it's a big victory that my arm is still attached to my body Cali kaniko a former animal shelter volunteer was doing what she loved caring for a dog when all of a sudden it attacked her she nearly lost her arm when she says she tried to put the 100 pound German Shepherd mix back in his kennel this animal um very sadly ended up in the shelter he um he had he loved the family very much and he and his journey ended up really badly and so he affected my journey as well a jury recently awarded her nearly 7 million dollars after the attack at the Los Angeles animal services facility finding the city of Los Angeles liable for gross negligence her attorney says no warnings about the dog's aggressive history were provided to Kelly or written down anywhere Kelly would have been able to read the comments about the dog or she would have been able to know that this was an aggressive dog that is a volunteer she shouldn't walk there's no way that Kelly Wood had walked the dog at any of those things been done coneco hopes what happened in core will lead to changes to protect future volunteers like her this is Inside Edition digital
