[Music] how you guys doing go ahead and stand to your feet man it's so good to be here tonight for all of us who are joining us in the building but also for those of you who are joining us today online this is our first day of seven days of prayer and fasting and what we're going to do is we're going to just go in and worship and pray tonight how many of you ready to worship and pray tonight you know it's such such an awesome time of power we're going to take this hour to just engage god and bombard heaven with our prayers believing and expecting that god is going to do some miraculous things not just in our midst but also around the globe as we pray so here's what i want to just encourage you to do if you're online and you need online prayer go to victoryatl.com or just text the word pray to 20 30 40 because tonight we're talking about healthy relationships we're talking about a time of repentance and also wouldn't you say it's a great time to refocus our attention on god are you with me on that so i want to encourage us tonight as we worship it as we pray i want you to just focus your eyes on jesus don't think about the people that are beside you don't think about the things that's happening around the world but think about what god is wanting to do in your life today and what he's wanting to do in this church but what he's wanting to do in the globe so everybody just lift your hands one time with me father we thank you for this atmosphere we thank you for being in this place lord we thank you that your presence abide holy spirit have your way in our hearts today we're going to worship and we're going to pray with reckless abandon and we just give you all the glory all the praise in jesus name we pray someone say amen come on y'all let's worship [Music] tonight jesus hallelujah good evening everybody just take a seat for just a moment and all of you that are watching us online we just want to welcome you into our seven days of fasting and prayer starting tonight this is the first night and i don't know about you but i'm excited about this week amen this is going to be an awesome awesome week you know i was uh i was preaching up at one of our sister churches this weekend and so i wasn't able to be here but i watched the service online later emancipating greatness and i don't know if you you were here but i mean that was just an awesome word and i was thinking while i was watching this i mean you know as a as a papa of the house i was so proud of my son johnson and the word that he brought to this congregation and i was so excited i said this is the first time in 30 years that i didn't have to have the word for the year and and and god gave him an amazing start amazing word for this beginning of this year emancipating greatness and as i was watching it it just was stirring some stuff up inside of me and uh i was i was you know just kind of harmonizing with everything that he was saying and the lord had reminded me that even beginning towards the end of this last year the word that he kind of gave me at the end of last year was the word called salt and light and i started kind of digging down into the message the sermon on the mount where jesus goes through all these beatitudes and then he tells us the church he said you you are the salt of the earth and then he says you're the light of the world and he says you're the you're the ones that are going to have to reflect the color and the flavor of god in a lost and dying world it's as if the salt loses its saltiness it's not worth anything but to be just trampled on and buried underground and i kept thinking to myself just going through this last year of covet racial tension and all the different politics that were going on how so many christians just got so caught up in fear in politics in division christians got caught up in so many things thinking that somehow a political figure was going to be our messiah in this election how many of you know there is no but one room for but one messiah and his name is jesus come on it's not joe biden it's not donald trump it's not anybody in politics thank you jesus and as we kind of wound down through this last few weeks and things just continue to progressively get worse in our nation and seeing christians acting like they do out in public trying to proclaim what they think is the word of god in these last days not really understanding what god's doing how many of you know god's ways are higher than our ways his thoughts are greater than our thoughts and as i as we started to come into this new year i felt like the lord say to me he said this is going to be this could be the greatest year the church has ever experienced in a long long time he said a lot of christians don't understand that when bad times are coming when bad times are around it's a good time for the church and we're always praying bad times go away but we do better with god when bad times are in the in the earth when good times are happening we tend to forget god and drift away from god and my biggest concern during this last year of separation because of covet and people not coming to church and just growing a little bit farther and farther away from community and not having the people around them was that the church would become a lukewarm church that it would start to move away from the fire the fuego of the holy spirit and start to die out and not be the salt and the light that we were created to be in this in this incredible moment that's happening around us right here in the earth and when johnson preached the message emancipating greatness i kept thinking god's about to release something in the church right now he's about to release something in the next few weeks in this church listen to me those of you that are watching online god wants to release