TTGO T-Display ( ESP32 ) - Internet Weather Station and Clock (tutorial)

a couple of weeks ago i promised to share my weather station project so here it is simple weather station this is ttgo t display board great esp32 baseboard with built-in tft display two push buttons battery connector and battery charger yes right now i'm powering it with battery in this video i will show you how to make this project using ttgo display but this project will will also work on any esp32 board and any tft display supported by a tft e spi library but first let's see what we have here so this is cute weather station which can show current time date of course seconds town name temperature in that town and humidity in that same town all data are from internet and i'm not using any sensor or real-time clock chip here i can also see my ip address and here is level of brightness i can change level of brightness with this button and with this button i can invert colors if i want for example white background and black text and here is this animation created from gif file two weeks ago i posted video about my software that can be used to make these kind of animations some people like it and some say that is useless i don't think it is useless this animation adds motion to this project and project looks better with it if you don't own this board i highly highly recommend it because this is my favorite esp32 board because this built-in tft display in a description of this video you can find link so you can buy it it is not expensive but this is great board in couple of seconds i will show you how to make this project but first i would like to invite you to subscribe to my channel i'm trying to reach 10k subscribers okay let's make this in description you can find code feel free to download it you will also need to install some libraries here you can see libraries that are needed for this project then you will need to make some changes to code here you will need to write your wi-fi data your ssid and wi-fi password and here you will need choose down and country i will show you how to do this properly we are using open weather map api and all weather data are from that api so first we will visit openweathermap.org oregon site and let's say i live in paris and i want to see temperature in paris i will search for paris and choose this one from friends of course and i will copy these tags in my code name and country code next you will need api key this is fake api key and it will not work you need to paste your own api key here api key is free and you can get it on this way you will fill registration form on this site on your mail you will get this verification mail after verification mail you will get your ap key keep in mind that key will be active in couple hours now you can copy that key and paste in in code for time and date ntp client library is used and you will also need make some adjustments first find this part in code and edit it to adjust your time zone here is described how to adjust this so for whole project you will need edit ssid uh and wi-fi password down country api key and time zone now you are ready to upload code to your ttig to your ttgo board thank you for watching almost whole video please let me know in comments if you reach this point of video also check my other ttgo display based projects there are some fun games stay safe and please subscribe for more videos bye and i will see you next week
