[Music] hmm welcome to the stream i have it it just finished updating boy do i have some stories for you oh i got crazy stories we're gonna smash a little bit and then uh game awards there's a lot of people streaming this at the moment i think we're good it's out already in many places so um anyway welcome to the stream this is a very exciting day for me it was also one of the worst most frustrating days for me there's an overflow of emotion i i can't even begin to explain geez as is tradition every year i have a smash story this year might be the worst yet i'm gonna compose myself we're gonna relax and we're gonna play some matches are you ready are you ready [ __ ] no yes go in so i'm gonna do some matches first then i'll do world of light for a bit and then game awards in like an hour and a half smash is finally here i've been waiting for this moment for a week all right maybe a little longer [Music] oh we're getting the vocal remix right away huh no i'm not doing online matches i've been um people have requested that i stream this with like every single person on the internet no online matches sorry eventually i have a router on the way not a router uh it's thanks juiced okay nice music here we go so i haven't played this yet i had this for a couple hours and um i'll tell you the whole story when i'm doing my matches but i can't right now because i don't looking zelda in any smash brothers so far from for me yeah i want to do classic mode that'll be good training um i'm gonna go for zeld i i don't know how to play zelda too too great but i love zelda so and she looks awesome vinnie do kirby when you can oh i will eventually there he is there's the lad [Music] you're not getting back on wario there's just no way you're getting back on [Music] oh yes just hearing this theme makes me want the skyward sword announcement at the game awards you know what yeah why not let's do it make it happen nintendo available tonight and no one ever played katamari rerolled as a result i don't love it i have my problems with that game i don't really even want to replay it but maybe they'll do something to make it a little bit better maybe if they re-release it they'll fix some of the stuff it's not that bad of a game has good dungeons there's a lot of there's a lot of positives to the game um and i wouldn't mind checking it out again but i would not play this the wii version again anyway yiga clan it's not south detroit that's right why because where's san diego one of my all-time favorite stages get in there yes [Applause] okay so for anyone joining off the main page inevitably there will be um i'm not a smash expert but maybe you could see that by me playing the game i'm a variety streamer and i'm bad at video games there he is called a dark samus zero suit oh all right edge suit samus then whoa this is a zelda spin-off that i would like zelda has to save the land from a bunch of dark links link's essence has been like [ __ ] kidnapped or something by gannon who's now named crenando legally but could you like zelda with a sword though like this particular sword benny are you gonna play the new cs go battle royale mode good game if you like smash brothers you're not gonna hate it i think some people will find reasons but i am enjoying it um but i'm not a smash expert you might wanna watch like someone who if you're competitive and you wanna know if it's good for competitive play i can't really answer that i just think it's a good game and i like it a lot so far but it's more of what you know smash brothers to be so yeah am i having fun with it i am having fun the forbidden word yes i am porn [Music] corn [Music] [Applause] so i guess i can tell you what happened so why do i have the game early so my youtube network screenwave who are just nice people that i get along with you know they're not like [ __ ] greedy company they're like actual human beings and and uh i like them a lot they managed to get the game early somehow i don't know how they did it i was gonna drive to pennsylvania so i could get the game that's a two-hour drive i almost did that and then i said you know what there's a chance i might not make it back for the game awards so what they did was one of the the lads that works there drove to me and actually gave me the game that's how [ __ ] lucky i am that's how lucky i am i know however here's where i wasn't lucky i had no internet there was someone here yesterday they changed out the box and they forgot to update the settings which we didn't know i was on the phone with verizon for four hours i didn't eat until 5 pm that was the first time i ate today um i was on the phone for a long [ __ ] time and basically they i kept trying to like get them to dispatch someone and then they would hang up and like put me to a new person sorry we can't dispatch anyone oh yeah you're gonna need the dispatcher so they said that someone had to go into the box and do that stuff all i had to do was the last guy i got who was mario swear to god that's his name the savior of the stream mario the unit tells me to go into the box outside because it was a new one gives them i give them the serial number they didn't update the serial number so they they gave me a new box but they didn't update like the numbers i know it's i don't really understand how it works myself they didn't update it in their system properly so it reset so after i streamed last night i lost internet and then it stayed that way all night so instead of having someone dispatch to the house all i had to do was read a number to a dude and then they fixed it on their end and that's after having like multiple do not presumes so that was a