United Kids | New Wine Space Agency - Day 1

hey everybody welcome to United Breaks Out United Kids yes here we go we've got 4 mornings of fun of worship of teaching of time with the Holy Spirit of games of a whole bunch of different things just for you in your living room how exciting now we're all a little bit sad that we can't be meeting together in our venues in our tents at New Wine but what we've done is we've tried to gather everything that we would normally do and put it through your telly we're hoping and praying that this is an incredible week for you and your household so every morning 9 o'clock make sure you are right where you are right now then also at 3 o'clock every afternoon we have got Stomping Ground with me and Rosie and with Victoria it's going to be a whole bunch of fun a whole bunch of kind of us thinking a bit more about God after what we've learned in the mornings and I really want to encourage you to be there then as well so get involved enjoy it and we'll see you soon hi there welcome to NWSA we're so excited that you have joined us on the starship explorer for our very special training mission my name is Chet and I am a cadet just like you let me introduce you to the rest of our crew but also my family oh Chase I'm so excited I can't believe that we are on this mission finally I think that needs a sticker so my name is Rita and I am going to be recording everything online for my followers so follow me at Instagram mama oh mum you're so embarrassing you're on your phone more than I am anyway guys you'd probably much rather follow me my handle is at Clara 15 196234 and that's because my name is Clara I'm 15 and also oh why are the girls in this family so obsessed with Instagram I do much cooler things like I can kick a broccoli for over a mile look oh anyway my name's Billy Billy the Kid uh that's great son well done but let's remember that our training mission well it has nothing to do with vegetables what has it got stuff to do with so our mission is to explore God's kingdom and discover what we have in store today we've got so many things that we're doing and we're ready to launch into our space pods we need each and every one of us to pass this mission absolutely and we are on this mission together so before we do our warm-ups with our space cadets Billy why don't you tell us oh no it's not your turn today it's Clara's turn Clara why don't you tell us your space fact for the day I think Billy should tell us because I think Billy's got one up his sleeve okay no I've got one it's ready it's up my sleeve I think I think yeah okay so did you know that if you were to go to Neptune or Uranus or uh Saturn or Jupiter that you wouldn't be able to walk because there's no surface see that was a good fact to have up your sleeve but do you know what it is made of do any of our space cadets know well I think you need to do some reading Clara meanwhile we need to get off our sofas as a household ready to do our space warm-ups what have we got to do so today we would love for you to join with someone in your household and we are going to be doing some space mirroring so you're going to turn to your partner and one of you is going to be the astronaut and you are going to do different movements like there's no gravity and you're on space and then you see if your partner follows you remember there's no gravity in space oh well done Billy you did such a good job and you guys how was that not too bad not too bad well we're all warmed up space cadets I would love to introduce you to our captain who is also our God we are going to worship and praise him so that's what we'll do now so jump off your sofas and get ready to sing oh hi there space cadets and welcome to mission control centre here on the starship explorer now we are on our training mission ready to explore God's great big galaxy and see the amazing plan that he has for our lives my name is Chet and I'm the space pilot around here and I am a groovy goose what you are a groovy goose Chet ok I still don't understand a word of that well you know I have been using Instagram and I have liked every picture and put a sticker on everything every post that I have had so I would love to start Instagraming and stickering the real world who put these stickers all over my space station I thought they looked really great Clara [groans] I mean what's wrong with a fuzzy unicorn whatever Billy set a course mark Alpha setting a course mark Alpha um excuse me we are supposed to be waiting for the Captain we haven't received a message from him yet yeah he's the one who gives us our instructions and the one we follow I know I know but I'm going on instinct instinct what intuition come again you know plow in my own field what following my tummy ah tummy yes that reminds me um are you really going to eat that thing before take off absolutely oh but Chet and Billy and Clara you know that I am the communications officer and we have to wait for the captain we need to hear from him before we do anything nonsense I've been a space astronaut for 12 years if I get a good feeling in my gut then I know to go for it 12 years that is a very long time I mean it's not like something bad could happen [warning warning something bad has happened] um it says that we're 3 million 3 trillion miles off course in asteroid field hashtag annoyed dad I was about to level up on 2 weeks well look everyone calm down uh everything's going to be fine I've been an astronaut for 12 years yes yes I'm the most experienced at space I'm the most experienced at space that is interesting 12 years you have been going to work as an astronaut for 12 years yeah yeah but I don't actually remember you ever going on like a stay away mission yeah and last year I remember looking through your astro briefcase and all there was was like balloons and party poppers what