We Need Stirred Up by Dr Ed Ballew

little please to the book of Acts chapter 12 we're going to read a verse of scripture therefore a text verse as dr. Rubin feels the black preacher said for the root of the message in Chapter 12 we we want to read I'm trying to the reason I'm looking I won't don't want to take up the more time than it can but I do want to read enough to get in your mind's what we're reading about now let me just let me just say a few things and I'll pick up down in the chapter and read a remainder of it so you can get the picture the Apostle Peter is in jail in this chapter and been locked up and the church the small church is very disturbed about it very upset about it and there's a lot of things in this messed up message I won't get out tonight I'll just preach a while on it and then we'll go home but they're very upset about it and I know it's brother Ellen's dead a while ago I I thought how timely what he prayed was about the message said to thank the Lord for the rain you know it's amazing how we've quit praying about a lot of things we just pray you know today you know a lot of folks will pray for sickness and that's good pray for sick folks that's fine but did you know there's other things to pray about I had the Bible said we're to pray for those in authority you said well I'll pray for him if I voted for know the Bible said the powers that be are ordained of God now you know that don't say that you may agree with their political persuasion but they are allowed to be an authority by God consequently we're to pray for him well you said they're not a democrat or republican I anyone to pray for him well some of you did pray you'd play to get choked on peanut butter wouldn't you amen but I believe we ought to pray one of the Bible said to pray for your enemies it's amazing that we just get strung out on praying for them we like our praying for things we won't you ever try to pray for something for somebody else that wouldn't help you a bit in the world wouldn't help you a bit did you ever pray for somebody that God would do something good for them even if they didn't find out that you'd even prayed for him a lot of times we want to be patted on the back said well I appreciate your progress we're we're victims we're victims that we want to be praised a lot but you know we open to getting you praise and all all over down all right now I don't want to get strung out on another message here but anyway Peter's in jail locked up the Bible said he's between two guards they've got him locked up and the guards one on each side of it and the church is disturbed and so they go down to a house and are having a prayer meeting in the behalf of their pastor my god wouldn't that be good the day of churches just to gather and pray for their preacher so that's good in it so they're down by praying and praying that God would do something so God got the message and God went down our city's power is angel down there and while Peter was thus is sleeping and between the two guards the Bible said oh it's in an amazing hour God goes in detail to tell things slap the preacher on the side and said get up your that and then the account goes on that they came to an iron gate and without any keys being put in it without anybody over me by and the Bible gives us in detail said just opened of its own accord just open that now that we're going to take up read little bit now remember there's praying and I'm going to start in verse 13 Peters out of jail now I don't even believe the guards ever woke up don't even believe I ever got disturbed and in verse 13 of chapter 12 and as Peter knock at the door that's the door the house was having a prior meeting the door of the gate a damsel came to hearken and her name was Rodya Rodya and when she knew Peters voice she open up the gate that rest her heart far gladness she was so shocked up and so happy she knew was out there she recognized him said that's brother Peter out there but I'm mad and she just and she she forgot to eat open the door for and run back in now notice and when she knew Peter's voice she opened not the gate for gladness but ran in and told our Peter stood before the game and they said unto her thou art ahead now that's a typical Baptist Church here they are in there praying about something and when God answers it they now think that's something that man that's the deal girl gun cracked out gone mad crazy but she can constantly affirm that it was even so then said they it is angel it's amazing ALPA try to make excuses in them but Peter continued knocking bless his heart [Applause] and when I had opened the door and saw him they were astonished but he beckoning unto them with his hand to hold her peace declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison and he said though shall I go show these things unto James and to the Brethren and he departed and went under the place now here's my text verse now as soon as it was day notice all night is going by and they didn't know nothing about him had a day and night start on him as soon as it was day there was no small stir among the soldiers what was become of Peter our Father tonight into your blessed hands I commit this thy servant God tonight make our tongue a ready riders pen God made tonight knowing and understanding what you sent to them through thy servant help us tonight liberators auction eyes us speak through us make our tongue the ready riders pin help us to be pleasing in thy sight tonight for Jesus sake a man a man and there was no small stir in other words they got stirred it somebody said wot over a jailbreak a jailbreak I want to preach tonight this is the line of thinking that I'm gonna try to take you down through if there's ever been a day the church needs to get stirred I mean it's right now and the day we're living in it's obvious just to look around us that the church is not stirred up we are just not stirred up somebody said what we ought to get stirred up about I listened to brother Eldon last night when he was talking about the buses and he talked about the little kids running out and hanging on his legs and calling him pop did you know what the thing that amazes me more than anything in the world when I read the Great Commission in the book of Matthew or God said go and I'll look around and we're not going they may if there's ever been a time that we need to be stirred up about lost people it's right now we're stirred up about well we're stirred up about everything I hear more listen I'm not taking the right and the wrong of this your church that are