advance your life and discover your purpose now let's go into the message focus today which is understanding the nature of law understanding the nature of law what is happening to my life is a result of keeping laws you obey God's laws things come to you you disobey God lawyers things move away from you so our focus today is understanding what the nature of law we want to zero in on why law is necessary and I'm very cautious with this series because every time you hear the word law in the context of the traditional evangelical Christian doctrine you become afraid so I want to clean that up during this series I want to show you without a doubt that God does not operate outside of laws God is a God of law let's begin with a few statements I wanted to make a note of number one the purpose and the passion of God for you and all of mankind is a very simple one he wanted to establish his heavenly kingdom on earth we keep repeating that and I will do it till I die until I'm recalled number two a kingdom is not a religion a kingdom is a country and countries are built on law all countries the Kingdom of Heaven is the first country in existence it's invisible but it precedes every other nation in existence it's the first country in existence created by God himself and heaven operates on laws if you don't believe me then explain why Lucifer was ejected he violated law you don't try to be God every angel the Bible says has a state the word state means position and Satan whose name was Lucifer at that time was responsible for the department of culture the Bible talks about Lucifer being the director of music and also director of sound in heaven he was in charge of culture he was a responder for the atmosphere in heaven and I want to warn those of you who are in the area of culture because culture requires visibility when you are involved in culture where this dance or music or public speaking or any kind of artistic work you will notice that you are always up front and that can go to your head because people begin to look at you and you begin to hear their response and you get confused and you think it's about you this is why most of our entertainers keep falling whether it is in the church or in the secular environment they keep falling because when you are on the stage there's a temptation to believe that it's about you and God will pull the rug quickly so there's law in heaven you don't violate the laws of position nations are built on law and number five and before you listening watching living in a kingdom requires submission to law so to live in the kingdom of God you must submit to law as you do in all countries why do you stop at a stop sign that is submission you hold in your hand perhaps a hundred and fifty horsepower under your engine you get the power to run that light but why do you stop it's called submission submission always implies the presence of power this is why God told the woman to submit to the man it's a sign that the woman is perhaps more powerful than the man and the greatest mistake men make is to believe they are more powerful than a woman if you don't believe me study history and see wood destroyed most of the leaders of men they miscalculated the power of the woman if you don't believe me ask Adam AK Samson ask Joseph she made him run with his clothes off submission therefore indicates that you have the prowl to break a law the reason why there's a break in your car the breaks is proof that you have power the only way you live on earth successfully is to use your brakes your life must be under control the Bible calls it self discipline discipline means you get the power to break law so all nations operate on law and the citizens must obey submit to and they must be under law in order for the country to be orderly if everybody ran the red light can you use your imagination there would be chaos in our country thou shalt not steal it's a law if everybody walked into your house off the street and start taking your furniture and your food and walking out of the house there'll be chaos it's called home invasion law preserves the country write this down number 5 law is the key to successful living in all nations show me a country that is deteriorating and I will show you a country where the citizens are disobeying the law stop cursing law law is the greatest gift God gave to creation what keeps planets from colliding is law what keeps this earth spinning on its axis is law what keeps you standing upright it's the law of gravity everything has to do with law and if you violate law you go to a 10-story building and tell gravity i defy you gravity will do its job you will be recalled I want to show you a scripture that you never saw before at least you thought you saw it before it's found in Luke chapter 16 everyone turned their place a statement made by Jesus concerning the permanence of law which means that law will never go away don't you ever think that grace came to cancel law grace came to magnify the keeping of law which we will discuss later in this series but look at the words of Jesus Christ concerning the law he says the law and the prophets were proclaimed up until who John okay fine then John came what did he bring he introduced the kingdom and the king so it says since that time the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached and everyone is forcing their way into the kingdom they're trying to find it okay so we are excited about the kingdom becoming Kingdom citizens we excited but getting what you call saved but it's really citizenship and you are excited about being saved by grace now Jesus knows us very well he's the king he says look I'm gonna bring you into my kingdom again look at that statement I'm preaching the good news of the country of God again but he puts this statement quickly he said