hey guys what's up it's jrcuber and in this video we have a really exciting unboxing from a puzzle builder named seth in here are six custom 3d printed puzzles that i'm super excited to show you guys so let's go ahead and get into it [Music] okay so here are the six puzzles this one says open last carefully so i'll save this for last so let's just go ahead and start with this one okay so here is the puzzle wow um this is cool so this kind of looks like a mixture of a skewb with like a rex cube or something like that so this puzzle is called the raptor skewb so let's go ahead and see how it moves so i'm assuming you can do skew turns yep so how else i'm assuming corner turns yep look at that wow that is awesome and i don't think it can move any other way wow this looks great so this is a fully 3d printed puzzle of course and you can definitely hear that in the turning quality this is very very reminiscent of old shapeways puzzles this is exactly what they sounded like i wonder if it's i think it might be the same kind of printing which i believe is sls printing it's a much much higher quality print so i think of the ones that he sent i i have a feeling this one's going to be more so on the easier side of solving difficulty so i i'm hoping that i should be able to figure it out it's basically just a corner turning puzzle but with two different uh depths basically so you have this depth here right and then there's this depth that goes all the way through the middle of the puzzle so you can see there's kind of like four layers sort of in a way so i'm trying to think about how this is going to solve and what i'm thinking is that it's probably going to be best to reduce it to a skew so what i'm thinking is that you could probably solve the centers kind of like a rex cube and then you could solve these corners as well just by doing three cycles maybe something like that where you could move pieces out of the way i don't know but i'm thinking uh doing a skewb reduction would uh probably be the best way to go well yeah this is a great looking puzzle let's go ahead and see what else we got wow look at that that looks so beautiful so this one is called the flower copter octahedron plus so i think there is like a standard version of this without the plus added to it which i think just has less cuts so this one is basically just a more advanced version so uh it looks like this does edge turns yep that would be implied in the copter part of the name and then i assume that we break up these pieces with the bandaging turns so we can do standard bandaging moves like this and then of course we can break up these pieces like that and then how do we break up these well breaking up these three pieces from these three is pretty intuitive but i'm not sure how to take it a step further really unless is there another way that this moves i really don't think so oh my gosh there is oh my gosh i figured it out it's also face turning oh wow oh my gosh look at that oh my god [Music] oh my god the turning of this ones also has the same kind of feeling this one's a little bit harder to move but i would imagine with a puzzle like this that has added complexity you would want it to be a bit tighter so that the pieces don't move around as much but it's still definitely very very turnable like it's not a huge hassle to turn or anything all right this one's also super awesome but we have four more to go so let's go ahead and do another cubic one this one's quite a bit bigger oh my gosh what is this this looks so cool so this one is called the flower copter skewb plus oh my gosh this is amazing it's it's very large but as you can see there are tons of very very small pieces this is extremely intricate and it looks like there's a lot of different ways in which it can turn so for one i'm pretty sure you can do full skew turns all the way through the middle of the puzzle yep there we go oh that's a bit rough it looks like it may need to just be broken in a bit though it can also do edge turns as you can see like this so we can do edge turns there and then i think you can also do another type of corner turn yeah look at that you can do another corner turn there wow okay so this one definitely seems like the most unstable of the ones that i've seen so far and i mean that is very understandable but it's making me question whether or not a full solve is going to be possible so this kind of seems similar to this one in that you can turn uh in this shallow corner cut as well as this big wider scube cut but this one also introduces edge turning into the whole mix i am really really doubtful though of my ability to solve this puzzle i really wanted to do kind of like a video series on these puzzles where i uh solved each of them in their own individual video but i don't know if i'm gonna be able to do this one it's hard enough to turn when it's solved i'm just worried that when it's fully scrambled i mean especially when it's all jumbled there's going to be little pieces sticking up everywhere seth even told me that this is one he himself has not solved yet this has got to be the coolest looking one by far though this is so beautiful i love how you can see different patterns of different puzzles depending on how you look at it right if you look at this as a corner and this has a corner and this is a corner and then this is a big center you see a skewb but you can also see curvy copter pieces right where you have corner corner corner corner and then your petal pieces here but then of course there's all these petals too which kind of makes it look like a flower almost you know wow well this is a great looking puzzle i'm not sure about its solvability but uh you know i'll give it a shot all right let's go ahead and move on let's go ahead and do this one i this one kind of seems like a ball but i don't think it is all right here is the puzzle this one is called the icosa octahedron star v2 and this one's definitely a lot more compact um but still looks just as beautiful so let's go ahead and see all the ways in which this can turn it looks like we can do turns here so we can turn like this and and then i think we can do yep we can do kind of like face turns like this i wonder if you can jumble this puzzle like if i do a 180 degree turn here uh yes you can turn here okay interesting wow um again i have no clue how in the world i'm gonna solve this so it looks like with these sides uh it doesn't really work doing any kind of kind of 90 degree turn i'm sure that's not the actual amount of degrees but it looks like you have to kind of go all the way around and then you can start swapping pieces out with these faces so it doesn't look like i can turn here but i can turn here interesting and then let's see can i turn here like that yes huh interesting interesting oh okay i'm going too far i'm going too far i don't want to scramble it oh man i i can see the point of no return coming very soon man this dude does not miss these are such awesome designs alright we've got one more before the mystery puzzle so let's go ahead and check that out seth are you good bro how are you coming up with these designs this is what is this okay i thought i thought that this one was gonna be like the most intricate one no he just topped himself i just want to know how long it took to design these what okay so this can do edge turns it looks like it can also do more uh shallow cut corner turns