Unexpected Catch Trapping Creek Monsters!

we're just taking a peek at our traps real quick it's probably not going to be any crawfish in them yet so what's up guys we are back with another video before we get started um we've been doing a lot of creek videos and then go down there subscribe the notification bell like this video today we're going to be doing some trapping for some crawdads minnows and other stuff whatever else that you're fishing your little fish pond elite huh yeah today we caught a crawdad this big that's right and its pinchers were this big literally they were big about the size of his body almost so we haven't done any actual crawdad trapping this year and uh some of you long time subscribers will remember that the crawdads are kind of what started the whole creek monster thing like that's probably been three years ago houston and jacob jacoby's not here today we got keaton with us jacob's still around everybody's asking about jacoby he just hasn't been on video in a little while but uh anyways houston and jacoby used to catch these giant crawdads and we call them creek monsters just just what we called them they were just kind of a i don't know there's just huge crawdads but we really really really well first off we want to catch some bait for houston's fish pond but we want to do a crawdad catch clean and cook video oh yeah we haven't really tried catching big crawdads this year we haven't trapped anything we've just been flipping over rocks and catching a few so we're going to take several different traps these umbrella traps are probably the best and they're they don't hold up very well they're kind of junky they're little chinese traps i guess chinese um but they weren't companies they and we've got a regular minnow trap we're gonna set that one out and then this big trap here and we've got uh we got bread we got hot dogs we've got some leftover uh jalapeno sausage might even have a little dog food we're just gonna set out a smorgasbord what'd you do lose your trap you got the strength so we're just gonna set out a whole smorgasbord of traps and baits and everything and let them sit overnight and see if we can catch any crawdads well our bait would catch a dog i know that houston yeah we're going to bait them all up let's just go throw the ones we got out first okay okay before we bait the rest of them up all right the crawdads are gonna try to they're probably gonna be in the more shallow water at night they're gonna come up and try to feed and stuff so don't put those traps out there where it's super deep and see this probably just give it one of those oh already lost part of that hot dog you see that keaton no part of that hot dog shot out of there oh i see it right there oh and there's a bluegill hey i just said don't throw it in the deep water that's the deep spot right through there put that trap like up against the brush pile over there all right got two set out let's go get that uh silver minnow trap that silver one works really good for minnows especially uh it works a lot better than the black ones for whatever reason it's not necessarily a color thing that that silver one seals it goes together better than like the cheap black funnel traps do they already catching crawdads what the hell yeah people already got two oh i see houston's hand those aren't big enough for uh for us to do catch clean and cook plenty big enough for your bass to just do a snatch and grab oh bring it up close closer the crawdads are going to stay up in shallower water yeah something like that crawdads are going to come up to shallow water because they if they go out there too deep and the bass will eat them if they're awake i would say put it right here in this nice still water if you get it out there in the current all your bait will be uh washed out for too long like right in front of me right here buddy it doesn't have to be all under water as long as the uh the openings are underwater it'll be fine turn it just a little bit it's hooked on that rock right there they'll find it i know it's not flat it's okay they'll find it as long as it's in the water there you go it's not going to go anywhere they'll find the bait so i guess y'all are wanting to fish for a few minutes huh yeah somebody eyeballed a big bass in our swimming hole earlier hey your big bass is over here oh my goodness you caught a crappie i have hey i don't know that i've ever seen a crappie come out of this swimming hole that's a first for me i'm not kidding it's my first time ever catching a property really yep that's awesome you're struggling with that pole yeah i thought it was a white bass at first no we're not putting that in your pawn we're just going to let him go back in the swimming hole i don't want to put that big crappie in there he'll be a lot of competition for all your bass that's freaking awesome man yeah i've never seen a crappie caught out of here i mean i know they're in the lake but i've just never seen them this far up the creek he changed tactics so it wasn't getting anything on the uh on the jig so houston caught us a crawdad he got him a little channel cat that might actually be a bull head right there right there crawdad's still in his mouth oh yeah head for sure he's biting the fire out of me i didn't bring any pliers houston because i wasn't planning on fishing oh can we save the crawdad for another fish ouch ouch bullheads bite hard man i've used some a fresh crawdad we cost him up there next to the damn we're just putting a crawdad on a jig heads all we're doing but uh it works doesn't it just let him sit there for a minute keaton's trying to find him another crawdad i may help him real quick let me know if you get a bite houston lost his jig we're gonna we're just taking a peek at our traps real quick it's probably not gonna be any crawfish in them yet this one's loaded with bluegill already though i bet there's probably 12 or 15 little bluegill in there already we'll leave them there that one's got some hot dog and some bread and some there's no dog food in that it's got bigger holes dog food won't work but i think the other net trap over there looked like it