something inside of you that has never been released before in the midst of all this but in order to get there in order to receive the fullness of the power of the holy spirit in our lives we have to become broken vessels we cannot be prideful people going into this new year and so the lord's quickened this as a scripture to me that we're going to pray out here and start this uh seven days of fasting and prayer and we normally start off with something to do with repentance and so i'm reading through the psalms and i come upon this passage this is the most famous passage in the bible of repentance where david the only person in the bible that god says is a man after god's own heart where david is now finding himself in a place of brokenness after grave sin in his life he had committed adultery and then he committed murder and he tried to cover it up and the prophet nathan revealed it to him and he came clean before nathan he came clean and then he goes before the lord and he makes a statement so i'm going to read this verse this is psalm [Music] 51. have mercy on me o god because of your unfailing love because of your great compassion blot out the stain of my sins me clean from my guilt purify me from my sin for i recognize my rebellion it haunts me day and night against you and you alone have i sinned i have done what is evil in your sight and you will be proved right in what you say and your judgment against me is just for i was born a sinner yes from the moment my mother conceived me but you desire honesty from the womb teaching me wisdom even there [Music] purify me from my sins and i will be clean wash me and i will be whiter than snow oh give me back my joy again for you have broken me now let me rejoice don't keep looking at my sins remove the stain of my guilt create in me a clean heart renew a loyal spirit within me do not banish me from your presence and don't take your holy spirit from me restore to me the joy of your salvation and make me willing to obey you then i will teach your ways to rebels and they will return to you forgive me for shedding blood o god who saves that i will joyfully sing of your forgiveness unseal my lips o lord that my mouth may praise you you do not desire a sacrifice or i would offer one you do not want a burnt offering the sacrifice that you desire is a broken spirit in other words another translation says broken and contrite spirit you will not reject a broken and repentant heart o god periodically in your christian walk you have to go back to this scripture and remind yourself that walking with christ you're you're not a perfect person you're going to fail from time to time you're going to have things in your life that you're ashamed of things that become sin in your life and if you're not careful they can become strongholds in your life and they can control you to the place where you can't function fully with god because you're constantly feeling bad feeling a stain of sin and shame and guilt the beauty of jesus is that when he went to the cross and died on that cross he bore every sin upon his body and then he shed his blood so that your sins would be forgiven for the rest of eternity says as far as the east is from the west your sins will be cast into a sea of forgetfulness where he remembers them no more god is not up in heaven meditating on your sins and he doesn't want you to live in this earth bound by sin or meditating on the shame and the guilt of what you've done wrong in your life but the only way the only way to get that right is you have to repent and repentance is not just words repentance is action repentance has fruits it has evidence that you are turning from wickedness and turning from sin and turning your heart to jesus and saying god tonight on this first night of the fast i want to have a broken and contrite spirit i want to be forgiven of my sins i want you not only to forgive me but i want you to heal me i want you to cleanse me and keep me in a place during this fast of brokenness so that whatever is in my life that has held me back or bound me or caused me to be disobedient to you or cause me to be bound to something that's not pleasing to you i don't want to go any further into this year listen to me carefully with sin controlling my life how many of you here today you'd say that's me i i don't want to have anything controlling my life guess what those of you that are watching you can do this in your home you can do this in this building a broken spirit starts in a place of humility so sometimes you have to do physical things and if you're physically able to i want you to get out of your chairs even at home and get down lowly like this on your knees [Music] a posture of saying god i'm coming down i'm coming down i don't want to live in pride anymore jesus i don't want to be an arrogant sinner anymore i don't want to have any stronghold in my life god and so as we start this time of fasting and prayer god i'm praying that you would begin to give us a broken and contrite spirit a heart that longs to do right and no longer longs to do wrong a heart that no longer wants to be bound by sin or bound by any stronghold of sin or addiction in our lives there are people in our church that have been addicted to different things they've been addicted to things that have controlled them all of us have had some addiction in our past some of us have been addicted to pornography others food others bad habits whatever they may be jesus we just want to come now and put it at your feet and repent repent i lay it before you jesus every sin that has beset us we lay it before you right now in jesus name and we ask you to cleanse us only you holy spirit can heal us only you can deliver us and empower us over any stronghold of sin that has bound us in the past tonight jesus