more stirred up about socials in the church by our churches that are get stirred up about their well about their sports program or about the 4th of July picnic and souls and we're not stirred up a man and here at listen it's amazing to me that here is a war a church playin about God let no preacher out and when when God let him out they stand around telling the girl that told him he was have you gone crazy a man it's amazing tonight to me that one person can get stirred up in the church and everybody else standing around said you know I believe they flipped earlier they man I believe they flip their lid one person got stirred up and that's so excited you know that little girl was excited I believe you to clap in her hand you know jumping up and down you said the Bible don't say she was doesn't say she wasn't a man I believe she stirred up did you know tonight the world's looking over the church and you know what they're seeing deadness amen you say what does he did this had no I'm not in one way I'm glad to have no choir to that we're seeing deadness in our choirs you know what I was in the church a while back and I saw something I saw an exciting choir they were singing about what can wash away my sin and somebody started shouting amen and I they just shouted and tears of the poor and evil up in the choirs and they sung that song through five times you know what it was about they've stirred up about what the blood that done for their life did you know we've got a testimony like nobody else is God I'm not excited about it amen you know what there's nobody nobody but a child of God can stand up and said I'm saved from the wrath of hell I'm not going to hell I'm going to heaven when I die I'm gonna walk on the streets of gold I'm going to see the gates of pearl I'm gonna see Jesus and the average church member sets around and said oh so what they live well you said brother I believe we ought to have a spirit of worship that's what I'm talking about it man oddly when you get to worship in God there'll be some styling among us a man the average Baptist Church is afraid to get stirred up late somebody call them Pentecostal I'm excited about living for Jesus what say I believe you only get stirred up did you know why when the world comes in and looks at our churches then go down to the barn see more excitement down there and again here we've got a ride to get stirred up and you know some you sent right there right now would be afraid to raise up your hand and said praise the Lord and the Bible said to lift up holy did you know what the average Church can apply and you know how don't we gonna just applaud to plug the flash or to give glory to the flash but I believe bless your heart like that much old prisoners brother Jean they don't know much about a man but if they hear something they like and they agree with their say a man with a bird church said I don't believe we ought to do that and God said in the Book of Psalms he said you know clap your hands we want it to be like a funeral home and you know I've never been a coward I'm not a coward now there's sometimes my feet gets more than each and want to move a little faster but you know I honestly now if some folks some of your folks died and you wanted me to go to the funeral I certainly would I'd going and be as much comfort as I could but I just don't like to hang her healthy if there's any boogers anywhere they'll be there I don't care for fear along I just don't and you say what what listen I don't mean the church or take on the characteristics of a funeral home I'll be honest excitement in it it's excitement what about now if I have to answer that feel for you then you must not be right with God if I have to order to have if I were to tell you why you ought to be excited there's something wrong somewhere listen how many of you are saved and not know it I mean I'm going to ask you if you live in exact like y'all really to save the north well you'll be excited about that I believe that more when they found out the Apostle Peter was gone I believe they won't regress it oh oh he's gone he's got out we keep finding out where he's sold out we don't know what happened he just walked out and the Larne door still locked I believe when it'll be throughout it locked right back every man and the next morning they start off about how are you right now in the world listen old brother wolf up in Chattanooga I remember that old man bless his heart he upset communities he upset churches if he got around evil he upset him you said why do I man was so saved he loved God oh he loved Jesus he listened he couldn't he couldn't hardly see anything and he was old he had two walking sticks elver morning of the world he gave right on the corner of orchard knob Avenue there's a curve there and his house set right here and of a morning when that traffic was coming into Chattanooga go around that curve old brother wolf had come out on his porch you know and he'd come and stand on that porch till morning and he'd get his balance and he had his old hat on the top I was out and a trigger higher stick in it and he'd get his balance and yet listen he couldn't see good but he had he had lungs you could he could hire you could hear him a mile almost and he get on that front porch and he'd stick both them walking sticks up in the iron so there's more wrecks on that curve run though he'd be going down the street I mean right in front of God and everybody he was stirred up he was stirred up what Jesus done for him you know the reason some of you aren't still the this was you happy that day you got saved I mean remember them hot tears coming down your cheeks and and the glory in your soul and you you want to run you want to stand still you want to tell everybody you didn't want to stay there to do it you want to go down the road and do it you remember how excited you are oh yes and that's been a long time ago over the wolf never did get over get over listen then we'll get that a great big old modern Church I'm talking about starchy starchy starchy starchy I'm gonna starchy starchy Oh dad Oh daddy ain't the word for an old brother wolf in his nineties he went to the little churches not far from that big starchy Church but one morning he got his directions all foul if he got turned around you know he thought he'd go in another and bless his heart he didn't walking out there and he heard him singing Amazing Grace they sure foul that day me they sure foul that blessed oh brother wolf the more he put them walking sticks in high gear and I mean either head Lord Amazing