as well oh yeah this one also has some some very very delicate turning looks like if i turn too roughly these pieces start to pop out so this one's called the flower copter extreme and basically what seth described it as is a maximization of how many unbandaging cuts you can do so i want to kind of try just starting to jumble this a little bit again this one i'm very very wary of scrambling i don't know if i will just because it's very it seems very very delicate and very easy for pieces to pop out so that would be kind of a nightmare with pieces sticking out everywhere if one popped out i don't think i would be able to really know where it would go or how to put it back together can you like offset these corner turns and then do jumbling move somewhere oh yeah okay there we go so you can you can offset these edges by a little bit and then still rotate the corners that is truly awesome all right well this is the last one before the mystery puzzle and i'm really excited to see what that is so let's go ahead and check that one out oh there's a note so it says 2jrcuber this is a five color specter cube which was designed where each piece is the mirror image to the piece on the opposite side of the puzzle also there are three pairs of edges which can be swapped while all others have only one solid state resulting in a possible parody i think i need to read that again that sounds difficult but i don't think i fully get it i haven't a clue what's going on here but i'll act like i do p.s this puzzle is a gift for you to keep as a thank you for inspiring me to get into solving puzzles and eventually designing my own unique puzzle also thanks for agreeing to check out some of my puzzles oh my gosh thank you so much i had no idea that that uh my videos were such an inspiration that that really means a lot thank you so much well here's what the puzzle looks like uh wow this one's actually surprisingly really really light uh that's really cool um okay so my first impression was that this looks like a ghost cube but it's definitely different than a ghost cube and interestingly this is basically stickerless all these pieces are printed with a different color material i really really like the feel of these 3d printed puzzles they definitely feel really neat and so this still basically is the same idea as a ghost cube you have to misalign the layers in order to turn the other axes so we have to do something like that and now we can turn these sides and it looks like you made it in 2016. wow well i think of all the puzzles here this one is probably the only one that i'm going to be able to solve in this video so let's go ahead and scramble it up and see if i can do it all right that looks like a pretty good scramble so i'm gonna go ahead and start with one of the centers that i know is not in the middle layer which is this center and this center um so with these we need basically green pieces on either side so this one here matches with this center so let's see if i if i flip this edge if it'll match on the other side so nope that one's not it uh does that does that work none of these other edges are working so i think it's got to be this one uh yep that one fits all right so there we have our full cross so uh i think these two corners are the red ones i guess we can just start testing out different corners that one does okay so there's a fit so now we need another one over here all right that's a match as well now we need orange corners over here yep there we go that one fits uh yup that one fits it looks like we have this layer solved i hope that all of the right pieces are here as for the middle layer okay so this doesn't quite match with this center here so let's see if i can find one that does oh what is that i think that match is there okay so this needs to either rotate down to here or or down to here i guess we can do a test by rotating the center ah there we go okay so let's go ahead and rotate this center 180 we already have these three pieces up so let's just move them out of the way and then come on one two turn those back turn that back down okay so now we know that this needs to turn down to here so this center needs to rotate 90 degrees so let's turn this up yeah that matches so let's do 180 degree turn turn this back turn this back down and now that edge is in place uh this one did that also just magically go in it matches on both sides pretty much perfectly so i guess we must have gotten just very very lucky well um this one kind of has to go here which means it's flipped so let's go ahead and and flip that let's see how does this need to go down so that's not right so it needs to go down this way and it looks like this center is already rotated right okay great so let's just go ahead and put it in okay so now we just need the correct uh yellow or sorry green edge here it's definitely not this one um let's see that seems like it matches pretty well so it looks like this just needs to come down here okay so looks like that's our middle layer done um yep this aligns uh just fine although uh if we do have a parody we'll definitely know about it in this top layer so right now it looks like these two edges are solved but these two need to be flipped let's just see what happens if we flip these so then these two uh need to be swapped however i know that if i do this it's going to make it so i have to do a 90 degree rotation of the center which is a parody that i've run into before which means that it looks like we need to do some kind of swap of two identical pieces i mean is it just all of the green edges like do these swap and then do these swap and these swap in which case we could do like a t perm here which i think would rotate this 90 and then flip these so let's just try it see if i can do a t-perm let's see okay well now these just need to flip again something like that and then rotate again aha all right i figured it out cool all right we are really close now we just need to rotate these corners [Music] there we go i did it all right definitely a pretty challenging solve it took me quite a while to figure out which of the edges were interchangeable it kind of threw me off at the beginning when i couldn't quite seem to get two green edges that would fit i thought that the green edges weren't the interchangeable ones so turns out they were and i just missed it but yeah definitely a really really fun solve this is such a cool puzzle and again huge thanks to seth for letting me keep this and for thinking of me seth your words really meant a lot so thank you anyways though guys these are six awesome awesome puzzles this is quite a lineup this is so cool well i've already done a solve on this one i wanted to do solves on all of these but these two i'm particularly concerned about i'm going to mess with all of these and see which ones i can actually solve i don't think i'm going to attempt any of them as a first solve on camera because that would just take way too long i want to actually know how to solve them before i do a video on them so i'm gonna see if i can figure these puzzles out i i'm pretty confident in my ability to do this one this one and maybe this one but like i said these two not sure anyways though guys you'll definitely be seeing videos on at least some of these puzzles in the near future so definitely be sure to look out for those all right well that's about it for these six puzzles if you guys want to
