Van Life | Sprinter Van Conversion | Van Build Final Reveal

hi we're Josh and Alex two aspiring Travelers looking to break away from a conventional life of working nine to five by moving into a converted Sprinter van and traveling all across North America all of us along as we transition from our traditional lives and journey to wherever life calls us and our Pub Porter [Music] all right so it's finally time to do the big reveal a virus I know you guys have watched all the videos up until now it's building it out and finally family time has come for us to reveal everything that's been done we've actually been living out of it for the last couple of weeks we're on the road filming this and so now it looks all a little homey but we did do it up very nicely but Alex is here to do the interior walkthrough grand entrance Windows um those are really nice because these will pop open and offer us some ventilation from the inside [Music] um a beautiful staircase leading inside uh we also have this little cubby for our shoes which is super nice because we try not to bring our shoes inside at all um so that has Josh's running shoes my workout shoes his sandals we also have this outdoor table for whenever we want to um put our little mini grill out here which we've probably not done but I think that we're gonna have a little Sunday BBQ today so we'll probably set that up okay obviously Porter our sweet little bug he has his little feeding station right here he just devoured all of the water that he had in his bowl so I'll refill that for him in a second um but yeah this gets quite messy quite uh Gusty um you know just gets a little crazy sometimes but we need that so I'm just gonna pop in here and leave my shoes there which is what I typically do um if that puppy is filled so we also have these sage green um rugs right here the whole entire theme of the Interior I wanted to keep very earthy so we have a lot of Browns neutrals creams greens just wanted to make it feel very Serene um overall since it is such a confined space wanted to make it as relaxing as possible so we also have this little crochet macrame fake Vine uh in the front as well just to give it some liveliness got a little bug on Porter's eyes right here we have my workstation um Josh's workstation too depending on what mood we're in this is a lagoon table it's bubbles in and out depending on wherever you need it so most of the time whenever we're working remotely you'll find me here with my laptop open and sometimes crisscross applesauce so this is super fun um love this the wood you see throughout the whole entire van is a special Walnut coating um they do vary depending on how many coats I think that these only had one Coke done to them as well as a clear base as well could be wrong I don't know um but it's a very beautiful beautiful color so this is one workstation up here we obviously have the cab um this is on a rotational chair obviously it does not stay this way forever it will swivel and face forward um as does this one swivel this way so that this can become more of like a living entertaining Center um whenever we do eventually make friends and have guests over um but yeah we have some really great storage in the van uh up here we have um this storage that was built by Aaron obviously you guys saw that in the previous videos um it's wrapped in that toasted oatmeal material really really pretty and earthy um this is where we host all of our um covers for the windows so we put those up whenever we're at a new location and ready to go to bed so that nobody can see in and we can't see out so it's nice and black out um great sleep we also have our security camera right here as well as some additional just things that we wanted to stuff in here we've got Josh's hoodie Porter's hoodie Porters little leashes as well um so Porter loves green too so let's see what's next we also have up here um Josh if you want to get a better look at it we have Porter's little bed over behind the passenger chair which he chooses to ignore even though it's extremely comfortable we have his little elephant and Gator toy he likes the driver's side um Nook instead so he said uh forget that little cushy badge you guys got me I'm gonna sleep here whatever we also have a baby gate for him so he is a little bit more on the timid side so whenever we do have guests come in and out especially if they're coming to check it out for the first time we'll kind of leave him in this space and pull this out um he likes this space to hang out in general but it just kind of creates that barrier to make sure that his boundaries are being respected and he is safe he's loving this um this is actually a gift um that our Turkish friends made us um actually our um his wife mayor and Diego they own the crafty crust in Tequesta which is our favorite pizza place over there here in Diego we miss you guys and we miss the pizza uh even more but yeah this is amazing she is very very talented and will probably link her page below her stuff is awesome [Music] um let's see living room area got a beautiful green funky couch keeping with the theme we've got these pillows we got from Amazon Super funky I love the texture on these um keeping with you know just the green cream Brown whatever so blanket I also got it off of Amazon for a while I had this in my old apartment so we've had this for quite some time if you see a little bit closer we do have two different um materials we got these from Joanne's Fabric this one is more of a textured material and then the material here is more solid so it adds a little bit of Dimension um love that this is four inch Memory Foam memory foam yeah it's orange memory foam um here we have some additional storage um these are handmade cabinets um Erin did these with Josh and Aaron's dad obviously you guys got a sneak peek of that um but the attention to detail on these is really really amazing um we have the shaker style with the toasted oatmeal again featured in the center our push button so that these don't open and things come flying out while we're on the road which is a lifesaver they also have a 45 degree angle here so that we don't give ourselves a concussion and wait out so I want to look scene in here here we predominantly have a lot of food you'll see Trader