as we move into this time of fasting and prayer over the next few days and even weeks ahead i thank you that every stronghold is being broken off of our hearts and our minds and our lives in jesus name i command every demonic stronghold to be broken off of this church in the name of jesus i command every stronghold of sin that has held our people captive and has bound them up and kept them as slaves to be broken and jesus you are the jesus that sets us free you're the god who liberates us from slavery sin is slavery and we renounce it right now in the name of jesus just renounce it right now in the name of jesus i will no longer participate with the enemy's plan for my life i will no longer go into another day another year with sin controlling my life in the name of jesus we break every bad habit every stronghold in our mind everything that tries to keep us from moving forward into christ and discovering the beauty of who god created us to be you are emancipating us from sin you are breaking sin off of us in jesus name you're breaking the control of it in jesus name and i thank you lord that this year is a year of brokenness of humility of opening our hearts to you and creating us a clean heart and a right spirit let's just invite the holy spirit now to come in and clean our heart right now to just purify our heart of any evil thing that has bounded in the past to break every demonic force that's tried to control our heart or taint our heart or darken our hearts in any way anything that's tried to blind us to truth in the name of jesus we break its power right now in jesus name and we thank you holy spirit for coming and with the holy fire of heaven burning out all the chaff that's inside of our hearts right now any disobedience anything in our hearts that has disobeyed you or gone away from you or not yielded completely to you our hearts belong to god they do not belong to sin our hearts belong to the goodness of god that continually leads us into places of repentance we receive the ability to repent and clean our hearts right now jesus we thank you holy spirit for coming over our church and breaking our people free not just us in the room but everyone online everyone that's not even participating god you are coming and visiting them in their house you are coming and visiting in their home and beginning to break them free with a spirit of conviction right now in jesus name every backslidden man every backslidden woman every backslidden teenager we pray for them right now in the name of jesus come back out of the darkness into the light come back out of the strongholds of your flesh be broken over your people in jesus name be broken over the people of god these are the people of god these are the people of god and you've created us to walk in the fullness of who you want us to be and lord we thank you that no person here nobody watching us nobody listening to this nobody praying nobody is beyond your reach no one is beyond your powerful deliverance nothing is impossible to god you are a god of the impossible you can change people's lives you can change the direction of their heart and we praise you for that right now let's all stand to our feet now and just begin to receive the forgiveness of almighty god just receive the beauty for ashes the oil of joy for mourning the the power that delivers us from the spirit of heaviness lord we thank you right now that your anointing breaks every yoke and removes every burden off of our lives in the mighty name of jesus christ come on let's give him praise tonight let's give him all the praise right now in jesus name [Music] you're worthy god you are holy [Music] i love you lord all your mercy never fails me on my day i've been held in your head the moment that i wake [Music] of the goodness of god [Music] you know my life you have been so good [Music] of god [Music] [Music] you [Music] i've known you [Music] [Applause] yes you [Music] with every breath that i am [Music] [Applause] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] is [Applause] [Music] so my life you have been faithful [Music] i will see of the goodness [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Music] [Applause] i will [Applause] [Music] [Applause] i will say [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] yes lord he's been faithful and he's been good hasn't he we can attest to that he has been good and we need to remind ourselves to say that more often you know this last even almost a whole year our eyes have taken in a lot our ears have taken in a lot haven't they seen a lot of heard a lot of disturbing things and it's very easy to just feel like we've been pulled here and there and just we kind of lose our center and it's it's easy in the midst of all this to lose your focus but uh as my friend lisa says your focus is your super power i like that and if you think about it really building a relationship with the lord it's it's not complicated it just requires a lot love me with all your heart your mind your soul right but i think we complicate this relationship with the lord and i want to make it simple like how do we stay grounded how do we say stay centered i want to read a passage to you you're familiar with it but i'm reading it out of the passion translation i love what it says in luke 8 18 he says so pay careful attention to your hearts as you hear my teaching for to those who have open hearts even more revelation will be given to them until it overflows i love that so it's really not just just what i need but it's now it's like my husband said being salt and light and for those who do not listen with open hearts what little light they imagine they have will be taken away now god's not the one taking the light away just be clear on that but i love what the scripture tells