live stream and if you want to preview your audience output you can preview there that's that's awesome and it's really cool to do but just make sure you have the computer resources to be able to do that yeah because we have people we have had people contact us and be like oh my computer's not running well and then they have this with three screens and it's it's taking a lot of the resources the moment they get rid of it it fixes a lot of their issues and so yeah no that's that's a really great point cody and um you have to you have to test there's there's a lot pro presenter can do but that doesn't mean that your computer necessarily can handle it so you do need to test that along the way i got the math right it's 1080 so 640 by 1080. so if we go back to the computer i went through and just did a quick resize on all of this and so now we're at the right side so we got our three screens there you can see we don't have the extra space i had to edit the size of the screen in my configure screens area so i redid the size of my operator screen's height and width and i also went into my stage editor and i edited this layout and resize the layout and resize the the boxes and stuff like that so that was an easy way to do that the other thing that i want to show you real quick is some of the cool new stuff in propresenter 7.4 that you can show on your stage layouts and one of the easiest ways to like take advantage of it and check it out and see how it all works is by adding in a new pre-built layout so if we go back in here and we go to our stage editor i can add a new layout so again next to the word layouts we'll hit add and down here at the bottom we have presentation info and progress and this one basically was built to show off all of the different options that you have available and shows a lot of different information in one really great view and so we can see on here we have an area that shows how many slides are remaining how many total slides there are the system clock it actually shows you what group the current slide text is in what group the next slide text is in shows you the name of the current playlist item and the name of the next playlist item and then it shows you some clock information at the bottom as well so this is a really really cool way to be able to see all of this information and things like um current playlist item or even just next playlist item can be really helpful things for people on stage so imagine you're doing like a night of worship or you're doing a ton of music to be able to have in the corner like here's the next song up or here's the next element up when you have a bunch of different people who are talking on stage to know what's coming next these are really really helpful things or what item are we in in the song is this verse 1 or is this verse 3 like they have similar words and i'm not sure which verse we're in now you can see that easily by knowing what group you're in and so if we go back in here and we look at our normal stage display and we change if we go to screens again and we go to stage display and we can choose this new presentation info in progress version now you can see and i'll make this a little bigger so we can see this as we're clicking through stuff but you'll see here on the left you have verse one and chorus one that's current slide and next slide so as i click through here you'll see our groups change on the left there you'll see how many slides are remaining and how many total slides there are you can see the current item and the next item so currently we're in faithful now and overall i know is the next one and so you can see all of the different options in this song it's super super helpful to be able to see all of this information in one one area and all of these items if we go back to our stage editor so i'm just going to more in stage editor let's say we wanted to add this to this slide we wanted to add one of those objects in there again there are pre-built objects that we can add this in with so i'm going to click on my add object option here and then i can go in and i can say group and so i can say current slide group or next slide group so i'll say current slide group and this is just going to give me a little pre-built object we can change some different things about this but what you'll see over here in our properties is that it's automatically going to color this the same way that your arrangement is colored and it's going to bring in the text and it's linking the text to this but we can change the font we can change the color and in that other layout they actually change the orientation of this and so they transform this so if we just hit 90 degrees here it's going to rotate that and then we can you know scale this down and make it fit right where we want it to so we can have it like right here on the side and so i'll just do one of those right now and if we change our layout so again we'll go to screens and we'll go to our stage display and we'll just select our band one you'll see now we have verse two there now we need to adjust some formatting and maybe look at make it uh leave some space between the text in the box there but you can see how you can quickly add that in and now it's showing like that text is in what element we could easily add in those other ones again we can go back to the stage editor and we have all of these different options of things that we can add in so we have our group options we have in here another option is we have our capture status so if you want to know if you're streaming or not streaming and show that maybe on one of your producer views you can now show that so you could show a little thing that says whether it's active or inactive and you can toggle that right on your operator view which is super super handy other questions that we've had come in cody um yeah so i guess uh one thing to quick