the best and most effective ways to improve your football skills is to practice and if you want to become the best why not train like the best as well well that's what i thought so in today's video we'll take a look at three effective drills that the pros do which you can also implement into your own individual and team trainings as well so remember to subscribe to the channel and let's get going [Music] rondo the first training drill is el rondo it's one of those football drills that are known around the world and with good reason in this drill you practice pressing defending passing touch and awareness all while having fun making it a great way to warm up while improving many different areas of your game now elrondo is a pretty simple game you often have two or three players in the middle chasing the ball depending on the amount of players and the size of the circle of course now then the rest of the players form a circle around them trying to move the ball around with little passes and get as many passes as possible without the middle players touching the ball and whenever a player from the middle touches the ball you switch with the teammate who last touched the ball basically who lost the ball if you get 15 passes or more the players in the middle have to stay for one more round which sucks and you usually only have one to two touches now if this gets too difficult you can modify the rules but this is more or less how most pro teams do it elrondo is a game that requires a few teammates therefore a lot of people do this at team practices most often as a warm-up now this drill is not that intense and can often be pretty fun so it's a good way to start your practice get the mood and the feed going and um did i mention the nutmeg rule well this is why arundo might be one of the most fun drills to warm up whenever you not make an opponent clean meaning that the opponent doesn't touch the ball and is received by a teammate they have to stay in the middle for one more round so not only do you get to humiliate your teammate like juan mata completely destroying raoul albiol but they also have to go for another round so a great drill to sharpen your skills and have fun at the same time then there's training one-on-ones which is actually also something that many pro teams do because training this can be good for every position on your pitch as you practice both your attacking and your defensive skills you can do this very casually as a warm-up to get your touch and explosiveness warmed up but you can also use the one-on-ones at the end of your practice to get a really high intensity drill the one-on-one drill can be used in many different ways and with some variation like here with the english under 21s add some players around the pitch to act as a rebound to give the attacking player an advantage you can also experiment with some two on twos or three on threes this is a good way to create a lot of pretty realistic attacking situations and isolate that part of the game but why should you even practice one-on-ones i mean it seems like a pretty specific situation to practice and something that doesn't happen that many times during a match at least not to everyone well you see practicing one-on-ones also develops another area than your ability in one-on-one situations and i know this may sound weird but hear me out guys because in football it's important to have confidence and not everyone does therefore you need to practice taking the initiative which will help in turn boost your confidence and practicing one-on-ones does just that because as an attacker you have to try and create an attacking situation out of nothing other than your own imagination in other words it's a great way to force yourself to leave that safe comfort zone and actually start taking people on it might not work in the beginning but keep grinding and eventually you'll be taking players on left right and center because you're confident in yourself and your own abilities and ultimately you're okay failing because if you do you're just gonna try again that's confidence my friends [Music] the final drills that all pros do is shooting with different variations of course now at the highest level chances don't come that often so you have to be clinical when you finally get them and the only way to do that is to practice so many times that you can basically finish your chance in your sleep now you can practice shooting in many different ways but it's often a good idea to add more to shooting drills than just firing away shots from the same place if you look at the english national team they like to do this drill where you first need to take a good touch and finish and after that you need to round the defender and finish again only this time on your first touch if you have another teammate you can do our variation to this drill where you add a small pass like we see here now other than just shooting you can practice tap-ins and headers from crosses maybe practice penalties or maybe you want to practice your free kicks it's up to you and what you want to improve now all of these different drills help you towards becoming more clinical when you get the chance and at the end of the day football is about scoring more goals than the opponent so why are you still here go lace up those boots and get out there shooting however if you want the outro before you go well here it is three drills that the pros do which can also improve your own game but are there other great drills that you'd love to learn in the future let us know right down below remember of course to go grab your new boots from unisport in the link to the right and of course also don't forget to hit the playlist in the bottom left