us because there's one thing that's really required of us and that is that we listen to him with open hearts that every time we open up the word we come to it with an open heart with an expectation with a readiness that it never becomes boring to us because we know it can because we like new things we like change right so it's not that the word of god is boring it's that we can lose our focus and so i want to pray for that because this is what he says previous to it because you've probably seen this passage but the way he explains it here this is the two verses previous he says no one lights a lamp and then hides it covering it over or putting it where it's light won't be seen no the lamp is placed on a lampstand so others are able to benefit from its brightness can i just ask you a question how does that make you feel right now to think that someone else can benefit from your brightness what does that do to you does does that line up with that i want other people to benefit from my brightness that's what i want we should want that the question is do we believe it can happen because this revelation lamp now shines within you you already have it it's the holy spirit and nothing will be hidden from you you see we just prayed we just repented there was a there's a clearing of our relationship when we repent which is why it's a gift and he says nothing will be hidden from you it will all be revealed so here's the thing i think we need to do i think we need to consecrate ourselves to say lord i want to live and walk with an open heart towards you towards your word that i would fall in love with your work does that sound like a good prayer all right let's do this heavenly father oh my goodness lord what a year you have planned for us what do your you have planned who cares it doesn't matter what the enemy wants what you want is happening in us let your kingdom come on earth on our earth in our lives in our city in our neighborhood in our homes your kingdom which is glorious and powerful and because we believe that because we believe that you have created us for greatness the greatest thing we can ever do is to reflect you to reflect your image to be the light bears in the earth and so lord we thank you because that revelation lamp that holy spirit is already within us to show us and so here's what we say here's what we consecrate ourselves and say this with me lord jesus i consecrate myself to listen intently to your teaching to listen with ears to hear to have expectation for revelation to be open for transformation and i thank you lord that i will have a greater love for your word how i love your word lord come on say it again how i love your word lord how i love your word lord your word is life to me your words are spirit and they are life to me so lord i thank you that there is a transformation happening in us that other people will benefit from the light that what is within us [Music] that the light will go brighter that our understanding will grow deeper that our focus will be tight and strong and we will be centered that we will not be tossed about by every wind of doctrine or any ideology that blows our way because we have found the one and it's you and we give you the praise and the glory in jesus name amen amen jesus we love you you're so good [Music] in ways we can't even imagine you're [Music] good you give life you are love you bring light to the darkness you give hope you restore every heart that is broken everybody say great are you lord [Music] yeah great [Music] you bring light to [Music] everybody [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you know [Music] god you're great and greatly to be praised [Music] [Music] earth will shine your praise our hearts will cry these bones will stay safe raise it up in this place our hearts will cry these bones will sing [Applause] our hearts will cry these bums [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] is [Music] [Applause] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] we lift your name on high oh great are you lord yeah yeah yeah your great god it's your breath in our lungs we pour out our praise to you only say it's your breath in our lungs we pour out our praise to you it's your breath in our love [Music] say it's your breathe you know i love that i love that that we can say and understand that it's his breath and our lungs like we didn't give we didn't breathe this breath in our life it was god who breathed the life the breath of life in us and we give that back to him and i here's here's what i'm thinking about right now i'm thinking about that word praise just thinking about that because oftentimes when we're in a season like we're in right now there's so many different battles that we face you know we face the battle of covid we face the battle of politics the battle of racial tension in the lord the lord laid um second chronicles chapter 20 on my heart this morning because he was just really dealing with me because as believers often times we get surrounded by battles on every front have have you ever been surrounded by battles on every front and you did not you didn't know how you were going to get through and so i want to focus our attention on this scripture because familiar story in the scripture where uh king jehoshaphat was facing battles on every front kings uh three different kings and had armies that was coming against him and i want to read this to you in second chronicles verse 20 it says after this the armies of the moabites the ammonites and some of the meunites declared war on jehoshaphat messengers came and told jehoshaphat a vast army from edom is marching against you from beyond the dead sea there they are already at hazon tamar jehoshaphat was terrified by this news and begged the lord for guidance he also