note here is we we're at an hour and 18 minutes so we'll keep going as long as people are here and brad wants to keep going since he's giving the instruction here i don't want to force him to do anything um but uh so we do have some other questions here and if you if you want to stay on and watch you're welcome to continue to stay on and watch but but you've been watching for a long time so don't feel like you're pressured to stay uh plus we did the trivia and that was the fun part right you must stay and you must tell cody moore about how great his beard game is so just keep those comments flowing in about the how on point his beard game is but keep going uh with more questions here someone said please explain segment time event a bit yeah so what this is uh this is talking about different clocks that you can trigger uh throughout your event and so uh normal timers and unfortunately my timers from running this installation have gotten changed their naming over time but typically on a normal installation of pro 7 one of these timers is called a segment timer and it's set up to be a elapsed time so one of these would be named segment and i hate typing on these things segment yeah anyway segment there you go we're just going to go with seg and it would be set to an elapsed time and so you could start this segment timer and once you start it it would show that in any box that is linked to this segment timer box and it's just a way for people on stage to know how long have they been on stage how long have things been going or if you have a producer or somebody who for your for your gatherings or services is watching all the clocks and making sure people are staying on time or giving cues and and sharing information they can know like when that person went on stage this is when they started now the way that you can trigger those again is through the action palette so we can add actions so if we go back to the computer just as we could add actions of backgrounds we can also right-click and we can say add action and we can add a timer action and here we can select a timer like our segment and we can say we want it to start and we want it to be a elapsed timer so now when i click on that slide it's going to start that elapsed timer and then wherever we have that designated to show whether that's on a stage display or that's on a audience screen through a linked text box it will show in all of those different places so you can trigger clocks there you can also trigger clocks through headers so if you click on a header and you click on the little gear icon for that header you can link a timer to that header so you can select a timer and then select what you want it to do do you want it to be a countdown timer or an elapsed timer so you can do all of that linking right from there so yeah hopefully that helps answer some of those uh just the why behind how you use those elapsed timers and where they're showing and how to trigger them the one other thing i did want to mention that i just realized is i've been showing how to add actions by right clicking on slides but there is an action palette that's really helpful so if you just go to view and then down to action palette we can find all of these different actions so again you know we had our stage action that we could pull on or we have a timer action that we could pull on and all you have to do is drag and drop so we can just drag and drop the stage action and then add our options there we could click a timer and we could drag and drop our timer onto that slide and we could do that there so there are a lot of different options that you can get at inside of the action palette to do that and so if you're setting up a bunch of things and you want to quick drag and drop onto a bunch of different slides that's an easier way to do it i think than right clicking but both of them are ways that you can add them to slides yeah you know how earlier you were saying like i don't know kind of fumbling around about something and you're like oh this isn't a feature i always use and so it's not something like i am easily remembering how to do quickly um it's the same way for me or for any of uh any of us who work on the tutorials or or show this stuff off like uh i work on pro presenter every day just to to get it ready for marketing side of things and um but also because of church like i use it at church everything i know about probe center is because i had to learn it for church right right and so um like people have asked someone to ask about using the chord charts i've never used the chord chart feature so a lot of times if when someone asks me a question on the facebook group and they're like how do you do this i go and figure out how to do it and then i tell them how to do it yeah because i've never used it before because it's not something that i would use in my situation but it's perfect for someone else's situation right and i totally get that um i don't know have you have you done the chord chart used before so i have not i know that it uses i believe a pdf and it just shows that pdf so you have to format your pdf in a way that it actually can be easily viewable and i think you can either link that to the slide or to the entire document but again that's not something that i use on a regular basis i know some people especially if you use the nashville method for writing out your charts where you have numbers nashville numbers so it's the one chord the four chord the five chord uh you can put that in the notes area and then you can have a perfect place you can you can do slide notes but it kind of becomes a pain um if you're not using nashville numbers because you'd have to change the key every time because you know one week it might be a d f sharp e and then the next week it's b e g sharp f sharp and so you'd have to go in and change those keys um for for that but