Grace and thought he was in he went in the front door thought his walking sticks in the air and said them dear starchy sisters like to had a heart search the pastor said all oh no the Deacons run doing and he grabbed one of them around the neck and put a bear hug on him and said glue it brother ain't it good a man and you say brother blue what they do run him off do you know most folks don't like to see no stirring of God they don't like to see no moving of God do you know I'm glad I've live long enough that I can remember a day when a little old teenager just shout up a storm you know shouting is not a stranger to the Baptist Church we were doing it before the tongue talkers got here you said I don't like you with your brother the devil don't either amen I said your brother the devil no I may be mistaken that it may be your daddy the devil a man nobody likes a church that loves Jesus and that they get excited about it amen now I don't believe the church the world when they go to church when they do go I don't believe they're looking for deadness I believe they're looking for a church that gets stirred up now I'm not talking about pumping up the flesh I'm not talking about pumping up and priming the flesh I'm talking about getting stirred up about Jesus amen I'm talking about the realness of God you know I'm glad I lived in the day I don't know how I got off on this I'm glad I lived in another day than what a lot of folks look at me when I start talking about things like this is see know what he's talking about you get your god-given eyeballs up here I know what I'm talking about I lived in the day brother Jack's you remember that they don't you remember them they listen can I destroy deny can I describe a typical service that a little half-breed Cherokee boy went to when I was a kid can I tell you what it was they had a little old bitty building they did not have no air conditioner I don't reckon there's even invented back then and they didn't even know what right guard our left guard was it had a peculiar odor all its own but we all did it out reckon we know the difference back we just stay together well we didn't even call it steak then it's stuck amen and you know what the only thing you can smell if somebody had the itch you had activity bags on us our sulfur a man but now listen with that in mind somebody remember that's fitting didn't you a man with that in mind let me say this too that was a service that God got into you remember what I'm talking about God got that they'd gather at that little church the people didn't call Pierce and call them batches huh batches and there's the most uncomfortable things you ever set on in your life you said they're a few minutes got paralyzed and he knows them hey may you remember I don't over I remember so I can tell her he's squirming around now all he's sitting on a name Amen but you know just the the bankers just have slats mail on and I don't know why they built they build them with a hill right where you sit in a man she didn't know how old you watch the land but notice I'm not trying to be funny I want to tell you something but notice we went there and I remember so well the old quark never had no piano organ but nobody could play it well nobody could play it but did you know they met first of all they had sweet fellowship did you know what the one of the first things was on the docket they'd sing a song and have a fellowship handshake some of them haven't saw each other it wasn't come didn't how no telephones you couldn't talk thank God for that a lot of folks think television has done a lot of trouble telephones done more they may have you get two people on you thought of gonna say women on phone but you turn to gossip and men loose on telephone they'll do more damage in 15 women can do more these women say that's right a man is young he's running they are taking around their a man but I want you to get this they'd have that fellowship handshake they'd have that time and you know back to they had that they'd go back to their seats and sit down and an old man procs Baloo no relation he had a little tuning fork and it was a piece of steel that it and he's get the key and having a sliding instrument there and it's lighted up the key and in pecking it and I remember as a kid I I wondered he'd hold it up there's here and I wonder what was saying to it I thought it was talking in his ear but it was just a tune or a tone and he'd say I never will forget it before I ever lonely learned the notes doorway me fossil Lottie though I remember the old man Baloo saying no saw me though so and he had raised his hand up and say saying and maybe none of maybe just three or four had a songbook couldn't afford the song books couldn't afford it but it's saying they're all hymns of the church and I mean just still one another's foot stompin with a beat music to it oh I listen folks if you want to get on my bad side you get a bunch of words together that don't glorify God with a beating and start pumping your foot honey you've done hit my wrong side right now hey man I want songs that are blue if I got and that starts singing and I want to say this to you you could you make fun of what I'm about to say if you won't do it you can disbelieve if you want to but I'm gonna tell you some of them old songs and I was a little ol bitty boy not even saved in a drunkards home and a bootleggers home but suddenly suddenly you was a wire there was somebody else now suddenly you was a wire when they're singing how firm a foundation oh and crown him Lord of all hallelujah suddenly you was aware and all that sang a few of the old songs not many and old man Tom Davis should get up I never will forget that old man and he'd begin to preach begin to preach a simple message but I'll tell you what I'm so old hardened sinners get right with God old drunks and outlaws and thugs and murder I've some climbed through the windows and get on their knees in the old and you said well after that well let me I'm not through there yet I think I saw them come what they be called back then a mortar space how many of you know what I'm talkin I wanna go man a mourners match that's what the old sinner got down on his knees and you can hear him weeping over his sins you could hear him cry they said he was moaning and he was he's crying out he was in pain under conviction he was moved in his heart and I never will forget this I never will forget them all ladies bless their hearts oh brother Jack chilled him in with this I remember Ali is there somebody be down pureeing with him somebody be