- Ooh, it's Amazon. Ooh, these are illegal. These are illegal. We bought a bunch of car
accessories off the internet that might be extremely illegal. So we're gonna put on our $500 Jetta. Then we're gonna call a legal expert and see just how illegal they are. He's Jeremiah. I'm James. And this is-
- [Announcer] The D-List. - Big ol' thanks to Omaze
for sponsoring today's video. (siren wailing)

Believe me. I've tried. Unless you steal it from someone. But don't do that. Because that's bad. Instead, be a good person and donate at omaze.com/DonutMedia and the best part of all of this is every donation supports
a really cool thing. The Skate Park Project
founded by Tony "The Hawkman" (stuttering)
Hawk You ever fricking heard of him? All right. Their mission is to fund high
quality, public skate parks, in underserved communities to promote healthy and active lifestyles. And guys, we could use
some more skateboarders in this world. They're the coolest. So go donate for your chance to win at Omaze.com/DonutMedia. And now back, to the show. (calm piano melody) So all this stuff is
perfectly legal to buy online. I mean, it showed up. I'm still here. But if you Google the most
illegal car accessories, this stuff is what you're gonna find. Well, Jeremiah, if I have
to go down with anybody, I'm glad it's you. Let's look at our first piece of evidence. Car 360 GPS camera laser police safe radar detector voice alert, $49. - It's an actual car?
(both laughing) - It looks like a Lamborghini. You can tell this thing definitely works. Undetectable by currently available radar detector detectors.
(Jeremiah laughing) So unless they invent a new
kind of stronger radar detector - [Both] detector,
= we're money, baby! Car speed testing system.` I think that's Russian.
(Jeremiah laughing) Ah. it's not a Lamborghini machine. - [Jeremiah] Aw. - Do not stare at the screen
of the product for a long time. What?
(ominous music) (laughing)
- Now that's scary. - Do not place the product on
the dashboard for a long time? Do not take the product apart. What is in this product?
(Jeremiah laughing) - [Jeremiah] But it can't
sit on the dash too. - [James] Not too long. (banging on dashboard) That's a pretty good lay down. (radar playing melody) - [Radar] Please fasten your
safety belt. Highway mode. - Hell yeah. (dramatic music) (radar speaking instructions) - [Jeremiah] It's detecting it. (laughing) - Yeah. You just gotta be right there. - Well, hold on. All
right. So now we know. So let me get...
(laughing) (radar voice speaking instructions) Heck yeah. - So yeah, dude. That thing, I mean, theoretically worked, - I detected a radar signal,
which is what it said it did. - Let's see just how illegal they are. - Hey, it's Joe, the legal beagle here. Woof woof!
(laughing) I'm gonna be honest with you. I'm not a real lawyer, but we talked with a real lawyer and this is what they said about the car accessories
in this video, okay? This is not advice by the way. Not at all! in California, owning and
using a radar detector is not illegal, but mounting the device
on a windshield is illegal and could result in a
fine upwards of 500 bucks. But in some states like Virginia or DC, radar detectors are illegal and penalties could be even worse than that. So this is potentially pretty illegal, but now it's super duper illegal. Back to you, James. - So this next one
apparently is a three parter. Ooh, it's Amazon. (dramatic music)
Ooh, these are illegal. These are illegal. Xprite 16 LED red blue windshield dash emergency strobe lights with suction cups for police law enforcement, POV vehicles. (laughing)
- Ooh. - Trucks, rear deck hazard,
warning flashing traffic light, other colors available. - Yeah but these are the red and blues. - These are the illegal ones. Second product. Oh, he got us like an
impersonating a police officer kit. Seven siren sounds car siren speaker can make seven alarm
loud and clear sounds. You got a PA system, car siren speaker, our built in public address system. You can talk to other people
with this mic in your car. Nice.