bit of a nightmare today um yeah transferred hung up upon told very weird things uh someone one of them said i needed a new router he's like wait no um another person was like yeah we can't dispatch anyone i was like listen this is really important like i'm probably gonna get a new isp if this doesn't work oh yeah there's nothing we can do sir i want to thank a couple of my friends that offered wow i had some offers marissa mike and a couple other people said if you need to you come here and we can do the game awards or whatever but then mario my savior came through so while i was i wasn't locked out of my car in the cold i wasn't stuck in the rain in manhattan like previous years i was locked out of my internet and i had to talk to a bunch of people that had no idea what was happening for hours wow good job fox but i'm glad you know i'm lucky that it's good um and then the worst part is twitch actually emailed me a while back and wanted me to stream the game awards weirdly enough i don't know why and so i was like oh i'm not going to be able to do this this is the the one year that they wanted me to restream this thing and i can't even do that but then i did that anyway it's it's hard to like tell a full story in concise detail while i'm playing a fighting game but i did the best i could i hope you kind of understand what happened it was a mess but um i mean we're here now and mario just called me back to make sure everything was okay that is a good dude very unlike previous people that i got in touch with god bless mario and you know i even well i was nice i wasn't like a dick but i was like listen you know i'm gonna have to like get a new service i'm gonna have to like tell people that watch my stuff that verizon is hot garbage if i can't get the connection you know and they said all right well you know nothing we can do but um you know it's not like they weren't nice employees most of them were pretty nice they just didn't know what the [ __ ] was happening except for the one dude that hung up on me and then he called me back but he hung up on me just as i was making like a speech about how terrible verizon is i'm like wow that's a coincidence and for those that say vinnie you should switch to a new uh provider you gotta understand there's not a lot of options and i've heard worse things about spectrum oh [ __ ] ridley he is massive make no mistake this [ __ ] is huge wait a minute this might be ultra huge ridley yeah this is like ultra big [Music] they say ridley's too big and then you fight him and he's just they make him bigger it's amazing i wonder if vayner is still let's say op there's a weird you guys notice there's like a weird culture of anything that's like a little bit better than something else in a video game is immediately just described as broken which fair enough i get i get it but i mean i didn't want to say broken because clearly they balanced bayonetta in a way that they thought was not broken this is a cool map i love this map from smash 4. i'm glad they brought it back characters it's it's gonna be it's gonna be cool and we're back well it's official super smash brothers ultimate came out 35 minutes ago finally the game is here i can't wait to see what this game is like um but yeah ultimately the game is good and i like it and i unlocked a couple characters during the game awards so if you're wondering loyal viewers in the future on full sauce why i now have pit villager like inkling in k rool um let's just say the game awards afforded many opportunities to play the game what if one of the dlc characters is arms that's his name right john arms second time i've squandered that uh yeah joker was announced that's the first dlc character everybody joker xander mobis voices joker i've learned so xander mobis now is the announcer and a character in the game so it's time to invest in xander mobis stock kids got a future it's going places that kid as i said when the character was announced but if you missed it i'll say it again i am happy for the people who are persona fans that get a character that they really love for me it's just another character to play as which is good enough smash brothers is usually just fun even if you don't know where the characters come from that's my thoughts you know fun but um yeah not my choice but then again the world doesn't center around me so you know i'll live is there is one of these a jape oh there's a jpeg during the game awards i was playing it on xsplit in a very small window with input delay from the capture card playing it again like this i'm like yes [Applause] that's great i'm having i'm having a lot of fun with this game vinnie why do you play smash with a controller i expected better of you orange harrison i don't even know who you are but you like george harrison good enough yeah villager was one of my smash 4 mains i'm sure some of you remember uh i'm gonna suck with villager now though what are the villagers moves again [Music] oh [ __ ] yes samus enjoy the tree i love this this level is awesome too there's this iconic stairs and clock tower [ __ ] yeah people that minimize my smash streams so they can like you know listen to something while i'm playing uh where the well they're busy while they're doing something else they're just gonna hear a lot of [ __ ] very limited commentary ah what brings you to the castle i demand you cease your assault attack see i can remember the what is a man speech a little bit and then i get a little bit of the death speech and then just [ __ ] memory just dog [ __ ] memory banks mush for brain cells so yeah how about them bees what game is bees from in particular don't say mario galaxy