We Almost Made It!

are ya okay uh we are going to unhook the uh rita we're gonna unhook rita the rake um so he can use that tractor so he's gonna do something different he's gonna try something different bring him back have some have some sheep issues there uh he is going to take we're going to hook up the hay vine he is going to go cut the corn stalks and um he said that would be easier to cut with a hay bun he thinks than the bush hog and he's gonna we're gonna try baling it he said it would be good source of fiber these sheep are tripping me out so it'd be a good source of fiber to go with a silence so um we haven't done that before so we'll see four-legged weed eaters all right rita i guess you're gonna get used again here before too long okay i'm looking for a pair of blue handle pliers uh looking for the plier drawer here we go all right these i don't think that's it i don't think those are the ones he's talking about i'm trying to change the pto these are black oh i don't know okay i'm going back with three options i have a feeling none of these are correct but we'll see we got to change the pto shaft it was last used for the um i had the one that was used for the silage cutter you can't use the same one or the hey bye all our these are incorrect i found them i found them do i get a prize ah oh yeah okay the kids and i are um doing something fun today we are heading to the fair the fair the fair the unforgettable fair yeah uh we're going to the state fair which is the fair i grew up going to because it's the same county where i was raised so uh yeah we're gonna see some sheep being shown we are sponsoring the hair division like the two that we have i thought that was kind of fun so um we get to go cheer them on and i guess maybe somebody wants to ride something y'all want to ride some runs okay we'll see about that if we can get the truck in reverse that's great okay we made it we made it got a good place to park it sounds like home you hear it right first stop is always food we just we just finished we just finished a bunch of fries and all austin got their corn and i think she enjoyed it all right now i guess we're going to ride a few rides before we go to the sheep show the sheep [Music] all right they talked me into letting them do this have you done this before sis you did it didn't he all right make it count we're looking for eight [Music] all oh [Music] well we had a good day y'all we had a good day at the state fair um super super excited that my little business was able to sponsor the hair sheep division market lamb division winner class i i said that wrong but i sponsored i sponsored that division um because i thought it was kind of fitting since rusty and reba are are hair sheep they're not wool sheep they're hair sheep they're katahdin right aren't they katahdin i think they're katahdin sheep anyway um so i sponsored that class and or that division it was two different classes and then the grand champion and uh we got a cool photo i'll put that here i think this is the right place and um yeah that was super fun it's really cool to be able to be at a point where i can use this business to give back to others that are doing really awesome things um and that definitely includes our youth that are in livestock the future of our industry so um that was awesome we had fun i showed a few snippets of what we did we rode a few rides we ate some ice cream we ate some french fries we listened to some bluegrass we ate some corn uh i don't know we ate all the things right but it was good so lawrence is still out cutting corn stalks i believe i can't get a hold of him he's down in the bottom but i know he's i know he's down there so um yeah good day good day now to figure out supper and it's gonna be leftovers and um we'll see what tomorrow holds so yeah that's that that's that for today um i also came into a trash can that was turned over and and all the goodies out on the floor let me show you the culprit this little girl right here this little girl wagging her tail acting like she's just you know the perfect little puppy hey you got you what's on your head she is such a stinker literally a stinker yes i'm talking about you bonnie you i heard i heard a cutter up here so we're going to check it out pretty sunset i think it's it's about set yep here he is he's here we're gonna cut these um these few small fields right here at the house one more time there's not much on them but a little bit a little bit right bonnie [Laughter] and evidently we're going to play a little tennis ball claire's not a very good fetcher yes she is not always i think she's she's sniffing something out get it girl get it good girl good girl good girl over here here he is coming in hot hot hot hot hot [Music] good morning is that that should be shocking them great i wonder if the fences are hmm there's a new surprise every morning lately yay okay we gotta go put out some hay we gotta make a load of feed we gotta put out some more hay plenty