We were ALL WRONG About Luffy...

we were all dead wrong about luffy we were dead wrong about this boy they gonna be like we you [Music] i have a confession i hope you guys can accept my apology because it is sincere it is heartfelt it no i'm not apologizing what i'm saying is though i was i was wrong okay i was wrong i was wrong about monkey d luffy but wasn't wrong about well my perception of luffy has always been that he is clearly obviously the main character of the story but luffy's been extremely lucky in a lot of circumstances right and so how i always looked at monkey d luffy was that he's obviously the driving force behind the crew behind the story but i always thought others could compete i always thought others could compete in other ways right so for instance you all remember sabote and everybody meeting up and of course kid had the ayah bounty but there were caveats attached in law with this amazing devil fruit i thought that they were somewhere in the vicinity of what luffy was i i was wrong luffy is so far ahead of the other members of the supernova realize i didn't say worse generation because that includes blackbeard to supernova it's it's insane luffy's fighting kylo by himself and law and kid are fighting big mom now i know i know i know big mom did not take nearly as much damage as kaido did that's how you probably balance it out so you need two of them as opposed to one with kaido goes in line with the story and where the story is being told a lot of things are rumors perception versus reality all these things you have to sift through the to realize exactly what's going on again we have people like big news in the story where information is filtered through them and then it comes out as whatever the hell they wanted to come out as so when shaki was talking about the supernova all these different things of course with kid i was like okay well it's not that he's weak but he got the edge on luffy because he kills people that's what the takeaway was for me at the time right the law it seemed like he was a bit more laid back right he wasn't as he wasn't as dastardly as kid was but he was dangerous we've been following luffy's journey we understand luffy's bounty should be higher because there are things that he hasn't gotten credit for the way i was wrong about luffy is luffy is indeed one of one what i mean is luffy being one of one is necessary and it's not a problem okay some people were getting upset saying luffy was the chosen one and it was taking them out of the story hold on a second okay when you look at a one piece story let's just then he's like well you gotta do it again with somebody else hopefully they win right no in every story typically we just land at the perfect time where things are happening things are going to succeed where one piece has laid the groundwork telling us that well literally there were people in place to accomplish the things that were necessary but they just failed they just couldn't let's start with joy boy we don't know anything about joy obviously we don't know what he looks like right which is so perfect with the joy boy that we know joy boy on youtube and enjoyable but we do know what doorbell looks like but you guys catch my drift anyway what we know about joy boy is one he made a promise to fishman island broke the promise made an apology now we're finding out that zunisha was his partner was one of his nakama and zunisha got sentenced to walk so in all actuality everything joy boy set out to do he kind of failed right his mission whatever he wanted to do he couldn't accomplish that all right let's go to the next guy let's go to roger roger set out traveled up and down to one piece world finally got odin got whitebeard on board with lending him odin basically found one piece that was like he laughed what was that laughing at i don't know but he was laughing at something to the point that he was like all right we can't really do anything because i i'm about to die and based on what really was talking about really said well you were just too early and really dropped some gems really was dropping some gems saying hold on don't be too hasty maybe that's what o'hara was oh howard was a bit too hasty which my interpretation of that is okay ohara they wanted to find out all this information but what the hell were you gonna do with it we couldn't do anything we were the roger pirates what were you going to do just gonna sit on this information that was dangerous and that's why they got destroyed and blown up because y'all y'all was too eager but that's just how historians are people that are researching history researching the void you want to find out information and if you're on the cusp you're not going to stop it's going to make you want to go even harder and for the o'harens they didn't do anything wrong necessarily even though technically they shouldn't have been doing that it's just curiosity kill the cat or kill the o'haras or a kind who did it either way same thing either way roger and i'm using failure here loosely because again all these things are necessary for luffy to get to where he is something even as subtle as roger talking to pedro saying hey don't blow yourself up yet wait until luffy's here in whole kingdom all right we didn't necessarily say that but he said your time will come and pedro thought that's what he meant subtle things like that has gotten luffy to this place really right and what he's been through what he's seen speaking to roger being best friends with roger being his partner luffy's dialogue how luffy was drew really to luffy and that's why i really wanted to help him because of his experiences right and we could go down the line with croakus even shaki all these people helping the straw hats kuma because of things that transpired in the past now for luffy being one of one meaning there's nobody in the story like him it makes sense because we've had other people come along the