Nice style of docco: no constant repeated bits or fake drama
Oh god i hate that goddamn blålera (glacial silt clay). Its absolute torture on the machinery. The city im from sits ontop of a 25-100m thick layer of that shit, constantly moving and readjusting the city blocks with tilting
Sure sounds like that Volvo's undercarriage could do with a greasing.
-What do you mean the excavator we sent to rescue the excavator got stuck? What are we gonna do now?
-Uh, send another excavator?
That bucket on the track hoe is interesting. I wonder what the cost of one of those over a regular bucket is and if any other hydraulics are needed.
That's pretty damn impressive. Gotta coordinate four different lifting points? That's a lot of opportunity for one guy to get too rowdy and snap a line.
Serious question: who's really most at fault here? Leaving the equipment operators out of the equation, shouldn't there have been an engineering survey of the area before construction began so they knew what they were dealing with? I'm sure protocol differs by municipality and construction type, but if the video is accurate and an old man passing by truly said "oh yeah, they needed 30' pilings to stabilize that house next door..." wouldn't that mean that somebody was already aware of the complications with building in this area? Sounds like a pretty hefty insurance claim for someone.
Man, that Volvo operator has some mad skills. Moving 6 axis in unison. Dude is epic.
Lift it with a balloon! :-)