ordered everyone in judah to begin fasting kind of like what we're doing right now no greater way to face a battle than to begin fasting amen so he ordered everyone to begin fasting so people from all the towns of judah came to jerusalem to seek the lord's help i want to read on down to verse 13. it says as all the men of judah stood before the lord with their little ones wives and children the spirit of the lord came upon one of the men standing there his name was johazio son of zechariah son of benoniah son of geo son of matanja a levite who was a descendant of asap and listen what he said he said listen all you people of judah and jerusalem listen king jehoshaphat this is what the lord says do not be afraid don't be discouraged by this mighty army for the battle is not yours but god's tomorrow march out against them and you will find them coming up through the ascent of zis at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of jerusalem but you will not even need to fight take your positions everyone say take your positions then stand still and watch the lord's victory he is with you o people of judah and jerusalem do not be afraid or discouraged go out against them tomorrow for the lord is with you now here's what he's saying i'm saying to you the greatest position that you could take right now in this moment is a position of worship and praise a position that gives you the authority because when you begin to worship and praise like we're doing this week what you do is say i am seated in heavenly places in christ jesus so the battle of covet on one side and the battle of political division on another side and the battle battle of racial division on another side what you need to do is not get caught up in how big these armies are what you need to get caught up in is how big our god is and lift your arms in worship and lift your head in praise because god didn't god did not tell us that our weapons are carnal he said our weapons are not carnal they are mighty through god through the pulling down of strongholds so here's what we don't need we don't need a gun or a knife what we need is a praise what we need is a worship as a people who understand that we understand that our king our god has the victory and so i want you to refocus your attention and as you're going through this week i want you to listen to me as you're going through this week when the news comes into your ear when you hear hear some bad news it's just a battle [Music] more negative things in the press it's just a battle here's what i want you to do as we're fasting and praying when you hear that bad news i want you to just lift your hands and begin to worship refocus your attention on the king of all kings and the lord of all lords so father right now in the name of jesus we thank you we thank you that we have the victory in jesus christ we thank you that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal that our weapons are not carnal but we have mighty weapons weapons in the spirit we have angels that take car that take god around us we have mighty weapons in your word the sword of the spirit and we thank you lord that as we praise and as we worship you as we say hallelujah as we say glory to the name of jesus as we magnify your name even in this moment we thank you that the armies that come against the people of god are destroyed and defeated because you are the king of kings you are the lord of lords you are the king of kings and the lord of lords so we will focus our attention on you jesus and here's what it said it said when jehoshaphat went out all of the people began to worship and the worship confounded the enemy to the point that the armies began to fight amongst themselves and by the time jehoshaphat walked out all he had to do was claim the spoils amen so let's fix our heart refocus our heart so that we are engaged in worship this week as we worship god and as we pray and and we engage him we believe that the battle is not ours but it is the lord's amen amen amen let's keep this atmosphere charged how many of you are ready for god to do some amazing things to continue to do some amazing things you know even after we hear a word like that sometimes we still find ourselves stuck we get stuck in the same cycles we get stuck in the same routines and no matter how many times we try to come out of it no matter how many times we try to remind ourselves of words like this sometimes it's hard for us to come out of it but the lord wants us to reset our thinking he wants us to reset the way we look at things he wants us to reset and refocus our hearts on some things sometimes i'm reminded of working on a computer and i've put all of my energy into working in this app or writing something in word and sometimes it gets to a place where it just gets stuck and how many of you have tried to do everything you can to make that thing work because you've put a lot of time and you've invested a lot of energy into this thing and you can't get it to work no matter what you do you can't get it to work it's locked up and this is the problem it doesn't just lock up what you're currently working on it locks up the entire computer but even a computer gives you a way of escape if you're a mac user there's something called command option escape and no matter what you're in if you click on that it'll bring you up to this screen now i want you guys to think about your life in this i want you to think about your life listen to how god speaks through anything it's not just on sunday mornings it's not just in the scripture god can speak in anything this thing says if an app doesn't respond for a while select his name and click force quit i feel like there's some apps in our life that have not been working so my question to you is what app in your life has