down praying when they no old lady for the songbooks start Fanning and singing oh do not let the world close against the line share harden not your heart be safe oh and they be gathering around them saying Amen now some of you looking at me funny already but we're not to the good new part yet after a while that old sinner I saw him down on the knees raise their hands no their hair maybe be down on their eyes and tears are pouring slobber you said though that don't sell see that done alongside of people around them they've been lost side a criticism they didn't care what bottle stopper long jaw wobbles y'all said they know there's going to hell necks all themselves 9 without Jesus and after a while I'm song come up from there and start shouting and praising God and the face of the shining and the glory of God on earth and there more women maybe had monotone and the body should go flying and they shout the hair down thank God startup some of you don't know more what I'm talking about than a man in the movement a man somebody said what was what I remember used to I'd go to the river they had baptized in once a year well you said the other baptize I'm in a hurry you know right when they get say they they might not last if it's real it'll last a summertime glow weather till the water gets warm and then go down the river and summertime and from the winter I'm some baptized a hundred and two hundred and in the whole kind of saga River you said what was the church first of all had power in her she had power listen I want to tell you something right now you could walk up on the church grounds and be aware of the presence of God but today we're not stirred up about nothing we're not stirred up about our community we're not stirred up about our country we're not stirred up about one another I believe all gets tied up in our churches today am I right folks where's the dead and cold you know most churches are cold you could kill a hog in July and put a ham on the front pew and it never spoiled never spoke now you how many of you ever saw a blowfly in the Baptist Church because I got you amen it's a cold a blowfly won't even get around amen now there's a lot of things Dave Dinard all that flow out high anymore get into that deep well in there giggling over that I'm saying listen are you listening to me tonight are you listen let me ask you are you stirred up about your Christian life I want to say this there's times in my life I'm not stirred up like I ought to be you ever get that way gee you ever find yourself getting mechanical going in the pulpit mechanical getting a little sermonette for christian ants I can't wait to get the kitchen the smoker said yet yes mechanical it's Sunday and I'm supposed to preach and I'm gonna date nothing dead in the world I'm I'm amazed my folks ever come back sometimes we ought to get stirred up I believe this if you can't get stirred up about your own preaching my soul what do you expect them folk setting out there to do a man I believe over here sir somebody said picture you get stirred up I want to get stirred up I want to get stirred it I don't want to get stirred in I was listening to some programs about America today and I Got News for you folks you listened to me I know America has got all of our problems nursing much scene here it's hard for us to point our finger anywhere else but I love my country I mean I don't want just love it on the 4th of July I don't want to live or howl here and you know what somebody said you're an old man would you fight for your country go farther than that die for my country now just up your break can any man yes siree listen when this time when the when these draft dodgers was burning their draft cards you know and running off to Canada I said blessed God let him go no to stay if they won't to a man now that's the way I believe in patriotism I believe it well you said it was my brother you're just about our brother that's all I can say Amen you say well I Got News for You friend of mine there's some thank you I'll get started about gonna get stirred up about I believe all to get conscious of something listen this simple this thing about abortion I've got to thinking the other day you know when that things happened when it started happening when they made it in law why you couldn't turn on your radio I mean you just go to church in I mean you knew the preachers gonna say something about you know that but you know now it's died down now you ever hear a preacher say anything about hardly there used to be a day when a preacher got in the pulpit he preached against the evil of alcohol but we're not even stirred up about that did you know what a long tab I don't know wait a minute I think I do didn't this town go wet just a few what was the year how many years ago two years ago two years ago you know why well you know how I've done it the church quit being stirred they couldn't do it 10 years ago they couldn't do it 15 years ago they couldn't do it eight years ago but the church got cold hey man did you know what when the church gets cold and not stirred up the devil has a high day am i right the devil has a heyday he hadn't got any resistance the Bible said resist the devil and he walked run like a turkey like there's a cord in the blue there but he'll flee from what resisting now I don't know about you but let me be honest there's times I don't give him much resistance what about you appreciate what about you brother huh there's times I don't give him much of a battle well you said you can't handle the devil by myself I can't but God said greater is He that is in you Oh God [Applause] you know I read about getting drunk as a skunk all right you know I read about Samson I never will forget that little boy I'd read about Samson and you know till I'll tell ya I was a preacher I see huh you know a lot of folks like that like it's smart all their life but I there's a lot of things I don't even know that out and I'm terrible look at you you're worse than I am I remember one time a lady said I was uncouth and I thought she's pride you know she said every Sunday and I thought Lord God that girl loved me but you know some of you if you just be honest those things you didn't know all your life to a man but you know I always thought of Samson I thought was a little wild Samson was at least six high foot tall and I just knowed he had muscles wept here its muscles and he may have now he may have been six and a half plus and he may have had muscles but I believe now that Samson were just an ordinary normal man well you said now you