welcome to the channel and hopefully fingers crossed I'd like to say the final video yeah should be should on the one series plan yeah shouldn't be too much to do we mentioned when we bought this it it actually what did what happened here I bought a lemon really it had the glove box uh the dashboard glued shut all the airbags yeah private entry and it really good in the pictures it looked really good in the pictures yeah and it looked like it had just a minimal damage here on the corner and then we managed to get all of the bits very very cheap well reasonably priced I won't say cheap than a Charing Bridgend Recycling and we fitted it up in the last video sent it off to paint LF body and paint and Luke as usual made a cracking job of it he's completely repainted the front bumper Chris repaired a piece of damage on the Bonnet here and he has painted he's repaired that could you repaired it actually uh you remember yeah you repaired it and luk is actually Blended that part of the Bonnet which is brilliant for a car of this age and looks a lovely match and then he's of course gone right down this side and painted the whole side of the car it'll make a lot of you happy that the door handle is removed and the door mirror is removed anyway no waffle to be done we going to get it in we're going to get it in that is just temporary fitted on there that front bumper this car's still got all sorts of headaches broken wind screen air airbag lights on roof does not open and various other little problems so let's put it in the workshop make a start on it that sounds nice it does sound lovely Chris doesn't it yeah 3 l 125 or 46,000 geny miles it's lovely is it and auto I know that's not everyone's cup of tea but I think that's lovely yeah right let's get it in I left that boot open Chris cuz that doesn't work on the button does it not and the little button on the boot doesn't work I about to use the keyblade right and you know what I reckon that's half something to do with why that roof won't work yeah cuz the boot has to pop I don't think it does does it not I don't think it does on this but you know yourself all these micro switches quite often are all they're all linked aren't they it's quite hard to tell what is going on here where it is all happening so fast but Chris pulled a a Trestle out there made a bit of a table and started getting everything ready that he was going to use up in the air wheels off and straight off with the front bumper I'm actually messing around with a driver's side door handle getting a bit of glue off it and then I'm going to get that fitted while Chris swaps over everything from the original bumper to the new one there is a couple of broken lights in the original one but luckily we did get some with the secondhand one that we bought so he's swapped all that over and swapped the bumper over door handles fitted I run on McDonald's and got a coffee and uh Chris has already got the front bum off got the old one in here stripped everything off swapped it over and got it fitted back on didn't take much off cut the boats so oh really everything off the other bide quite quick and all this stuff Luke had put in the boot because we was in such a rush to get this to the paint shop we sent it like that with a bump ranging on and Paul Luke had to strip it off but I think Chris is pretty much there with the front of it he is just going to continue on and I have just put in the driver's side door handle and door lock I'm now going to move on to the door mirror I've said it again and it's side indicator and we just carry on with it but we need a wheel Arch liner and there's not not for a minute do I think we've got every bit for this but it's going to be very very minimal if I have missed anything so I'll guess we'll just continue on build up until we run out of parts and see what other parts we're going to need I think this pyro this fuse box I changed all that in the last video Chris has just cleared out what was actually laying in there so I guess we'll just um throw all that in the bin this was actually plugged into the OBD V Peak I don't even actually know it might be a diagnostic might be one of these Super Chips I don't know I guess I'll Google that and work out what it is anyway let's continue on again Lots count on here you got um the back half of the Arch liner you've got brackets we're just going through all of the lights this is where we've established that one of the rear uh lights is not actually working and it is an LED so we're going to have to investigate that passenger side wheel Arch liner in there few other little bits and Bobs now we are going to get a bit of this on particular cars like this it is two steps forward and I'm afraid one step back so on the time lapse you see us going through checking all the lights brake lights fog reverse side lights we went through everything and they all worked apart from that driver's side rear side light It's actually an LED and we checked the LED and it's all working but unfortunately I had to strip half of that dashbo back out again to get to the fuse box it's crazy that it's right up there and you cannot get to it without taking that fuse box out now I haven't touched any of the wiring in here when I changed the glove box so I've got no issues there that there's anything wrong Chris continued on fitted up all that wheel Arch liner that's all done front bumper all back on pdc's all plugged in outside air temperature sensor that's all working that we large liner to do now I can't for the life of me work out what's going on with just that one back side light so I actually plugged let me just show you actually because I'm talking about it and I need to actually show you what I'm talking about so that is it there so normal normal side light normal bulb that is a brake light but can you see those two little contacts here and obviously that makes a contact on them and that turns on the LED let me turn it on and show you exactly what I mean you can see it runs those three little strips now I've plugged this back light into this wiring