if you're doing national numbers i believe that'd be one four seven five you know um so you could just write in those numbers and if your band is trained that way it's a much easier way and that's a little easier to show with slide notes because you're only showing those those things and the text you're not like actually putting it over the exact right spot and showing this huge chord chart of all of the different things but it's a great point to make cody and i think a lot of times when people um dive into pro presenter and that's why we're covering this feature in depth today is when you use propresenter it's okay to just use certain parts appropriate center you don't need to be a master of all of propresenter you need to know how to use propresenter for your church now or or organization but and sometimes maybe you're missing something that would make things easier and so it's worth learning more but if you don't use the core chart feature because you don't need it that's okay but it's there for the people who do just the same as using audience looks or stage screens or different things might not be as applied for some for some uses than they are for other uses so don't get overwhelmed by trying to learn every single thing about the program learn how to use it for you and then learn to see if there's ways that you can learn it and understand some features that might make it easier to use for you or open up new possibilities for you because before pro pro presenter 7 i could have never done that teleprompter that i was talking about earlier or we had two installations and sending it to a stage screen on another computer that would have never been possible but since i know about those features i was able to figure it out and work it and make it work with propresenter yep all right before we end let's just go back to talking a little bit about like what a producer view is how can um someone use it like what's the purpose um and then can you go ahead and pull up back back up that template or the theme that comes with propresenter that has uh that the producer view look that we came with 7.4 yeah so i'm going back in more and then yeah keep going yeah uh yeah you're going to go to create a new stage layout and then use the one that we added in 7.4 yep so um someone asked how do i access that you just click the little plus button under layouts and then it'll be in there as an option as long as you have 7.4 or newer installed um so that one that's pulled up there is that's a pretty good representation of what a producer view is versus more so what a stage frame can just be for your for your talent on stage so this is great for your town on stage it tells them what's coming next it has the lyrics on there but it's also really powerful for someone who's in a broadcast room or they're live streaming or they're just sitting at pro presenter and want to know what's happening um maybe they're producing the service and they want to know like what's next what's coming up um being able to use the link text objects um and even the visibility to have things turn on are off at certain times like you could turn off if your capture button is going or not in per presenter so if you're live streaming or not basically you could have that as a visibility thing that pops up and says yes we're live on in pro presenter and it's showing in the broadcast room it's showing somewhere else those are powerful things that could be helpful for creating um in the old tool sense um it's a multi-view but it's a multi-view without screen previews it's a multi-view without video inputs right right and so you're just focusing on what is some information i need to get to my my other rooms in my building what is some information my producer sitting next to me at the sound board needs to know about what's next this is less about what what would a musician use or a vocalist use and what is someone that's near me or in a different room need to see they want to see the time they want to see what's next in representer they want to see the next maybe the next header is going to say we're going up on the serving section of the service now we're not we're not we're no longer in the worship section um you have the timers that are counting down so that everyone can trigger videos at the exact same time those are what the powerful thing is that you can add in here um yeah like even that template it is great for people on stage but even that is a basic example of what you could use for a producer view yeah i was just thinking as you were saying i was i was like you know what i could set this up because again you have those apps for your phones and and tablets and stuff like that so you don't necessarily have to run cables to all these different places but i could set up a stage screen that has this kind of producer view of what's happening next and all these clocks and give it to my person who's operating my live stream in a different part of my building so they're like in a closed off room just switching video and all that but they could have this little screen there that says here's what element we're currently on here's what's coming next here's how many slides are left in the teaching notes or here's how long that video is playing that my pro presenter operator out in the main room can see but my video person in a different room can't see and so uh some of this stuff is really really helpful so that's that's awesome i'm gonna figure that out and actually implement that here uh here soon so i love love talking about it because it really prompts these ideas of like great ways that you can utilize it that just make things easier it makes it easier to communicate know what's going on uh just helps everybody be on the same page instead of like people wondering what's happening next or not sure it just helps a lot with that one person asked in the comments