wait a minute preacher blue didn't he pull the gates up and carry him off he sure did didn't he take a job all of a jackass and kill a bunch of it yes he did well now preacher we wait a minute didn't he catch a bunch of foxes and tie their tails together set him on fire yeah sure did but there's something that I've missed all in years see the Bible said the power of the Lord came upon a man do you know what a bunch of preachers need the power of the you know what a bunch of singers means the power of the Lord the together hey man you know what deacons means the power of the Lord the cannibal do you listen I'm talking about if we ever get God and I Baptist Church it something's got to happen the Bible said and you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon me a lot of folks said well now if you've never get the gift talking in tongues you know you're that's the evidence I'm being feeling the Holy Ghost you know heart you step on the side you were hearing your brains are not your way that's no evidence of being filled with the Holy Ghost the Bible said you should be witnesses underneath there's the evidence it in filled with the Holy Ghost there is and you know what I believe when you get full of the Holy Ghost and I believe will you I believe we receive the Holy Ghost when we get saved I believe that now I believe the Holy Ghost is the first person of the Godhead we mean because he brings us to a knowledge of our sins a man called Jesus is not here he's gone back and see that the right hand of the Father but that third person of the Trinity is still here and he'll ever really be taken out that's another message and I won't get into the back and I want to say something to you you said but I'm having an office battle I've ever had and I had a few myself and some I still have and somehow I probably have till I go to the grave I guess of all the people in the world that know me that know me that know me is Jean and Lee Livingstone they know me did you know those two people have bowed to my side when I was laid in the floor they've shown me like you've never have and never will they've saw me when the devil was hitting me all over they've been revivals where they've solved and they will take his big artillery shoot at me right gee but you know what I'm glad tonight the Bible say ye are more than and the Bible said again thanks be unto God that giveth us the victory you remember them old school books that he used to show us I'll show you how smart I am arithmetic my arithmetic book had the problems here and board to me then and even though they was rough but I usually made a pretty good grade I made it well I got well your laugh and you had the same kind of book I made pretty good grades fact is this predict was one of my best subjects cause my spelling book didn't have answers but my geography book didn't have the answer but better that Resnick had ever and I you know I was too hot about food about the old second third grade and I one day I looked over the bags had grown to be from then on I made good grades but I want the devil to know ship I know how there's things coming out you're getting ahead of me the answers in the book you know what it's so sad and I'm saying it's not to hit you in the face but it's so sad that a preacher just has to preach and preach and panelled and pry and just get out nuggets and throw to you just to get you a little excited did you know you already to get excited about Jesus at home you know one of the things I remember about my blessing a little 4x4 mama she was she was broader she's walking register or she's shouting at home she just shall shout I can see I can listen I've been coming in from school a lot of times she had her devotion even just before we got in and I can still be coming in school I'm here mom and shout see a lot of folks can't do anything for God religiously til they get to a building with the steeple on it did you know I believe we ought to be stirred up on the job I believe you ought to be stirred up at home I'm doing a little girl bless your heart you may have heard me tell about it I won't tell it again to do God little younger still he is having sorry years years and years but her daddy had cancer and was dying and he sent for me and my wife to come visit him we went to visit brother ray and got there he knew he was dying he was going on and he said now preacher so you know I've got some family some girls when I was a little woman said I want you and your wife to visit and when you can and encourage the blessing all right one of the little bitty girl just just before start school well she started right after her daddy died but you know she went to school and one of the first things you know she they said that they got a little record player out and put a little record on it said now come on we gotta do some little folk dances and bless his little heart she had some of those things her daddy said stored up in there and she said oh no ma'am I can't dance I'm a Christian she she doesn't got saved a little bitty thing Oh said they know that's nothing wrong said you all should know ma'am I can't do it boy that little old thing frustrated that bunch of teachers she's just a thorn in their flesh all the time and she tell they took her to the principal and so see if he could explain it to her and she he said honey what have you got against Bassett she said my brother John got his head cut off because of a dang old teacher said died I got her sick I've known that family said she ain't got no brother John said honey you don't have a brother John oh yes I do he's in heaven no darling said though yes sir said John the Baptist and suddenly she had him up in the corner she said that little dancing girl danced Huichol around out on the floor and her mother charged her to ask for the head that John the Baptist and the charge and she did they went to prison and cut his head off and she said my brother John they cut his head no she had him in a corner and you know all years she all of time of school she take a blueness sandwich and bound head and ask a blessing over she read a little Testament and witness to her little friends and one day they went back from one of the recess times and the teachers all over the school now she by then was in high school by then the teachers had missed all they looked around some of their students going on this class and somehow that class and man it was bad and this was going out of the room looking for the principal trying to find out what was wrong and the old janitor come up out of the basement tears