gotten you stuck maybe it's a relationship that one that one that you said don't have you stuck that one that one maybe it's a train of thought maybe it's how you perceive things maybe it's the way you think it's gotten you stuck but god is saying look can you put that back i need you to put that back over me because every anytime you're if you're a mac user anytime you see this thing i want you to think about your life if it doesn't respond for a while select the name and click force quit see sometimes some things in our life i want you to keep that up there some things in our life we kind of just play around with a little bit but there are some things that the lord is calling us to forcefully quit to forcefully quit take those things out of your life because they don't just have you stuck in that situation they've got your entire life locked up [Applause] they've got all kind of blessings that the lord is trying to get to each of you it's got it all locked up and the lord has said i want you to force quit some things so i wanted you to think think about where it says mail preview safari finder i want you to add your app to that list whatever it is add family friends sin [Music] whatever it is that's causing you to be stuck in your life and keep you away from god i want you to put it right there in your mind and i want you to hear the holy spirit saying i want you to force quit that thing and look even if you forget how you got here it reminds us in this window you can open up this window by pressing command option escape now remember i had to know that in order to get there the first time but it wants to remind you because you will be faced with these things again and anytime you need to find yourself back here i want you to remember command option escape this is what's beautiful about the lord because this is not just this is not just for mac users all right so if you're a pc user you're included as well control alt delete it works the same way if you're a typewriter person white out it works the same way if you're anything beyond typewriter i'm just going to assume that you walk with god just ask him to fix it just ask him to fix it but command option escape i want you i want to read some scriptures for you that reflect that very thing command option escape what is it that i need to do in my life to get me to a place where i can click force quit on these apps that have a stuck in our life command option escape i want to read some things for you i want to read a scripture for you let's talk about command mark chapter 12 verse 31 30-31 it says and you shall love the lord your god with all your heart with all your soul with all your mind and with all your strength this is the first command means and the second like it is is this you shall love our neighbor as yourself there is no other command meant greater than these our love for god or our lack of love for god could be a reason why we're stuck in the places that we're stuck in but that's not the only thing he wants you to grab a hold of he also wants you to grab ahold of this option command option escape this is the option josh joshua 24 15. it says but if serving the lord seems undesirable to you then choose i love how god is a god of grace and he doesn't force us to do anything even though you've got the option to force quit he's not going to force you to do anything you've got to take a hold of this for yourself you've got to make a decision for yourself i know a lot of people say i got to encourage myself but you also got to tell yourself you got to make some hard decisions but if serving the lord seems undesirable to you then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve whether the gods of your ancestors serve beyond the euphrates or the gods of the amorites and whose land you are living but as for me and my household i don't know about you but i grew up in a house where my mama always said this you can act a fool all you want but for me and my household we will serve the lord so this is what we got to tell ourselves sometime look i know i've invested a lot in this relationship i know it feels good but it's not god as for me and my household we are the temple of the holy spirit right as for me and my household we will serve the lord and the last thing which is so beautiful escape and these only work when you put all three of them together first corinthians 10 13 says we will all and this is the the the the passion translation we all experience times of testing which is normal for every human being but god will be faithful to you he will screen and filter the severity nature and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it somebody say i can bear it and each test is an opportunity to trust him more for along with every trial god has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously come on somebody so the lord has given us a way of escape he has given us a way to live victoriously and i want to pray this prayer over you i want you to think about those things that have you stuck i want you to think about those things that have you locked up to have the blessings of the lord locked up in your life and i want you to make a decision i want you to make a decision choose choose that thing or choose god choose that thing or choose god but as for me and my house i choose to serve the lord i want to pray over you lord i thank you so much for providing for us a way of escape i thank you so much lord god that you have given us your word that you have given us a commandment to love you and to love others i thank you lord god that is because of that love if i can walk in the love of god it will cause me to be triumphant in a whole bunch of situations that i'm faced with i thank you lord god that you are gracious enough to not force us to do
