obviously the big men that was the headline going into this game but the three-point line has been a non-factor for Purdue because Yukon can stay at home against zachi let's take a look at how the two Big Fellas have fared so far who cares about threes when you have these kind of bigs right away Edy running the court they reward him good defense better offense and then they alley you Ed establishing himself early I think really did a nice adjustment C us Clint moving him outside for screening i' like to see him get more touches against Ed in a low box so Ed got off to the hawk start he was quiet over the final 8 minutes of the first half seven of 12 from the field five rebounds kinging two fouls remember they went to Samson Johnson at one point and Johnson picked up two quickies and bird I think the big concern of offer D now is the spurt as Clark spurt ability yes uh dangerous Yukon on the offense check in with Tracy talking with Matt payer coming out of the locker room he just felt like towards the end of that first half they weren't efficient enough especially Ed and he said he's going to his left doing a good job but he'd like him to go more to his right more in terms of trying to get some threes he's still wants them to drive into the basket but they're they're not on two feet kick it out and try and establish something Beyond The Ark so the three-point shooting Tracy something we just mentioned in that first half limited to just one they've been averaging eight 8.4 per game so far Ed first 12 minutes 14 points since that stretch he scored only two game 4 minutes and 18 seconds and that doesn't sound like a lot of time for Yukon that's an eternity unaccustomed of course Gino had a great run too where this year lost in the semis there I think these programs are alive and well up in husky last team to go back to back Florida 0607 before that Duke this man Grant Hill a part of that Squad it just doesn't happen an off what's been incredible is how they've done it I mean pure dominance the closest as you said that alab game now up 18 with less than four minutes left and they won the Alabama game of 14 a trip it's going to work against regrouped and played great ball and put themselves in position and the only additions Lance Jones out of a factor basis but he the history of Southern Illinois the connection Smith looking to drive in 11 players on this roster from the state of Indiana is not one of them as he puts it down hard against kingan and kingan couldn't do anything four fouls right there 33 points nine rebounds for Zack Edy but you would go to Toronto for a guy like Ed I mean you go out of state for somebody like that yeah I think so was schol here in the states he played at IMG Academy but he was a backup he was not day one and look he he played at IMG he was a Backup backup in high school how about that L by the way those names incredible impressive 74300 Zack Edy by him and his boiler maker teammates are down by 13 with 214 to go and look at him on the inbound when he puts his arms up he blocks out the whole section Caravan will toss it in 19 on the shot clock they go to the back court for Newton what amazes me with Yukon they can run when they have to and they run their sets quickly and sharply and eat up a lot of clock while doing it screen cling it Caravan takes the Baseline cling it yes and how National crown for the Yukon Huskies Dan Hurley will enter a Pantheon of coaches that is a select group let him go be so young you have a feeling a lot left he will be joining you someday in the Hall of Fame no question about it his parents Bob and Chris his wife Andrea his kids one of his sons Andrew on the team to experience it together and they had an x on their back the entire year absolutely we talked with them yesterday and how the god Caravan kinging wanted to win it for Spencer and Castle the new guys wanted them to taste this wanted them to experience what this is all about Dan Hurley has a knack he created an us against the world mentality and it worked let's go to Tracy I mean coach congratulations Six National Championship backto back can you describe what this means for you and for this team to be able to accomplish that yeah I mean you can't even wrap your mind around it cuz you just know how hard how hard this tournament is and uh what a special group of people a special coaching staff uh an incredible group of players the best group of players you could possibly do it with and Yukon you know Yukon a special place this time of year and they give us all the resources we need uh to do it like this in March and April you lost a lot L of guys after last year's team and then just replenished and you can't even pick an MVP for this game cuz everyone contributes what is it about this team that made it so special this year yeah I mean we just recruit we recruit uh you know really talented NBA players um that are are willing to not make it about thems and uh to be a part of a winning group and to go for go for all the Championships and uh while doing that their their draft stock still is really really high so uh we there's uh we we both win Yukon wins and the players win for you to be synonymous with the names wooden and Shashi and Donovan as back-to-back coaches what does that mean to you means a lot um cuz cuz I'm a I'm a student of the game I'm you know basketball's been my life and I got so much respect for the history of this game and uh you know makes you I know me and Luke Murray had some talk about if we won this one maybe we'll both retire on