Joe's a lot it's our favorite um same here also like the little spring so it's a slow open lots of food um lots of supplements oh gosh this is a very supplement heavy you can't really see it because it's covered by all this other stuff but there are a ton of supplements in here so we love that gotta stay healthy on the road um we also have different lighting throughout the whole entire van so there's the lighting for the living area there's oh dear God there's the lighting for the living area there's the lighting throughout the kitchen bathroom area and then there's also separate Lighting in the back bedroom so this lighting is you want to do it since you're right there it's on a little knob and it can be dim depending on what your mood is so if it's nighttime and we're having dinner here we typically will set up our laptop right there and watch a show and then put these on a dimmer so that they aren't so harsh and we are you know kind of setting our internal clock to bedtime so we don't have those harsh lights um but yeah we have dinner here I take the Naps here the maps are phenomenal I can attest to that um also a separate workstation is here um Josh likes to work here nice little swivel action on our second living table of the van um yeah I think that pretty much covering the series so I'll just put this away for now and these are also removable too which is super nice so they don't they aren't permanent fixtures we can remove them to you know create more space if we want but yes now we have our cute little control panel um this is the remote for our fan up above and we have our light fixture for the shower we have our water gauge which we're at three quarters of tank which is good um this is our inverter how we turn it on and off is that right Josh I think so okay I think this is what that is um and then this just is our battery gauge it lets us know where we are at um so right now I think it looks like we are getting some power from the solar panel up above we're at 78 and we also have plug-in abilities at this Camp which is really awesome we love that onto the kitchen um we have a drop in sink this is actually amazing it's like very roomy I was a little bit worried about having a small sink especially like with all of the dishes that will accumulate and just all of those kitchen things in general we've obviously been living with a full kitchen so that was one of my concerns but this is so Spacey so roomy we love it um we've got a little drying rack we've got some soap my sis got me um a little Scrub Daddy I know that those are super popular now um sink this is removable so we can also bring this outside for whatever reason and we have filtered water which we put in Porter's Bowl so if you want to grab quarters we'll actually fill it up a little demonstration a little demo and then that noise you hear is it pulling from the water King so let's give that shot [Music] there you go buddy uh yes so you'll also see some hooks here we don't have uh anything on them at the moment I'm trying to give you guys uh you know cleaner representation but usually we have like towels drying up here um so that's been fun love that we have our security system um so just like your home you know we turn this on when we leave we turn it off when we come back this has an additional safety measure with that camera right there we also have sensors so that's what it picks up on and if for any reason we cannot disarm the alarm it'll notify the nearest police station and then it'll have a list of contacts to go through letting them know hey Josh and Alex's van uh security alarm went off you know I don't know I don't know what happens Dex all I know is that that's something that we do this is also a part of the security system we also have the Proteus right here which was a gift from Josh's Grandma and Grandpa Mackenzie this is essentially a temperature gauge so it has an app on Josh's phone and it lets us know what the temperature is inside the van so if for whatever reason we have to leave Porter in here we're running into a business that doesn't allow dogs we'll leave the AC on for him and we can check the temperature at all times to make sure that he's comfy cozy and we also watch them on the monitor which is [Music] um this is a smoke detector and carbon monoxide very important for safety of course we also have a bunch of power outlets I didn't Point them out at the beginning but we have a ton of these we like will never go short on power out um this is a butcher block uh this is one piece of wood and stained with that same special Walnut I love it it's so beautiful it's so pretty we have this backsplash that we got from why am I blinking Floor Decor we got this backsplash from Floor and Decor it originally had little palm tree hexagons and Josh and Aaron took those out individually to give it more of this like green gradients effect which I love um so it picks up on all the different greens that we have in the band um but yeah same thing we have a two burner induction stove these will not turn on unless you have the right material on them which makes me feel really safe I don't ever have to worry about you know did I leave a rag on the stove top is it going to catch on fire because it just quite literally it does not turn on um so I love that what else we've got these cabinets here this is mostly kitchen stuff we also have our toothbrushes here as well um in retrospect I don't think that we need as many cups as we have but if we ever have a party like let's say we've become the life of the party at somewhere that we visit we're hosting a ton of people we'll have cups for everybody um and these are super cute these were a gift from Trish and I actually got this for Josh for his 29th birthday before we even bought the van so it was just kind of setting everything in motion you know we know that we wanted to do this and uh yeah I just feel like it's a fun little thing to look back on but yeah we have a ton of stuff in here this is just mostly kitchen stuff we've got these beautiful sage green um bowls and plate set that we got from Amazon as well some Tupperware storage hand pot fruit you know an assassinate um we also have some lower storage as well also in retrospect I think it would have been nice to have drawers