because no different type of bee the sakura i put these in just to upset me animal crossing oh right animal crossing i should know this i'm playing as villager the card's priceless artifact breaks every time villager breaks a pot i'm gonna go for pit as many of you know pitt was like my main from brawl onwards it doesn't mean i'm good with pit but no i can't really tell what changes they made to pit so far it seems about about the same but then again i don't really remember these things this level looks nice you're going to hear that a lot as i said last time but it really is great to see some of these classic stages with a much needed makeover [Applause] there's a floating brain in the background and everything vinnie does edgelord amiibo work with new smash we're gonna find out yo that mushroom is one of the most annoying items cause it reverses your controls as we've discovered before and it just walks around and i always see this [ __ ] mushroom vinnie sure is quiet on joker i spoke a lot about joker actually i just don't have much to say about it well i didn't speak a lot i just i brought it up twice [Applause] i think some people join late and they miss things and they they wonder why i didn't say the things that's a tough thing to get used to as a streamer because you feel like a broken record and like you have to have legendary patience for stuff like that i'm trying chat like i said earlier i try not to be cynical it may not seem like it but man i put the effort in [ __ ] heart any character from anything that i don't know about is inevitably gonna be less impactful than a character i do know about oh deku nut is in the game like b2 is it on uh and soul calibur that's not something that i can really comment on because i've never played near it's 2b sorry yes it's 2b but the way i see it is it's another character even if it's not your favorite character or for example say this happens and you're really upset because that letter was meant for waluigi [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] vinnie are you still hoping for chrono to get in smash i don't think that's gonna happen uh it's not like i was ever hopeful that was like a stretch goal if you know what i mean [Music] i'd be okay with it but there's already so many characters with swords um i wouldn't expect it but man that would be cool as [ __ ] if only for a chrono trigger stage and chrono trigger music [Music] are there unlockable stages does anyone know because there's already a [ __ ] load of stages open from the beginning but i i don't know if there are more no so only unlockable characters i love that the characters unlock you start with the original eight and then you unlock and unlock and unlock and unlock and they're fast unlocks too i think it's every 10 minutes you can do an unlock i kind of wish there were more stages for this it's like a cool idea but having only one stage is kind of bumming me out vinnie i've only played like 10 of the games smash roster games that smash's roster is from most of these characters are meaningless who to main i don't know i mean that's there's so many questions that i have to ask you to figure out what you'd want to play as you want to play as an anime swordsman an anime swordsman an anime swordsman or an eel yeah yeah that [ __ ] crazy hand [ __ ] i like how pitou has a character arc in this game if there's any character that really did not need to be in smash brothers it's dark pit and i say this as a kid icarus fan when not many others are well there are a lot of kid icarus fans but just i'd say for me kid icarus was a series i grew up with it was just as good as metroid and some of the other stuff i played and uprising is a fantastic game but pitu does not need to dark pit does not need to be in this game then again i guess you could say dark samus doesn't need to be in the game but it's kind of cool that she is oh that was me i thought i was dark pit what do you know but you know again it goes down to the idea of like all this characters in the game so clearly my favorite character was left out and that's not that's not true it's just a slight reskin with a couple different moves vinnie it flipped you off oh [ __ ] i was looking at the chat vinny in that sense none of the echo fighters should be in i would say dark pit is especially echoey at least dark samus floats and looks like a different character dark pit that is such an echo fighter it could downright be just a color change like a costume change no at least ken well ken looks like a different person dark pit is exactly pit i was actually it's weird too because i ended up getting into a position that wasn't my original position my position was i was defending dark pit and then somehow you guys flipped it on me or i flipped it on myself probably i flipped it on myself and then i started not defending what the hell how'd that even happen jesus christ crash bandicoot here's your pokemon there you go so you go from fighter number one mayro on the top left to fighter number 69 incineroar on the bottom right wait did i do oh i forgot to set the computer level this is going to be the fastest fight on this [ __ ] level i mean more levels the better but [ __ ] this one [Music] okay well i just figured out incineroar's upbeat i'm surprised funky kong didn't make an appearance at the game awards this year in any in any capacity [Music] okay your fist is way too close to the screen dude i can see the textures [Music] that's i don't know what it is yet the villager had to see a doctor after injuring children i guess dr mario you should know better do you see this cold-blooded soulless killer on the screen