this is a quick tutorial on exporting your Maya camera and getting it into unreal now for frame accuracy you'll probably want to bake your animation tracks but for this demo I'll just select my camera hit export selection I'll make sure the camera's checkbox is selected and then make sure my unit of measure is accurate to my unreal scene you'll want to make note of the scale factor for later and then I'll make sure the fbx is set to 2020 name my fbx cam test and hit export selection now I'll jump over to my unreal project I'll open up my empty level sequence I'll create a new camera and I want to make sure my camera name matches the name of the camera node in Maya so this is going to be named my camera so I'll go ahead and make that change right now uh now I'm just going to adjust the focus really quick and I'll go ahead and select import now I'm going to select the fbx I just exported and I'm going to select match by name only I can leave Force front xaxis as unchecked and convert scene unit remember that number we said to remember earlier you'll just want to make sure these two numbers match everything else you can leave checked and then you'll go ahead and select import now we can jump back to our sequence scrub the timeline and see that our Maya camera has successfully been imported into our unreal sequence now this is just a quick manual tutorial if you'd like to see how to automate this whole process through python scripting uh go ahead and check out my python camera export and import video