streaming down his old face it was covered him in coal dust and he said you're missing some students aren't you suggest you know where they're at he said follow me and during the day those people she had witness to had gotten her conviction and they'd went to her and asked her if she could show them how to get saved and she took them not just Warner but a whole bunch of them down in the basement to the Colby and got out there and had him on their knees leading them to Jesus when the teachers got in there Monday she said no clan - I got really scared today and I said what was it mrs. after that it happened said the principal called me to his office today that said he did yeah I said what - what happened she said he called me and he got up and shut the door and said Judy I want to talk to you about something she said yes sir he said Judy would you tell me how to get say she's excited i she stirred up about being saved I never did get over it a man it wasn't something that was a flash in the pan Jesus had come into her heart and you know it wasn't anything for her to go out in the street and say Jesus she grew up she's shy in so many ways she grew up one day she come to our house so old said no Kelly and I've got something launched it hit me prayer now and I said it sure will what is it and she was going at that time to Tennessee temple school in fact if she graduated and she said I'm glad and would you help me pray about me a husband didn't that unusual nowadays a girl sees someone a little boy said he's groovy he's cool he's living in the end to me is a period that he much just a black dot she said you had me pray about me a husband and I said I sure will and I did and one day she'd went in sat down I believe his temple she went to school I can't remember believe it was been years she sat down one one seat in that vast auditorium it was assembly time there's having a preacher coming bridge it was failed one seat empty right by the side isn't that coincidental isn't that of the new woman see I'm one and all of a sudden the young preacher she told me said I want you to pray God give me a preacher I want me a preach it and all of a sudden the young preachers running late and man he come down that aisle and high gear and spotted that one one deceit and he looked down at her and said is this seat taken she looked up at him and said no they're married they're on the field as foreign missionaries still stirred up stared at you know brother Ellen pastors wouldn't have a hard time the folks who just get stirred up wouldn't have a hard time they'd be so saved all over the place we'd see people getting born again we'd see people getting right with God a man but listen one person can get stirred up in the church and the rest of them look at him like he's a weirdo one person can shout there's one report you think here one person in church can hear something me like I said hey man what's the matter with you you sound like you're saved so folks we all get stirred up I'll get started up and there was no small it wasn't just a little bit of a commotion I mean it got all around there there was no small stir but back warned the crowd got stirred up just because a preacher got out of jail but my soul you met somebody gets saved and not going to hell and the average church won't even come up and shake hands with my thinking son did you know a person come down against saved and the preacher said we're glad to see this new one get saved today you come around shake hands with them and tell them how happy you are about it and they'll be fortunate they'll be just fortunate shaken million two or three it becomes the congregation come shake hands with them and then it's not a good warm handshake it's just a little dead fish your handshake rights got saved God your Lord God let me take we all get stirred up now people getting saved a man I was in the church here while I'm back don't find me you like it I got that for Sunday school and I heard somebody start shouting back on the Sunday School room and the preacher sitting beside me you get the grin that said what happened he said you may not get to preach today and I said what I what he said that Saint Liz's class that somebody just got saved back there and all of a sudden they come out that Sunday school class I reckon it was ain't Lizzy or somebody they had this girl around the neck to a free I'm patting her on the back her laughing the cried foul him trying to shake hands with her and aunt lives he I reckon what's it her she just got saved and that bunch out there started shouting they had running up I never didn't get to preach I never did and I had a real message let me ask you something are you stirred up about Jesus now wait a minute then are you really stirred up about what Jesus done for you you know we already a stirred up about this work you know I don't I don't appreciate when people start trying to take it said we can't understand that book let's write us another one listen listen I'm just an old country boy with very little education I can understand this book when the Holy Spirit gives me the other they understand in a man that's we're not gonna understand and the reason they're having to write different interpretations here most of them are obscene even if I just had God don't let men understand it this is no private interpretation it's spiritually discerned let me ask you soon now let me say this and I'm not trying to be a smart Nick I'm not trying to imply my super Saint God knows I'm a 10 million mile from what I ought to be and don't sit there and accurate like you're not we all can move up a whole lot a man but let me tell you something right in there we need some preachers to get in the pulpit the sturdy we're just preaching a little sermonettes with no power of God on it listen I know when God's not with me I know when I've not got God on me and you do too late man you can get up here and make a little speech but that cloud out that can tell what the gods in it know they may there's nippers in the speech and the power of God you know that was some men with Jesus the Bible said they took notice him that they had been with Jesus they there's an old lady I used to know she her favorite flower was roses roses and you could tell when you met her she never bought a bottle of perfume I don't get in her life but you'd meet her when the flower when the roses in blue and she lived among them roses and lots of fragrance was red but you know what else I know a fellow one day that a stunt got close to him and you could tell that to nobody else