mission did you need that for well there was um James's sixth uh oh the gutenberg anniversary oh and the twins christening those don't sound like missions Chet they sound like a party well are you a party astronaut oh what you were like a clown or something cool he used to be an entertainer I may have performed a space themed party or two so you have gone from blowing up balloons to blowing up this mission no look look I can sort this out I got a feeling in my bones feeling in your bones that doesn't sound good I think we need to get a message from the captain hang on hang on hang on wait a minute what if I just press this button the starship explorer team are in real trouble now but will Billy and his button save the day what happens next a. nothing they stay exactly where they are b. the gravity gets switched off and they all float around mission control c. they are flung back to safety d. fruit smoothie is sprayed across the ship what do you think happens next you decide let's find out wait a minute what if i just press this button no just a blender with no lid on okay Chet you stay away from the controls please Billy please can you sort out all this food and Clara what you just sit on your phone yeah right okay so we need to find and see if there's a message from the captain there's the message it says don't worry this is the captain speaking I know you are lost but I know the way to go if you follow my coordinates I will keep you safe Billy do you want to come back here of course I am going to send you the captain's coordinates Clara Clara yeah will you make sure that the engines are running at full capacity yep and Chase Chase oh can you just rather relax over there thank you okay are you ready warning warning everything is back to normal [sigh of relief] that is better no more following my gut anymore the captain is definitely the one to follow oh absolutely Chet you deserve a sticker for this good idea at last oh it sounds like another message oh I'll check it's our daily member put it up on screen it says I am the way the truth and the life no one goes to the Father except by me John 14 6. well done now remember the member needs to be committed to memory each and every day so how about we repeat that again together and you guys how about you join us at challenge you at home to a game now Michael this is a very special part of this session and I've come up with an amazing name for it okay I'm sure good good game good name what's the name yeah it's called leaders versus kids versus adults I mean it does what it says on the tin I guess it's kids versus adults yes so whoever is at home can play this game too so you need to grab some of the plastic cups guys will you show that you've got your plastic cups and this game is specifically called stack attack and what you need to do is build a pyramid as quickly as you possibly can but then take it down as quick as you possibly can okay so have you got that so build a pyramid take the pyramid down fastest time wins yes pretty much have you guys got that I think you have okay are you ready James are you ready I'm ready okay in 3 2 1 go okay James seems to have a good technique oh oh Michael looks like he's doing well no take that back oh well done James keep going keep going keep going oh James Michael what are you doing so James you are the winner but who is the winner at your home and did you manage to beat James welcome to the messiest part of the day uh it is Michael versus Emily uh we have come with we're apart but we can still get messy so we're out here in the garden and our first game is going to be a game of Mcdonald's with no hands so basically we've got a Mcdonald's meal each and we have to eat it without using our hands I'm thinking feet knees elbows everything it's gonna be crazy let's go okay burger flip into the mouth can he do it in 3 2 1 so close [mumbles] uh lots of grass in that all right time for the chips we're going for elbow chips much more pleasant oh hang on this is a race come on squeeze it [laughing] all right so despite her being on a trampoline Emily has actually did this really well so I've got hope for myself that I am also going to perfect the foot drink hello my name is Bob Hartman and I'm going to tell you the story now about the time that Saul became a Christian here we go Saul reckoned that Jesus disciples were telling a pack of lies saying that Jesus who died on the cross was somehow now back alive so Saul got official permission to go to Damascus town arrest all of Jesus followers and bring their new movement down but there on the road something happened a heavenly light shone around bright as the sun it blinded Saul he fell like a stone to the ground then Saul heard a voice from heaven a voice that called out his name why are you keen to persecute me the voice asked him simple and plain who are you Lord Saul said trembling I'm Jesus the voice answered true now carry on into Damascus and you will be shown what to do but all Sauls companions were puzzled they heard the same voice that Saul heard but they couldn't see who was speaking and stood still without saying a word they led their blind friend to Damascus they stayed with him 3 long days with nothing to eat and nothing to drink Saul silently waited and prayed he saw in a dream Ananias a disciple of Jesus kind praying and laying hands on his head so he was no longer blind about that same time Ananias saw a vision of Jesus who said in straight street you'll meet Saul of Tarsus lay your hands please upon his head not that Saul exclaimed Ananias he's surely your enemy Lord he's here on a mission to put us in prison at least that is what I have heard he's my chosen man answered Jesus there's a job that I want Saul to do to tell the whole world about me Gentiles as well as Jews and so off you go Ananias so off Ananias went I'm