hi everybody this is jeanette from boricua soy and crafts in this video i am going to explore the repositioning hoop for the sc 1900 i went on amazon and i bought this set it's called embroidery hoops four in one and in this set it has four embroideries and one that i want to try out is the 5x12 um the 5x12 is a pretty big hoop um and let me pull it out to show you guys and one of the reasons why i wanted to do this is look how big it is it's pretty big huh so one of the reasons why i really wanted to do this video is because not everybody wants to spend uh the money on a multi-needle machine multi-needle machines you know if they're really great for when you're you know you have a lot of color changes and stuff and also for if you want embroider big items but the 5x7 hoop on the um sc 1900 kind of sometimes leaves you a little limited because you can only embroider within the five by seven but with this hoop um it you can see it has four different um knobs on here right so it has two here and two here so these repositioning hoops should be able to allow you to get bigger designs on your items so i'm gonna give this a shot and let's see how this goes i am going to um go into in brilliance essentials and i'm going to pick it so i'm going to do this whole thing together with you i have not tried it yet this is something new so i figured at the same time while i'm trying it we can take a look at this and see how it goes so my whole goal right now is to try to embroider my whole name on this towel okay just got an old towel just to see how it goes so i figured i can take this towel and i can probably embroider my whole name across from it and so let's see how it works okay so i'm let's go over to um in brilliant and let's uh do our file and then from in brilliance um after we finish the file i'm going to take it over to the sc 1900 and we're going to plug in this new hoop and let's see if it works so see you in a little bit okay guys i am now at my mac and we are in in brilliance right now um i have my hoop and in brilliance set up for a five by seven in order to use the five by twelve hoop um we have to change the size of the hoop that we have in brilliance so the way i do this is underneath in brilliance we're going to select preferences and then right here on the side it has normal and then it also has multi-function so i'm going to click on multi-function and then i am going to scroll down here and i'm going to look for a 5x7 hoop and i believe it's the 130 by 300 jumbo and hold on let me see if there's any of these yep it is okay so five by twelve let's see if i can zoom this i don't have my sun video taping right now so i'm trying to do this so that you can see it so as you know once you have once you select that then you're gonna hit apply and you're gonna hit okay and as you can see this is the the hoop okay so one of the things i'm going to go back because i do want to rotate it because i want to do my name on it so i'm going to go back to preferences and i'm going to select rotate and hit apply and okay and i see that it goes across now okay now one of the things is we're going to do something very very simple i'm going to pull this down here oops sorry um oh man okay so sorry i'm gonna have to somehow hold on um let me let me put this back on the pot hold on okay sorry about that okay so where i left off is we've already selected our hoop and i rotated it and stuff now what i want to do is i want to add text because i want to put my name across of it so i'm going to hit the text button and then here i'm going to type my name jeanette and one of the things that i want to do is i know there's a certain font that i like that i want to try um where is it all the way at the bottom i know it's called mariah and bear with you guys there it is and i think i'm going to try to do a three inch oh that's perfect oh that looks nice too i really like the way that looks okay i am going to just modify it a little bit i just want to um put the letters a little bit closer so i'm going to just move them one by one yeah so it looks a little neater there you go put it like that and i'll make this one a little bit in there there you go and here's my name and then i will center this a little bit better that looks pretty okay so i have this now according to everything that i read is when i save this file it should save it as two files so that way when we go to the sc 1900 i get to do one i stitch out one file and then i stitch out the you know i change the hoop and then stitch out the other portion so i'm going to now save this and i am going to get me a usb port um let me a usb flash drive here let me grab one real quick i'm going to put this in my machine there we go and i want to save it on my flash drive and then oh it says split design oh that's pretty cool okay split design so i'm going to put yeah i'll leave it at split design and then save and i don't know how it's saved on the flash drive so i'm going to go over to the flash drive because i want to see um does it have like a split design one and two i don't know so let me see yes it does i don't know oh you guys can't see but let me let me make it look look it this is really really cool look at this it had it when i saved it as a split design it has split design bottom and then split design top so that is pretty pretty cool okay so we're going to now um set up the uh the hoop and i'm gonna float this towel and we're gonna go over to the machine okay so this is pretty cool so it looks like this is working so