you see this thing's face you know as much as dr mario can see things he couldn't read the kid's face couldn't see that there was nothing behind those cold dead eyes no mercy watch the flow of my movements as i people no one can figure it out and it was a back and forth i was like i'm gonna cancel my service this is unacceptable you guys are always causing some kind of issues and this is my like my job it's like please don't do this to me today's a really important day if you can get someone out to my house to just fix this i would be so grateful and i'm always respectful i'm not i don't like being rude to service people i hate being rude to people that are just like doing their job getting paid shitty amounts of money but i had to put my foot down a little bit and the dude said he would call me back and try to get someone out to my house this was like around three so i was on the phone for about an hour dude doesn't call me back so i call back i get um sent to the outsourced people they tell me different things again they can't help me i'm like well should i go into the box outside maybe that'll help no we have to get a technician to your house the odn is out or something like that whatever it's called so finally they say they can't do technicians so i call up one more time to see if maybe buying a new router might fix it and the last dude i get whose name was mario i swear to god tells me that the best way to do this would be to go into the box oh man oh that is so lame i [ __ ] up dude's name is mario he tells me you know gives me some possible problems and he goes all right why don't you go into the box i said can i he's like sometimes you can't because you need a special screwdriver to get in there i was like let me just try so i go out there with a flathead it's a flathead i open it up the lights are on he's like wait a minute this is a problem he's like this this isn't if it if the lights are on then you should be fine the odn is fine like a technician's not going to be able to fix what's already on he goes read the serial number on your um box i read it turns out the technician that was out here yesterday for an unrelated thing gave me a new box and didn't register it with verizon so they had the wrong information in their system which is why i was getting nothing again if you missed this earlier this is something i told like six hours ago and it's a confusing story it makes very little sense even now to me but i kind of understand it more now and essentially all i had to do was read the guy the serial number one of his co-workers entered the proper serial number of the proper box into the system and he got it working and i said mario you son of a [ __ ] i was like sorry i didn't mean that in degrading i meant like thank you you son thank you so much you did it i was so elite he was like no problem sir i'm just doing my job it's like i'm sorry you went through hell earlier and you had such a hassle everybody you know sometimes you don't get someone who who knows the system well but regardless this wasn't this shouldn't have been a huge problem i was elated because i was running out of patience i hadn't eaten in hours it was it was a lot of snow on the ground and also i said i was sick yeah i was sick sure my godfather ended up driving me to get it my uncle and that was really nice of him i remember i called him up and i i really never asked anyone for favors like that big so it wasn't like a regular occurrence that was something that was really rare and he he said yeah no problem and he didn't live too far away and we went to uh gamestop i guess or whatever game i don't even remember what melee what store i picked up melee at or was electronic boutique at the time i don't know babbages bab anyway whatever it was my uncle was kind enough to drive me and i got melee and it was great it was glorious i remember the goombas early on i remember them goombas i was very happy but you know it was another uncertain moment of like will i be able to play smash brothers today if you could drive the wild goose you could go through the circuit wait what do i need to do here wait you need falcon well i have a lizard link can drive a motorcycle covered in poisonous clouds of course wario and coughing have that much in common smell nice shot so that was my melee experience and i remember not playing that as much as brawl brawl was the one that me and my friends played a lot i i really enjoyed brawl uh didn't realize that it was scrub tier or whatever people call it now but it was fun at the time just the tripping mechanic was the stupidest [ __ ] thing ever so once again the story of brawl is that i went to go get it early in the city and some place in chinatown and i worked in jersey city at the time and i tried to get there and i didn't know how to navigate the city very well i tried to walk there and it was march and i remember it was cold and it was raining and i got lost and i did a loop and it was like a two-hour affair i ended up taking the bus home you know late and then by the time i got home i could only play the game for like 10 minutes before i had to go out for like a birthday party or a planned night out or something i don't remember but it was then the next day mike and a number of people came over we played it for like nine hours nine and a half hours eight and a half hours something like that that was a good day that was one of my favorite days ever because it was a revolving door of people of good people that would come and just we would play smash brothers and and just be like [ __ ] pizza eating degenerates i miss that day but the brawl escapade is it's i've told the story