hearing God's call he said the blind Saul and this is why I have been sent to bring back your sight is one reason I lay both my hands on your head and to fill you with God's Holy Spirit as well is what Ananias said something like scales dropped away from Saul's eyes and then just like that he could see and when Ananias had baptised him Saul asked him for something to eat then Saul went a different direction in fact he was never the same he followed God's call then called himself Paul new mission new life new name welcome onboard the starship explorer we are right here in mission control this is a place where all of the brains work together the computer and the devices and all kinds of radar help to tell us where to go and it's where we know to follow the right direction and you need that when you're in space because space is enormous I mean enormous it's so big it is expanding and my friend Rick here is going to help us to show how space is getting bigger and bigger and bigger in fact it's growing in each and every direction and so we definitely need our mission control to help tell us the way forward but it's so big in space with so many stars and so many planets that we need help to show us the way we have space charts and maps and solar systems from people who have spent time looking through telescopes and finding out all about space and from what they've done we know the way to go but even though we know the stars and the planets and the satellites we still need to know who to follow and the direction to go in and so we have our captain and our captain is on board our ship and we follow in his footsteps you know our captain don't you he's Jesus he's God's Son and God is so amazing that he made the whole of space in fact we read in the Bible how he created the moon and the stars the planets the animals and he even made you and me it says in the Bible that we are his masterpiece we are in his image and right at the beginning of time when God created everyone we read how we walked hand in hand with God in the garden how we went with him each and every day following where he led us and everything was good and right but in time we went the wrong way we decided to go our own way instead the way that God told us it's a bit like our space junk here this is all the rubbish that we find in space and we put inside of our bin but in our lives we can fill that up with rubbish too when we've messed up we began to lie we began to cheat we began to hurt others and only think of ourselves and by building up all that space junk it meant we couldn't be hand in hand with God anymore we couldn't go to where we were right in the beginning and so we were separated and God loves us so much he doesn't want us to stay apart from him so he came up with an amazing plan a rescue mission he sent Jesus his Son to earth to show us what it's like what God is like and how much he loves us and God showed his love Jesus showed it by the way in which he was with other people he healed them he helped them and he noticed each and every one but he never ever did anything wrong he never cheated or lied or hurt others or put himself first in fact Jesus was perfect and to show his love Jesus stretched his arms wide on the cross as a sign of love for everyone Jesus died and by dying it took away all of our space junk everything that we've ever done wrong and when Jesus came back to life again it meant that we knew that he was really God's Son and we can go back to being hand in hand with God now Jesus is our amazing captain that we can follow in the footsteps of but meeting him is such a life-changing time and Saul knew that in our story today we heard how Saul was going against God and against God's people he was hurting others and gathering the believers of Jesus and gathering the believers of Jesus together and putting them in prison but then one day on the road Saul met Jesus and his life turned completely around and he started to follow him and each and every day he went around gathering other followers of Jesus because Saul knew that Jesus was the one to follow now we can follow Jesus too but I don't want to follow just anyone I want to follow the one true God and Jesus said of himself that he is the way the truth and the life that no one goes to the Father except through him how incredible is that if we want to go back to being close to God back to how it was in the beginning we need to follow Jesus he is the way to go and today we can make that choice for ourselves Jesus invites us to put on our space boots to put on our shoes to follow the captain Jesus and it's really simple if you want to be a space cadet and follow captain Jesus then I would like to invite you to jump up to your feet right now right where you are jump up to your feet and if you want to follow Jesus you can put your hands out as though you're receiving a gift or a present and if there's anyone in your room who is standing up like this if there's another person there would you like to stand up for me too and I would love for you to pray for that person who is standing and Rick my friend's gonna help me now so if you're wanting to follow Jesus and to be part of his crew you'll be standing just like me with your hands ready but if you want to pray for that person then why you don't you put one hand up to God and the other one out to your friend or your family member and keep your eyes open as you pray and so I would like to invite you if you're standing wanting to be part of God's crew I'd like you to say this prayer in your head or out loud with me Lord Jesus we thank you that you came on a rescue mission for me we thank you that you came as God's Son and you rescued me when you died on the cross I believe in you and I choose now to follow you each and every day amen now if you said that prayer for the first time I want you to know