mother and we're gonna go eat some breakfast hope you guys are having a great day wherever you are we are going to walk over to the breakfast place we started at the Main Street which is kokusai Dori and the breakfast place we're gonna go to is about a 10 minute walk from here this is all downhill right now my mother's doing great nothing is open around here yet because it's very early in the morning there's a vending machine with Okinawan drinks some nice shops around here as well this is the Old makishi Market in front of us a new one just opened we're gonna be uh going to that later left here and there are breakfast places right over there we're actually going to one of my favorite places in naha I come here on every single trip like I have to have this [Music] I got the whole Tama with the deep fried Goya tempura it's my favorite oh God hits the spot guys oh my God that is amazing all the different flavors and textures the slight bitterness of the Goya but it's deep fries is crispy here's some katsubishi Bonito flakes give it extra flavor and of course you have to have the spam and the egg omelette delicious looks like he likes it right yeah I see very crispy shrimp right and the sauce flavor is really good it matches with this egg and spam and spam is not so sorry deep um I like this one guys we're going to finish eating here we have a feast for breakfast that was good that was good now we're gonna walk around the whole thing guy around here the old part of this awesome pineapple banana Casa is enjoying window shopping yes we're shopping shopping love winter shopping lots of souvenirsco rice crackers or that is so lots of lots of shops along this street it's like a amazing foreign there are lots of lots of people drinking and eating looks very fun the same 1000 yen 1000 yen with drinks and three glasses of drinks and food it's only 1000 yen less than ten dollars can you believe it yes clothing lots of clothes here this is my favorite part of I think one of my favorite short thing guys the shopping streets because this is very um the very old area and it has a very nostalgic feel it's great it's very local okay so we just browsed around this market area aluminum and if you're looking for like um bentos at very cheap prices this is the place to come it's like 350 Yen for a Bento this Bento here is even cheaper it's 250 Yen shops that sells clothes some shops that are open only at night time like this one we got bars here this is another small little Deli selling like ready-made food you know Okinawan sweet potatoes this one's just getting ready to open up it's a little antique store a little grocery store very very cool area at least in my opinion I love this area I'm standing here in front of the brand new just open makishi public market yeah this has been under construction for goodness maybe three four years at least four years yeah and there was a temporary Market all this time but this brand new one this is the permanent one just opened up I believe on in April yeah which is uh this month I believe this is the moziku which is like the seaweed that's grown here in Okinawa we are trying this out it's delicious hmm [Music] oh yeah that's a really nice texture you can tell it's Super Fresh so this is good the usually we eat the Solitaire yeah this one can last longer right this one is not sorted it's fresh [Music] which is like the local I guess like vegetables kind of like like garlic delicious this is their favorite place because it's called Hirata yeah they also have the local oh my gosh so good so good my mom's gonna try the bitter melon she usually doesn't like bitter melon too much [Music] I'm trying the papaya kimchi [Music] [Music] oh yeah you're so good they're using green papaya so you know it's um it's harder it's kind of crunchy and it has a little bit of Kick the sweetness delicious lick my fingers stick my hands can you guys guess what this is right here [Music] pig ears these are pig ears but they're delicious this one is like it has flavor with um sesame oil vinegar oh I don't think my mom likes that um so guys if you come here to makishi Marketplace you have to visit Hirata and this is our favorite shop in the entire place don't tell anybody but it really is the people are super nice they let you sample everything super delicious pickles this is great guys we've been waiting for this place to open up and they finally opened it's very new and modern but still has that old Vibe and they have the second floor where you can eat you can buy your Seafood downstairs and then they'll prepare it any way you want upstairs this is a famous uh kamaboko shop called kaneko it's a fish cake store and they sell Okinawan style kamaboka here yeah foreign it's really tasty yeah this Market is so fun just walking around there's so many things to see here so many things to eat of course yeah this is like the one of them I think at least in my opinion one of the best places to visit in Okinawa so we're on the second floor this is where you can have your fish that you bought downstairs prepare and you can eat it here or of course they have a big menu you can have like Taste of food you can have like set meals Sashimi whatever yeah a great place to have lunch okay we had to come back to