it is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the law what's he doing he's balancing quickly I'm gonna give you the kingdom but you better keep the law I'm gonna give you grace but you better keep the law I'm going to give you salvation but you better keep the law look at his words again he says the good news of the kingdom is being preached however it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away before one stroke of the pen is moved from the law in other words thou still shall not commit adultery thou still shall not bear false witness thou still shall not work 7 days and kill yourself please rest 1 it's a law look at another statement law and principles everybody write quickly this is an important slide here law and principles protect products when you buy a CD player a telephone a refrigerator a car they always send with those products a little booklet that booklet is a law book it tells you what to do and not to do with the product it tells you how the product functions it tells you how to make sure it functions successfully it also tells you what they call cautions every manual has a page called caution caution means don't do this thou shalt not operate this iron near water thou shalt not put thy finger in the socket when thou puts the iron in the socket thou shalt not take the iron and put it in a tub while you are in the tub and is plugged in in other words that thou shalt not vouch we hate thou shalt nots but it's the DAO shalt nots that protect us but don't get me wrong every manual also has thou shalt thou shalt plug it in now a turn it on thou shalt die in it right now shalt position it properly all the dials are there but also the DAO shalt nots are there and what we have missed in our lives is we tryin to live in the kingdom of God so much on grace we violate the laws of it law protects everybody say it law protects you know when I was a young teenager my mother and father was so rough on us but they were making sure that we were law-abiding citizens chastisement correction and punishment is protection we don't have any enough of that in families anymore we got parents discussing things with kids negotiating with teenagers are you crazy my mother had a fantastic forehand he could hit you around the corner and you asked who hit me and she's in the kitchen she knew how to apply reminders that there are laws in this house and the reason why people break law in society is because never kept a law in their home law protects number to write this down law and principles preserve the product if it tells you to change the oil in your car every 5,000 miles it's trying to tell you to preserve your engine now Bohemians are very interesting people they ignore the manufacturer they will drive a car into the ground you talk about change oil are you crazy there's a little white paper on the door of your car when you open it round up door every car has it and it has some little notes and it has the dates on it some of you never read that before that's you women brown just close the door go that little piece of paper that stuck there it's supposed to preserve your car because on it it has the laws of transmission and oil change and your car was supposed to last for 15 years but it lasts for 10 because you violated the laws you did not preserve the car by obedience to law number three write this down law and principles serve the product when you receive law from a manufacturer it actually serves the product it keeps the product for you this is why the manual exists the manual is designed to protect and preserve and to serve the product when God gives us his laws those laws serve us they don't hurt us they don't take away from us they add to us that leads me the number four laws and principles guarantee product function if you want your light to function efficiently then study the laws of the manufacturer that made you if you want your stove or your car or your CD player to function properly then you must study the laws of the manufacturer there is something that happens with manuals every time we buy a product that little book is on top and we can't wait to get to the TV right we grabbed a book and throw it on the side and we start taking on styrofoam just going in there and we grabbed that flat screen yes and what do we do straight to the plug poof and then we start experimenting trying to find channels why because all the instructors are on the floor we ignore the laws provided by the manufacturer where law is absent experimentation is necessary this is important law guarantees effective function number five laws and principles simplify product operation a boy says simplicity boy this one's important say loud simplicity as a big word a simplicity laws simplify life young people I beg you to listen to Pastor miles listen to me life is not complicated I came through my teenage years without regrets I don't have memories that I don't like to remember there are some memories you have that you always try to hide because you are so ashamed of them because you violated some law ten years ago God gives you laws so you'll enjoy your memories laws simplify life what midnight symphony is I read the law book very early 14 years old I read the whole Bible took me a whole year didn't understand hardly none of it but I understood enough for me to keep my pants on and the more I kept reading that law the more of the law got inside of me the Bible says how can a young man keep his way pure by adhering to the laws of God it says don't trust your friends they are not the law matter of fact they got their own laws they'll make you obey you need to stay with the manufacturer's book and say I want to study the law I'm 16 but I want to know the law I'm 20 but I want to know the law I'm 35 I want to know the law I'm 42 years old I won't