oh someone decided to leave this on let it freeze who did that dad [Music] move whoa buddy got an exciting day we got something rolling up here new we've never used one before i'm not 100 sure but there might be two things showing up today but i don't know i'm not good at communicating a bunch of stuff going on if it warms up enough we plan on scraping up the manure along the back again but it's cloudy and foggy so i don't know if that's going to warm up enough otherwise later this week the highs are going to be in like the nines which is about negative 13 degrees celsius so it's it's gonna get kind of cold also we've been talking about the bowls they got a little rough they got some lice and they're itching and rubbing and it seems like the other two pens are getting that kind of bad too so we're if we have time we're gonna try to run them through today otherwise we'll try to do it another time it looks like we're going to stay pretty busy today you got a story for today yeah all right what is it oh you want to hear it for a change so i was joking around with your mom one time and we were watching gonna watch a movie and a trailer came on and halle berry was in it i was joking around and i told your mom that there's the only woman in the world that i'd leave you for and the smile left her face and you could see she was thinking for a little bit and she says she's not that great and that's all she had to say about that last video i mentioned my knee was kind of hurting it's been feeling a little better every day i've been icing it heating it also chucking it with the cattle prod every once in a while so i don't i don't know why it started hurting in the first place but every day it gets a little better the woodpecker out there funny i knew a girl in high school that was her nickname so you know how we got some uh soybean meal the other day yeah remember when he was driving down the road what was hanging off the top of his semi oh looked like his looked like he was cleaning out and he got warm and took his jacket off and then when he shut the lid it was pinched up there yeah did you hear any more about that no oh yeah he was i wonder if it's still up he went on our west driveway and went east and we're standing here and like yeah looks like his jacket's hanging from the lid on his top of the semi uh-huh i bet he misses that jacket i bet it was still there when he got there i was pinched out you want to take the air we use a lot of these clips when we're putting new chains on gates we try to have two chains on each gate well we walked into runnings the other day and guess how much this was worth how much they're selling for five dollars and 69 cents at least they got the cents right but jeepers that's a lot we went to our local co-op and they they were selling them for like two dollars something like that which is pretty good but the guy working there said if you go on amazon you can get a bunch of them 50 of them for under 50 bucks so we went online once you know it 50 of them for like 42 dollars this one is a little less beefy than that one but for the price of this thing we could put five of these on one chain under a dollar each that is quite the deal that one and that one both itching i think we're gonna have to run them up and pour them again we're gonna hop in the loader real quick buzz down to the bowls we got 10 bowls i think at the south farm we're just going to stock them up with hay again last them quite a while since there's only 10 of them and we got a lot of room for hay we'll come back i think we might run these through waiting on that new item to show up which we're all excited about i'm like the lunch lady today you look like one i don't even know what that means you look great dad was that guy in the little coat was that chris farley yeah remember when he used to dress up like the lunch lady on snow i guess that's what i look like then according to you chris farley lunch lady yes you got the knife here's the knife thank you sometimes when i'm at home i think we don't have much hay but then we come over here and then i realized we got a just insane amount of hay i remember i wanted to sell some last fall and he said we better not because we're going to drown yeah so a lot of guys never sell hey no matter what but i think i'm gonna some big balls those could use a little bit of air right here you can see some of the beefy studs in all south dakota and then some bowls behind uh got an issue it's all fixed [Music] we could use another bunk at home and that one's not doing any good over here so we just since we were feeding the bulls out there i thought we'd just grab it real quick when we get our heifers in here which are going to start calving in nine days it's currently february first at least in the last four years our first calf hit the ground february 10th so just a couple more days but the ones that are kind of close up hang out in here ones that are really close like any day are going to be in the barn plus that little pen we set up last time and so we always have these little bunks in here that we feed them in well of course it gets muddy after a while and we just rip this up we've been trying to improve every year of course so when things are frozen like they are we like to put the bunks in the worst spot possible the spot that's gonna get muddy first so instead of tearing it up where we have to drive in every day we're going to start them in the back and then work the bunks closer as they keep rutting up the spots where we don't need to drive as much make sense i don't know are you excited for calving yeah then you can eat all the after birth yeah i'm sure you're really excited i'm gonna start making some lunch dad is gonna run to the co-op and grab a belt because we need a new belt for for one of the grain bins over at jeff's place which is where we're gonna pull grain out of tomorrow we sold 10 loads of corn we have about two thirds of the corn left in the bins that isn't sold yet so after lunch we're gonna come in we're gonna clean these up it looks like they're getting a little bit of thawed it's still about 30 degrees but tomorrow we're gonna be too busy and later this week like i said it's gonna be about nine degrees and so it's gonna be frozen solid oh someone left some outback wraps on the back of this that tire's getting low again does this look for us this one's getting war i've never really thought about that before does anyone ever use the top hole i don't know blowing smoke the consistency looks a bit different from last time it's not as moist [Music] oh yeah that's about perfect there's sometimes it is so frozen so he's gotta back up and slam into it just keep going back and slamming into it again just back and forth puts a lot of wear on your bucket and your loader yeah that'll be all right the consistency is about perfect it's pretty crazy we got these slots in here so the cattle aren't slipping