a bunch but the thing is i remember make thought i was i thought i was making progress at the time i didn't have a cell phone with gps on it i had a flip phone so i had to just kind of figure out where the [ __ ] i was going based on like navigational techniques of which that's not my high point and what i remembered from google maps at work and yeah that [ __ ] was not that was not happening i ended up going in a circle and finding my way back to a location that i had already been to and i was like really really this would happen to me smash 4 was uh the story i told you of how my pre-order got cancelled not canceled but changed at best buy because that was the only place that had the collector's edition available when i pre-ordered and uh best buy was a nightmare because i needed the collector's edition so i could get the adapter for the gamecube controllers they didn't have it i had to go to i canceled and went to a number of other places i got a tip from a gamestop about another place that had it that didn't have it and then i went to costco to get it they had it but costco i guess i was so nervous or so excited or so pissed off or so the anticipation was so great that i ended up locking myself out of my car and i had to like wire hanger you know i had to get like a wire hanger from one of the the guys that worked nearby costco and um it was a nightmare yeah it was it was not fun so aside from smash 64 which is a launch that i think went kind of smooth for me where i was able to just get the game and play the [ __ ] game i think every other smash game has had a tradition of some kind of [ __ ] and it continued this year man i love it i can't wait for the next one by that time i'll have lumbago what did you do with the wire hanger i broke into my car at the time it was you were able you could do that with it vinny i can't imagine you streaming at 40 years old it's only like seven years from now my friend how old is jeff keeley dude hosts a game show the giant bomb guys are in their like 40s [Music] oh [ __ ] i wasn't time my voice is i've been speaking all day wow um going from smash 64 to this this was like kind of crazy i was like wow this this game the potential for this game is amazing and then like we we played on this level like four times and then never again mock writer this was an early rumor for smash that mock writer was going to be like the wild card character i would say that a prime trilogy would be a perfect way to fill like a january february on the switch or like a march kind of like throw something in there maybe they don't have a million things i mean they can port over the entire [ __ ] wii u library which is fine for people that didn't have a wii u that's cool but i don't know i wouldn't mind some like gamecube remasters like wind waker hd if they're gonna go dig into their closet crash team racing and mortal kombat on switch i'm interested in mortal kombat 11. i like mortal kombat to some extent i'm i'm not like a huge fan but i'm enough of a fan that i think i'd be open to what they're gonna attempt next with the series they've had some missteps but they've also had some pretty decent recent entries so yeah i don't know um sure that's good crash team racing is a day one purchase for me that's a definite you know we got mario kart 8. and then we got mario kart 8 again on the switch mario kart 8 is a great game i don't want to play it anymore i played enough of it it's time for crash let the smelly bandicoot have this time in the sun how many [ __ ] people do they have make music for this they have to like just transcribe old songs it's like hey do we have sheet music for this no we don't we just have to play it by ear all right load up the synthesizer i guess and you know you can tell some of the arrangements are more in depth than others for a soundtrack with like a thousand songs on it you kind of have to be a little bit judicious about how you do these things i guess like all right maybe the electric man song doesn't get a full orchestral weird ways like there's a lot of moves here from uh rondo the specials that feel powerful relatively simple but powerful you have um this cool thing oh you have the the kick the slide kick which is a richter belmont specialty dammit with a mushroom on his head yeah the only problem yeah they suck at recovery that's that's the thing i noticed the recoveries are pretty little mac-esque a little bit better than little mac but yeah i guess it makes sense though because that's the they have to balance out how powerful some of these other things are p yeah good three times everybody knows the rules um k rule's great too uh not really used too much in cinerore but i'm not into inkling so ridley if you haven't played this game and if not what the hell ridley's cool ridley is a very swift big character with some high risk high reward moves you can do some stuff with ridley that looks that looks amazing also ridley's skin makes me uncomfortable i don't like it ridley okay ridley's skin is like an old man's skin wrapped in purple but yeah he's a fun character to play as i don't know if he's like you know the thing is i can say that a character is good and i can get like scientific evidence in 20 minutes from a smash expert about how ridley is who like scientifically unequivocally pooped kind of takes the fun out of a lot of things but uh i i think the characters cool and i'm excited to continue to learn how to use them that move right there that move is [ __ ] sick vinny that ain't falco who was that then fake low wombo oh his wombo like is in wombo combo make the music in the game a little louder vinnie it's a meme okay cool