wound around him amen you said what are you saying I'm trying to let you know something we all get close enough to God that the world knows who we've been running around with [Music] are you listening what I'm saying tonight now ask yourself the question are you stirred up are you excited about being saved are you stirred up about the blood of Jesus are you stirred up and you're sold and got a burden for a dying world that you know right thighs one of our biggest problems we don't have a burden no more we don't have a burden for nobody I appreciate now I'm just not trying to say this I know them I guess better than anybody else I appreciate Leeanne Jean I really do they'll get down that old bus and head out to a country to go to some jail or priest Jesus and they're excited about that and I've been around prisons well in the hot summer time they smelled bad don't to change cause those prisoners don't have any the facilities a lot of them just take a bath twice a week know our conditioning facilities and the body odor is terrible knock you down there there sometimes it's uh bad but you know what they're stirred up about that they're stirred up about that I heard him in that I just knew he didn't know I said he is going around talking to people said I got permission to come into that press are you did you get what I'm saying he's excited about going to jail I wish I had $10,000 to support him every month at listen they wouldn't never have another need in the world they could just go oh listen I could supply ever need that I wish I could just get churches to get stirred up about mission work I know the church right now that's got their money in three banks you said why because a bank will only ensure up to so much and they got some much money in the bank they have to put in three banks for a banks to cover it your pastor my dear friend right now here's what he gets on the job he draws I think it's four hundred and some dollars a week and the church pays him $400 a week and better they don't owe a single dime in the world not opinion no we're not a penny and you know say well how much they give to missions not a red copper sin I wouldn't be a member of that church for nothing to wear I wouldn't give him a dime I wouldn't give him a dime to buy a medicine dropper full of water I believe Jesus was a foreign missionary and I believe a church that's not mission minded is not Bible II or not biblically oriented I believe our mission is to go you and my preaching the truth to not ever when you said that means that we just oughta send missionaries out of our church that means you're a missionary to them that lives next door that means you're a missionary then folks down there heart is when you go in to get a biscuit that means you're a missionary when you go to quizzes that means you're a missionary when you go to Kmart a man you said that told me out can you imagine anything greater get throwed out about let's get thrown out of Kmart fart tell somebody about Jesus he stirred it excited thrilled you said what about like oh brother wolf he heard Amazing Grace and got snotty about followed it up and got throwed out for it no hallelujah listen to me folks they threw the old man right out mouth but never told you that pushed him out the door but he went down the sidewalk original Usher's shouting the praises of God he said rejoice because your names written there how many of you know your names written have you had a rejoicing spell eye to eye on but not major things it's not great it's not cardinal doctrines of the Bible but you know I'm so excited about it they're excited they're Methodist people isn't that a slap in the face that's bad news do you know what I may not get the preach time when I get that cause they're out witness and all the time getting people sitting there getting them in there they get in the morning it and when they get him in there they'll have a shot and spell over it the Bible said rejoice because your names written down he said if you're breathin he said let everything that hath breath praise the Lord how many of you are breathing somebody I'm not too sure about good three I look like an escapee from a funeral home Amy I remember a story I read one time there's a federal that went every time the preacher got up to preach he'd go to sleep and that preacher said to his beacon said wake that brother up and they said you put him to sleep wake him up yourself wake him up you say my god folks if there's ever been a time the church needs to get excited you don't want long ago I saw a feller and now did you ever say something he just came out just like that you didn't mean to say just shout it's talking about he said well I've left that church were that bad church were on that well I said what you down so he'll not long yes to the left that into well I believe last time I saw he was out yeah I left that and I said what are you looking for he said I'm looking for a spiritual church I said brother why don't you get spiritual and you won't have to look for did you know there's a lot of folks that won't watch somebody else shout while you can be shouting yourself I don't want you to do my shout I don't want you to do my praise and for God the Bible said if I hold their peace the stones will cry now I don't want no rocks doing myself let everything that hath breath praise the Lord I told you about the preacher and I'm not trying to be funny folks listen to me ask yourself tonight when you go home and my stirred up am i really stirred up do I am I even excited about what Jesus has done for me do I sit there service after service is like I'm not on a log if there any glory in my soul is there any joy unspeakable and full of glory is there any of that now ask yourself that tonight I taught me I told you about the time I went to the church I was down from the pulpit preaching and their little pastor had our high stage up here little pastor I heard him up behind me crying and he's seen every now looked around at him I said preacher what's the matter he said I'm about to lose control of my emotions when I said are you about to shout he said I feel I feel I feel I feel like I am I said let her go he stuck up one little finger and said whoopee [Music] one said is that it ho he said I feel such a sense of relief did you know our average church tonight is not something that the world longing to get around first of all there's no there's no seal no God they say you and I'm not just shooting at this church I'm saying that about your church probably brother I'll be over there when he says