know the law I'm 52 I study know the law I'm 69 I need to know the law because the law will make life simple let me give an example we can example okay did your car in the parking lot was made by manufacturer law of operating your car is called gasoline am i right yeah that's built-in no ones are built-in now if your car is running out of gasoline do you need to pray no do you need to fast do you need some prophets to prophesy do you need some tapes and CDs from TD jakes and Joyce Meyer do you need to attend a conference in California know if your car is a balloon of the gas life is simple what is it find a station and put some in you've got to have it simplifies life the reason why we are confused about daily decisions is because we don't know the laws of daily life do you know what to do in every situation that's the question I will soon begin an early morning session for the whole church and only those who are really hungry gonna show up I'm gonna do a series of about six weeks on the laws of relationships because we're messing up we don't know how to get along with people including our spouses and some of you are victims of law confusion you are divorced because both you didn't know the laws of how to live together and don't sit around saying you don't need to come you need to come we have this idea that we are old enough oh yeah I've known people who got divorced after 40 years of marriage you think you're safe simplify life learn the laws number six make a note law and principles brings peace and confidence this is very important laws and principles bring peace and confidence okay your car is on e you don't get upset you know where to go right you stay peaceful there's a station no problem you pull in your confidence is I know what I'm doing is right I believe gasoline it brings peace I know what to do and confidence I'm doing the right thing confidence I'm doing the right thing peace I know what to do if you don't know what to do you panic oh my god and then your blood pressure goes up your free radical cells take over and you get gross and throat ouma's and I get cancer because of stress why the law could have protected you from sickness if you know what to do and what you're doing is right you live a peaceful life so lack of law creates turmoil and stress when you know the law you can go to sleep and rest always be calm because you know that you are following the law and we put it another way when you ran your last red light don't look now someone's watching do you remember how you felt you start checking the back rearview mirror now why are you so nervous what's wrong and your blood pressure goes up your heartbeat start racing and your whole body's under stress why he did one thing really one thing you did it was so simple just ran the red light and now your whole body goes into all kinds of dysfunction because you violated law especially in the United States when a Bahamian is on vacation and they're driving in Orlando on them slowly streets in there in Florida and they know they violate the speed limit they keep checking checking why you check it and then they see a police car passing the other side you HOT stop bubu bubu and they go oh my god it's over why is so much stress you violated law it says 65 you get an 85 and then they pray in the name of Jesus not to get caught it's amazing that we use Jesus to break the law the lower bridge what peace if you drive in 65 miles per hour and a police car passes you feel nothing just peace this is why you feel guilty when you're sinning the police is passing his name is the Holy Spirit he brings what we call conviction conviction gives you stress he won't have a good life happy life all the time just do right all the time the problem is we don't know what right is because we haven't studied the law be with me all year pass Richard and I are gonna teach you the laws of God I'm gonna go through this entire four Gospels and pull out the major laws to live forever a good time why if you learn the basic laws life is a smidge easy to live my life is simple I'm having a good time for 35 years why I just kept every morning and pay the same laws they stopped in the red lights I go on the green I say hello to everybody I'm nice to people I don't think eve of nobody I love my enemies I give I pay my tithes I am faithful to my wife I love my kids I just basic Lois woman wink at me I tell are you crazy that's a law i / the law brothers say Amen loud woman you crazy and I want you like white better than you go that's a law you got to keep that law clap right there that's a no don't and all the laws are important and I know I'm good-looking look at me you know I'm good-looking you fooled me right down number seven laws and principles protect against experimentation if you know law you don't need to experiment experimentation is a sign that you don't know the laws life should not be an experiment you shouldn't be trial and error your way through life I hope this works I believe it might work what are you doing and number eight laws and principles are the enemy of fear as that one whenever you know laws and principles fair doors away if you follow the laws of life you'll never be afraid once you give for example away from yourself did you give that's a hard thing to teach because it's so difficult for people to believe if you just give the Bible says give and it shall be given to you multiply it's more blessed to give it's a law but it's so hard to do for some of us we are professional expect us we love to expect things I'm expecting a miracle I'm expecting a bless I'm respect what have you done to expect it it's a law you don't go reaping where you did not sow you can't expect a harvest if you didn't plant seed it's a no somehow we just believe we can violate the law God's gonna bless me what did