had a few bluegill in it all right boys wow that was uneventful you threw him out there where there are no fish all right we'll see you guys in the morning that's what i see i see a trap you see a trap yeah i hope there's some crawdads in it yeah really gemma i know where i'm not gonna walk right there where jimmy's at don't walk right there gemma left you a surprise oh hershey's kisses well you think you caught any crawdads last night yeah and creek monsters i'm sure there's a lot of bluegill in there at least several maybe not a lot but what do you got no products hey do we have a we don't have a bucket what are we doing we should brought a bucket so we could at least throw them in the pond right yeah so we forgot a bucket we could have at least brought a bucket to put everything that we catch in the bass pond not not houston's little fish pond but these uh i think this is a long-eared sunfish right here keaton they are so pretty houston's got a couple of those in his little pond that one's even prettier yeah let's let him go though he's there there's a bunch of those like that in this creek so let's go check the other traps well let's see if houston has lost his touch and catching crawdads anything in this trap some minnows a bunch of tiny bluegill yeah no crawdads no crawdads well get the bucket and we'll at least get the bluegill and take them to the bass pond a couple blue yell and a few little minnows no crawdads there huh what the heck that's rare me and you were just shoving them up on the bank uh huh throw the hot dogs out and let them have the hot dogs and the bread [Music] and we'll just dump them in there lean it back lean it back there you go well we put out four traps last night and so far we're oh for two zero crawdads caught so far but uh we got the two better ones are still out the ones i actually have a little bit more higher hopes for over here by this brush pile so we'll see pull that green one in first think there's any crawdads in this one houston maybe does it feel heavy got a turtle in there and that's it turtle and a couple bluegill ate all of them i bet you probably ate all the mr turtle you think he ate all the crawdads huh it's a big red eared slider houston we'll set him in the water and see if he takes off he's going to be bashful there he goes i think that's a boy he's just gonna think he's hiding right there huh get out of here well two bluegill last night when we checked that trap before we left i bet there was what 12 or 15 bluegill in it there were several all right you're over three we did catch a big red earth slider turtle though let's see we checked this one before we left yesterday and i showed it on camera there was a bunch of little bluegill in it but the longer these traps that the easier it is for the fish to figure their way out so zero products zero hmm we're about to find a better creek if you want to do a crawdad catch clean and cook video or find a better hole that's got some crawdads in it and you're down to what four fish we let them set too long it's a pretty one mm-hmm can't put them in the middle bucket that's all we got well houston totally not what you were hoping for but guess what hey keaton caught a big old crappie out of our swimming hole yesterday that is not what we were expecting to catch i mean i'll take that as a win even though you can't seem to catch any crawdads we know they're in the creek because we catch them by hand we just haven't mastered trapping broad edge yet so we tried dog food hot dogs sausages bread and uh we we could sure catch an earl with the uh with this bait because he likes it but hey i'll take it as a win if we catch them crappie out of the creek i wish we'd catch a bunch more of those you know what i say we go release these uh in the bass pond and put straps away you sure look bummed out man smile you're not in school you're hanging out on the creek got your creek life gear on and you act all bummed out we'll find some crawdads somewhere [Music] i totally agree with that we have not done a bass fishing video over here in months i know you need to we fished earlier this spring some but uh [Music] we didn't have near the luck bass fishing over here that we typically do and i don't know if that was due to the the hard freeze we had back in february when we had like six inches of ice on the pond for a couple weeks or otters possibly got in here i know we've been having some problems with blue herons herons blue herons are just they rush along the creek and there's just way too dang many blue herons but they're kind of protected we can't really just take care of those like i'd like to but we do need to do a bass fishing video over here pretty soon houston we haven't done that we matter of fact we even bought all the stuff earlier this spring to tag some bass we were watching some videos on lojo and brandon jordan both were tagging their fish and i thought that was a great idea so we could tag the bass and then if we caught them a year or two later we could see how much they're growing and compare them and all that stuff just uh the nerd number side of me thought that'd be a good idea but the ain't got started on that yet but anyways let's release all these little bluegill before they die in your in your mental bucket yep you sure look bummed out you need to cheer up it's too early in the morning for you that's what i think the deal is so how many uh bluegill did we end up with probably 12 15 something like that houston says eight i guarantee there's more than eight in that bucket all right just let them go i think there's one crawdad that y'all caught in there in there yeah keaton caught one little crawdad just put him in here something'll eat him hey smile i am you act like somebody shot your puppy [Music] hey hey you jumped up rufus what are you doing bro looking skinny nice haircut so this was not a successful day we did not get any crawdads not any and so besides the big croc b out of the swimming hole especially that that was crazy bella can you quit your painting and go somewhere else come on now and so if you have any tips for us please do it we're not professionals or anything
