[Music] so you too didn't you I got to admit when I think of a frame made by a possibly mad timeline jumping science within his lab of super advanced technology and talking fish I can't say that I pictured him creating a death Golem out of concrete figured he'd use like steel or something I don't know and D I got to ask why concrete it seems like a weird substance to make a frame out of and if we're going that route can we maybe get one based off of ferof fluid because that would be cool so this is corvex a man built like a brick [ __ ] house who I can't help but see is wearing a crop top and I got to say seeing his initial reveal on his Dev stream nearly made me drown to death after I fell asleep and began drooling once I saw just how weak his kit looked but then I recall just how many times over the years that D presented a frame that looked weak as hell only for them to release and be more than viable and also vice versa so I held off on judgment until I got my hands on him and then I got my hands on him and was about to deliver the verdict of a hot garbage but as I've played him more his strengths have become more apparent the biggest gripe that I have about him right now is how many things involving his kit just aren't properly explained to you and trust me I am going to talk about them assuming that de doesn't fix them first anyway and if you're hearing this then I won and if not then I lost but I'll be the only one who knows that and one of these things that aren't well explained played a key role in flipping my opinion on him which we'll get into later passive time keeping in line with de's tradition of making passives boring as hell we have this weapons wielded by corvex have an additional plus three punch through so interesting tidbit about this corvex passive used to be different before release it used to be that all of his weapons would Grant radiation damage which I feel was more fitting for him the only explanation I could see behind them changing it is that they released a bunch of mods that add radiation on the weapons within the same update but like that wouldn't nullify their uses it would just increase the amount of radiation damage that the weapons did and even if they did this is one frame so who cares if their passive nullifies a mod 2 it's not like we haven't done this in the past so I really don't like this passive because corvex isn't much of a weapon slinging frame he just doesn't have anything that encourages him to focus on his Arsenal like say Mirage or chroma he's more focused on his abilities so giving him this passive just makes those sense to me but yeah not really impressed with this it doesn't fit his play style and just feels like they tried to solve a problem that didn't exist so for First Impressions it looks like this Foundation isn't as concrete as we were hoping for shin sharena pillar I no longer care Sharingan pillar is our first power on cast corvex tosses out one of those Thumpers from halflife 2 that sends out pulses period ically causing guaranteed radiation procs he can have a maximum of two pillars out at once not affected by mods and tick slow enemies by 35% also not affected by mods shinka pillar is one of those Powers whose usefulness is almost entirely reliant on other powers the pillars can be overcharged by hitting them with either his second or fourth power but I'll get into those effects later on if there's one gripe I have it'd probably be that its base range is pretty damn pathetic for what it is not only does it have a line of sight check but its base range is only 8 m meaning you need a hell of a lot of range just to get it to cover even an acceptable amount of the tile that you're on even zaku's armor strip oras have higher base range and those are far more powerful than these things so I feel like a bump of range up from 8 m to 12 would be more than fair for that reason but yeah on their own the pillars don't do very much so this is some prime augment opportunities for improvements here de you know just just a little something to think about let me sit on them and spin Crush talk with rock containment wall is our second power on cast corvac summons two walls of concrete before slamming them into one another the walls deal constant radiation ticks to enemies that are touching them and as they Collide it drags enemies towards the center or at least it tries because this power has a lot of funkiness going on with it oh and it also overcharges any pillars that it touches causing the pillars to send out ticks at a faster rate so containment wall is meant to be corve X's Gathering tool and while I think that it is kind of finicky in that regard and I'll get to fix suggestions for that in a bit it it does do a good job at inflicting radiation and doing decent enough damage but in terms of gathering this thing is quite Jank and oh boy am I going to talk about it many times it fails to take elevation to account and because it's not a spherical hitbox it means that it can and will miss enemies that are flying not only that but corbex cannot spawn the walls in the air as attempting to do so will just have them crashing back down to earth luckily the walls do get longer the more range you have but that's honestly just Sil lining and lastly this power makes a cardinal sinim it is a power that Roots the player in place has a lengthy animation and leaves them vulnerable to damage that is a big no no in modern Warframe and it wouldn't surprise me if they give this power cast invincibility and a quality of life update so as a gathering tool containment wall is pretty dooky poo poo at least in my opinion so here's three changes that I'd make to it first instead of spawning the walls completely linearly in instead spawn the walls in the shape of a cone and then have the walls converge this should make the power way better at mob clearing now I don't actually have much hope of that actually occurring because de specifically mentions that it's primarily useful in corridors and hallways as if they know there's a big Chun of areas that this won't perform as well in so this very well could be their intention but if that is the case de then at least listen to these last two suggestions second have the walls extend downward and third allow corvex to cast the power in the air combined with a downward extension buff this should drastically improve the power in areas that it already is supposed to