around but it was frozen enough to where when dad goes across it actually pulls it up out of the cracks you think it'd leave it smooth but it's actually still frozen pulls it up with everything else you know of course a day later it's filled back in but it's nice to get everything you can [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so those lines in the concrete are great for not slipping but the it freezes deeper into the concrete and that stuff doesn't come out it's going to come up as good did clean up real good yeah a lot better than that sloppy stuff a couple weeks ago i am here i am here you know would make a good thumbnail getting you chucked out the door well if the loader finally gave and it just peeled the bucket underneath the track that's what gets me about this whole thing is something embarrassing to me that i break and then to you it's good footage and you stick the camera in the grill i think that's good yeah it looks pretty good here comes the camera oh my word it appears that i broke the cutting edge off the motor bucket my biggest concern is there's an end of the nurse i i assume it is you think so well yeah if it broke off there that's one of those things where brian says never in all my years i suppose that's when i about fell out of the tractor is it possible it broke before that and then you picked it up later yeah it's not even i've seen you scrape way more frozen stuff than that see people how much it sucks to be me some days guys gotta deal with this stuff all the time i got so much pressure on me man hey if any of you see part of a blade move real loud that just brought up a good point but i'm not gonna say it now you'll have to you have to hear that point in a future video because we got something coming at least we're not finding it in the tire or something like that dumpster diving look at this the disrespect it's a nice vehicle birds crapping on it let's see if we can get rid of the rest of that blade all right hopefully we can find that chunk of metal [Music] i didn't see it i didn't hear it the worst that could happen is if it ends up in the bean header runs through the combine i think this guy wants to pass i didn't find it good maybe we'll find it in the combine oh i was thinking finding the field when we're out there but okay so would you rather become a toilet salesman or a case ih salesman what's the difference we're just kidding case guys it's a joke you don't gotta cry to your mommy after that one [Music] [Music] another pen done just have the north lot left shut that gate soon they're coming out they're boiling [Music] smells like money all right yep like to anytime we can rip those ridges and just frozen hoof prints down and kind of level things out dad's almost done with this okay can you just go please that's about done with the north lot and then we're just gonna then we'll hit the other two lots he's gotta run the jeff's and help with his feed wagon something's kind of broken on there come on get back in there let's get going hey hey you wanna become a beef sandwich come on go there you go oh are you serious i never liked baldies once i get done with this and unhook it i'm going to actually head over to jeff's with the tractor we're going to have to torch off that blade the nuts and bolts on there kind of get worn you can't grab a hold of anything that's some big stuff right there it looks like rocks but it's just frozen manure and dirt but you can see how stepping on that would hurt an ankle what oh we got we got an issue uh we got we gotta get him flipped [Music] buddy you see now for those of you that don't raise beef you'd be like what the heck like yeah they'll just lay down that's how hard this is they'll just lay down and get rolled over a little bit to where they can't get back up and then they die now i don't know if we would have noticed that if we weren't scraping lots but what the heck i think he'll be fine now he's standing back over there just like what the heck just happened but yeah you just gotta flip them back over it's crazy how little time they'll last when they're up on their back like that you could be thinking you're sitting in a good situation you got through weaning everybody's good and then bam the next morning you go to feed and you find a dead critter in the lot and you're like well why did how did that even happen and it's something dumb like it laid wrong and it couldn't get back up usually box scraping is not that exciting okay so that actually wants to scrape the lots at jeff's place too get those smoothed out as well and of course we're gonna try to torch that off you can see this edge started break one of the bolts snapped and that side's gone as we know later today we got something coming in the mail there's like a pulley or something like that that went out on the feed wagon start torching these off now that we got poop on all the nuts i can smell fiery poo so man i hope nobody pooped these out that'd be rough it's gonna keep scraping up and the thing that i've been mentioning that we're excited about that's showing up just got dropped off at the farm look at all these levers 1547 and it's got the walker on it this thing's gnarly as you can see it's a brand product we've owned a couple brand items throughout the years if you watched the live a couple weeks ago i was mentioning that we had quite a few demos coming and a portion of those are brand products and we're gonna be trying a few things out first thing is this 1547 in terms of grain handling a grain vac might be showing up here and then some other products of brands that we'll talk about in coming months this thing is top notch it basically replaces a tractor you know you don't have to have a tractor to run hydraulics or a pto you don't even need to plug this thing in because it's got its own motor the brandt guy jared that brought this out he said he was going to come out tomorrow and show me how to use it but i want to play with it now so let's see what we can do hopefully i don't break it i just can't find the go button this lever runs your steering and you're driving and then this one raises and lowers i just can't figure out how to make the conveyor go where's the go button it can't be that hard [Applause] i found it you guys want to take a ride i bet you that pokes down underneath things real nice we're gonna be using this for a while i don't know if we'll use it for fertilizer uh that's kind of hard on stuff and it's a demo i'm pretty sure it's 9000 bushels per hour which is plenty fast plenty get a lot of grain moved system interesting day you know the blade kind of falling apart on the loader i guess we saved the calf today if we wouldn't have noticed it for some reason they can't last very long on their backs i think it's something to do with their stomach or they can't breathe very well i don't know i'm not a doctor anyway i hope you enjoyed today's video we'll definitely see you