harness and it works perfect so got no issues with that backl no issues with the little side light there there is actually an issue with the wiring we also got no electric handle the boot handle doesn't work we have to keep using the key see you got you can stick the key in there as an emergency but this is not doing anything at all so you've got another module down here that runs your lighting Etc right up here I've just pulled all this out and I've spoke to Tyler at Charing and he said it is quite possibly that is your issue Rob they are quite a common problem but I guess until we get that out and try another one luckily he's got one we're not going to know but in the meantime all he did just say it's definitely worth checking getting this carpet out and actually checking down there for any water Ingress because the wiring for that light actually runs down there and so does that boot wiring for that switch I said that the switch is common he said common to have broken wires in here so you can see I've already got quite invested in it Chris is at the pop out I'm just going to carry on I am going to strip some of this out and I'm going to see if I can actually solve some of the issues with this car because we'd like to get the roof working and everything else working anyway let's continue on and into the back so start stripping out all of this carpet and this is where I've actually found a little bit of an issue in a minute I'll explain exactly what's happened but for the meantime let's pull out every bit of carpet there is in that boot I need it all out of the way now that is going to go down as the quickest piece of time laps in history I've removed that panel and I know some of you are already screaming before we already get there put it in the comments I'm going to give you 5 seconds before I tell you what we found what is in there I'll tell you what's in there someone livs in here guys don't they so this is someone's bedroom we have got a rodent problem we've had a rodent problem that is why your boot switch won't open because it has all been chewed all the way through and that sorry that's your rear light problem that's why that's not working definitely and then the boot Loom I'm just going to assume somewhere in here there's going to be some more breakages isn't there there's going to be some more cheed through wires but there's your roof pump there for your convertible top look at all the tee oh God I hope I can get this camera in there look at all the teeth marks in all of that I'm going to get the vacuum out I'm going to get a pair of gloves on and I going to attempt to clean out as much of that as I can and let's have a look and see how many broken wires we can find but that's cheered me up because that's the only thing that wasn't working and I was going to change that module it looks like now we're not going to need to change that module but we're going to need to do some serious repairs here aren't we right it's good to find it this quickly though isn't it I am also going to be removing this side and just double-checking everything now that we found all of that look all the teeth marks and everything so clean up after their little buggers just in there with the vacuum suck up as much of it as you can low down I've got a pair of gloves on I'm going to put my hands in there and pull the motor out straight onto those wires though get those repaired got some little solders there solder three new wires on there solder the plug back on get that plugged in get the light working right baby steps and all that but as I said before you got those fre LEDs there and I've just wired that one up and plugged it in and as you can see they are now all working I've repaired The Wire and I actually cut out all of the damage because there was like let's get Focus there was actually teeth marks all the way up the wire which was ridiculous and I cut that piece of wire in them out the door panel of the old crafter door that we had so I've got that there you can see that I've removed that foam completely it's got a lot of teeth marks in it and I know this is a bit of a weird question but is is that a mouse droing or is that a rat droing it is quite large isn't it you can see right in the middle of the screen there also I've taken out the motor this is saturated I mean it is soaked you just if I drop it on the floor you can see all of that coming out of it and I'm going to be completely honest I don't know if that's water or actual urine because it stinks and if you look in here I mean I've had the heat gun in there so it has been drying it out a bit but it's quite sticky and wet in there and it stinks and it's attracting a few uh insects I reckon that that is probably urine and I've got the roof motor out I'm going to disconnect the battery I'm going to clean up all of the contacts on that and then start trying to chase this boot Loom back and see if I can find that issue I'm not going to timlapse it anymore I'll just let you know if I find the problem it is a bit of a Chase and I know it actually all looks like a bit of a mess but you can see I've still got that back light plugged in and what I've done is actually removed both of those relays out of the motor you can see they removed there let me try and move that lower a little bit more out the way I've got them there because they're actually lower this unplug that right I've unplugged these re removed these relays I've cleaned all of this up with contact cleaner I've also cleaned up these two main suppliers here with contact cleaner got the plugs here they've all been cleaned up as well got it here I've unplugged this box which is obviously a motor control unit of some description um I'm not going to pretend I know exactly what it is because I don't but it's down there next to the roof motor so you'd like to assume that that's something to do with it I've cleaned all of that out with contact cleaner and also you can actually open up the bottom of it and it is immaculate in side there there's no signs of any kind of water Ingress at all or urine so