hey guys welcome to another video well we're back out at the range today doing some social distancing in this world of the coronavirus we got three different barrel lengths ar-15s and 223 or 556 we have a seven and a half inch ten and a half inch and a sixteen inch so we're gonna be running over the chronograph today to see the velocity differences of these guns we bought all these firearms off of Palmetto State Armory we got a couple of them off of their daily deals that they post on their website we'll probably put a link in the description below for Palmetto State and you can go check these out we've also got a couple of these uh red dots that we like so much we have the nick stars that are like 20 bucks and the field sport that's like 20 bucks we like these cheap Chinese red dots we get them on eBay and Amazon will probably put a link in the description below also and today we'll just be shooting some 55 grain Full Metal Jacket gotta run it over the chronograph and we're gonna see what velocity differences we get in these different barrel lengths you know we get a lot of questions from people about velocity difference in barrel lengths so I thought we'd do all three here today and see I have the 16-inch full-sized ar-15 from Palmetto State Armory I got five shots I'm going to send downrange let's do it [Music] 32 17 32 5 32 31 31 71 all right next up we have the ten and a half inch they are from Palmetto State Armory like we said earlier link in the description box go get yourself one of these we got five more rounds we're going to send downrange with it [Applause] 387 okay I got here what seven and a half inch we call this the lady dragon this is my wife's gun we got this off Palmetto State also gonna send some more two to three downrange here see what we get 24:43 2465 2497 2380 24 1924 74 man that thing is loud I'm standing here filming and it is killing me he's hearing getting this wave from that thing it's got a little barrel but man it barks okay well we figured out all the averages here with a 16 inch barrel we had an average of 3207 feet per second with the ten and a half inch barrel we had an average of 2,800 feet per second and with the seven and a half inch barrel we had an average of 20 446 feet per side almost 400 feet per second per barrel length drop and between the 16 and the ten and a half it's 74 feet per second per inch of barrel loss and between the ten and a half and the seven and a half is a hundred and eighteen feet per second per inch of air loss so these uh ar-15s lose a lot more velocity when you start shortening the barrel compared to like a 308 or a thirty on six or something like that and we're actually we're shooting five five six here I keep saying two two three was there five five six lot learned here today I like this ten and a half 2,800 feet per second still pretty good for a handy little package like this this is the truck gun for me if you're interested in any of these firearms or any of these optics that we had on our ARS make sure you go to our description box below and click on the optic link or the Palmetto State Armory link and comment below if you were surprised by the loss of velocity per inch of barrel and the loss of velocity between the 16 inch all the way down through to the seven and a half inch barrel also comment below and let us know what ancient barrel you would prefer but other than that guys thanks for stopping by our Channel thanks for watching the video until the next video guys we'll see you later [Music]