but we didn't think about that it like drawers just completely but this has been really great and we have like storage stuff and here that helps kind of with dividers these are all very miscellaneous we have an air fryer that my Aunt Betty got us protein backing with the charger handle of Four Roses whiskey that Steve got us almond milk you know just very random things let's see what we have in here we got quarters dog food mouthwash Ziploc aluminum foil very miscellaneous is more so like cleaning focused so got our little trash can it's super cute we got that from Home Goods and then we also have this little section right here we have like this little net that we need to get um some command strips replaced but just additional storage it's like a little nightstand it's super cute uh Erin was really thoughtful with that this is a little Bluetooth thing my sister got me for Christmas it's very tiny I love many things um so we'll just hook up and put music out of there whatever we have a four 4.8 cubic feet point eight cubic feet the medic for each and the amount of food that houses this thing is actually incredible that was also something else that I was worried about but not an issue outside or we just did groceries that is something that we are worried about things have hit our head you know just always be constantly falling yeah just just always on edge about that stuff sometimes when I open these cabinets I will literally put my hand under it like as a first thing just to see what I catch so it doesn't lay on my head um but yeah if you want to get a little close-up of that there's a ton of food in there it's got a little freezer second I really love it so we are never going hungry [Music] um foreign [Music] area oh yes okay Josh wants me to tell you guys about all the great storage we have in our couch um which we do we have a ton of storage on our couch we actually keep our dirty laundry in there so it's nice and tucked away um along with a couple other things like my shoes um but yeah like if you look at it from this angle all of this [Music] to the back side of the van is just like empty storage space so obviously when you're in a very compact space you are like very grateful for whatever storage you have so that was amazing uh then we have this fun little basket of books blanket comforter all this stuff is pretty much Amazon we've got the same pillows on our couch with the macrame crochet um Vine moment back there love it uh yeah we have our light fixtures there's also some dimmers back there this is embarrassing okay I have to climb up here because it's very very high so if this is bad just you know speed it up or cut it out I can always skip ahead but I think it's going to create for good content welcome to my dad well touch lights right here and they are also on dimmers so if you hold them they get brighter or they can get dimmer so we love that also something really great if you turn off the rest of the lights in the van um and throw these bad boys on so these are the flare spaces that we have and this adds an additional three inches on each side so six inches total to give us I think it's six foot six across the width of the van I sleep comfortably and I probably would still sleep comfortably without these but Josh is obviously taller so these are great for him um and I just really like the look of them so they also have the toasted oatmeal inside ceiling special walnuts we've got our beautiful white pannering um we have like another monitor right there for the security system what else oh his and hers foreign the amount of clothes that we can put in here is astronomical it's amazing I love it also something that I was worried about I love my clothes I wasn't sure what to bring I'm a notorious person for over packing um and we've had a lot you know I don't think I left anything behind that I didn't need if anything I think I brought too much and we'll probably get rid of stuff on the way maybe donate them to shelters or something like that um so that's the his and hers moment we also have um the control for the heater that is under the passenger chair um so if we ever wake up in the morning and it's [Music] something control it right here from the bed um which I appreciate all things cozy so love it and then we also have these little window covers which came with this so very cool I'm gonna hop out gracefully and we have an AC unit right here as well um the medic and this makes the van incredibly cool uh it also is kind of like um what's the word I'm looking for like a sound machine almost like white noise whenever you're going to sleep um obviously you do hear things outside of the van despite you know the insulation and stuff that was put in that lessens that noise but this is just also really really nice love it and then you have our wardrobe our little full-length closet just an oatmeal on the inside I mean the attention to detail really is just immaculate um Aaron did a really great job so here we have some clothes we've got Josh's robe my robe I cannot live without my robe I knew that I was gonna have to bring that um tucked behind here we also have some additional Linens to switch out whenever we're doing laundry with the other ones um we also have the breaker system down here as well if you wanna see if you can get a look at that whoops I accidentally turned off that let's um yeah so we have our little breaker system and then we also have our toiletry store down here so a bit of extra storage and then we have our shower also something that I was worried about clearly I was worried about a lot of things um I feel like worried is probably the wrong word I just was concerned about the adjustment living in a house and then minimizing so much um obviously it was going to be like a learning curve and growing pains and all that stuff but this is very nice um I have no complaints whatsoever I actually really enjoy it it's a perfect height for me Josh has to like Crouch a little bit but we have this magnetic shower head so it makes it easy we can just pop that off wash our body as needed um little loofah all of our shower toiletries these are Palisade walls which I'm sure you heard Aaron and Josh talk about during the videos we ordered these off of Amazon it's a vinyl and obviously waterproof