what I did was remove those relays Let's uh get that jump P back up here a little bit and the one thing I did want to roll out before I start chasing my tail even more because I'm convinced there's I still haven't got this latch working and I'm convinced that that's got to be something to do with this but after I remove those relays what I've done is if I put Earth to it there and live there's nothing wrong with that motor it's running perfect and it's doing what it should be doing so I've got no problems with that whatsoever now and it's only because it's got a little bit of where it was sitting in that foam and you can see look there's a bit of rust there I don't want to touch it cuz it could be urine couldn't it but there's a bit of rust on the bottom of there is it I don't know but I will clean that up I've washed the um I've washed the pad out the pad is out there soaking I've cleaned it up with some Jenny chem um 101 cleaner and I'm just going to continue on until I get this boot latch working and then we'll plug cuz I've had all this plugged in and I've tried it and it didn't make any difference I've also undone the emergency release on the roof just so that when I was messing around with a motor it didn't put any strain on it if it tried to open the roof so I guess I continue to try and get that latch working and let you know how I got on for got to show you his bedroom guys I found that as well that was up that way it's been chewed right through and then they've been grabbing the bedding and obviously all of that beding was inside that little hole so I'm going to get the rest of that out of there so the next day and I don't want s we are right down a rabbit hole with this one Chris is is now back and I've ended up lifting up the back seat seeing all of this chewed up foam and in the end you can see we have stripped out so much of this car trying to find an issue anyway we've chucked the diagnostic on it Chris has gone through it and it's come up with you can't really read that but I'll get you to share it out in a minute H sensor yeah which are a little magnet in a switch Yeah convertible to top compartment lid locked so basically what tells the system that this top is shut I'm just going to back up there so what Chris is saying is this actual lid cover I'm now going to pass him the camera and he'll show you what he's just found and my guess is if it don't tell the system this is shut the boot won't open cuz they did right I mean luckily you w this open didn't you we got another broken wire there or chewed wire broken or chewed so I'm going to repair that yeah we give that back to you and um we get that repaired and see if it makes any difference fingers crossed with that wire repaired we've got a flashing roof light that we've never had and we've already got the diagnostic machine loaded up convertible top continue ignition is on right let's uh uh clear clear it we know it I've already took a photo so clear it and then rescan it no fault codes well that's cured that one so we're possibly One Step nearer whether you got to put the windows all back up Rob yeah and then let it should I fire it up um probably better that's funny windows won't go up well they not ah it thought that the roof wasn't all the way shut it's doing something now is it yes Johnny is it all doing it all right yep he's had gone and fixed it all the windows should shut me shouldn't they well done mate all right mate well done all right I'm going to go back to me bookkeeping yeah should we um you can put it all back together got put it all back together yeah all right mate do you want to turn that off yeah oh well happy with that well happy with that M that's got to be opened and insulation tap put around that um solder stick um I did did make sure it wasn't going to catch on anything so all right should I give you this back mate no just cut it just cut it someone's happy I'm going to put it all back together without even recording it it's too much I was on that all day quite a nice shot here I think Chris opened this one up really by doing a shot on the fold Ranger I thought that did come out really good so decided to do exactly the same on this one and you can see it's just one rear door card I removed I managed to see on the other one got that put back in there and then move straight on to getting the rear bench seat fitted and then start the process of cleaning that up before I lay the base down in there really cracking on with this now I vacuumed it out got that side panel all put back in there all back on its original Clips got rid of every single bit of foam in there and I thought do you know what why these seats are out they are I'm just going to show you this one this base you can see it is quite minging and I mean you can see down there quite minging and again the back as well but if that is not a before and after I don't know what is can you see the line that I've put in down there Jenny Kem have bought out a new product hopefully that zoomed in super clean 101 and that is exactly what I've got knocked up in this bottle I've sprayed a little bit on there I've done a line down there and given out a quick wipe over you would have seen it on the time lapse and I've done that panel as well so it's just that panel and that half of the seat to do but check that out for a difference we have got a discount code for Jenny km for you guys so that is in the description down below if you want to all any Products off of their website there is a discount available using our code let's carry on and get all of this looking the same so with that cleaned up and you've seen it I'll just carry on get the rest of it cleaned up two head rests there and then the base of the seat get that in you just got two seat belts to pull through there and then right at the front they just literally bang in there's a couple of Clips they Bang into so got them in and then moved on to building all that Dash back up now unfortunately I had to strip a lot of it out because I went through every single fuse to see if I could find the issue