far so we'll see how it all stitches out and you know works in the end okay guys um this is something that i really want you guys to see um this right here the one that you see on the right this is the transitional um hoop the one that i'm going to be using on the sc 1900 okay i also i wanted to do this shot so that you guys can see the one on the left this is my mighty hoop and this is what i use on my multi needle machine for the big um you know the big embroideries and stuff and i just wanted to put it side by side and i'm also going to put this one on top because i want you to see the difference in the size as you can see it's not much um it's probably what maybe you can embroider maybe an extra inch or something um but i just wanted you guys to see really the difference in the um in the size between these two hoops it's really not that much so you know if you are looking to to see you know hey you know i i need a bigger hoop maybe i should buy a bigger embroidery machine um the way looking at this and then looking at this i really don't see too much of a big deal of a difference so you know it's like why spend the extra money if you don't have to you know that's the way i kind of see it i mean you know the bigger embroidery machines are faster but the thing is if you're not in a rush and stuff like that i mean this seems to work because i really don't see too much of a difference in these two now one thing too that i i want you to point out to you guys um sometimes i use this type of um tearaway stabilizer and um let me see this is about uh 12 inches 12 12 by 10. this is a 12 by 10. as you can see i could not use this because it doesn't fit the whole thing right so what i had to do was i used this i have a roll of cutaway stabilizer and then what i did was i just kind of laid it out this way and then i just cut it and i put it in now it is a towel that i'm embroidering i normally will not use cutaway stabilizer on a towel i usually use tearaway but because what i really just want to do is it's an old towel and i just really want to see how this all works so i just um you know i'm using the tearaway right now so i just cut it and i put it in the hoop and then i just cut around with the scissors just to get rid of any excess stabilizer so what i'm going to do also is i'm going to spray some temporary adhesive on here um you know to make it a little sticky and then i'm going to put the towel over it so i can float it and then take it over to the machine okay okay so i have my this is my um cutaway stabilizer this is uh just temporary uh spray adhesive i use kk 2000 um you can use other brands there's other brands out there and what i'm going to do is i'm going to spray this so that way it's a little sticky because i don't have sticky stabilizer and then this is the towel that i'm going to use this is an old towel but i'm just doing this for just to you know test this out and what i'm going to do is um this is where you snap in to the machine so i'm going to make sure that it stays on this side and then i'm going to take the towel and place it so that most of the towel is on the other end of the machine okay and then i'm just going to post that post but place this on here as straight as possible that way i can embroider my name across here okay so i have this i'm gonna try to put it real nice and neat that way i don't um mess it up because um even though it's an old towel it could be my old towel and i'm gonna spray this now for a little bit okay and it is going to be sticky you could just touch it you could feel it it's already sticky and then i'm just going to place this down to where i want it um yes to me and it doesn't really have to be perfect but you know when you're working on something you do kind of do want it perfect and here you go kind of stays let me see if you could well i could feel it but i'm sure you know so this is ready now it's it's ready for me to just snap it into the machine and embroider i usually just like to fold stuff to make it a little neater and then this will go into the machine like that and then i'm going to have my name jeanette print out right here um using the big hoop so let's go over to the machine and let's see you know plug in the usb and let's see how it works okay okay guys okay guys um i have put in my hoop in the machine it's on um what i did was i put it in the first two hoops at the bottom okay so i'm hoping that the first part of my name shows up here i want to say jeanette this way but let's see how this all works out okay i'm going to put in the usb in the port and i'm so sorry because i am holding the camera with my hand and i'm trying to do all this and stuff and let me see i want to try to make sure that you guys could see everything so let's go over here and let's see if i can pull up the design what it looks like on here so let's see i'm going in here and i think you know um it had two two uh two designs so i guess we should see it it should be coming up soon oh yeah oh okay so this is the first part um let me try to go a little bit here as you see these are the two files um this is the beginning of my name right here okay this is the beginning of my name j-e-a and then here's the n-e-e-t so um let's see i'm gonna select this i'm gonna set it um yep it looks pretty good and then i guess all i have to do is now embroider this portion and um then after it's done select the second file and then embroider the second file and it should have my whole name on here now i forgot to get the topping let me get