and you'll see that throughout the exterior as well just to ensure that if any water does leave the shower this section is waterproofed um so toilet we have a separate tiny toilet and this isn't too bad either honestly it's been kind of fun obviously number one in the front number two in the back we've got our light that is on the control panel so that's always really nice and we have this beautiful um like river stone tile for the bathroom floor uh I love the way that this feels on my feet we also got this from Floor and Decor so also just tying in with the rest of the thing and I think that's it for the interior it's been a lot of fun obviously we've only been on the road for three weeks so we're learning as we go um I've loved it it still feels a little bit like vacation to me um and I'm really excited for everything else that we're gonna experience in this fan this is Josh and Mai's first home essentially the market is insane so the thought of buying a house just seems like so far into the future so we wanted to do something fun and explore while we can while we still have you know just all these different opportunities in front of us so here's our tiny home inside what's your favorite thing about the inside that's my favorite it's kind of hard our bed is super comfortable I sleep like a baby in there I feel like I sleep better here than I did at home our other home um I love our couch honestly our couch is super fun I love my workstation I love everything I really do it's been it's been so fun all right so I'll try to follow up that beautiful interior walkthrough by Alex I'm probably gonna be much shorter which by now you probably are all sick of me having seen all the damage van build videos but so it's too much to cover you guys haven't already seen obviously we have to see our Lawrence out here open up and open up these up so they bent in just throwing the max air fan where it sucks air out and it just pulls air through here even out there and it creates a nice little airflow throughout the entire van so when you're in colder climates where the weather is beautiful outside that's probably what I'd recommend doing uh you hear the beautiful sounds of nature beautiful little airflow throughout the entire van a great extra room for the interior of the van bug flying around me I see it let's open it for the flare spaces I would say partially for me they're like the perfect size I would say anyone that's taller than me uh you might feel a little bit more crammed I would say maybe another inch or two um I'm 511 for frame reference so if someone who's about six one it might feel like a little bit I mean I like to be sprawled out you know hands on the pillow and stuff like this and my toes out so maybe that makes me a little bit longer but every song about six two might be a bit tight fit and then back here we have our bike rack let's see Alex's bike up there um it's big enough to fit uh two bikes up there and obviously we have our Iraq and ladder let's take a view from the top of the band um thinking of you from up here this is our nice beautiful roof deck Inox have actually had some wine and cheese up here on the last few weeks which is super nice overlooking overlooking nice little campgrounds and a lake off in the distance I definitely couldn't recommend having a roof deck enough it's more of a nice luxury it's not something you'll probably use every day but it's always nice to have a little place to come up and chill on top of your fan this is our AC unit uh it's a lifesaver for hotter conditions just throw this baby on it comes a little icebox especially in the bed area see our flood lights right here this is the rear flood light and then over here I'll Point them out you can see little side ones right there in there and then our big light bar at the front those will be crucial when the sun's down and we're encountering probably all kinds of wildlife fill those babies on keep Wildlife away from you have to worry about running into anything so probably make more use of those out west albeit we have used them already and they do come you coming handy here we have our solar panel uh this thing's been awesome provides a little bit of energy a little bit of juice throughout the day when it's sunny out it's not strong enough to power the AC unit I'll be if he's strong enough to power the fan some lights in the fridge and the ventilation of the toilet I mean over here is the awning which I have used quite a few times and I'm actually gonna need a little demo of that so here's our Fiamma f80 awning pick ones that are going to extend all the way to the back of 13 foot awning ours is the 10. um I prefer this one just because it's big enough for what we need I feel like having a free flow or three foot four in length would be a little bit too much of an audience to really especially when winds pick up [Music] [Music] and then best part [Music] yeah inside potentially work out out here pull up some camper chairs that we have chill yeah shaded area takes it from the rain it's a beautiful view border stay or the entire and exterior oh one other thing I forgot to mention or show you so that's a trailer hitch [Music] this is how we empty or drain the gray water we have a little hose that connects to that we can pull something if we need to and then you guys have seen a clean look of the trunk of the van or the garage space but here's how it looks now I think we have it stuck to the gills some I mean nothing creative we can uh we got gym equipment we got tools we got extra clothes for Colder Weather we got cleaning supplies obviously at the wet area over there for the hoses there's there's more and more back there but it's pretty much a little garage space probably like in a garage that looks like at home just stuck with all the miscellaneous items that you can find or imagine but yes I hope you enjoyed the tour of Iris big reveal showing you every little nook and cranny how we're utilizing the space how it turned out at the end I I'm beautiful I think it's beautiful I love it super grateful for having it I appreciate it though work today and put in it the attention to detail to make everything come out looking perfect it's really a Little Dream van and I'm excited to see the adventures and see where we