- I guess. - You can also have a
joke with your friends and they will not know who's talking. (Jeremiah laughing) - Is that for real what is says? - Yeah, man. - Okay, well, we're gonna
have to recreate that. - And then we have one more in our - [Both] kit of three - very illegal things to have. I can't imagine this stuff
getting more illegal than this, (dramatic music)
(Jeremiah laughing) An NYP police department
officially licensed sticker decals. - I mean, come on, man.
- Come on, Max. (both laughing) - [Jeremiah] Mm, that's a good box. It is. I don't want to rip it. (both laughing) Nice cord. Yeah. Good thing we have that splitter. I don't think this is fooling anybody. Especially since for some
reason we got New York. It turned on. - Hello. - Whoa, it is loud. You could have a joke with your friend! At any distance! - Knock knock.
(both laughing) Do you know who it is? - Okay, so I got to find a spot, because I already got lights up here. - Oh, heck yeah dude. Good pull. Oh, nice.
- Thank you. Is there any volume adjustment? - I don't think so. I
think it's all or nothing. (megaphone screeching and beeping) Can I ask you how fast
I was going back there? Oh my God. - That's illegal, dude.
- That's illegal. - That is illegal.
(siren wailing) (both laughing) (siren wailing) (siren changing tones rapidly) - Okay. I have a feeling
that was probably enough for the neighbors.
(Jeremiah laughing) And so to make it the piece de resistance, the thing that's really
gonna set it over the edge. Here you go. This car super illegal dude. - [Jeremiah] I mean, I'm not gonna lie. I really like that. Like the little kid in me wants to put that in my Lexus right now. - Again, we're doing
this in a parking lot. If you do that on the street, like there's something wrong with you. (Jeremiah laughing)
You're a weirdo. - They're the most illegal thing on here. It does say move over.
(both laughing) - Berp berp. Move over. - For the flashing lights, it's okay to have these on
a car on private property, but running these on
public roads could result in several citations,
including impersonating an authorized emergency vehicle. Penalties include fines
of upwards of 500 bucks as well as misdemeanor
or even felony charges if it's proven that you had intent to impersonate a police officer. That loud speaker? That's
definitely illegal. It includes a minimum fine of 650 bucks. The NYPD sticker is more of a gray zone. You could get in a ton of trouble if it's displayed in a
way to induce the belief that you are a cop. Back to you, James. - Hell yeah, dude. This
is more Batman stuff. Show remote control retractable hide hidden flip car license
plate flipper, go in. So this is like a license
plate that you put on and you can flip and
change your license plate. - Yeah. Yeah. Really sweet. - This paired with the cop lights, paired with the intercom, it's like, why are you pretending to be this person? And why do you want to
change your license plate? You'll get in serious trouble for this. - Yeah. = I've been arrested for
defrauding the DMV before. - So. Listen to us, people who've gotten in
trouble by doing dumb things. Don't, don't do this. - All right. Let's throw this bad boy on. Okay, so this is nice. This already got a
license plate mounted up from Max's personal collection. Thank you, max. This one's from Utah. - Thanks Max. - You wanna do back or front? - Front. - [James] Let's do front, so all the illegal stuff's on the front. Yeah. - [Jeremiah] I mean it's nice. Yeah, it's nice. Pretty nice piece. He was just like, "Yeah,
yeah, looks nice." (both laughing) I've seen a lot of those
and that's a nice one. Oh, we didn't plug it in.
(laughing) Find the wire. This is kind of a rat's nest. Oh, we could use some TikTok hacks. Clean up this wiring. - Okay. So this is the fob. Okay.
(fob beeping) (dramatic music) Sounds like it's working.
What is this beep? Is that this? It certainly does beep more
than I think it should. - [Jeremiah] Oh, you're from Cali? Oh, I don't like Cali people. - Oh, that's cool man. Cause I just so happen to be from... Utah.
- [Jeremiah] Oh, okay Utah. I lied. I like Cali people more. - [James] What do you
mean? I am from Cali dude. - All right, I kinda like this guy. - So I don't necessarily think
that this device is illegal. I think what it facilitates is illegal. So if you're at a car show
and you have some like fake vanity plate and
you flip it, like, cool. That makes it easy. Now
it says like, "Spider Man" or something, you know?
