power plants and electrical facilities in Central and Western Ukraine have come under attack in recent weeks Russia has been targeting Ukrainian energy infrastructure Russian missiles also struck a psychiatric hospital in the eastern city of hak leaving several buildings damaged the latest attacks come as Ukraine is running low on air defense missiles and is waiting for a much needed boost of military supplies from the United States a DW correspondent Carolina chimo has more now on Russia's strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure um we can definitely say that the attacks from Russia have been intensifying especially in the past uh months and this is also because uh as as you know the aid package from the United States uh was on hold in that country so the six months have definitely given Russia an advantage not only to advance and take cities like aiva but also to keep on planning their next their next Target like the missile attacks we saw yesterday that was DW correspondent Carolina chimo there now as Russia steps up its attacks Ukraine says it will suspend Consul services for military AED men abroad authorities now want to ensure that men age between 18 and 60 living abroad return home but many ukrainians say they are being unfairly targeted confused and anxious hundreds line up at the Ukrainian passport office office in Prague hoping to pick up their documents before Ukraine's new mobilization law comes into force it requires all men of military age who want to renew official paperwork to return home where they could be drafted there's no way I'm going to a recruitment center in Ukraine they won't let me come back to the Czech Republic I have an official and permanent residence here I pay taxes here and do things the proper way but now I have a problem similar scenes in Warsaw with people frustrated the passport office is temporarily closed they don't ask us why we went abroad I went abroad legally the law has not yet come into Force but passport office employees seem to be applying it already Ukraine banned draft age men from leaving the country after Russia's invasion in 2022 authorities say they are only targeting those who are legally evading the draft it's fair towards Ukrainian men who stayed in Ukraine and who work in the Ukrainian economy and who fight in the Ukrainian Army I think it's fair towards it will be fair towards them if men men from who men from abroad return to Ukraine and stand by them by each other in defending their country the country that gave them everything Russia currently occupies around a fifth of Ukrainian territory tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers have been killed or wounded in the two years since the fullscale invasion began