i can't even be upset because the the stupid amount of like awful in-jokes that happen on the stream would leave almost anyone utterly confused gonna be fun to watch just to see what kind of weird like okay mario did not deserve a blade runner setting blade runner did not deserve mario having a blade runner setting but it happened latest mario will be animated that's true yeah the the newest mario movie's gonna be animated which makes sense for mario i don't really think live action after i don't think they ever could go live action some really [ __ ] nasty lag i can are you sure you are ken it's terrible [Music] dragon man the perfect song for this would be uh dragon attack by queen so yeah minimal issues it's just the online's a little weird um and apparently nintendo is accepting feedback for their online programs like they just issued a statement that they're accepting feedback for um i don't know if it was smash specifically but they want feedback whether or not they'll listen is a different story but i will give nintendo credit k rool is in the game ridley's in the game so they're listening a little bit and they got rid of the [ __ ] awful youtube claims none of my nintendo [ __ ] has been claimed since they got rid of that system that is a huge [ __ ] deal really easy to [ __ ] on nintendo and i like to but that is something that i never thought i would see ever it's really nice that means that most of the music in this game is not in their automated [ __ ] system [Music] never get used to it so isabel is the cutest character ever in smash brothers in in smash brothers history ivy just sounds too much like like a person kirby pichu okay so in my humble opinion isabelle is the cutest character that was ever in smash brothers is that better so um oh oh so isabel is weird isabel is almost a clone of a villager but with some pretty significant differences like that that's a difference that's a difference you have like a [ __ ] solid snake esque mind game mine so she's not an echo fighter exactly echo fighter like okay let me give you an example of an echo fighter ryu and ken are very similar there's almost no difference between the two belmonts dark samus and regular samus you know regular samus are extremely close to each other in terms of gameplay even well dark pit and pit there's a little bit more of a difference but isabel and villager aren't exactly echo fighters like isabel's not exactly an echo fighter in my reckoning she's just similar there's similar move sets um like for example the slingshot so she shares some moves and she's got like turnips and stuff but she's similar but not it's not echo fighter by any means [Music] the pot is similar to when she runs you know you can even the sound effect is similar that's why i like isabelle because villager is one of my favorite characters so now i have a character that's comparable but different enough that i can do a whole [ __ ] load of different strategies it's great [Applause] [Music] someone said that's why echoes are cool in general well that's the problem the echo fighters that are being classified as echo fighters are extremely similar like again richter and simon are like not even minutely different from each other aside from visual as far as i'm aware apparently there's some whip differences and it's just square enix's incompetence um that seems to be a common trend as of the past i don't know however however many years and this is again i say this about one of my favorite companies of all time it makes some of my favorite games but it's weird because they have every final fantasy game coming out well almost every there's a bunch of final fantasy games coming out on the switch including like a redone version of crystal chronicles you would think they would let their stuff in the game they have this rich history and you know they're they're tied to nintendo square has got a lot of stuff it's it's weird because nintendo and square were like synonymous with each other for a while and they're game of watch and um some of the best games on the super nintendo are from square so you could dig into that history easily for smash brothers and it would be it would be amazing why isn't it happening what took them so damn long also the only character from square is one that was never even on a nintendo system oh there goes that you can't argue with a nine so i don't know it to me it seems obvious i don't know business i don't know how these things go i don't know what's going on with square i don't know who who owns the rights to all these things but i'm glad cloud's in the game i have a pipe dream theory which is one of the dlc's is going to be a square theme dlc including a [ __ ] load of new music and a free update considering the negotiations for cloud took so long maybe sakurai said okay well since we have squares okay we can wait and we can throw some stuff in dlc vinnie they have a geno spirit in adventure mode it's fair enough you know geno is kind of a joint nintendo square thing um gino was also in like you know cameo form in mario luigi so why geno and not like tara or something it's just weird so that's why i think if there is going to be more square content in this game i think you know it could happen maybe it'll happen as a dlc thing this was like the dream match growing up mega man vs samus super fighting robot god yeah capcom was really on board konami somehow i i read online that konami is just an ip [ __ ] and they'll just rent out their ip to the highest bidder that's like all they are right now that and pachinko i was like yep so how much to give another company castlevania how much to give like anyone else