I'm over there August the one I can't remember begins the 8th of August and probably I could preach this same message over there good they're probably sitting there like a nod on a log to a man you said what are you talking about well that's about the way all of them sorry may they may we get stirred up a little bit during a revival amen and then that's about it but my folks listen to me listen we ought to be excited about living for Jesus we want to be excited about what God's done for us and it's doing for us and wolfs the new forest am i right then the question is tonight are you stirred up are you stirred are you really stirred do you need God to build a fire in your soul I do preacher I mean I need a fire to blaze in myself now you may think I'm crazy but honestly and I'm not Paul said this one thing I do forgetting those things which are behind I may preach on that tomorrow night I'm not sure now I don't believe Paul was talking about forgetting everything I'll be there's some things we ought to forget I believe that but I don't believe God wants me to forget those blessing times that he blessed his people I don't believe that gee I don't believe that but I'm glad I can remember that I'm glad I can but if God let me I'd like to go back and get right in the middle of one of them services with you elder I'd like to get right in the middle and you folks know what a loblolly is that's when it comes to big rain you're barefooted before the ball gets out there just moves your feet up and down that mud starts coming up between your toes that's a lob lovely I'd like to get right in the middle of a religious lob love just the Holy Ghost squirting up everywhere right oh I can hardly wait unless you believe I've told them that you folks coming to saying we're already praying to God will text you that week won't you sing him good songs them good old soul stirring songs Lord God bunch of humility you're not gonna ban I think not how to move a man I won't do it they'll be out there climbing honor of ours in the meeting so help me God and a bunch of my brother's not the Indians come from Oklahoma and there's a it was a just a tabernacle building thus I didn't have no sides in it and one of them Indians got his trees trees up on the air and when the Indians got happy and climbed up a tree and we're setting up their howling you said all that strange God said we're a peculiar people supposed to be different supposed to be different I'll tell you this then I'll come on please we just saw him which is already I remember something years ago when Tina was just a baby I had that I we lived up on highway 58 out of Chattanooga and I'd been to the hospital to this hospital place off million if you would uh knee we'd been I've been to hospital to visited and you know a lot of you if you're if you were if your kids were to come in Mama's and hear you shouting and praising God don't be scared I'm dead scared bad honest but I've been to hospital that day to visit and I remember so well I came back drove in the driveway and Tina was sitting here playing a little box of sand and she had sand box and I just drove up right close to her she had a can and she has taken sack and dip in the sand up poured it she'd feel the candidate and pours sand back out when I drove up open the door I heard my wife and the house shouting Paulina shouting up north wonder whether the church service is shouting I watch Tina she's just a porter saying the name I poured it back out I said hey Tina hey daddy have a big time Tina yes sir keep portioning it and I said what's mama doing titties out see the shouting you know it goes back a long ways with me my old Indian grandmother the old lived to be a hundred and five years old naka still remember sitting on the porch shouting I went to churches like that she sits that's reason so hard for me to hang around deadness I can't understand it Hinata take it but I reckon God it's going to keep me here long enough to persecute the Saints till maybe they'll be shot when I leave I don't know because I'm go home folks get stirred up not because I mean don't let me stir you up let God stir you let God do it don't be ashamed to jesus said if you're trying to crank up the flash I mean get excited about what Jesus has done for it yes wonderful somebody else yes I see now I'll ask if there's somebody that's not right with God you need to get right you need to get your heart right with God in tune with Jesus would you raise your hand and say pray for me please raise your hands I need Pryor yes sir I see you and I thank you sir you can take it down I sure do wish you would get right with the Lord you need to you can go just any day you know that don't you wonderful another needs to get right with God now I'm gonna give an invitation just as soon as I pray and I'm gonna give an invitation if God deals for your heart you want to come here and get on your knees I want you to do it our Father they're getting ready to sing our invitation him now I pray tonight my lord that you speak to the hearts God that raised their hands and help them to see the need get stirred up getting up close to Jesus while they're down here said Lord anything that's not right I want to clean them have your way tonight Jesus name Amen now if you need to come tonight on our invitation him you come while we stand together and while we sing sing it would you please come on right now come on right now make that move tonight get stirred God wants to stir so God won't sistersontour and that thou come on step out and come on don't let the devil defeat don't let the devil defeat she always had grown out of me and I'll grow nigh to you God said just get up close to me and I'll just get close to you come on right there sing another verse you know come on up and they're not cause God knows oh god help me I need him but I'm gonna tell you how my heart right now it's hard sometimes when you just go week after week after week after week and see nothing but deadness and deadness and it and you preach your heart out and seem like nobody wants to get stirred up north to move and you say well preachers ought to be stirred up it's not easy to stay sturdy it is a gene is it preacher it's not it's hard today to even stay close to God well I didn't mean to preach again but that's the truth god bless you and go home tonight you said I will anoint you pretty don't you may they may think you're crazy but talk to yourself ask yourself am i much stirred up like I ought to be don't look at nobody else look at you Sam well then I'm through sir I'm gonna