to do today it's another beaut of the morning gonna pass him so i can get to the gate first oh my gosh it's a little bumpy okay i've been missing all the fun i had a phone call phone meeting uh so they have been doing an uh barley they got barley now they're over here with the corn he's using the tractor again which uh wesley appreciates it is warmed up it is it is almost 80. i don't know why wesley is wearing a hoodie [Music] who's hungry who's hungry is everybody hungry i don't know i just felt like doing that we came over to the maternity ward or the nursery i guess is what we'll call it let's see the baby they're all hanging out there's whiskers oh whiskers i'm not going to mess with your baby i'm just sitting letting wesley get the gate and the strings i'm not mad about it fuzzy's fuzzies all the fuzzy wuzzies got help this morning oh you got a rub okay y'all it's uh it's heyday corn heyday corn what do we call it do we call it hay anyway i don't know whatever you call it that's what we're doing i think hopefully i found them oh gotta get some tools huh hey you wanna start to press it down but the shock stuff is you wouldn't so he's saying we gotta take the rack off because this short the corn is short and it'll just pile up on there is this the whole rack you're talking about yeah okay that's why i didn't know what the rack was put your hand on that old thing right there and you see the thing is going back up then right there oh this this whole thing this thing is the rack the other one sitting outside there you see what i'm talking about i was just trying to figure out what to call this we don't call it hay i reckon corn stovall it's corn stover corn baled corn stover we're bailing corn stover stovered over over okay how are you feeling back's trying to pull on my neck the back the back the back back back one pain overrides up yeah he loses the pain and you get another one well i'm sorry good job oh mechanical boy a little mechanic doing all the things need help come on susie you can do it susie [Music] the leaves are starting to change a little bit a little bit okay y'all here we go ready reader okay y'all it's been a while uh you think it's like riding a bike and actually raking is that i um tend to forget which button to push and which way to go for some of this all right girl see your way out i know this is gonna be dusty i don't know how well it's gonna do i i just don't know but i guess we're gonna find out let's see where do you want it where do you want it here [Music] i usually do fit [Applause] okay i mean it really feels like i'm crawling it's actually it's more than i thought like it's uh it's a little thicker than i thought it would be just a little dusty back there all right we've got one male we got one bale almost halfway around the field well y'all this does not look good this does not look good so i'm stopping this one's bad we got a big fat stick a big fat stick not good okay making do with what we got we had a chain so i hooked that around there he's uh turned this as much as he can he's gonna get that tractor we're gonna see if we can hook this up this is not a long chain uh i'm assuming to the front uh the front bucket spears lift whatever you call that thing uh see if we can uh break it the joys of river bottom farming next to trees and things that float up from the river got it uh yeah that was interesting all right we're rolling again in the dust and she's definitely a little dusty but at least that was a neat pretty easy fix i was afraid maybe the corn had gotten stopped up in there so anyway here's hoping we get through the rest of it without any problems and we have a corn bell baby is that what we're calling it what did he call it corn stover corn corn i don't like that corn stover corn bell got a corn bale corn whatever we got that it's hard for me to see where i've been and where i haven't been i'm having having a slightly hard time uh staying in the right row made it y'all made it in the one big field and we got the two smaller fields uh he's got almost half of it left even going as slow as i was going i'm still way ahead of him but uh so far so good wesley brought some more twine so he just had to stop and put that in which slowed him down a little bit too but i'm gonna i'm gonna pull rita in and just sit here a little bit i don't want to get so far ahead of them make sure we get done in this field before we move on but it's looking good looking good well y'all we almost made it we almost made it he just radioed and said uh got a belt about to break so he's calling it a day he said if he did a few more he was he was gonna break more than one so so we're heading home uh yeah shucks we're so close that's something we really wanted to go do tomorrow too and i guess this is gonna we're gonna ixnay those plans oh well that's farming at least we got this much done and he called it before it was uh worse than it could have been so there's always a silver lining y'all always always you