with that back light and I guess it turned out it was just that wiring issue so putting all that back together and that is the inside all put back together quite happy with that not happy with a wood trim don't like it but is only that bit there in the handles and around the gear stick that can always be changed now I'm just going to put the roof up I'm going to crack on and get the rest of all of this lot put back in the back of it because I had it of course all out yesterday wherever I put the key and I can actually there it is down there of course yeah I forgot to say as well this now works that that wires repaired but you can see I've got to put all that pump in I've got to put all of everything back where it should be and the foam that come from around the pump I've got it in spray booth with a heater in there and I had to turn it off in the end because it's stunk so what I'm probably going to do is whip down to Tyler and grab a new one of them but there is still a lot of stuff over here that all need to put in back boot rubber back light once bolting in so I am going to crack on with all of that so I might as well put everything back in here that I've got out here now let's get it all back in and get everything situated and then I'll run down and get those new plastic bits that go in the inner quarter panel there from bridg and recycling BMW spares down in Ashford Ching Kent and and yeah that's the rest of it put back together just some last little couple of bits to do a quick whip down to Charing got that Wing bracket that goes on the bottom that holds a side skirt a new plug for the horn Chris is going to solder stick or solder that on there in a minute and of course a new Arch liner and most important the bit that the rat had eaten through which is your vents isn't it in the boot and the cover that goes over the top of it that does just clip in I'll get that clipped in get the wiring harness in there we're not going to record it we're just going to continue on until this one is finished because we got Liam de here in about an hour to fit a new wind screen let's get on just waiting for Liam to turn up and do the wind screen it's got a little crack in it but it's all done there is still an ABS light on I going to take it for a little run I've got the tray plates in there not quite sure where you meant to put the back one on the convertible maybe I'll look it over the number plate but let's take it for a little run see if we can get that ABS light to go out clean those discs up a little bit they're looking a little bit Rusty where it's been sat around for a while and uh yeah we go from there so quick valet there all cleaned up been over had the tracking done it now drives straight as an arrow and like I say this car is so quiet it really really is genuinely a lovely car I need to go a little bit harder on the inside with some of that Jenny chem and just get the seats a little bit cleaner but overall couldn't be happier with this car let's go inside and crunch the numbers so everyone's favorite bit the numbers but I'm going to go back to when we first bought that car I mentioned it to you the next morning it was on Copart and it was buy now 1,250 and I said to you oh I like the look at that so I made a it was B now best offer so I offered ,000 woke up in the morning and it was rejected but somebody had made a bid on it on Copart the auction was that day of £500 so I actually put the bid on again of £1,000 on that car and we actually won it for 725 and they let us have it I did so I actually come to £995 with the fees with the fees so we actually got it5 less I should have took me ,000 cuz they would have ended up with 12 and a half with the fees but yeah 995 dashb unfortunately Tyler didn't have one that was £100 but he did have airbags seat belts battery off Etc that was £100 suspension 75 drumstick and tire rod end from cat components £ 3786 right wing door s skirt and headlight all again from Tyler at BMW spares I'm going to call it that because they're actually called bridg End Recycling and they're in Kent but people keep thinking it's brid end Somerset Somerset and it's not um £200 paint 600 and I think Luke really looked after us there it did take quite a while he had a lot on so it was there for a while but he's done the Bonnet bumper and right down the side it looks just remember we haven't put wind screen down on there yet oh no just yeah just remembered that um paint yeah 600 valet was 20 tracking was 40 windscreen was £60 that is giving us a total of 2,3 £327 86p you done that in your etty quick Chris is actually WR down there 216 786 and I thought I can do this and I think I pulled it off yeah I wasn't here when Liam done the screen know how much it was no um asking price now there was only one I've just looked on eBay and I said to Chris there's not one on it they all six series or three series but I managed to put it into Google and the nearest believe it or not I can to that please have a look yourself was on piston heads and the nearest was an 09 2 L manual done 53k and it's on there for 5295 that's a very desirable 3 l and it sounds so crisp sounds incredible auto air automatic air con blows ice cold these seats are a little bit grubby in the front of it but I mean I speaking to Tyler yesterday and I said is that a price to me and he went no to anyone yeah had a black lever trim there 200 quid yeah but we don't want to get involved in doing that no I think we're going to ask very very cheap £3,500 for that car giving us not the best profit in the world of 13324 but less the wind screen less the wind screen of the profit sorry mate I should have worked that one out shouldn't I so just under a grand we ar out of that but it covered the wages and it keeps the wheels turning and we're happy with it it's another one turned around it's another one saved and it's another one out the door that is going to be the end of today's video if you did enjoy it we'd appreciate that Thumbs Up Hit the Subscribe button if you haven't already and you can follow the pair of us on Instagram