the topping and be right back because remember when you are um embroidering on towel you always want to put some type of topping on it because of these fibers and then what will happen is the stitches they're going to just sink in okay so i will be right back okay i have put on my side of the topping my well water sable topping it's on top of the towel now let me um go back here so that you guys can see the whole machine thing and i'm going to put the eye pen down and okay now let's uh i see everything on here and okay and i already threaded my needle i'm using a big comb needle see right here got my little needle stand and let's hit that start button and let's see how it embroiders and stuff so hopefully it um comes out pretty good okay it is not say oh i have to end the edit and i'm just gonna hit employee and i have the color that i want on here okay so i'm just going to hit okay um let's see what happens [Music] and this did not work very well [Music] because it is doing this and i don't know what that is okay my guess this looks like let me put this very close so you guys can see sorry it looks like this is a basting stitch which is showing me sorry about that um which is showing me where the rest of this is going to go so that's pretty new so if you look over here you see that there's like a square around this file so i guess this is the basting stitch but i'm going to keep going because i know that i can always take this stitch out oops sorry that i can take the stitch out you know this is something that you can use just thread it out but um let's see what's going what's gonna happen now okay so and i think it's just going to right now stitch the rest so i think this is just showing me uh this this first part you know the first part of the let me just put this all the way back i'm trying to get this so that you guys can see um oh boy i'm i this is really hard to do when you don't have someone to hold the camera for you um i'm so sorry guys okay let me see and the camera's gonna fall yep um i had someone you know they've been borrowing my tripod and it's not exactly working okay i'm just gonna have to hold it all right so anyway sorry about that i'm gonna hit the the button i think it's just facing this down which is fine let's hit it and let's see what happens now and um basically it looks like it looks like it's actually doing the j city i think so i think it's doing the j so i am going to let this go because this this actually it takes 21 minutes to actually um stitch out so as you can see it looks like it is stitching the letter out the letter j so i'm gonna let this run and we will come back and i will show you what what the end product of this of this is okay okay guys we are almost at the end of embroidering the first half of the design it's right towards the end so as you can see it it looks beautiful it really has come out really really nice so i'm kind of like i'm impressed so far what i am really really interested in is how is this second file going to embroider is it going to look nice one of the things that i noticed is you know it has this little square the basting stitch that it put and it says okay so i finished all right um so i'm just wondering if the second file is gonna have this basting stitch and i think it will so um i'm going to now take the hoop and i'm going to move it to the other two um just lift it oh i have to lift this up let's lift this and i had the first two hoops now i'm going to bring this down to the other two loops okay and snap it down so as you can see i have the first part of my name here and um okay i'm gonna go here come back here now i'm going do is it okay to cancel it's okay i'm gonna cancel it go back to the usb files and i'm going to select the second half of my name um here it is i'm going to set it end it and the edit and this is it and one of the things though i am kind of interested in knowing where this is going to go so i'm going to hit um the button right here it has little dots with the little arrow if you hit that and then you hit okay oh sorry hit that and then you hit this again it's going to show you exactly where it's going to embroider and it looks like yes it looks like it's going to go over to this side over here so it should embroider fine okay so i'm going to smooth this out i was getting nervous because i see people have pictures of the needles going through your fingers i don't want it to happen to me okay so i'm gonna hit okay because it looks like it is gonna work but i do notice that in the design it has that same basting stitch around but i guess it's okay i mean you know what do you do i mean is what it is and you know it is a basting stitch so i know that see you can remove this you can actually cut that out and just you know it's it's not something that's like terrible um you can just cut it as you can see i'm cutting it um i don't know if that facing stitch is gonna go over this basting stitch but it's something that you just take a um steam ripper and just take this out and stuff kind of wish it never had it in the first place um but hey it it is what it is this is the first time and i'm sure i'll find a way to get rid of it so here we go and it looks like the basting stitch is on and yeah okay this one is doing is it's showing where the second half of the design is gonna go and i cut it okay um i really wish i that didn't have that because it kind of like you know it kind of basted right over the design too right here but that's all right i mean it is what it is okay