oh wow okay i forgot the hat what is up everyone today's video is super exciting and you may be asking yourself why is this one more exciting than literally any other full body video that you've done and i've done a lot in fact i think we did one about three days ago so for those of you that this is getting old for i apologize but i'm here on a mission and that mission we must complete today mocap for all is finally out well it was actually out yesterday but today is the day that we finally test it out and why is mocap for all better than any of the other software we've tried and that is because mocap for all will use any webcam to translate your movement into full body tracking and you can have as many of those webcams as you like or at least from my understanding it seems to be that it is best with two webcams and that's good because i only have two so that is exactly what we are going to experiment with today i will be taking you guys exactly how to install mocap for all how to play around with it and we're gonna check how good it really is at full body tracking let's jump straight into the video okay so the great thing about mocap for all is that they actually have a discord server in case we don't know how to do something so as you can see here this is the mocap for all page where you can download the mocap for all free trial so first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna download the readme which i'm almost certainly going to need and then you have the cpu version and the gpu version depending on which of those you want to stress you are going to want to download one of those cpu version for those who do not own an nvidia gpu okay then i guess we're downloading the cpu version instead yeah so in case you don't own an nvidia gpu you will need the cpu version you can't download the gpu version if you don't have an nvidia gpu this is gonna take a little while so i'm gonna download it and be right back to you once this is done okay so now that we've got everything downloaded let's fire up the readme file and see exactly what we're supposed to do here so we've got how to calibrate cameras quick start for vr chat oh that is actually quite useful right there that is something we are going to require so download part 1 mocap for all and part two and unzip the zip file okay so now what you want to do is you want to find the zip file that you just downloaded and you want to extract it for this i'm going to use winrar right click on it and click extract here and hopefully it extracts into a folder and then you want to do the exact same thing with part two okay so what you want to do is you want to extract both part one and part two they're not going to extract if you just right click on one of them so you must extract both part one and part two separately and they're both going to go into the same folder and once you have it extracted it's just going to show up as a folder right here now i'm going to just go ahead and just double click on the file see what it does this is apparently the terms and conditions oh look there they are in english okay let's accept looks rather simple let's add a camera oh we've got a camera that was rather simple as well we are going to utilize the power of intelligence and we are going to launch iv cam yes because iv cam is going to allow me to use my phone as a camera um but i need to download so really we can have as many webcams as we like as long as we have enough phones for them which is actually quite powerful what i was going to do with this webcam is i was going to stick it to my wall using sellotape i don't recommend doing that with your phone for obvious reasons but here we go uh this should show up in iv cam perfect so now this should be a much better method of uh doing that add camera zero that's that one one is v cam five three oh okay so once you've added your cameras you want to start the calibration so clicking on start on the very first page you want to find this image this image is actually in the mocap for all folder that you extracted earlier fire it up on your monitor and start scanning it with the phone camera once it says successfully calibrated do the exact same thing with your second camera point it towards the monitor and have it scan what i forgot to mention here is to add the second camera just click the add camera button once again and then start randomly selecting ids until you find the one you want to use also in case you need to rotate your camera if your phone is in portrait mode just click the little rotate camera button in the top right corner now that second image inside the folder you need to print that out so print it out on a piece of paper this is what's going to give you direction your cameras will need to scan this on the floor in order to know where you are positioned around it now is a good time to position your cameras place them anywhere you like just make sure that they are staring at not only the floor but at you at the same time and that they're both looking at roughly the same location on the floor now take that piece of paper and position it on the floor where both cameras can see it now press the second start calibration it will find the piece of paper and calibrate to it once both are calibrated you'll notice that you can now press start capture when you press start capture a skeleton will appear and you'll notice that even though your cameras are lagging like crazy because mine were and i thought that something was wrong the character to the right is actually perfectly smooth so i'm not entirely sure what's happening there but all i know is that it works very well so you know i tried a few confusing maneuvers with my legs and arms to see how the character would take it and honestly it was all very very smooth so now it's time that we finally make it translate that data into vr so going to the right on the settings click send tracking points and then add relative position to hmd here you will require your headset's serial number it's actually not difficult at all to