foreign was old but there's two that are new we're gonna try to hatch out the peacock eggs they're not sitting on them there's three It's been a I haven't been in here for a while so one just was laid we're gonna try and hatch it out if I can get the other one go get it so to these eggs brand new one is maybe a month old so figure out which one that is but we've never hatched out any paychecks from Blue and Bell so I've got just the incubator to see if any of these will work we hatched out two little p chicks almost five years ago we went on to name these two blue and Belle after moving to our new property we've kept them enclosed in their Coop so they wouldn't try to fly back to our old home something pfal are known to do and we didn't want predators to get them either the plan is to move them to the Aviary in a month or two when it's finally enclosed for the last three years we've been getting eggs from Belle but they've never hatched people told us it was because of the little space they were in well this is year number four trying to hatch out their eggs will this finally be the year blue and Bell become parents all right it's the next day after we took the peacock eggs in and they laid one more for me so we'll have a third fresh egg right here so our peafowl blue and Bell they are four and a half years old let's see if we can hatch out eggs from them for the first time ever so this is the incubator we used it's the frenzy over easy Advance 100. a cabinet incubator that works great for all of our p-file hatching projects it easily holds the six eggs that we've collected over about six days from our peahen the only thing that doesn't seem to work right is our humidity pump so I just add some water several times a day at the bottom to keep the humidity up so I just realized the other day I didn't put these peacock eggs in my calendars I I wasn't quite sure on where I was at on these and within the 18 th so I think a few of these are within about three four days of potentially hatching if there's anything developing and we've never had anything developed on here and so I want to Candle them really quick just to see if anything's good if anything's bad we never found that one egg that was really old let's see if we can figure out what's going on here the coloring looks good but I don't see movement yet okay I'm not sure on that one yet but development does look good so let's look at egg number two huh I think there's some movement there yes [Music] yes oh my goodness oh my gosh it's been it's been five years since we hatched our our paychecks and they've been laying eggs for the past three years and we've never had movement we've never had development at all in their eggs let me get these back in the incubator so let me take these next two see right there at the upper Edge I think that just moved a little bit vein development good growth in here development looks perfect there was [Music] a little movement there in the top part okay I've seen movement on on two or three now and they all look like they're great development we got two eggs left here there's a total of six development looks great [Music] so development looks good on that one too I just I'm not catching any movement right now I think I've seen Reuben on two or three at least so those look really good so I am so excited for the next couple days to see if we get some baby peaches from our repair that we've had Forever Blue and Bell so it's about midnight going in between Day 26 and day 27 and we've got our first pip and it's this little Peach x being noisy so this is gonna happen soon the cool thing about the egg that is actually going to hatch is this is one that I was really tempted to throw out about a week ago we had a really bad smell coming from this incubator and it turned out was from a different egg but this one had like a wet spot on it and I thought this one must be leaking or something and it turns out it was just dirty and this one's gonna be the first one to hatch I've got my camera here that's going to record overnight hopefully we wake up to a paycheck or two in the morning oh it's gonna be exciting [Music] foreign foreign [Music] this one's flipped around so it's on the bottom kind of quick so our first paycheck hatch last night and it wasn't the first one that was pipping and starting [Music] I thought for sure that one would be hatched out this morning but it was another one that was an egg that was a day younger actually hatched out really quickly and hatched out first [Music] yeah well I've got to take this one onto the brooder gonna start dive bombing off the top oh boy just dope off the top so I can take it to the bridge I really want to play like one plant right here it's a little sweet and straight now to squeeze his head oh no no no no no let's go put a room thank you [Music] foreign [Music] just got some new chicks this morning and that's going to move things around in our router what do we got here tricky that's right uh let's go out here you see chickies oh you poking them this guy's ready to go out first two eggs right there kind of running out of time if they're gonna hatch so I'm gonna have to do a candling on them but these other ones they still have three four days they're a little bit further behind so there's still a chance that those two could have something happen and boy I was nervous about this one this one took a long time to hatch out and then didn't seem to be using its legs for the first eight hours or so and so I was worried that there was something happened during hatching but I'm really happy to see that this one seems to be acting normally now all right so we're going to go into the smaller brooder today we've got our one paycheck over here so I'll hook up this smaller heat lamp for them that way we'll have this open because we've got a lot of chicks that just came to the farm today all right so these guys are all set it's a little bit of a small space but for two it's