so i'm going to keep going um and we'll see what what happens um i already know that all these little squares i'm going to have to take them out you know with the steam ripper but that's okay um but the way that this is already stitching um i could kind of tell that it is going to be continuous and it's probably going to look really really nice so um i'm gonna let it run because this is 22 minutes and i'm gonna let it run to the end and then we'll see what we have at the end product okay guys the machine is still going but i wanted to give you guys a little peek on how it's going so far and as you can see it is really stitching out beautifully um look at that the n and the a it's like together so i'm just like i'm really really impressed so far by this method i mean it seems really really easy and brilliant just gives you the two files and you just pop them in the machine and you're good to go so you know this is a really good alternative that means that you're not really stuck with a 5x7 hoop you can actually use a 12x7 and you know make bigger designs so i'm going to keep this running and we're going to go to the end okay okay everybody it finished embroidering and stuff so um as you can see um i'm gonna lift this up um and i'm going to take it out so you guys can see it having some trouble here okay [Music] it is a big one there we go there we go got it out all right pushing it out all the way there we go let's take a look at this let's see what it looks like and it looks really good it looks really really good the only thing is um when it finished i had i did have to backstitch there was a little portion on the little letter e that somehow it just skipped so all i did was i just backstitched all the way until i got to that portion i had that restitched but um the only thing that i see you know that i really don't like is this basting stitch that's here but like i said you're just gonna have to you know get the steam ripper and take this all out and stuff but you know overall it's not bad it looks really really good uh this is really great i mean there is no way you could have gotten this on a 5x7 hoop let me pull one out so that we could take a look at what a 5x7 compared to this see there's no way this name could have really fit in this hoop at all um you know because it's just no way so this is really a great alternative to um instead of buying a more expensive machine um because you need a bigger hoop um this is a 5x12 and um tension is really bad too oh no because i use black thread at the bottom okay i was able to say because you're supposed to see the white thread but i do see the little thing in there so it's good i'm good i use black thread at the bottom so that's why you don't see any white threads because there's no white thread but anyway um you know just wanted to uh show you guys using a 5 by 12 hoop on the sc 1900 but i also before you go i want to show you i'm going to we're going to flip over to my computer because i wanted to show you because some of you guys are going to ask okay today well why did you buy this set that has four hoops in it okay instead of just buying the five by seven hoop by itself well um i'm gonna let you know this is this is the reason and we're gonna go in here and we're going to take a look um as you see i was looking on amazon right and this is the price of a 5x7 hoop okay it's 24 24.99 okay so i was like all right 25 but then when i looked at this set right here for four of them it was 34 so i'm thinking okay so 20 you know what are we talking about 10 bucks right but then i was like this set comes with another 5x7 it comes with the five uh five by twelve and then it comes with the smaller hoop and then a four by four right so i'm like okay so that's four hoops for the price of 34.99 you can always use an extra five by seven who and then when i looked here because once i had to buy a replacement for my five by seven hoop um look the price for that five by seven hoop by itself is 25.99 okay so to me i just looked at it as you know it's a really a better bargain if you would have purchased this one with all four okay because you're getting your five by 12 and you're also getting an extra 5x7 you get a 4x4 and the little oval one so you know so you guys know why i opted to um to buy the um the box of four versus um just buying the 12 by five individually i just felt that you know it would you save more money if you go and you just get the four um i just thought this was a better value that's all so anyway um just hope you enjoyed this video give it a thumbs up please subscribe to my channel but um i just really wanted to share with you guys that this is a great alternative um to using your um you know your sc 1900 if you need a bigger hoop you know it's i mean came out really really nice this is really cool i really like it and you know using in brilliance really help because you know you're able to split the the design into two and i'm starting to wonder if you can go to in brilliance and have and just remove this step in the file and stuff but i'm gonna see if i can do that and if i can't i'll do another video to show you guys how i did that so that way you guys can do it too because right now it's just taking the steam ripper and just getting rid of this box and getting rid of the other box but then you're good to go so anyway um you know just going to share this with you guys have a good night and you know hope you enjoy it give me a thumbs up and um enjoy your brother sc 1900's okay talk to you soon bye
