Hey everyone, so i've had people ask me what it's  like to live in las vegas; I've even had people   ask me things like... "How can you sleep with all the  bright lights?" But the truth is, you can live in Las   Vegas, and not be near the strip. And you can forget that  you're in a tourist city, with all these grand hotels.   In fact, I haven't been near the strip in a  while. You can live in Las Vegas and it can   feel like living in just about any other city. But the good thing about Las Vegas is that if   you want a change of pace... and if you want a change of scenery... you can do it. And this is one of those   days that I felt like dressing up and surrounding  myself with the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas. After a period of mediocre restaurants  and take out food, I wanted to go to a nice   steakhouse. And what better place than the Las  Vegas Strip. We're at the Venetian Hotel today.  A beautiful hotel with great design, artistic  scenery, glitz, and glamour... modeled after Italy.   There are gelato (Italian Ice Cream) shops everywhere in  this place... i never really noticed that before.   It's a nice feeling to be surrounded by bright  lights, glitzy stuff, and and fancy architecture.   It's just a good feeling for me. This kind of an  outing can create the feeling of a "vacation" ... like I'm actually someplace far away. Especially when all  the hotel staff treats me like a tourist. It's one   of the things that I love about Las Vegas... the fact that  I can change my surroundings by driving 15 minutes...   without having to travel a great  distance I can just indulge myself   and splurge... and pretend I'm someplace far away.   I think the Venetian Hotel is perfect for  creating this effect for me. I can feel like I'm   in Italy or someplace far away; or I'm a tourist  from some other place, visiting Las Vegas. The Venetian Hotel is themed  after the city of Venice (in Italy).   It offers all kinds of beautiful scenery,  for those of you who like to take pictures. So there was still some time left before  our dinner reservation, so we decided to   stop for a few cocktails... and to take in the  sights and sceneries here at the "Venetian."   There are a number of shops and informal  restaurants that give you street-side   seating... in case they have some kind of  live performances... like this one here. So dinner time rolled around and we  made our way to Smith & Wollensky.   Smith & Wollensky is an American high-end steakhouse...  It is located in about seven U.S. cities, also in London...   and most recently in Taipei. The Las Vegas  location here at the Venetian has two levels.   They have a big bar on the first  level with numerous TV screens.   The bigger dining area is actually located  on the second level where they have another   bar. This is the type of place where I know  that I'm gonna get a quality meal. They don't   mess around with steak here. Smith & Wollensky is very  reputable and known for producing high-end great   quality steaks... and after that disappointing  takeout prime rib dinner from the Longhorn Casino   in my previous video, i decided i wanted to come to  a place where i'm guaranteed to have a great steak.   The presentation was exquisite, but not extremely fancy.  I find food to be extremely appealing and   attractive and when the presentation is done very  nice. It's even more appealing... and downright sexy.   We started off with an appetizer... we shared  a jumbo shrimp cocktail which came with two sauces...   Traditional cocktail sauce and  a lighter green avocado-colored sauce.   The bread was complimentary (the dinner  rolls)... everything else was A-La-Carte. So   if you want a salad, that's a separate fee. If  you want an appetizer, that's a separate fee. If   you want a baked potato, that's a separate fee.  All the side dishes and the entrees are a separate fee. The other sauce for the shrimp cocktail ... I  didn't know what it was... I didn't bother asking the server about it. Frankly, I didn't really care... it tasted good. I'm  not sure what it tasted like.. it was kind of... um...   like an avocado.. if I think about it.  Then the salad came. this is your   house salad... they call it the Wollensky Salad.  ... A little cabernet to go with our steaks   The salad was crisp and refreshing, it came with  sautéed mushrooms, tomatoes, and real bacon   bits. I didn't want to get too full because  I was here for the main event... the steaks. The steaks were cooked to perfection. They were  pretty decent in size. They look a little smaller   on the video. the 10 ounce filet mignon was  actually coated with a coffee and chocolate   rub. It wasn't overpowering, and it gave a nice  complimentary taste to the filet mignon.   The twice-baked potato was creamy and  nicely mixed with butter and sour cream. The 28 ounce bone-in rib-eye steak was just  perfect. You didn't need to do anything with it. Maybe add just a little salt... and that's all it  needed... perfect. The bone-in steaks here   are dry-aged. And if it's dry-aged properly, a  steak will have more flavor and be more tender.   It will have a more rich, beefier taste. Many people say that  a dry-aged steak really has no comparison at all.   To be honest, I'm not an expert on dry-aged steaks. All I know is that this steak was flavorful and  it was tender... and it was a really good steak. Smith & Wollensky did not disappoint. It delivered  exactly what I was hoping for... quality steaks.  It was a beautiful dining atmosphere.  This is a place that I know is available for me... if I want it. All in all, this Venetian Hotel experience was  perfect The artwork and the design, the limos   outside, the glitz and glamour. This was what I wanted. This is why I love living in Las Vegas.   There are plenty of local hotels that cater to  my needs... (for dining and entertainment). But   if i want to go to the strip and experience some  of the biggest and grandest hotels in the world,   I have that as an option. I love Las Vegas  for that. And when I have an urge to travel,   sometimes I'll just look in my own backyard... my own  neighborhood... and I can decide to have a "stay-cation"... (Stay and have a Vacation). Las  Vegas is the perfect city for that. So that about does it for this video. Everybody  stay safe.. and see you next time!
