Try this! Ultimate XL tarp pitch: Tipi

hi I'm Papa hiker and welcome to my series on bitching a tarp as a shelter this time the large rectangular tarp becomes a teepee - Papa hiker not only functionality but also style really matters when it comes to tarp itches I will be pitching the tepee set up with my three by four and a half metre tarp it's a DD XL tarp by DD hammocks the universe is an amazing place if you can take such a simple tarp and create a teepee out of it that will fit two bikes and to grown a person's then alien life certainly must also exist it has roughly three meters or 10-foot diameter on the inside and almost standing height in the middle so that means that a small family can actually sleep inside this tepee shelter and they can do so in relative safety and comforts I have tried doing this pitch in the past with a three by three meter tarp and you can see it in this video [Music] if this turns out to work I'll make it a lasting pitch video but I have to say that with this large tarp size it really comes into its own and the first time I saw it done with this tarp size was on the website of some Japanese guy so I'll put the link in the video description arigato Kakui die Oh usually I put up all tarp pitches in three to five minutes this one and I have to say it was only my second or third attempt took me 15 minutes oops if you also need some practice I suggest that you try the cave pitch first if you are proficient at the cave pitch then make the move and try the teepee please also check my video in which you can see how to put up the cave pitch I found a big hammer somewhere to hammer in my stakes normally I just use my feet even though everybody is against it but if the ground is very hard if you use your feet to put in the stakes chances are that you bent them so in that case it's much much better to hammer them in now this may get a little embarrassing because it really is a two-man job one guy to hold the pole and the other one to hammer in the dyads but all just do it myself hold the pole find the tire places hammer them in and put the pole up last [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] do bear in mind that the tip of your newly created teepee is not reinforced so you need something like in my case a hat to put between the cloth and your pole otherwise your pole may damage your cloth which is a very bad idea especially in a windy night please check out my video that shows 24 ways to set up this large rectangular tarp format so that's it for the teepee pitch thank you guys don't forget to subscribe see ya Papa hiker