(Jeremiah laughing) That's like fine. I don't think the actual
device is illegal. But if you are running a plate that is not the one that the DMV gave you, then that is very illegal. It's called defrauding the DMV. And it's a class A felony. I know that for a fact. - Don't ask him how.
- Don't ask me how. - This might be the most illegal
thing on the list so far. You could face felony fraud charges, including $10,000 in fines and three years in jail or prison. You pick. They let you pick. Again, not legal advice at all, okay? I just think you should
know this kind of stuff. - Okay, what do we got? Oh, Amazon. - So this is the PQI
exhaust flame thrower, exhaust flame kit, car
ignition rev limiter and launch control fire control chip drift fire shooting exhaust. Any four cylinder, six cylinder
and rotary motor engine. Sounds like if you've
got a V8, you're screwed. You have multiple flame
options, including stroke flame, connects to e-brake
for immediate response. So I honestly could see this working. Okay, so this guy, five stars. Mint. This thing works like
I have a 2000 Mustang hooked it up and it spits
nasty three foot flames, but you have to wire it right and the instructions are pretty vague, but it absolutely work. Also, this doesn't work in first gear. I will update you guys with a video soon. I'll send the link here in a couple. - That's March 10th, 2020. - We're still waiting. - Michael Vasos. Junk. - [Both] Total piece of junk. - Wired it a hundred percent correctly. We don't know that. - And it caused your
car to randomly stall? Doesn't sound like you did it correctly. Power builder PQI. - [Jeremiah] Rev one, rev two. - [James] Gain.
- [Jeremiah] Ooh. - You wire this into your ECU, and it messes with your ignition timing, which is not a thing I want to do. - No. - So we're gonna have
our shop manager, Adam, install it and see how
much it doesn't work. - Back in the day. BR used to sell these. I still think they do for
like three, four, 500 bucks. And I went online trying to
see how to install this guy. I've never seen anybody good on this BMW. So we've got a very, very
poor Googled schematic. So we're about to find out... (ominous music)
if this works or not. (car engine revvig) It started.
- [James] That's a good sign. - It'll cause your car to randomly stall. - If its, uh, gonna blow. - Spits nasty thee foot flames. (ominous music) - [Announcer] Three, two, one. (car engine revving) - Nope.
- [Jeremiah] It shot juice. - How illegal do you think spitting flames out of your exhaust is,
scale of one to ten? - Well, if you have to cut the cat, that's illegal. - 100. In California it's illegal. Pretty illegal. Let's see what our expert has to say. - All right, I'm gonna
level with you, all right? California is a bit more
strict than other states when it comes to exhaust
related modifications. And shooting flames out of
your car is a pretty good way to break a few laws if you ask me. Don't ask me, cause I
legally cannot give advice. You could face up to $500 in fines and potentially get your car impounded. You don't want that! No one wants that! Back to you, James and Jeremiah. - Our last product isn't
technically illegal, but I do want to use our platform to try and convince
everyone that it should be. Of course, I'm talking about truck nuts eight inch tall
plastic colors truck nuts. Choose your color. We went with flesh. (Jeremiah laughing) How in the world is this allowed? Think about the children. This isn't like a caricature of testicles. This is an anatomically correct, oversized, veiny, flesh colored, giant (bleeping) that you hang off the back of your car. And I would like to get these outlawed in every single state. - Call your representatives.
Let them know. - For the children. - Should we go ahead and
pop these bad boys on? - Not even as a joke.
(Jeremiah laughing) - You're not down to do it huh? - No. - You may be surprised to find out that truck nuts are not illegal. Except in Florida. I feel like I would see the
most truck nuts in Florida. Truck nuts have started endless debates over freedom of speech and are easily the most controversial item on this list. Look, I'm not a lawyer. Not at all! Not at all! This has been me, Joe, the legal beagle. Until next time, woof woof. (upbeat pop music) (car engine revving) - Thanks for watching this video and everything else on donut. If you liked it, go ahead