mozu Kimu the shop to buy the seaweed oh my God the seaweed that they sell here is on another level please remember the shop too Kimu very very delicious really really high quality seaweed we just bought some goodies some authentic Okinawan goodies from hokama Sega very near the makishi marketplace I love kompan and I love uh chinsuko and the content here is especially delicious we're walking around one of the shorting guys here in Okinawa in naha as you can see lots of shops and they've all opened up as you can see lots of shops here and most of the shops are open now alright guys so so I'm filming so we let her do that and we're now walking along coxai Street just giving a little short walk before we say goodbye to you today and I'm very happy to say that the tourists are back actually we're walking on the quiet side of koksaidori we came from that side and that's like the center part of kokkaidori a lot of people it's pretty crowded today if you didn't know already cook sideori is like the Waikiki of uh Okinawa it kind of reminds me of Waikiki but different it's completely different there's no ocean nearby it's just City but you know there are palm trees and there's lots of souvenir shops on both sides of the street and it's about a mile long there are lots of um lots of souvenir shops a lot of ice cream shops too which is great uh blue steel ice cream is probably the most popular ice cream in Okinawa yes it is and oh there's a train that just went by that is a you they do I wonder if we will have time to go on the train this time yeah my mother says she wants to go but I I I'm not sure I mean where are we gonna go with a train when we go back to the airport I don't think that really you think that's not a good idea I feel like I don't think it's good because I have big suitcase it's not a good idea it's not let's take a taxi we're almost at the end of koksaidori so as you get towards the end I think it just gets a less crowded it is quieter kind of nice actually but at the same time there are some stores that are closed because there are less people there used to be a nice um like soap shop around here that I used to frequent but they're gone I think this bicycle shop has replaced that Silk shop this is a new shop too Noodle Factory foreign ever since I first came to Okinawa like 20 years ago this is a hotel and This Is the End of koksaidori actually yeah yeah we were looking for a store but that's gone and actually this is brand new too this coffee shop yeah 27 20 Okinawa it was used to be something else yeah and there's a little Park here public restroom if you need and there's also some nice shops down this street here I think I think I guess that's like little Korea Town I think so we're walking to a shotengai a very local shopping Street but before that check out the koi nobody the carp hanging this is to celebrate boys day actually I just noticed there's some carp up on the ceiling as well a little bit more to the shorten guy this is a river I have to show you this River we actually walked along upstairs so I couldn't really show you anything very unscenic route but yeah this is a very nice place to take a walk or sit down and have a cup of coffee here yeah big fish oh yeah but they all kind of like went away they swam away as soon as we came okay do you guys see it that is the very ritual shopping Street where no tourists come what is the name of this place in general anyway but it made you pronounce differently um is has a different pronunciation yeah so here it is guys the Retro Shopping Guy yeah so these are some old-fashioned eateries like right under this roof here you can eat local food here and there are some shops here because this is after all you know it's fashioned shopping Street there's a little produce shop here you sure let's see which way should we go yeah a lot of the shops are closed now because you're only open during the day like like these areas so it'll create the base right here let's go down this way there's a little coffee shop here feels like like we've like time slipped don't you think it's like time slipping to a different time there's some shops in here this small little Alleyway here's one right here [Music] some people living up there hold on oh more coin nobody so it's a mixture of like these shops you know that that are open during the day and then there are some shops that open at night yeah the wine bar here craft beer place I think here's some more eating places okay great I love this area this is so cool all right this is pretty cool Hello Kitty Cat how are you hello [Music] yeah I found this place when I came here a long time ago when I was just walking around the city so it's like a maze yeah all right and then these are like the meat shops which is why they're closed these shops are open during the morning hours right here I'm gonna say goodbye for now because we have to start heading back to the hotel to check up on my mom but anyway hope you enjoyed this video like I said please visit makishi Market it is the biggest and one of the oldest uh public markets in naha and you have to check it out it's a great experience it's an experience you can only have here in Okinawa all right guys have a great day and see you next time bye [Music]