fine if we have any more hatch out we'll have to figure something else out and then that opens up this brooder so we can get our chips all right so we just had a fill up of our shakes because we we gave away nine or so to Randy when we did our cow deal we thought it was going to take about 25 chickens so we ended up ordering about 25 chicks so we're gonna be a little overloaded here but hopefully we got some good ones I ordered a couple weeks ago so I can't remember exactly what I got since it was fine oh there's a turkey what's special about the turkey I didn't have these guys so turkens are known for not having neck feathers [Music] excited [Music] yep are you excited gentle gentle gentle someone is in trouble so it's always a little tricky to identify what we have here and do by process of elimination and take out the ones we know this one probably a golden Wine Dot really pretty so these are our black coaches they've got fuzzy feet and we love our coaching and then I think these are our white tokens they got a little bit of gray they ordered the full-size one so good it should be the big one all right we got a couple New Hampshire Reds we had just given away one of our Rhode Island Reds and so we love the red layer these are I believe these are blue and Illusions these are really pretty like a gray lavender I think these are americanos we just gave one of those away and so we'd love to get some more blue and green egg layers here I think these last three are possibly The Whiting crew Blues they're a combination of a few breeds to make blue colored eggs all right then our last check this might be our our free special check what were you gonna call this one so McMurray always adds in one free special chick at the end and we think this one might be the same in favor we didn't order one but I think that's what we ended up with here we've got our paychecks over here for now and then our 24 new chicks that hatched out yesterday morning as soon as these guys start to get their feathers a little bit we'll be able to put them outside right on grass and then we'll have space again for all of our pea chicks to have a larger brooder space [Music] can you blow your candles do this [Music] all right so the big tradition for the family is to measure how tall they are on our growth chart here's over the years Eli is just about to the top of it and Bella's gonna start out down here come on up Bella right there bells on the chart at two foot seven congratulations you're getting so big store wipey chicks they're still out here in there peachick house they're doing really well they're getting so much good you want to see them next to the the paychecks that have attached so we're starting to get some green coloring right here that it looks really pretty these guys are about two months old now and then Isaiah and I have these two to three day old chicks that just had these guys are so big wow and then look how tiny our little three-day-old peachick so this is the one that has like the curled toes still don't find walks around just fine what do you think we should name that one Uriah curl I like curls that's a good name for it [Music] all right so we're here with Uriah Isaiah and then this is my cousin Leighton and he's here visiting because he gets a trip when he's 10 years old and he got to choose anywhere in the world that he could go so you could have gone to Disney World where else could you have gone basically all the attraction places and I chose here you chose here why'd you choose here because I wanted to spend time with family that's cool so we went out and milked the cow this morning you helped with that so start like here at the very top squeeze and work your way down [Music] so like this okay use your whole hand whole hand yeah [Music] nope you gotta do it kind of hard yeah there you go there you go nice job [Music] [Applause] we're gonna come in here and feed the Emmys real quick and then we're gonna get out the new pea chicks and he'll get to see those as well you're going to pet an Ebu before [Music] you just kind of jog around [Music] so we're on our last two eggs here the other two eggs from the 18th it's way too late for them but our X from the 21st and 23rd of July they're on day 29 and 20. so before tossing this one out I'd like to do one more candling see if there's any movement it seems like it's fully developed but I don't see any movement I think it's probably too late I'll give that one another another day two one check on our day 27 egg can I seeing movement there on the top I can't tell I just can't tell on that one but it is a little early to call it so we'll let that one keep going but for now let's take out our two eggs from the 18th see if anything developed okay so that one had nothing um [Music] so it's our India blue pair they created a white pea check so they carry a white jean almost fully developed but didn't hatch out [Music] get them get them hello [Music] happy birthday dear Landon Isabella happy birthday to you oh there it went so what a week we've had of fun and family birthdays and get-togethers and cookouts and and top it all off we got our first two [Music] Peach eggs to hatch from Blue and Belle we hatched them out in September 2018. and they were two little pea chicks just like this and then over a series of years and trying to hatch out their eggs we finally got some to hatch out so congratulations you two first time parents at four almost five so congratulations you two first-time parents at four almost five years old pretty cool that we almost had another white peachick hatch I don't think our last two eggs are gonna hatch don't know what our plans are for more paychecks and more people on the farm but we'll figure it out Belle you did a good job you did such a good job I would love to see them hatch out and raise their own when they're in the Aviary but right now we'll keep these guys safe in the brooder we'll see you guys next time foreign