and i just want to answer this real quickly uh how do you edit a slide or add a slide without the audience seeing what's being done and so um darcy was asking this and i just want to talk about this real quickly when you are in the edit view so if we go from our show view which this is our main normal view let me move this back over so it's a little more normal looking so um when we're in our normal show view where we have our slides here and you know like playlist items or whatever if we go to edit anything that we're doing in edit here will never show no matter what slide i click on whatever text i i do whatever slides i add this will never show to anyone in your audience or on the stage screen it shouldn't show in any of those places the only time it will show is if you click the show button down here in the corner now you can acc you can also edit by right clicking on a slide and saying quick edit this also won't show to people in the room but you know like i'm on a track pad right now and i'm supposed to be you know two finger clicking on this slide to right click on it if i don't do that right it's going to accidentally click that slide so an easier safer way to do it again is by going to edit and you can do all the editing you want and no one's ever going to see the editing that's happening so hopefully that gives you a little bit more confidence in in how you're doing that editing cody did we have another question that you wanted to throw out no i think that's pretty good on questions there are other questions that aren't quite related to stage screens that we can comment on and answer some of those and maybe answer them even better in a future video as well yeah one one final thing that i'll just show you there not only were there new linked text objects but there was new visibility options that were added in pro seven i'm just going to show you one quick idea that you can do uh for a stage screen that might be helpful for you so um we'll jump over onto the computer here and i'll just show you one of these visibility options so i'm gonna go to my stage editor and um on you know this the big control center one i'm going to add a new object and i'm going to add a shape and it's just going to be a circle so it's just going to be a circle and we're going to make this circle red and we will you know scale this down a little bit here and we could put this you know up in the corner of the screen here and i kind of warped my circle there but whatever so we have our circle now when we click on any shape and this is true for the stage editor and this is true for the regular editor as well we have visibility options and these visibility options say only show this object if some criteria is met and so we can go in here and we could say a criteria of capture session is active so it's only going to show that object if it's active and so now we can go over and we can switch our layout so i'm going to go to screens i'm going to change my layout to this this one here and you'll see our red circle is not showing we don't see anything happening there but if i go in here and i honestly don't remember what my capture settings are but i'm just going to hit start capture and hope for the best oh invalid rtmp so let me fix that real quick uh so let's just change this to a disk record and so now i'll hit start capture and when i hit start capture that red circle pops up showing that a recording is happening and when i hit stop capture that red circle goes away so those are that's just like a simple way that you could use a lot utilize some of those visibility options that you know now you don't have to have a text thing that says capturing or not capturing it's just like oh there's a record button that just showed up i bet we're recording or streaming so i can know confidently that that's going on and again that could be sent on a layout on a person's phone or a tablet to somebody else who's you know watching stuff in the back row or a pastor who's in his office or whatever you can share that information all over the place so um yeah hopefully that's a that's a helpful one there's some cool visibility options that you'll find in there as well any other questions cody no we should be good for now um we're at about an hour 34 and i think i think the questions are slowing down awesome um if you what if you guys want to put in the comments like what are some more of these types of things you want to see like what do you want us to focus on like this one was stage screens um and using the stage looks and that sort of thing if you have ideas that do you think are complex ideas that we can focus on and and do videos on we'd love to keep doing them um we hope we hope this was helpful i know the trivia took up about 10 to 15 minutes of it but we thought it'd be a fun change of pace so yes and i am all about trivia so again light up the comments if you want to do more trivia i'll host a trivia night every night of the week uh they're they're just super fun so uh yeah that was super fun to do and again we want to be helpful to you we don't want to i hope no one ever thinks that like oh they're just coming out with features that they want we want to help you use these features for your church renewed vision is trying to create software that is um powerful but also is super helpful for what you are doing in your church for your events and your context and so uh make sure to let us know in the group or in the comments here uh we would love to do that but thanks so much for joining me cody thanks so much for being with us from texas and from wherever you guys might be all over the country and around the world thank you so much for what you are doing to help people stay engaged stay connected especially during this season of life we really appreciate what all of you are doing and we'll hopefully see you guys here in the future
