[Music] what is up you guys so this is gonna be a new tutorial in Premiere Pro on how to do a VHS look on to your videos so let's get started with the video okay so I have my clip right here it's just of this castle in Napa Valley which is really pretty so the first thing I'm gonna do is make a new adjustment layer and then drive it on to the top of my clip then I'm gonna go to effects and search up wave work and I want to put that on my adjustment layer now we're gonna change some of these settings so let's change sign to square and then we're gonna change the direction to zero and the wave width we're just gonna drag it all the way up so you want to kind of keep it like above 500 I guess so I'm just keeping it at 688 and then we're gonna change the pinning to all edges so that gets rid of those black outlines and then let's change the wave speed to point 1 so if we watch it back there's like a line going through our clip which is giving it like a glitchy kind of look now let's go to effects and search up noise so let's add that to our adjustment layer now and you can choose the amount of noise you want in this clip I'm just gonna keep it out like 40 around 40% so now you see like the grainy effect on it okay so here are some extra things you can do to make it more VHS looking so I'm gonna drag my adjustment layer up to the fourth line so I have two empty spaces in between I'm gonna search up RGB and put the color balance RGB on to my clip and then I'm gonna press all on my clip and then I'm gonna drag that clip up so it makes a duplicate layer and then I'm gonna do that one more time so I'm gonna press all and then drag the clip up so I have three layers of the same clip now we have the color balance effect on all three clips so with our top clip we're gonna keep red at 100 and then we're gonna change green to zero and blue to zero now let's go to our second layer and we're gonna press that reverse tool so that everything goes back to normal and then we're gonna change the red to zero and the blue to zero now we're gonna go to our Slayer and we're gonna refresh that again so it goes back to the normal settings and we're gonna change red to zero green-20 and keep blue out a hundred now let's go to our first layer again and we're gonna change the blending mode to screen and for our second layer we're also gonna change the blending mode to screen and now to make the effect to appear we're gonna go to our very third clip and we're gonna change the scale to 102 so now you can see some of the red and blue ish like RGB look on it and you can change the scale more up if you want that blue and red to be more shown but I kind of like it with like a little hint of the red and blue okay now for this next step I downloaded this from the internet so I'm gonna leave a link to where you can download this Vimeo video overlay that you can use for a better VHS look so I'm gonna leave that link in the description where you can download this video so it's basically just a VHS overlay so I'm just gonna drive up to the top of the adjustment layer and I'm gonna scale that up so it fits the entire clip which is like 151 and then I'm gonna change the opacity to 42 okay now you can see the text play is showing and basically this overlay has like a bunch of different glitches to it so I'm gonna just skip to the part where you could actually see the glitches so I'm just gonna cut it and move it up cuz I know that the glitching starts a little bit later in the clip like right here yeah I'm gonna adjust it so you could so I could show you the glitch on top of the layer okay so it has the play button and then now it's adding some scratches and glitching on to it so basically that just makes it look more VHS and this is actually from an actual VHS like camera so yeah basically you can keep this overlay on top of all your clips and it'll have this like glitch effect for I think it's like a minute and a couple seconds I think okay now if you want those like black edges so it doesn't look like an actual HD clip we're gonna create a new black video so let's create a new black video and press okay we're gonna put that on top of the VHS overlay and then we're gonna change the position to 2650 and then I'm gonna use the calculator to calculate how much the other side needs to be real quick okay so let's make another black video and we're gonna drag that on top of our other black video and let's change the position for this one to negative 730 so this is so I use the calculator to exactly measure the same distance from the edges so you're welcome for that um but for this one I think it's a little too much so I'm just gonna adjust it to negative 800 instead and then I'm gonna add 70 to the other side see this is doing some math math is good for you guys so I'm gonna add that to my other black solid so that other black solid will be 2720 instead so yeah that's the whole tutorial I hope you guys enjoyed it please give it a thumbs up if you did subscribe for more videos and I'll see you in my next video peace