you do to guarantee the blessing some of you came here and gave no offering this one I mean just offering and and you and you got that two dollars in your pocket let me tell you something all Roberts taught me something here's my pop never forget him he said look he says if it cannot meet your need turn it into a seed say that with me wait day something if you get a kernel of corn you got a choice you can boil it or plant it you take your 5 bucks that you have this morning and you go straight from here to Kentucky Fried Chicken and buy a special box the problem is you just meant your need for six hours if you gave it to God you made your knees for six years but we can't get that it's hard to get it's a move no is the enemy of fear once you know you gave it to God then you can go sleep God's working on my behalf he's working on my behalf something's happening I don't know what it is but I already connected that law let me tell you what I've been telling my wife for years every time we give an offering I will tell my wife be protecting our future I say it every time I give be protecting our future every time I give an offering I didn't pay atai be protecting our future I connect it to my future I cannot afford not to give my mother used to say before she died my sisters would tell you we had this everyday mother say if you give not me God and multiply not me and give you a lot of nothing whatever you give shall be multiplied back to you so you give nothing this morning get ready for a lot more of nothing God can't multiply which you never gave up if you gave nothing he can multiply that you gonna have worst condition the Prophet Elisha another story the woman had two meals left and then she says we will eat these and die woman already had a future worked out and I just showed up he was not poor nor broke but God said him to create a chain reaction for this woman's life and he said give me a meal first not always activate God and she gave some of you may have to give more offering this morning I don't need your money now I'm not talking with your money the most I pass them out big enough but I'm saying is you're sitting here and you sat there and you're ready calculated but you cannot give you kind of taken your place you hold it in your wallet tight you can't wait to get out of here because you want to take that do something else and God is saying didn't I tell you to give that gun ain't no use to you right now five bucks can't pay your light bill put it in the ground it's the law never eat your seed plant it giving is the only area where God says test me you know why because it's hard to do is it just me prove me in other words walk on this place with nothing in your pocket i day he said he suggest me I'll embarrass you with blessings but it's a more and it's a hard one because we love to have what we can see not what God promised it takes faith to obey God's laws so what does this mean then for wisdom look at this very important write this down knowledge of laws and principles are the source of wisdom people think of smart something think that I'm intelligent others think that I am full of revelation I am NOT I am simply I have a good memory i memorize the laws of God that's all David says if I hide your laws in my heart I will become wiser than my teachers the felt the Lord is beginning of wisdom okay now let me break that down to practical terms the fear of the Lord is what the beginning of wisdom what does it mean to fear the Lord it means stopping at the red lights if you don't fear the laws of the Bahamas we are in trouble if we don't fear the governor of Bahamas laws the confusion this world countries in trouble fear brings order when you fear the law do you know why the church is so corrupt and so immoral the fear of God has left the church we got sinners preaching in the pulpit every Sunday we got demons in the choir we got and the organ we got stuff in the church and everybody still clapping you know what the preacher doing you know he's sleeping with is it causally sleeping with and you know his wife and bottom sit in the same church and you still in the church no fear of God if there's no fear there's no respect I told you all what God said he said this year he's taking no prisoners some of you already seen some things happening you know my friend brother Benny are getting ready to chop at him you know you said are they hiding nobody I don't what you got I come in at she says I'm protecting nobody no more fix yourself in secret otherwise I'm gonna make it public stop disobeying my law give God a hand he is going to expose everybody I'm calling names because you need to be in fear I don't know what you're doing right now but it better be holy because we all gonna find out I guarantee it god it's gonna move the cover from every ants nests that which is done in secret he says shall be made known from the rooftops so make sure your secret life is good enough for public consumption if you are ashamed of what you're doing stop now now don't forget I gave you this warning make a note knowledge of laws and principles produce boldness when you know the law and you know how to do it you are confident bow that's why I dr. principles that make them function I know the secrets to life and when you know the laws of God you can walk boldly in life without being intimidated by anybody because the law of God is always right that means you'll always be right even if they don't agree with you you will still be right law of the Lord is right Psalm 1:19 says always right so don't bring your opinion to life learn the laws write this down please wisdom is laws and principles applied a wise person is someone who knows the law and applies them to their lives that's a wise person so therefore it's important to remember that laws and principles are