story and even them they aren't luffy right the power to draw people to you to make friends out of enemies just incredibly lucky a d a masterful fighter crazy instincts legendary friend willing to do anything for his friends like what he was doing with sanji nami and drama island with his fingernails are literally bleeding going to whole cake island to challenge a yonko just to get his chef back i know i that's completely downplaying exactly what sanji means to the straw hats but he went there because he told sanji i will not and i cannot become the pirate king without you and he feels that way about every single person that's close to him so this person this unique individual that was not moved by cena hancock's titties and her fat moth that is different that is not normal how did he do that i do not know okay but this is luffy he's one of one and everything he's accomplishing it makes sense because the groundwork was laid and that was based on the failures using it loosely of the people before him joy boy roger could have been people in between and so luffy being stronger than every other supernova luffy having a mentor like rayleigh luffy's dad being dragon grandfather being the hero of the marines luffy being a master of conquest hockey arm and hockey and using future sight luffy using advanced conquerors hockey luffy possibly having a special devil fruit not crazy but it makes sense because he is one of one the main character of the story and the person that is going to bring about change the person that's gonna bring about change has to be special way i was wrong was that i was looking at luffy in a vacuum not looking at the entire story and things that's been transpiring of course for finding out more information but saying luffy's just a result of other people's failures is not necessarily what i want to say here but luffy is the result of so many different actions culminating into this one special kid shanks saw it early passed down to straw hat and so for a long time i had been undermining and underestimating luffy right and i look at things that he doesn't like yo that's that's is it really is it really for the person that's basically chosen to be the one to bring about change and it's crazy because we don't know what the change is we assume of course it's voice century stuff you're the moon unaware of dawn joy boy opening opening mono one piece or parts of it possibly being in one or a piece of the one piece and one of those it's interesting but i've accepted it i'm full aboard the luffy train now because i guess why wouldn't you be yeah you would like for luffy to be more mature at times you would like him to think a bit more but he has people around him for that and i think in wano he has been a lot more mature than he normally was like do you guys remember the beginning of wano when he was meeting tama and tom was talking about ace ace is going to come back and he's like well ace is dead i'm like you you could have been a bit bit more gentle about breaking that news just told her straight up ace is dead right which when we think back to post marine ford which obviously is gonna is gonna sting a lot more because it just happened he's grown so much him and udon how he took care of baba nuki it's subtle growth yes for the most part one piece characters are static they either remain the way they are become more of what they are zorro is a badass so post-time skippy became more of a badass some people feel like to his detriment to his character's detriment but you know i think he's more of the same it's just we haven't had as much focus on the straw hacks and their individual journeys which again could be somewhat of a detriment because zoro's swordsmanship journey i don't feel it right i don't feel like there's been too much struggle or too much in regards to here we go here we go here we go this is the person he has to be that's the person he has to beat it feels like a two-man race zorro and mihawk for the world's greatest swordsman nobody else is really that interested in it again i digress luffy's grown he's grown up he's getting better and i just want to you know own that on the fact that i i have underestimated him in the past look at things that he's gone through winning i just thought it was a super convenient but again people failed so that he could succeed the puzzle pieces are coming together we're going to see just how much these things are connected just how to declan how they factor into history what was the purpose of the pony eclipse of kazuki how imu ties into this emu's eyes zunisha's eyes mihawk's eyes are they connected what about law being a d trafalgar d water law what is this water what does that matter is there fire member of the d clan earth you don't know but one thing we do know the chosen person from the d clan that everyone looks at and say this is next up and his strength and his growth and every decision he makes shows that is luffy so this is my public acknowledgement that going forward i'm not gonna i'm not gonna downplay luffy anymore i'm not gonna look at him and say well i don't i don't know how i feel about that power-up you know some power-ups do do rugby the wrong way they did kind of like how is he doing it but he's he's special he's special murphy's 101. it's nobody like him the supernova they can't hope to compete how can you compete with that they had no chance blackbeard literally for blackbeard to be on the rise as he has been been sailing for much longer than luffy been on whitebeard ship taking in information a historian it's a lot that had to fall in place for blackbeard himself for us to say those two are neck and neck and having two devil fruits literally breaking the rules establishing a story to have a chance that's what we're dealing with and so i love it i'm embracing it i can't wait for more but guys give me your thoughts how did you feel about luffy initially has anything changed for you about
