UFL Expansion Explained. Yes, It's Happening.

what's up everyone this is Xavier your host and welcome to the 210 Stockyard did and then you know with the success of this year they're looking at selling the teams into the different markets and all Stuff Plus in increasing going from eight teams this year to 12 teams the next year and 16 teams the following year and they've got it set up in a very positive way and it's so much needed for spring football to help the NFL and to keep everything thing going and there it is this is the interview that has everyone talking right now if you didn't catch it that was the DC Defenders defensive coordinator Greg Williams on the come get some podcast announcing the tentative plans for the ufl's expansion I wasn't initially going to do a video on this subject but then I noticed in the online chatter that there's a simple Factor SL key word that people missed and it was in his very first sentence where he says with the success of this year meaning this year has to be successful or better yet exceed expectations now according to Williams the plan is to add four teams in 2025 I'm assuming that means two for each side the XFL will get two the usfl will get two and if 2025 is successful yet once again another four teams will be added for 2026 making the UFL a 16 team Super Summer League and folks if that happens I'll be happy to say that the UFL is here to stay now I'm not about to speculate on which teams or cities are going to get uh their teams or expansions yet that's a video for another day but what I will state is the painfully obvious that this year needs to be successful buyout SL merger was always one of the goals for both of the leagues individually by merging I honestly believe both leagues just guaranteed their survival and Longevity and in fact the merger in my opinion just fast-tracked the business strategy UFL CEO Russ Brandon alluded to this uh and mentioned this in an interview back in January he stated two things that stuck out to me first was that merger was a long-term play again meaning longevity for the league but one of the last things he mentioned and he briefly mentioned this so if you weren't paying attention you didn't catch it but he says the league is looking at expansion so even back in January when the merger had just finished being complete they were already looking into expansion there are things in motion to get us to that point but certain things do need to happen for expansion to take place the first and obvious thing uh in my opinion is going to be housing SL stadium that was part of the problem with determining who stays and who goes for this first year of the UFL was Stadium or contract situation for stadiums if they have nowhere to play can't have a team so securing that Stadium slh housing for your expansion team is going to be priority once that is settled then they look into the actual demographic graphic metrics is and here's what we as fans or you as fans can do to ensure that the league is successful and to help yourself in your city get a team first thing it's simple it's free just about everybody has it and uses it social media spread the word online follow like comment share post basically engage even if it's not your team or team that you like follow them all for the time being and you know what but delete or remove them later but following social media and engaging in social media definitely helps the success of a team and the popularity of a team number two watch every game possible and even if it's not your team tune in and watch ratings lead to advertisement which leads to sponsors which leads to revenue and trust me the executives do pay attention to what cities and states are generating the most ratings now if possible attend games as many as possible buy season tickets buy your friends tickets ask your employers uh schools organizations to offer tickets as incentives or giveaways but absolutely attending games is a huge factor and last again if this is in the budget buy merchandise shirts hats footballs any official UFL gear any type of UFL merger gear that appeals to you and again it doesn't have to be a team that you like or your own home team it can be as simple as just the UFL logo on a shirt shirt or on a hat I'll compare this and to me it sounds silly but it's almost like dating in this day and age at least for a guy obviously you got to show interest in the person you've got to give them your attention you have to spend money on them to make an impression and to make them notice you now by the way don't ever come to me for dating advice okay I'm not the one but if we can Court the UFL successfully we get four new teams next year personally I would like to see the Seattle Sea Dragons come back from the XFL side I didn't watch much of the usfl side so I really don't have a favorite or a team that I specifically would like to see back I know that uh Philadelphia stars were pretty popular and I think uh the Pittsburgh MERS were popular too but as long as the success continues then we get another four teams the following year in 2026 and assuming if there are no new teams then we pretty much just get what everyone wanted in the beginning or what most people wanted in the beginning was all eight XFL teams and all eight USA NFL teams in one League this is just wishful thinking on my part but I would honestly like to see them buy out the likeness and the names of the dissolved aaf teams my personal favorite was the San Diego Fleet I think that was perfect for the city of San Diego I would love to see them in the UFL but I'm not trying to distract you guys too much that's a whole that's a conversation for a whole another video I just wanted to clarify any type of misunderstanding and I guess confirm the rumor that yes they are looking at expansion yes it's part of the plan but yes we as fans can help the league make that determination and for this video this is my final thought One support the league in any way you can any way shape or form that you can two stop being bitter okay if your team didn't make it I'm sorry but be comforted in the knowledge that there is a plan or a pathway for bringing teams back three be patient the league is building for long-term success longevity is definitely a goal for the league and I'm all in on it and if you need a team to root for hey my San Antonio rahas are a pretty good looking team this year and we are inching closer and closer to kickoff the season starts March 30th I'm excited and looking forward to see the Arlington Renegades beat the Birmingham stallion I think Arlington will win you guys can come at me for that I'm fine I might even see you at that game if you're there but thanks as always for stopping by and listening to me rant and