perform in even if you scrap my first suggestion I feel like this should be done just because this is a 3D game it helps to have that additional vertical coverage uh but yeah in short containment wall isn't very good at containing and is only somewhat serviceable at being walls next up we have dimetric guard which grants corvex and his team with an affinity range a number of concrete plates that protect against status effects corvis can gain more than he gets on the initial cast by either casting the power again or killing SL assisting with kills on enemies that have rad procs and surprisingly it doesn't give any other defense buff no Dr no overgard no nothing it's just a status immunity and Status cleansing power now for corx himself this isn't too bad since holy mother of God his innate armor value is ridiculous he actually dethrones vuler Prime in terms of having the most base armor in the game in fact but if this was on any other frame I would have some gripes since there's a reason why powers that typically cleanse or block status effects usually do something more than just that because status cleansing is more of a cherry on top of a Sunday rather than the Sunday itself so this strikes me as the kind of power that's going to get an augment that drastically improves on what it provides but until that moment comes this is probably his most subsumable power containment wall has problems but it does buff his pillars and debuffs enemies oh and it also does like four damage to enemies within like 2 m on cast someone at De put this in as a function Knowing damn well that it was meaningless to do so okay I know it's meant to protect him during cast but come on also uh one last thing remember how I said that corvex has a bunch of poorly explained things relating to his kit well here's an example what the [ __ ] does this mean is it 10% chance for for a status to be blocked is it 10% chance per fragment to block a status well the answer is that it is the chance for you to gain a stack on kill see I thought that you always got one on kill but I guess not why this doesn't say stack gain chance or something is beyond me but there you go and finally we come to the core of his kit literally like like it's a core in his chest Crucible blast causes corvex to drop the screwdriver thus causing the demon core in his chest to to fire out a beam enemies hit by it take multiple radiation procs and additionally for a short time after making contact with the beam IR radiated enemies hit by the beam cause Chain Reaction explosions amongst each other these blasts do not require a line of sight and become stronger the more status effects that are on the targets without a doubt this is the power that saves corex and it's for a few reasons not only can the beam put out solid damage on its own but it's also responsible for a hidden mechanic that drastically changed how I played him so like containment if you hit a pillar with the beam it causes the pillar to pulse more rapidly but what the game doesn't tell you in descriptions or tip sections or anywhere is that it causes the pulses to inflict Crucible blast Chain Reaction status onto enemies so for the entire duration of the pillar buff it will be marking enemies with chain explosions I actually went from thinking that power duration of corvex was just not worth it to thinking that it is a secondary priority once I figured this out why does the game never ever tell you this I don't know I don't even have a funny quip here I legitimately just think de forgot to mention it so I'll leave a correction here if this gets fixed before I upload this video but yeah for right now the game just doesn't tell you that it's a feature that or it's a bug which if this gets fixed I will sit outside Pablo's window each night for the foreseeable future oh and in case you were wondering no a containment wall does not give pillar pulses its damage vulnerability debuff I tried anyway these chain explosions are of critical importance to how he plays or at least how I play them they can do an extreme amount of damage in high density enemy groups and the explosions do not require line of sight when you have maxed out range and enemies are exploding 20 plus meters away from each other and from behind obstacles that's when you get silly situations like this on the other hand this power is very reliant on there being a sizable number of mobs Believe It or Not strength doesn't affect ffect the chain explosions very much enemy quantity is the much bigger Factor at play here to Showcase this here is a group of three enemies being sweeped by my 300% power strength beam here's the same group of three enemies but this time with just 100% power strength now here's a group of 20 mobs being hit by a 300% power strength beam and here's the same group again but with just 100% [Music] strength so yeah I wouldn't actually invest very much power strength for this reason because even in low density environments 300% isn't going to be doing very much so yeah as you can see by the footage building around Crucible blast is pretty damn important as is getting some power efficiency since it is unfortunately a 100 cost ultimate now I actually do have one request for a quality of life change if de does somehow see this so I feel like this power should be changed into a channel because right now it acts like a standard power meaning the beam only lasts for like 2 seconds so each time I use this damn power it feels like I'm trying to get the last bit of ketchup out of a mostly empty bottle and it just feels bad mechanically but otherwise great power no notes whenever I use it I taste blue and I don't know why corvex is a frame that I feel has a number of issues that are just kind of easy to ignore given how good his four is it's a taale as old as time in this game and it's something that de has begun to lean into with the release of mods like this which is very hilarious to me so as he stands all I'd want to see is some quality of life adjustments and some changes to some tool tips the latter of which I'm assuming is going to happen relatively soon if they haven't done it already make it more clear what this value on his third power does tell players that pillars inherit the chain explosion effect from his beam and and work koser well I got a video out when it was actually relevant this time and it didn't even hurt that much maybe I can do this more [Music] often