find if you guys are rocking an oculus quest 2 there's even a tutorial video inside the read me zip showing you exactly how to find the quest 2 serial number shown above me right now now that you have all that done you're going to need vmt there will be a link to vmt down below as well as there also being a link in the readme file that you get with mocap for all clicking on releases you are brought to this page click on vmt underscore009.zip and it will download now that it's downloaded you want to extract it to a safe place so i just created a folder called vmt and extracted it all into that folder now enter that folder open vmt underscore manager and click on vmt underscore manager it will ask you for access to your firewall so give it access to that and then once it's launched fully it will ask you to install the driver install the driver and restart steamvr as it asks you to then launch vmt manager again and you will see it now shines green saying the driver is installed you should also notice that steamvr now shows three extra trackers putting on the headset you'll notice looking underneath you that you now have hips and legs which is exactly perfect because those are the only points we require for full body tracking in case you don't see them just fire up the mocap for all software and make sure that you have clicked start capturing there was an issue here however because while the software did track me perfectly as you can see here hopping into vr chat you'll notice it didn't exactly like me very much and i think that's because of the serial number of my pi max so was this a success i mean to a certain extent and while i don't even have a chair right now because it is somewhere over there i needed to move everything out of the way in order to even have remotely the tiniest amount of space in order to do full body tracking but we are here to come to a conclusion so let's do that a little bit lower down well as usual everything that could have gone wrong went wrong and i mean that's not really surprising considering this is this channel it does work whether it works well that is entirely up to your play space and what cameras you use because it actually does work very well in the software itself it captures motion incredibly well but when thrown into vr that's a different story because it needs to translate that movement into the hmd and when i put in my hmd's serial number which is a pi max it just doesn't cut it normally if you put in your hmd's serial number it would take your movements and copy them right underneath your hmd and mine doesn't do that and i'm thinking that it's because it's a piymax in the instruction manual from mocap for all how to translate into vr chat we get a video on exactly how to translate the movement from an oculus quest 2. and while i do have an oculus quest 2 it's out of battery and to be completely honest with you i don't think i feel like going through all of that within oculus quest 2 again just to prove that it works it definitely does work i mean probably not in this play space this sheet of paper takes up like 1 8 of my play space and by the way you need to print this this is what locates you around the room and while it is actually a decent strategy my camera has sometimes had an issue finding it but again that's probably just my cameras should you try it probably i mean if you have some cameras laying around it's not like the software costs anything so all you need to do is print out this piece of paper and play around with some calibration and once you have the calibration right well you're pretty much set to go oh yeah just make sure you're using a quest to or join their discord for some help because i do not know what to do with the serial number of that pi max and frankly i need to get to editing this video or else it's not going to come out today so as a conclusion the software has great potential seriously it works very well inside the software's software itself the little person that you see walking around my movement is translated to that person perfectly but because it's just a trial right now and it's not fully out we do get the movement copied over to vrchat every 10 seconds so currently it's not even a solution because you waiting for the data for 10 seconds and then stopping again yeah that's not really gonna work out for a decent full body tracking solution of course when the software comes out and when you can buy it you will be fully able and fully capable of doing full body tracking just again mind your play space mind yourself so that you don't injure yourself and i don't know play around with it if you have some free time going i definitely think that this is the best full body tracking solution we have tried to date why because it actually seems to work again in the software you can see that movement being translated pretty much perfectly is it a little bit of a pain to calibrate i mean no not really if you have room for the cameras which i didn't that was my only pain and then just translating the movement to the hmd by finding out what's wrong with the serial number that's where i leave you guys is it satisfying i don't know if you guys have a quest to and multiple cameras this will probably satisfy you yeah i mean it'll definitely help you out you just need to wait for the full revision of the software again because currently with the 10 second limit it really it it's just not viable but this tutorial will translate onto exactly the same thing when the full software is out yeah i mean i'm pretty happy that we managed to test this out to see that it does actually work we can see that it works within the software does it work within vr i'm sure it will when the full thing is out but currently it's a little bit of a mess but i'm happy to say it does work and it is a solution and i cannot wait to see it actually be fully out and see what we can do with it but that is going to be it for today's video guys thank you all so much for joining me i hope you all have a fantastic day or night if you guys