more important than power I am afraid of powerful people who have no principles because they will use that power to destroy principles protect power it gives power legitimacy it makes power have authority to function therefore if a person has no restrictions in their lives and they get power you are in danger follow people who have principles don't follow powerful people you know sometimes it's tempting you know you meet a young lady she got a good job in the bank she walking around with a briefcase BMW powerful young woman I hear you are you are a cop and don't you think you know well boy I gave me a big catch here and she ain't got no principles you are in trouble you see there's power in a skirt without principles you meet a man perfect guys got an awesome job CEO in charge of everything got all this money and these nice cars and here you are you're desperate that's power even has a power tie on poverty is this sharp guy but he has no principles what you gonna do he asks you to sleep with him before you are married that's power without principles your first response I think I made a mistake excuse me leave my presence I thought you had principles I thought it was some laws in your life to protect me from you and you from me laws are more important than power and so we find this interesting statement Matthew 5:17 Jesus said and this is a scripture for the whole year do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets I have not come to abolish the law but to fulfill the law Jesus is speaking he is the king of the country I didn't come to replace law with grace don't misunderstand me don't even think that I've come to destroy the law or the prophets I came to fulfill them and then he says I tell you the truth until heaven and earth pass away not the smallest letter of the law written by the pen will be disappearing from the law it will not change everything God's book will stay in fact it will come to pass God says don't you dare attempt to live in my kingdom without law law has rewards said what is the good stuff right here say it again law has rewards just give me ten more minutes so tambour in the finish at 1:30 okay hey boys in laws have rewards oh I wish I could just jump in your lap and kiss you that's deep stuff right there laws have rewards in other words if you plant a seed you don't have to pray the plant comes up hey you're not amazing once you're better law is a natural result oh dear laws of life cancel the need for prayer that's too deep you are not supposed to be praying for food and clothes and water crisis take no thought of these things so then what are you preparing for see Kieffer's the country of God and remaining in right standing with the laws and these things automatically are added the word Christ used is automatically arrives in other words if you got a label for blessings you are in religion but I'm holding faith I'm holding faith for this car more than faith I believe in God for this car I'm holding faith yes sir devil loose my car I bind the devil's I loose the devil there's everyone buying or loose will I loose that fire I my cars coming to me praise the Lord yes I believe God my cars coming yeah I believe God that's worried just activate a law give and say Lord this is toward a car and then go to sleep [Applause] no destroys work how's that for shock religious law makes you work Kingdom law makes you rest this is why religion is so tiring you gotta keep all these rituals they make you tie it crisis come unto me all you are heavy laden with all these pharmaceutical laws and I will give you rest take my yoke upon you my yoke is easy my burden is light keep the commandments of the Lord he says it's automatic ok write this down before we quit anybody do not think do not think means I wrote I wrote it down I did all the research on this word it means do not consider do not imagine he said do not even dream I've come to destroy the law do not think that I have don't assume that I came to destroy the law do not suggest that I came to destroy the law do not even entertain the idea that I came to destroy the law do not think nor conceive in your thoughts that I came to destroy the law he says I didn't come to abolish I didn't come to destroy or set aside or invalidate or cancel or eradicate the law why was he so emphatic about this because he knew that religion would sneak into his kingdom and begin to make people believe that they can live on grace alone the word grace is the word karissa CH R is a Carissa write that down it's a Greek word used in the New Testament the word grace means what is Carissa Carissa charismatic Kara's it means ability ability grace means to be given the ability the question is to do what grace is given to give you the ability to keep law because you cannot keep it without grace oh this is so important do you know that all the lawyers here will tell you that there are two laws in every law there's one call the letter of the law then there's the spirit of the law the Bible says the letter killeth why it becomes a ritual but the spirit given life it becomes application the meaning is put back into it so Jesus Christ says I didn't come to destroy the law I came to fulfill matter of fact let's look at that wherefore feel real quick Matthew 13 52 I caught this scripture when I was flying back yesterday you know I meditate on everything God teaching me all the time always thinking about it and this scripture jumped out at me and jesus said therefore every teacher of the law who has been instructed about what the kingdom of heaven is like an owner of a house watch this who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as all treasures we call this again every teacher of what the law that means you you keep the laws of God if you are instructed in the Kingdom that's the return