something right now in heaven there's an enormous party because it tells us in the Bible that when one person turns back to being with God there's enormous celebration in heaven and so I'd love it that if you said that prayer today remember to tell someone and if you've been praying for them I want you to continue to pray for them as they continue to walk in the footsteps of Jesus so today we've been thinking about knowledge knowing God knowing Jesus and what he's done for us and that we can follow him we can put on our space boots and follow Jesus each and every day we can meet God at any time and in any place so right where you are right now we can meet with God and that's through his Holy Spirit and we're going to spend some time now encountering God listening to him and chatting to him because God is awesome and amazing he can hear us wherever we are and we can speak to him anywhere that's what's so incredible about God now God we need to remember something about because we need to remember that he is loving and kind and caring and his character never changes so when we spend time with God we need to think about hmm does this sound like something God would say is this in his character is it loving and kind and encouraging and is it for our best interest now we're going to spend some time chatting and catching with God now and we're going to listen out for what he has to say to us now listening with God is different to maybe our teachers or our friends or our family when I listen to my family I can hear them just like you can hear me now but when we hear God he can speak to us in so many different ways because he's so creative in fact he created our bodies to catch from him in many ways we can catch from him in a daydream we can catch from him in a word or a picture we can catch from him when we read the Bible and there are words in there that really suddenly mean something to us we can even catch from him in a feeling and we can feel that he is close to us we might feel warm or comfortable we might have something called peace that seems to rest on us we can even catch from God through our thoughts and our words in our mind so that's what we're going to do right now we're going to chat and catch with God I'd love to encourage all of you to join in with this so why don't you get up from where you are and lie down on your backs and get yourself really comfy now as we're lying down we're going to be chatting with God and the way we're going to do it is I'm going to lead us in some questions and in your heads I'd love for you to ask that question of God or you might want to whisper it into your hands and then we're going to listen for a moment we're going to wait to catch from God what he wants to say and remember that catching from God might be a thought or a daydream or it might be a feeling so we can hear God in many ways so let us get ready come Holy Spirit why don't you tell God your favorite game why don't you tell God your favorite thing to eat why don't you tell God what made you laugh out loud this week why don't you tell God something that makes you sad and now we're going to flip it on its head we're now going to ask our questions and catch his answer so why don't you ask God what's his favorite game ask God what he loves to eat ask God what made him laugh out loud why don't you ask God what makes him sad ask God what he would love for you to do to help with that sad thing ask God what he loves most about you now as we continue to listen to the music we're gonna stay soaking just as we are now stay lying on our backs chatting and catching with God and you can ask him any question that you may have and you can listen out for his answers and as we do that others of you might want to pray for each other you might put one hand up to God and the other hand on the shoulder the person next to you asking God to work through you as you pray for someone else so let's spend time now chatting and catching with God remembering he's always loving and kind and we can continue to do that at any place and at any time and it's like our mission toolkit today we're putting into our minds knowledge of who Jesus is and following him and by following him we can be with him always just as though we just were we can continue to do that any place and at any time and as we were praying I got a thought from God that he was saying this is what he wants for his children for everyone to be able to chat to him and listen to him and to help others to do that too so that's my challenge for you today to go ahead and spend time chatting and catching with God any place at any time and helping others to hear him too and remember we always need to think is this something God would say and if you're sitting there thinking well I didn't hear from God at all I don't think I did hear what he had to say to me well don't you worry because we can keep on keeping on we can keep on following Jesus and trying to listen to him it's a bit like a muscle getting ready for a race we need to keep practicing so keep on going God always wants to speak to us but maybe we need to learn to listen in many different ways hi this is Chet with today's household challenge a challenge that you guys can do at home follow a follower find someone who knows and loves and follows Jesus and follow them around for 1 minute asking them your questions about Jesus and why they follow him and if you want to become a follower of Jesus or have just become one then get them to pray for you we've had an amazing morning here on board the starship explorer learning about Jesus our captain and following him let us jump up to our feet now as we pray that each and every day we get to follow him so Lord Jesus we thank you that we get to wear our space boots following you help us to remember that we get to be with you each and every day amen