of God's government in your life will be a person who brings new things and all things to life okay listen to me this is so good I feel like jumping he's saying look when you get born again you so glad you got the Holy Spirit you've run up and down get excited yeah I'm saying he said good he said but now you don't throw away the old stuff they'll still shalt not steal you see there better be worse he said look the kingdom gives you new life he said but the new life doesn't destroy the old laws now shifts that not still just run up they're false witness you still shut up commit adultery you still not kill freedom without law is anarchy I cannot teach the kingdom of God without teaching the law of God that's what I say the new experiences you've been restored back to God that's the new experience in salvation but the old part is now you can keep the laws I've given you the ability to keep the law that's why the Holy Spirit lives in you do you know who the Holy Spirit is the Holy Spirit is a lawyer the Bible calls him the counselor is the exact word used in the Bible for lawyer his job is to help you understand the law so you can keep it that's why you feel conviction conviction is the lawyer working hard the lawyer saying no no don't do that no no no that's that's not the thing don't don't break that law that's called conviction here you are about to do something and you feel guilty that's the law kicking in it's the Holy Spirit saying look based on the document you can't do this but guess what you can still press the accelerator and run that red light all of us live a temptation every day I remember one time I was going home I stopped at the red light down there and prospect Ridge and there was no car coming now y'all never did it I know you all are holy people I stood there and I sat there and the red light just turned and there was nothing made in the evening and I looked left and right and this spirit spoke to me and said look ain't no car coming anyhow no one will see that you run the red light and I heard a voice in my car it says but I will we forget about the government God says I will write my laws on your mind so that you will need no man to tell you do this or do that anymore and I stood there at the red light with deep conviction wearing my car trying to control myself sometimes you got to do that like jaws and drop your clothes it sometimes gets close you know it gets close maybe some young people sometimes said that set themselves up after the carnival they go down by the beach just to see the ocean we didn't want to watch the ocean that's all and then someone says I'm cold come close to warm me up see and you got this stuff going on and all of a sudden the lawyer wakes up and the lawyer says you know I think you better go home now you tell the lawyer in a few minutes and you keep going the Bible says he who was tempted he's tempted because he's drawn away by his own lust and when lust has conceived it brings forth sin as soon as complete it brings forth death this is this is no mystery it's the law at work the the new salvation doesn't destroy the old laws it destroys religious laws religion can kill you but not the laws of God new and old so I put it to you that Jesus said this about making sure to make sure them the law is by itself here's a verse you never saw before getting write this one down Matthew 23 verse 13 verse 23 then jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples who do you speaking to both of them that means this is for everybody he said the teachers of the law are you gonna like this one those who teach the law of God like the Pharisees they sit in Moses seat he says in other words if they read the laws that God gave Moses better the next eight month he says you must obey them don't do what they do what is he doing he is purifying the Lord he's saying look even if a demon say thou shalt not steal that's the truth now don't be like the demon but do it a demon said cuz the demon just said the law of God this also means then that when you say things like we are a Christian country it doesn't mean everybody is a Christian what it means is the country has decided to live according to the laws and principles of God even if the person who's quoting them ain't safe the law is good but the priests in England how's he talking about in other words the law is more powerful than the person who's quoting it the law is pure by itself he says obey them and do everything they tell you but do not do what they do for they do not practice what they are preaching a powerful statement a listen to them but don't follow them can I say it again listen if they quote the word but don't follow them this is why you know there are some people I can associate with they quote the Word of God I said yeah that's the truth but I can't be with you you don't practice what you preach I can't be with you you can't do what you do this is why some people gotta leave some churches now because they know that people who are quoting the law ain't living the Lord a quotient God says you can't be with them and sometimes they've hold it so nice make a shout thou shalt not commit adultery hey you get excited and you know they sleeping around tell them hear you right but I'm gon come on clap right there cuz some pose did it get out get out of those places they're not practicing what they are preaching jesus said in this place we want to keep God's law amen well I think it's 1:26 yeah three more minutes here's a passing miles please okay this last one great is down the law means the original precepts and principles of going that's the law it doesn't mean rituals it means the standards God set for all creation you're going to keep those prophets means the individuals who declare them Christ says I didn't come to destroy the law or the prophets I
